//Yelae's birthing thread, I think anyone can reply, right Yelae? but, I know she'll most likely want Uskiya to reply, since she's the nurse and Yelae's friend. But, let Yelae reply first please.//
Winter came like a freight train to the lands of Transylvania, surprising the vargs with a very fierce and hellish blizzard. The white blanked covered all of the once orange and yellow lands of Ge-Rad into a bare, winter wonderland. Snow was only knee deep at the most unsheltered parts, thank Tor. The pond many used as a water source had frozen over, leaving the Vargs to the fresh snow as their new source of thirst quench.
Large ivory paws noisily crunched the thick blanket of snow that covered the once yellowing grass. Bright gold eyes observed the surroundings around him, as thick ears twitched this way and that. His nares flared in rhythm, sucking in the dry air without a scent. He shook his large, pure ivory thick winter coat ridding it of snowflakes that strayed from the heavens above. His heading was a place not far from the pond, shelter little by scattered trees. He knew the hares dug their dens around here, to hide from putnar such as him. Right now, he hoped he was able to accumulate such a hare to feed his mate, who now rested in one place that accumulated the least amount of snow, and was hidden well in the thick foliage. A “nest”, if you would call it, his very pregnant mate had made in one of her hormonal rampages. She was a bit nervous about being a new mother, Shakó could tell, no matter how well she denied it. But the male knew in his head that she would make a good mother, for she was already trying to prepare everything just right for the delivery.
Shakó paused a second, to look up at the sky above. Fenris was making his way up in the sky, sending bright colored rays across the horizon and rays through gaps in the bare trees. Today, the wind barely blew, just enough to comfortable ruffle his thick coat. Shakó sighed, he wondered exactly how much longer until Yelae gave birth, not that he was complaining or anything. It was just- a little longer than he expected, was all. That, and he couldn’t hold in his excitement for long. The thought of being a father brought a large smile upon his face.
It wasn’t too long after holding a constant still posture that his eyes and auds were directed to a snowy white hare, his auds and oculars locked in place. Carefully, almost like a cat, he sulked to a more fittable posture, able to balance himself on two to three paws at a time with grace. He only moved each paw at a time, coming closer to his prey, only pausing when the unexpected creature lifted it’s head. He could feel it’s heartbeat, it’s nose flaring a mile a minute. He silently licked his muzzle with his smooth pink tongue, when something inside him made him suddenly unbalanced, as if his heart gave a hard, irregular beat. To tell the truth, it felt as if his blood stream had suddenly changed directions.
Now unbalanced, the mann fell flat on his face, before quickly picking himself up. His prey had scurried off, but that didn’t matter- something was up, he could feel it. “Yelae,” Shakó whispered to himself, his heart now pounding. Was she ok? Was she in labor? He didn’t know the exact details, but he knew he had to get back to his mate as fast as possible. Sprinting through the snow, the mann’s auds remained forward and erect, listening for the tiniest sign, or call of his mate.

//Ah, it's nice to get back to posting...^.^//
The young she-Varg was pacing outside the den. She had made her nest her temporary home when she found she couldn't travel far without becoming tired, due to the new load she was carying. Despite it being warm, for dead leaves as well as white tufts of her fur acted as insolation, she just couldn't get...comfortable. The unborn cubs within her were restless, and there was constant kicking and movement, which made it hard for her to lie down and rest. So despite it being cold outside, she rather stay out there than inside the warm, cramped den. She needed to stretch her legs.
Yelae winces, for there was a violent kick that caused her to sit down suddenly. However, following this was a strange sort of wave of pain that attacked her whole body, and she lets out a strangled whine, attempting to sit up once again. Once the wave was gone, Yelae sucked in the cold air, which bit the back of her throat, and stood up once again, slowly, tentatively. What now? She thinks to herself, mind muddled with worry. Was that what she thought it was...?
Before she could take another few paces, another wave of pain attacked her, causing yet another whimper. She recoils back, and her breath hung in the air like a cloud before it pulled a disappearing act on her. Indeed it was, and the soon-to-be mother fretted, what should she do now? Head back to the den, or call out to others. Shako, he should know and...Uskiya.
