Ge-Rad forest was brilliantly illuminated by the fiery, ruddy orb of Fenris, his gaze merciless as fall had again come to higher spirits and the weather had began to char the leaves, sending red and yellow streaks, like flames, through the veining of the delicate plants. The trees, now bending and dramatically seeming to wither away, pining for lush grasses again, stirred in the tepid breeze that howled through Transylvania. A Varg paced slowly beneath one such magnificent plant; the same tree that had enclosed her slim form so many times in the past few moons. Its branches dangled in front of her pearly, conical muzzle, prodding at her thick, burly coat, its top enhanced cobalt, its bottom a dazzling white. Long legs stretched out and two agile front paws crossed as the femme laid her small skull on those two limbs. Small, white-tipped ears twitched and listened to the swaying of the grasses, the shivering of the last clinging leaves as the breeze whipped their fragile holdings. So many thoughts crawled through her mind; her cyan eyes, bright with intelligence and cunning, gleamed. Uskiya and Cal…two of her closest friends; Uskiya was heavy with her mate’s cubs and Lydair was terrified that the winter snows might move an illness within them, or Uskiya herself. Shako and Yelae…now longer did the hybrid hold bitter feelings; all was well with Shako and herself- although Yelae had yet to become a friend in the she-Varg’s eyes and heart. And then Koan. A smile curled her maw and she sighed softly; love seemed to rush through her as she thought of the handsome male. Scars riddled his form and pelt, and although she wondered what they were from, his appearance made no difference to the hybrid. But the smile turned down into a confused frown- rarely did she shove her snout into other’s pasts, but Koan’s mentioning of a fae named Huts made the Healer cock her head in wonder.
And then at the stone castle, when her boldness had surpassed all thoughts or rejection and she had confessed love to Koan- he had spoken that he had just lost the one he loved, wasn’t sure…but knew he loved her. Lydair stood suddenly and stepped from the embrace of the tree’s branches. Lifting her muzzle into the autumn air, her voice sought out her dragga, Draeg, in the form of a sweet, gentle and mellow howl. Sitting back, the femme hoped he would heed her questioning voice.

Fenris gaze down upon world from his spot high up in heavens, shedding his life-giving light across the land and filling the world with warmth. It was autumn now and all around nature was changing as the climate began to cool, the days were shorter and the nights were colder signaling the approach of winter. The vegetation in which the lera fed upon slowly dying, becoming nothing more then a crisp array of color that carpeted the forest floor and swirled about the air at a whim of the gentle autumn breeze.
Within the lands of Ge-Rad, the realm of the skilled hunter, a lone figure lay silently atop a rocky outcropping surveying the land and enjoying the feel of the sun’s warm light upon his ever thickening amber fur. As he lay atop the assortment of boulders and fallen slabs of slate rock the amber figure couldn’t help but think back to his to his homeland far to west, though it was still autumn the first snowflakes would’ve already fallen and the land would be covered in a thick sheet of white. He wondered how his birth pack was fairing the season, knowing that they would be feeling the effects of the early winter the most in their mountain home. It was not the first time he thought about his family, his mother and father at the very least, ever since talking with Mayan at the Vale of Shadows and learning of his pack’s plight Draeg had begun thinking about them more and more often as the approach of winter drew ever nearer. He had always felt that his parents had betrayed him agreeing to exile him from the pack without telling him the real reason, but after learning what had befallen them after he left the amber Dragga wondered if perhaps they were going to tell him the truth after all. However what had happened to them had taken place seasons after he had left, they couldn’t have known what would happen to them. Could they? Draeg was torn between whether he should allow himself to forgive them and forget the pain they had caused him or not.
He was shaken from his thoughts by the sound of someone calling for him, lifting his head up from between his paws and craning his ear toward the direction of the sound the amber varg took a quick moment to see who was calling him. It was Lydair. Sensing that something was troubling the hybrid healer Draeg threw back his head and answered her song with one of his own, signaling to the cobalt fae that he had heard her call and would be arriving shortly. Rising to his feet the amber Dragga made his way carefully down the rock outcropping in which he had been resting upon and began making his way further into the forest where he knew he would find Lydair, he still hadn’t been able to thank her for defending Firefly when she first arrived with Zenith and Raikan several days ago and as such was eager to see his friend so that he might thank her properly. It wasn’t long until he spotted her sitting beneath a large bending tree, issuing out a friendly bark he announced his presence and padded over to the blue-eyed hybrid, holding himself up in a dominant manner. “Greetings Lydair.” He growled, offering her a slight nod. “You called for me?”