Yelae mind was racing so much so that it was hard to concentrate, poor dear didn't know what to expect. Once again she took up the pacing, this time it was more quick, more hurried. A few minutes passed and she waited. Was it false? Another pain ran through her thin frame and the Sikla took that as a now. The ripple of the contraction caused the red-chested female to sit upon her rump, and she managed a small feeble howl.
That was all she could manage as she allowed her already-weary body to sink down into the snow, the cold particles cooling the female down. Though she knew it would be dangerous to wait out here while in labor, it was too hard to pick herself up and walk back to her den, even though it was just a tail length away. Her blue-green eyes wince as another wave of pain shot through her, and Yelae prayed for the best. Both for her and her unborn cubs.
"May everything go...well..." she murmurs in a pained voice as though struggling for breath. Her eyes look onward, hoping to see her mate's form before her.

Legs pumping furiously beneath him Draeg tore across the frozen landscape. The amber varg had chosen to accompany Shako` on his trek to procure a meal under the notion that they would be more successful if they worked together, knowing that the new father-to-be was probably anxious to get back to his mate and make sure everything was still okay. A father himself Draeg knew Shako` was going through, with his mate being so close to her time and this being both varg first litter together it was only natural that Shako` would fret over Yelae until the pups were born. Having experienced the same thing before with his first two litters the prior year Draeg knew that there was nothing to worry about. Still…Yelae’s pregnancy seemed to be taking a little longer then expected, the pups were already a week or so overdue. Hopefully nothing was wrong.
Weaving through the sparse collection of trees that lay scattered about Draeg returned his attention to the task at hand, huge padded mitts pounding kicking up snow and leaving a cloud of white powder trailing behind him as the amber Dragga sped after the same hare Shako` had startled into action. The chase lasted a moment longer before Draeg’s prey managed to escape, disappearing into one of the many burrows that lay scattered about the down. Cursing he stopped, letting out a slight growl and pinning his ears in frustration. So much for efficiency. Glancing over his shoulder he noticed that Shako` seemed uneasy, the white wolf holding himself in an alert manner as though on the lookout for something. “Shako, what is it?” Suddenly Shako was gone, breaking out into an all out run and becoming nothing more then a white blur against the snow as he shot off in the direction Yelae had chosen to house her den.
Unsure as to what would cause Shako to just leave in the middle of a hunt Draeg just stood there, watching as his faithful second tore off into the horizon. A moment later a feeble howl rang out from the whelping den, cutting through the still evening air and piercing the silence with resounding clarity. The realization of what was happening dawning on him Draeg tore off after Shako, practically falling over himself as he scrambled to catch up to the white wolf. “You’re kidding!” he shouted after him, hastening his step. “Now?” Upon arriving at the densite the amber varg was surprised to find Yelae’s prone form lying helplessly at the mouth of the den, her entire body trembling as she struggled to breath. Just one look was enough to confirm Draeg’s suspicions about the red breasted sikla. Yelae was in labor. “Oh this is not good.” he yelped. “Not good at all.” Coming forward he immediately placed himself beside the downed she-wolf, gently licking her brow and nudging her with his snout in a desperate attempt to motion her into the den before turning to face Shako`. “We need to get her inside…Now!”

The nurse of Ge-rad was quick on her paws. The birth of a new litter was coming soon and there was much to be done. Like a flurry she grabbed what was left of soft pine needles and other soft objects. Gripping them gently in her mouth she returned to the den where Yelae waited. Dashing in she laid the rest of the material down and emerged to sit with the expectant mother. Knowing that the next hours would be painful.
"Now Yelae, you must be calm. I know it's painful." She gave Yelae a reasurring nuzzle.
"All right, soon you're going to have to go back in the den. It's far to cold out for the pups." She stood and shook her coat. Looking in the direction the white, red breasted fae looked, Uskiya knew that Shako, and Draeg most likely were on their way. Turning back to Yelae she sighed. "Nervous?" she asked.
"I have a trick for the pain, although it might be hard to find. During the later part of the birth I bit down on bark." She laughed a little. "If you want I can gather you some." She sat back down, trying to remain calm even though she herself was excited. Looking up toward the sky, the nurse wondered if snow was on it's way, the ground was already covered in snow. Another snow could be dangerous.
"Let me know if the contractions get worse." She stood back up and trotted over to a nearby tree to see if she could grab some bark off in case the mother might want it.

//It's not bad, hun! It's exelent! You need to give yourself more cedit. ^^ Lol, I think Shako's going to dissapoint here, he doesn't know what he's doing.//
This feeling- was it good? Bad? Shakó couldn’t really tell, he just knew something was up. His ivory auds strained, but he could hardly hear anything but the sound of his heaved breaths and Draeg’s calls behind him. “No, I’m not kidding! Do I look like I‘m kidding?” Shakó slowed enough to called behind him, his voice broken in panic and worry. He didn’t know what to do, what to say, he had never been in a situation like this before. Would Yelae be alright? Would everything go according to plan? ‘what plan?’ his mind interjected. True, he didn’t have a plan. He thought- instincts would take over. wrong guess
Whipping through the rough terrain, branches and bushes alike grasping his thick coat, Shakó pushed onward until he saw the ivory, sunset chested fae, his mate. He slowed to a stop, just before her and another fae. She was already in the company of Uskiya, the pack nurse. A wave of relief passed over him, she knew what to do. But the sight of her labored breaths and constant wines worried him a bit, was this supposed to happen? Shakó wondered. Draeg, who had also arrived after Shakó, didn’t help the situation.
“‘Not good?’‘Not good?’ What do you mean, ‘Not good’?! What’s wrong? What happened?” Shakó babbled, his voice a higher pitch than usual. He looked from Draeg to Uskiya in turn, hoping to Tor that everything was fine, that everything was good. Another whimper from Yelae made him look back at her, she looked uncomfortable and in pain. Comfort, was the only thing that ran through his mind now. That, and the apparent need for her to be in the den, where it would indeed be warmer and dryer. Not to mention, much safer. Shakó nuzzled Yelae behind the ear, and gave her a loving lick on the muzzle. “I think- you need to get inside. Could you try and stand? I‘ll help you,” he said, his vocals still a bit weaved with worry. He dug his nose between Yelae’s ivory coat, just behind her forelimb, and the matching snow underneath, giving her leverage to try and stand.
Hopefully, everything would be fine. It had to be. She was with Uskiya, who’s not only a nurse but a mother, and Draeg, who had too litters himself. Yes, everything would be fine, he said to himself, trying to calm his nerves. Not only for himself, but for his mate. Bu the fact just hit him, like a brick wall. ‘I’m going to be a father’, he said to himself, dumbfounded. ‘We’re going to be parents, responsible for another life.’[/I

Everything that happened occurred rathe quickly for the ailing she-Varg. First Uskiya came along, and Yelae thanked Tor for such. She nodded her head at the nurse when she inquired if the Sikla was nervous, but the nurse's prescence calmed her. She was a mother, and the nurse, and even though she would love Shako to be present at the birth, it was best that Uskiya was here first. Draeg as well, for he was a father and probably was a comfort to his mate. He would also ease Shako's pre-father frets.
Speaking of which, Shako was indeed flustered from what she could tell. Another contraction ran through her body, but she held back her whine. His leaverage helped, and she licked his maw as he stood. Thankfully some of the pain had faded away, just enough so she could manage herself in the warm den.
Though her mate and friends were here to reassure her and attempt to help her, Yelae was reminded after another shock of pain ran though her lithe body that she was alone with this. They could only help as much as they could, and in the end it was only her and her cubs' journey and battle.