The fae’s ears perked and her thick tassel wagged; the cobalt hybrid sat back on lean haunches and let her tail wrap around her, uttering a soft, grateful yip. Although she knew the amber Dragga was too far off to hear, the Healer knew that Draggas of another pack, especially one so large as Ge-Rad, may not come to a call from a subordinate. Endless questions ran through the femme’s mind; her cyan eyes blinked rapidly and her tongue ran around her lips. Standing, her muzzle swerved as she peered forward to see the arrival of Draeg; Lydair turned in a circle before sitting back down anxiously, pawing at the ground. As she thought about what to say or ask first, she drew her auds against her blue-black skull, however as she caught sight of Draeg and he gave her a gentle bark Lydair stood and dipped her head, her white maw curling into a warm smile. ”Hello, Draeg.” She barked, her mind tripping over the words. ”I hope the day is treating you well.” The hybrid Healer again sat back, glancing up suddenly before her azure gaze again fell on Draeg. At his nod she raised her tapered muzzle and cocked her head, opening her muzzle, ”Koan has mentioned on different occasions a femme…but I don’t know who she is, or her relations. “ Her voice was light but questioning as she spoke, confusion streaming through her blue orbs. ”Draeg? Who is Huts?”
It was quiet for a moment, only broken by the faint chirping of the array of birds and the buzzing of cicadas and crickets, and the hybrid glanced up again, looking towards Fenris as his golden rays mingled with the moaning wind, giving her body relief through the heat that was pummeling her thick coat; the darker blues and blacks having the worse before the clouds would pass over his bright gaze and leaving the wind to tussle and warp her coat. The biting winds would increase, she knew, and the land would die, shrouded by the snows that would drift and leaving the rime to freeze and glisten- Transylvanian winters would be something new to her, but with so many cubs and so many wolves Lydair knew how easily disease, as well as ill-will, could spread.
Thinking back on the events that had emerged at the Stone Castle just a few nights before, Lydair smiled inwardly and her gaze softened as she thought on Koan. "He-Koan-mentioned her at the Stone Castle, when I was with him there..."

As the pair met, a second set of amber eyes stared out at them. Koan himself was nearby, watching both his father and Lydair speak. He couldn't help but ponder what they were speaking of. Anytime two people get together after such an event... wel, it normally means that they are speaking of the event. Koan felt himself flush.
He knew that he didnt need to be embarassed; it was his father after all; and yet, what would he think of him after such an event?

When Draeg arrived he noticed that Lydair seemed more anxious than usual as he watched her turn in a circle before sitting down and begin pawing away at the ground, as though considering whether or not she should ask her question. She returned his greeting in kind and dipped her head respectfully causing a satisfied smile to work its way up the amber varg’s muzzle, though he still wasn’t used to his new position of power within the pack Draeg was pleased to see that there was at least one wolf outside of his immediate family that showed him respect. There were times in which Draeg felt that his packmates didn’t entirely agree with the fact that he had assumed control of Ge-Rad despite his obvious victory over the pack’s previous Dragga, Brypaw, though he had to admit he received most of these feelings of hostility from the pack’s veteran members, particularly the siblings Kairi and Shako. However in all fairness his emissary had proven himself both a loyal member of the pack and a true friend to Draeg despite one minor incident, though lately Cal’s attention was solely devoted to taking care of his mate Uskiya who was heavy with their first litter and as such Draeg hadn’t seen much of either wolf in passing weeks. He would have to ask Lydair how both wolves were doing after he found out what she had called him for. “For the most part.” He growled, seating himself on the soft loam. “So tell me, what is it that you wish to ask?”
The amber Dragga waited as he watched the cobalt hybrid thought for a moment before finally speaking. At her question Draeg reared back in surprise, he had been unaware that anyone outside of himself and Cwen was even aware of Huts’ existence and as such was surprise that Lydair even knew about her. For a moment his eyes narrowed dangerously as he wondered how she had found out about the golden drappa, however after a moment Draeg’s features soften as he recalled what she had said about Koan and he knew that it had been him who had mentioned the deceased fae. His features drooped visibly as he listened to his faithful healer continue her tale, failing to notice the tenderness in her tone as she spoke of his adopted son as he felt the all to familiar pain of loss spike through him for a brief moment and he started at the ground. “I see.” He said after a moment, though he sounded distant and detached.
Lifting his gaze from the ground he returned his gaze back over to the cobalt healer but didn’t speak, as though wondering whether he should even tell her the significance the golden furred drappa had played in both his and Koan’s lives. “What you have to understand is that the question is not who is Huts but rather who she was.” Draeg finally began. “To me, she as much of a daughter as Koan is a son. To Cwen, she was a friend and to our pups an aunt. But to Koan…to Koan she was far more precious then anything in the world.”