Her head sinks into cushion she was on, and her stomach made her lie on her side. Another contraction ripples through her body, and her blue-green eyes haze over in pain. Soon it would be done...she hoped. For her safety, and her cubs'...//Short. In my next post the cubs'll be born, so yeah... //

Ignoring Shako’s frantic jibes Draeg galloped after the ivory wolf, practically gliding across the frozen terra as he widen his stride to further keep up with his anxious second. Paws barely touching the frost bitten earth he followed Shako into the barren remains of scorched vegetation that housed his mate, tearing through the thin branches and dead thicket without pause. By the time the pair arrived Uskiya was already tending to Yelae, letting out a relieved sigh and slowing to a halt Draeg set himself beside the laboring she-wolf. Taking a moment to inspect the downed fae he offered Uskiya a slight nod, thanking her for caring for Yelae through such a stressful ordeal.
Satisfied with his inspection and knowing that Yelae was in good hands Draeg redirected his attention from the red-chested sikla over to her mate who stood panicking beside her, the Beta varg’s normally calm resolve having vanished at the sight of his mate’s agonized state. Seeing this Draeg couldn’t help groaning, knowing that would be nearly impossible to clam Shako down now that he was a nervous wreck. He briefly wondered if he had been nearly as terrified when Cwen and Firefly had given birth, granted he had probably been worse when Cwen had first given birth but then again she had gone into labor prematurely and the circumstances that had led to her condition had been far from natural so no one could hold it against him for acting the way he had. Still Draeg liked to believe he hadn’t been nearly as paranoid as Shako when Firefly had gone into labor.
Stepping away from Yelae he let out a slight growl, lifting his tail straight into the air and raising himself to his full height as he approached Shako. “Enough! Your mate is fine, or at least she will be once we get her inside so she can give birth in peace.” he barked, attempting to regain control of his second. “Now calm down, we’re going to be in for a long night and I would rather you weren’t whimpering the entire time.” Padding along the other side of Yelae Draeg watched as Shako aided in helping her to her feet, assisting the white wolf as he escorted his mate to the den and licking Yelae affectionately atop her head as she passed him. “You’ll do fine.” he growled softly. “I’ll take care of Shako until you get back.”
His own nerves considerably calmer now that Yelae was safely tucked away in her den Draeg positioned himself between Shako and Uskiya, heaving out a light sigh he turned to the pack nurse. “Uskiya would you make sure no one enters the den while I tend to Shako?” Turning to Shako he motioned for him to sit. “My friend I know it’s hard but I need you to calm down, it will do you no good to work yourself up like this and it certainly won’t help Yelae or the pups if she has to worry about you while she’s down there.”

Suddenly Shako and Draeg appeared, Uskiya gave a sigh as Shako raced forward. "Shako, please remain calm." She smiled giving him a smile. After she had torn off some bark she returned to Yelae.
Watching as Shako remained flustered Uskiya could only grow worried that he would cause his mate to become even more nervous. "Yelae, if you can you need to get into the den." She went towards Yelae and gave her a light nudge on the shoulder. "Draeg, if you please." She nodded toward Shako and soon Draeg was confronting the beta. "Shako, I know this is nerve racking. But you should be so happy! You're here and I'm sure that makes all the difference to Yelae. But, things will be much better if you're calm." She gave him another reassuring smile before turning back to Yelae.
"It's getting colder, m'dear. If you please, you need to get in the den, or you're pups will freeze and you will endanger yourself." Her voice was slightly stern, but only for the concern of her friend.
Looking back to Draeg as he gave Uskiya a command she nodded her head and turned back towards the expectant mother. "You'll be fine." She smiled and dug away extra dirt from the entrance. Slipping back inside for a moment she made sure everything was fine. Then she popped back out and stood aside waiting for the mother to enter.
(((sorry so short, have to go.)))

//OK, this confused me a bit, if Yelae was in the den or not. Draeg says she is, I think, and Uskiya says she isn’t yet… so, I don’t know. Helpful, aye? And, I’m following TS, where the males stay out of the cave as the femme gives birth, just to let you know, incase you haven’t read it. It’s supposedly the right thing to do.//
The panicked Shakó let out a whimper at his Dragga’s sudden aggression. Shakó instinctively tucked his tail under, his ears pinned to his ivory cranium as his four ivory legs bent to lower himself to the ground to how submission. Any lower, and his belly would have blended with the snow under him. Shakó knew Draeg meant well, that he was trying to calm him down, but he still couldn’t help but shake all over and let out a whimper every once in a while. Even Uskiya tried to calm his nervous self, with little luck. They were right, however. He needed to stay strong, strong for his mate. After all, he was a Warrior of Ge-Rad, for Tor’s sake! Draeg’s second! If anyone had a right to panic, it was Yelae.
Regaining his proper composure Shakó once again neared his mate, giving her a few licks on the nose. “Man, Yelae, you’re being really brave, braver than me. I’m proud of you,” Shakó whispered to Yelae, his voice sort of cracked with nervousness. “You would think I was the one in labor, with the way I’ve been acting” he added, all in good humor to try and cheer Yelae up as best as he could.
However, his tending didn’t last very long, for when Yelae had another contraction, Shakó couldn’t help but whimper with her, his ears pinned against him cranium. He felt so helpless, so pained to see her in so much pain. I he could take her place, take her pain, he’s do it in a second. Better him, than her, he thought. However, he couldn’t stay by her side, told his instincts. It was something she had to do alone, or at least, in peace. Licking Yelae once more, he rubbed his head against hers. “I hate to do this Yelae, I really do, but it’s something that must be done. Don’t you worry, I’ll be right outside the den, Uskiya will be with you. She knows what she’s doing, you can trust her.” Shakó said, with obvious pain in his voice. At least he wasn’t shaking as bad, and was begining to pull himself together.
Shakó had no choice but to follow Draeg, though he did reluctantly. With every couple steps he would turn around towards the den where Yelae lay in labor, and give a soft whine. They didn’t stray far from the den, but Shakó felt like he was an eternity away from her. All he could do was pace, and wonder, and hope. It was beginning to make him a bit agitated, to tell the truth.
“I know!” Shakó snapped at Draeg, who was trying to calm him down. “I know, but I’m trying! I really am! It’s so hard to see her in so much pain, I feel so- useless!” Shakó barked in frustration. He began to cough a little, the stress was getting to him, and there was nothing he could do. His stomach grew hot again, and a small amount of crimson liquid spattered on the snow in front of him. It was hardly any larger than a leaf, but was there none the less. “And I thought I grew out of biting my tongue,” Shakó muttered, though audible enough for his companion. But that was the least of his worries, now, however. He looked back up, whining again, wondering what on earth was happening right about now. “Damn, Draeg, how could you stand this? And you went through three litters! I’m about to have a heart attack because of one!” Shakó barked again, his impatience shining.

It had only been a few suns since Krystal’s acceptance into Ge-Rad came too pass. Those precious moments still clung onto her minds eye with each setting sun. Yet the transgression from solitary Varg too pack sister was a slow one. Though the Fae had gotten too know some of the Ge-Rad family, there still remained several who for the moment stood as acquaintances. Krystal hoped that too would change with the coming of many more suns. Now part of a new family the former Kerl longed for acceptance from her Ge-Rad pack mates. But old habits had a tendency to die a slow death for the ebony and ivory Fae, and she found herself wandering the Ge-Rad territory in the company of Fenris’ rising eye. Krystal took on the mission of learning more about her new domicile, and set off too learn every nook and cranny of the terra she now called home.
It was only by utter coincidence that she happened too come upon an uncovered burrow. Gazing at the hole for a moment, Krystal nearly missed the sight of the warrens current resident as the hare hopped along its set trail. Perhaps it was unaware of the She-Varg who stood just over its dirt covered residence. Lost in its’ own feeblish thoughts and worries. Instinct quickly took hold of this chance encounter for the two creatures. A puff of ivory haze came too life around Krystal as she sprung towards the hare. And before the last snow flake could fall, the rabbit had all ready breathed its last breath. A horrible snap was all that was heard too anyone who might have been by. Her muzzle clamped tight around the hare’s neck, Krystal’s auds perked upward as they caught a meager howl.