Lydair nodded her dark cranium but her gaze again turned from her Dragga as she stared to the horizon; several things weighing on her mind although since she had been accepted into Ge-Rad early on and given postion of Healer she had found many of those things to be gone, especially her past which no longer really mattered although she knew in the near furture she would end up telling some Varg. Sighing softly, she turned back to Draeg and upon seeing the surprised and somewhat suspicious look that shrouded his usually bright gaze she cocked her head in wonder, her rounded ears tilted comically and she woofed softly to him, her cyan orbs glittering. What had caused the peculiar actions of the amber Dragga? As he began to speak, Lydair stopped her anxious moving and listened intently to Draeg, startled by his words.
His daughter? Koan's...his love? She had thought that inwardly at the beginning, when he first spoke so sadly of her name, but now she fully realized why the reason behind his sad ways could be. She whined softly before speaking, lowering her head slowly. "I had no idea, Draeg..." The Healer glanced up, her cyan eyes glinting sadly. Lydair herself had suffered losses, but she couldn't imagine losing one she loved or one she birthed- only her mother and her siblings. Turai had never been her home, her place to rest, yes, but only on the outlying lands- Ge-Rad was her first real pack, her first real and loyal family.

Draeg could tell that his words had startled Lydair and watched silently as she gave out a soft wine and lowered her head, a great sadness visible in her cyan eyes though the amber Dragga wasn’t entirely sure whether it was because of what he had told her or because her mind was elsewhere. Heaving out a deep sigh and shaking his sadly he turned his gaze back over towards the western horizon where he knew his homeland lay. “It’s alright, like you said you didn’t know.” He growled softly, his voice barely above a whisper. Then shaking his head again he returned his attention back to Lydair. “Besides, I’m over it. So, you’ve been spending time with Koan? Good! I was afraid he would have trouble adjusting to pack life, he’s never really been the same after Huts’ died so I’m hoping that being with others might help him take his mind off her for a while and move on.” He paused for a minute, taking the time to scratch at some flea’s that had been pestering his flank before remembering that he still had business to conduct with the cobalt healer. “Speaking of which, I never got the chance to thank you for defending Firefly. That took a lot of courage to stand up to Cwen like that, I hope you don’t think ill of her for the way she acted but she’s never been too fond about me having another mate. But I suppose that’s my fault. Anyway, how are you enjoying packlife?”

The cobalt hybrid nodded and sat up, looking at her amber Dragga with her piercing cyan gaze. At his words of Koan Lydair let a smile creep across her pearly muzzle and she nodded, her azure orbs sparkling. "Yes, I've been spending time with him." Tilting a rounded, trimmed ear her smile lowered before it rose again and her tail thrashed the stalks that it had brushed across; its thick, drooping fur now held the random, scattered palnts that littered the dying grounds. "I'm sure he may have something to help him ease her death." she barked. Although the healer felt Koan would never truly get over Huts' death, Lydair knew things were rapidly stirring between the two and since both of their recent confessions she knew she had truly found love in the form of the steel-hued, handsome male. Watching, an amused look flickering across her blue and white face as Draeg scratched nibbling fleas, Lydair was suddenly jerked into reality at the amber male's voice again. Blinking, as if to clear the thoughts that filled her mind, she grinned and shrugged. "I suppose it is. But Firefly shares my heritage, and she now shares my pack, and although I know my friends will accept her...others, one can never be sure. Besides," she shrugged again with a soft bark. "Like defend like. And you shouldn't think I would continue to hold a grudge against my Drappa, although what she said of crossbreeds was uncalled for she is my leader and your mate and I will always have respect for her." Lydair settled into a contented crouch, grining again as she realized the Dragga had yet to find out that his own son had too announced feelings for a hybrid. All in time. The healer thought with an inward chuckle. His reaction is what I'm waiting for... looking around, she suddenly wished for the warrior's company again, but she kenw that he and his ftaher were probably not on the best of terms. "Packlife?" She growled suddenly, glancing up at Draeg. "I believe its well-suited for me. What about you?" She barked, a wicked gleam in her eye as a grin spread across her face. "I suppose this is your first time being a great amber Dragga with your own mighty pack?"