An aura of distress lingered with Yeale’s cry, something was terribly wrong. Her kill set firmly in Krystal’s midnight muzzle; the newest addition to Ge-Rad’s family sprang forth once again, this time towards the direction of Yeale’s voice. Her ebony paws moved swiftly through the terra of Ge-Rad, as they carried the Fae along snow covered lands at a quickening pace. Running usually brought joy to the She-Varg, despite having been forced by the Zanguzen too run across the territory every sun, she actually enjoyed it. The feel of wind combing her dark pelt brought a pleasure that normally eased away any troubles. How ever this time around, Krystal would find no such bliss. Weaving her way past underbrush and bare tree trunks, the Fae only hoped that she was traversing in the right direction.
Her concerns would soon vanish however, as the ebony and ivory Fae’s gaze latched on two Varg’s, one of whom she knew well. The other however, an ivory male she wasn’t at all familiar with. His movements were at first confusing, as he paced himself close too a near by den. He seemed stressed, yet Draeg offered too the troubled Shako words of comfort and wisdom. Words overheard by Krystal’s twilight auds. The missing pieces of the puzzle now complete in Krystal’s mind, a birth was too take place. This white male being the obvious over anxious father. Conflicting thoughts now swept through the Fae’s mind. Having just joined the Ge-Rad family but a mere few suns ago, was it really her place too be apart of such an important event?
In the end she decided to pad toward the two males. Krystal took a seat several feet from the Dragga and Beta of Ge-Rad, as she still felt it wasn’t even her place to be here. “Draeg speaks the truth.” Krystal spoke after placing the dead rabbit beside her front paws. “Courage comes in many different forms. Just think, while you sit here and eagerly await the birth of your cubs, another Fae too begins the cycle of birth, only without the comfort of her mate close at hand. For he left her side a long time ago, too much of a coward too take on the responsibly of sharing and bringing up life. Yet here you remain true and loving. So while you pace back and forth thinking about how “useless” you are, even now, she’s probably thinking how lucky she is too have you as the father too her cubs.” Krystal’s words were stern, yet she looked upon Shako with kind pinto optics. She didn’t want too see the white male in such a state, but understood where his anxiety came from.
(OOC: I feel like this is such a terrible post. My apologies. If anyone notices any color changes in the text it's because I'm playing with different colors too see which one I'll start posting in from now on. Again sorry about how bad this post is and for it being up so late.)

A si;ent shadow watched over the rucus. Her face emotionless. Her tail gave a low swing and she realy did not want to be here. Except the desperate cries coming from the silver white male kept the red femme firm on her ground. She watched, her silver blue eyes blinking with thought as they travelled over the forms visible there in the gathering. She watched the dragga, her eyes contracting into dangerous slits as she observed the male. It seemed that the dragga was quite the ladies man. But this particular femme was like many others interested, and wanted to follow after him. But unlike those sick love stricken femme, she followed him, eager to watch him drop dead.
But Kai felt no real need to get into the pack hustle and bustle, and since Cwen had dissappeared ending Kairi's daily routine of teasing jibing and just acting like a flea to a mutt. Now Kairi was left with nothing much to do. She couldnt find her father Bryrpaw, and with winter near its full force, it would take more then a day to travel to the Koran lands to visit her grand-dam Tarkah.
But today there was moreexcitement to be had. Yelea was to give birth. Kairi flicked her tail. It was rre if more then anything for a sikla of the pack to give birth. But then Kairi regarded, Shako was the beta and if Draeg accepted this request, who would oppose?
Kairi's eyes then swept over to a ebon femme. She was new here. Kairi smirked, with Cwen gone perhaps she could at least put in some fun with taunting the newcomer. But for now Kairi gave her attention to the couple of lovebirds down by the whelping den.
Kairi padded closer watching as Yelae was led into the den. Kairi grinned but the barks and ridiculous wailing brought Kairi back to the form of shako.
Kairi stod a few metres away as shewatched Drae calm the white beta down. Her ears gave a twitch as she couldn't help but crack a smile. She looked over as Krystal spoke words of reassurance. Kairi aid no heed, the words went in one ear and out the other. Kairi padded by, her tail giving a flick as she gave Krystal a look with a raised eyebrow as if she didnt know what to say or think of the newcomer. Instead of starting any gossip or jibing she went straight to Shako, outright ignoring Draeg. Kai stood infront of Shako as he was calming down now. With a grin on her maw she nuzzled the beta. "Shako dont be a furball" Kairi teased, "Yelae'll be fine. Now you a warrior or not?" Kai continued to tease, though her eyes blinked with affection for the beta.
Kai gave a stretch before looking toward the den and giving a nod to Uskiya. Kairi ended her tease loving self and her eyes grew understandiing. But her head was turned aay from Draeg, as if she didnt wantto show him her compassionate side at all, "Come now brother, Yelae will be fine" Kairi reassured with a wag of her tail.

//Yeah, I was going to post once Yelae did, but I figured I'd get a jump start on it. I just finished it, though. woot!//
The piebald mann shook his ivory coat, his ice like eyes in a squint. It was snowing out, but not that bad. He’ve had worse. Still, it wasn’t rather good for his brother and sister and law, for rumor was Yelae was giving birth.
Bane was going to wait until she gave birth before he saw the cubs, his little niece or nephew. Pft, little? Their going to be midgets, Bane cracked to himself. He still had to have some sense of humor while becoming occupied by these lands. Even though, he just had the chance to stretch his legs, and explore the lands outside of Ge-Rad. Yeah, some difference. It snowed where ever he went. Go figure.
As he trotted up toward the den area, the mann caught wind of his brother’s scent, along with the scent of a couple others. He knew Draeg’s scent and could recognize Kairi’s scent by now, but there was another feminine aroma in the air, one which he did not know of. As he cleared the brush in front of him, in the distance Bane could clearly see the four figures from afar, the gold Dragga, and ivory beta, the crimson warrior, and an unfamiliar ebony and ivory fae. Growls from the nearby den only caught his attention for a short moment, he knew it was proper for the males to stay out of the den why the nurse helped the fae whelp.
Gaining momentum, Bane padded toward his brother and who he learned to be his “sister”, though only through Shako’s adoption. It was clear enough to see that the mann was in a right state, panicking and pacing about. Bane couldn’t help but chuckle to himself, he had never seen his brother so far from “put together”, like he always usually was. “Relaaxx, little bro,” Bane growled joining the group without a second look at the unknown fae, but a curt nod at Draeg and Kairi. “From my observation, you’re taking this all out of proportion, the fae knows what she‘s doing,” he growled with a small grin.

//Sorry Bane, had to get this post out of the way. Been in labor for way to long! XD//
For all she knew, hours could have passed. It sure seemed like that due to the circumstances. Pain normally drew everything out to be insanely long. Yelae was too weak to react when the first cub came, apparently the one who had been causing her the most trouble. However, mustering her strength she nudges the cub over towards her, licking the wet pelt clean with her tongue. As she did so, the gender of the cub was revealed, a Mann. And quite a rough one as well. With that instinct all cubs seemed to possess, he didn't even wait for his mother to guide him to her teats, for he found them quite easily on his own as he squirmed over. A weak smile passed over the she-Varg's maw, and her head collapsed down back to the earth as another contraction rippled through her body.
She didn't have to wait long until the other cub was born. This one, she found, was female, and unlike her brother Yelae needed to nudge the cub towards her belly. And she was apparently, the last one.
Yelae was pleasantly surprised at the number of cubs she had. Two? Truth be told, she was just expecting one, a very sickly one, whose siblings were all stillborns. For a winter litter, she must admit that her and Shako did well health-wise.
She took a moment to herself, just her and her nursing cubs. She would wait to name them, wanting Shako to, as well. After all, she was slightly worn out, and this could be told by her half-shut eyes. But she manages to raise her head, and she called out her mate's name.
"Shako..." she could only muster that much, but she hoped her mate understood what she meant.