Draeg couldn’t help but cock an amused brow as he watched a smile spread across Lydair’s face as he mentioned his eldest son, the amber Dragga could sense that Lydair knew more about Koan than she was letting on though he wasn’t entirely sure. There was something familiar about the way her eyes seemed to glitter at the mention of his name that reminded the Dragga of Ge-Rad of his mate Firefly, but no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t put his paw on exactly in what it was. Shrugging nonchalantly he gave his tail a quick flick, deciding to dismiss the matter for the time being knowing that he could always find out later if he really wanted to. Still he couldn’t help but feel a tad bit curious to find out exactly what she was hiding. “So, out of curiosity, exactly what is it that you two do together anyway?” he asked, his eyes gleaming with amusement.
They continued on with their little exchange of words with Lydair, their conversation switching back over to the day Firefly joined the ranks of Ge-Rad along with their children Zenith and Raikan. Draeg was pleased to see that the cobalt furred femme already showed loyalty to her new packmate despite the fact that they hardly knew each other as well as the fact that she didn’t seem to harbor any malice toward Cwen over what the silver Drappa had said that day, the amber wolf knew that when within a pack it was never wise to anger the resident healer less they refuse to heal the offender. He had particularly worried since Cwen had injured herself not too long ago during a dispute with her mate after she took a rough tumble on her side, bruising her ribs and back and leaving her, for the lack of better terms, more or less immobile until she had been able to recover though she still hadn’t fully healed. “I’m glad, I feared that you might not want to heal her because of what she said. If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, could you swing by the den and check up on her for me after we’re done here? She took a pretty nasty fall the other evening and I’m worried about how she’s holding up. My healing days are over and in either case you probably have more knowledge in all of this anyway.”
Once again Draeg notice that same look of amusement form on the wolf hybrid’s features once again causing the amber Dragga to give her a skeptical glance, however before he could ask her about it she spoke. Draeg was somewhat surprised by his question as though he wasn’t entirely sure of how he should answer, however after a moment he merely flicked his tail and gave out a weak shrug. “Packlife is different from what I remember as a pup and despite the fact that I was a part of Deor for a brief period of time, sometimes being in the company of so many wolves still makes me feel uncomfortable.” Draeg admitted. “But I wanted a place where my children could grow up safely with their own kind so I suppose this is simply the price I pay for such, so long as my family is happy then I can deal with it. To be honest I never thought I would make it this far in a pack, I was always the sikla back home so you can guess that it came as a bit of a shock to me that I actually managed to beat Brypaw though he nearly had me there for a moment. But then again I never thought I would find myself with either Cwen or Firefly, much less both of them, so I guess I shouldn’t be that surprised with all that I’ve accomplished in the last year or so. Now…” he laid himself down flat across the ground and crossed his forepaws. “tell me a bit about yourself, now that I think about it I have never really taken the time to get to know you that well.”