//Well this is what I get for being museless for a long time...a terrible post X.X//

Uskiya stood outside the den. She tried to amuse herself with other things but she couldn't help but worry over Yelae. She had been in there for what seemed forever. Pacing back and forth she stopped every once in a while to see if she could hear any noise. But all was silent.
Letting out a sigh the gray fae sat down. Nothing else to do but wait she supposed. After a couple of minutes Uskiya heard the faint squeak of a pup. String at then den she waited again. Then she heard the second squeak of another pup. Excitement seemed to gush from the her.
"Yelae! Oh Yelae!" She cried from above the den. When Yelae called for Shako Uskiya nodded. "You stay right here. I'll go and get him." She turned and darted forward. She let out a couple of barks, hoping that Shako and Draeg hadn't gone far.. She reached them quickly, golden orbs sparkling.
"Shako, you're a father. Yelae's given birth. She wants you. Go on!" She was so excited that Ge-rad now had a new litter of pups. Excited for her friend and Shako.
(((bleh, sorry)))

Post by Shakó on Feb 18, 2007 10:25:54 GMT -5
The arrival of his sister certainly had brought a smile of the mann’s maw, his eyes filled with glee. “Kairi!” he exclaimed wagging his tail enthusiastically, flushing when she scolding him about whining about. Shakó nuzzled her back, giving a quick lick on the maw before mumbling something under his breath as a response, something he wasn’t even sure was Varg. He sad down again, raising his paws as if to tease Kairi, like a cub would to it‘s siblings. “You’re gunna be an Aunt,” Shakó grinned at her, though his body still shaking nervously.
It seemed like the male was having an anxiety attack right about now, until another fae happened to come along, and sit in front of the two males. This fae, shako didn’t know her, and his only reaction was to rise to his paw, his hackles pricking and lips curled. He did not know this ebony fae, and his only instinct kicked in right about now, to protect. To protect his mate, and his cubs at their most venerable time. He had only half listened to what she had to say, who was she to come up here and speak to him like she knew him? Was this some sort of trick? Was she part of a rivaling pack? “Who are you?” shako growled coldly at the fae, his bright gold eyes full of determination. “What pack did you come from? Why are you here?” he spat viciously, his ivory daggers shinning with a glisten of what looked like pink saliva. He turned his gaze toward Draeg, as if to get an answer from him. Did he know something that Shakó did not?
But he was soon interrupted by yet another family member, this time his blood brother, Bane. Shakó’s lips relaxed, but his hackles didn’t, and one ear swiveled towards the stranger to keep tabs on her. He’d be damned to let her out of his sight, not this stranger. He was too protective of his family. “’Bout time, you runt,” Shako teased, rubbing his shoulder against his brother’s. Not that he didn’t expect it, but once again Shakó flushed at being teased. “You need to get your eyes checked, Bane,” Shakó growled, not noticing how much calmer he had become. That was, clam until he could have sworn he heard the cry of his mate. Auds now in full attention, his head up and eyes gazing toward the den, the mann caught sight of the familiar form of Uskiya bounding toward him.
For only a moment, Shakó stared as Uskiya in a daze, trying to take in what she had just said. He was a father now, a father! Stumbling over himself, Shakó soon rushed into the den, careful to slow his pace before approaching his mate. Upon catching sight of Yelae, Shakó sighed a breath of relief, she was ok. He padded towards the ivory form, settling his body beside her backside, almost purring as he licked her muzzle affectionately. “I’m glad you’re ok,” Shakó whispered in Yelae’s ear, then turning his gaze to catch sight of the two little pups now suckling hungrily. A male, and a female. “Oh Yelae, their beautiful!” he breathed, rubbing Yelae’s tired body again. He observed them for a moment, feeling a burst of pride throught him. He was a father now, and Yelae was a mother. They were a family, with two little vargs to look after and raise. Nothing could make his prouder. “Any names in mind, mom?” Shakó asked Yelae, positively gleeful.
//Right, don't be mad at me Krystal, Shako is super protective, and he doesn't know how you are yet.//