At her Dragga's quirked expression Lydair ducked her head, obviously embaressed and so the cobalt hybrid took the time to glance around her, grinding her teeth anxiously and trying to decide what words she should try to stutter from her seemingly swollen tongue. Her cyan optics flashed and her maw opened as one eye slipped back to Draeg; however it quickly darted back to her surrondings as she tried to find anything that might help her in her now-anxious quest for proper wording. Breathign in deeply, her ears twitched and she ran her tongue around her black lips hesitantly before allowing her glance to return to the male. "We've..ah...hunted, together." She barked quickly, feeling her face flush and an intense heat burning her cheeks as the words braely made it past her pearly maw. "And he's shown me his den...and, ah...at the...at the Stone Den..." Dropping her head, Lydair's tail lashed and she cleared her throat lightly, trying to avoid Draeg's glance. What would her Dragga think, that she had fallen for his eldest son?
Giving him a quick glance, the cobalt healer was relieved that he switched the subject, though she knew it would once again become the hot topic of their conversation. However her maw curled into a scowl and she struck her paw in the air as if to cuff Draeg; her scowl turned to a grin and she shook her head. "No varg in their right mind would refuse to aid their Drappa, no matter how they ahd been treated by her. And I would love to have heard this earlier." She drawled, casting a playful glare at Draeg. "Really." Smiling brightly once more, a loo of astonishment crossed her features. "I never knew you were a Healer." She spoke incredously.
"And even more so, I would have believed you were once a sikla." She barked, cocking her skull and pullign her ears against it with an amused yet confused gaze. Raising her head absentmindedly as Fenris shone, warm and inviting to her dark pelt, she listened but was startled as he crouched and asked about her history. "Its no different than some Vargs here." She spoke, a tinge of admittance in her light voice. "And it could have been far worse..."She sighed softly but started her short tale, sitting back, and relaxing, her thick tassel curlign aroudn her slender hindquarters.
"My mother, Nera, was the Drappa's sister; my father, the one that has caused dog to course through my veins, mated her when they met in the fall and left her without many words. It was cold, that winter in Turai, in the valley's and mountains. I was born in the midst of it all, with my unnamed sister and my two brothers- Draug and Iomar. My sister died a short period after her birth; I had not yet come to senses and so I only know what Nera has told me." Lydair explained, wondering why Draeg really wanted to know of her history. "My eyes- as you can easily tell- were a bright cyan; Draug's were the same, only deeper. And Iomar...his orbs caused his death- my Dragga was cruel, and drowned him in the river, at an early thaw so that we could not retrieve his body- it froze over the next morning." The Healer shook her head sadly, her voice not far from cracking. "I couldn't imagine him, there, morbid and cold in the freezed rime. A moon later we were ostracized from Turai; our Drappa agreed with her mate and we had only the most out-lying boundaries to search for lera."
Giving a heaving sigh, Lydair slid into a crouch, looking up now at Draeg. "Nera taught me all I know; Draug was taught by a warrior, Orril, that ventured to us every now and then. But it wasn't the same, and my mother pined away until she finally died- no herb I know could have stopped her death. It was then Zostar took his revenge on Turai, or perhaps on Berna- the Drappa- or even ourselves. But a fire raged through the den-camp, our terra." The cobalt hybrid's voice had turned icy; her gaze narrowed and she looked to the heavens witha fierce snarl. "When Draug and I returned from hutning, we found our Drappa dead, the elders dead, and our Dragga fleeing with our remaining packmembers and what cubs they could find- all except his own. We never knew why he left his- a fae, Eclipse, and a mann, Sahm- perhaps out of guilt, as he had killed Iomar and my sister? But what strong Dragga would sacrifice his own children to the searing flames?" Lydair's snarl turned in to a cry, and she tensed, her eyes widening.
"So Draug and I took them, the two cubs, and we trekked for miles and miles, unsure if they would live, unsure if the elements would grasp their lives in their fated claws and kill them. But it was decided, on a warm spring after noon- Eclipse died. Draug was heartbroken; our feelings had now shifted to Sahm and we felt a fierce need to protect him." To her dismay, silver tears had collected in her cyan orbs and her vision blurred. Taking a paw she swiftly wiped them away, her nares flaring in shame and her ears pulled tighter against her head as she tried to hold backa great, shuddering sob.
"And then Draug died." She spoke finally, her voice cracking. Teeth gritted, her head flew up and she gazed at Draeg now, breathing heavily. "And I couldn't even stop the damn Herla. It was a stag, an antlered one, and her gored my brother's side. He died, there, then, and when I rushed to help him it was too late- and too late for Sahm as well. A vixen snatched him and I could hear his cries as she carried him into the distance..." Looking up, a small smile seemed to flicker around the corners of her mouth; she hated dwelling on the paste. "But I've a new family now, somewhere where I ahve the opputunity to start my own family and find close friends- which I already have." She admitted.

Koan had been listening quietly this whole time, his heart racing. How his father would take the news, the young male still couldn't guess. His heart racing, he stepped into the open, glancing at his father calmly. "I don't think what I do in my spare time is any of your buisness." he said loudly, his voice still fairly calm. "I'm allowed some privacy, am I not? Or do you think because you are my father you have no such limitations?"
He turned to his closest friend, and ally, sighing and looking at her sadly. "And why could you not come to me to ask your questions? Did you doubt I would awnser them? Did you doubt that I would feel for your loss? Never doubt me, please, if you do nothing else, Milady."
Koan turned back to his father, his face suddenly impassive. "And, dear father, stay out of my privacy." He said quietly.

Lydair glanced to her right at the sudden movement, her black lips pulling back fiercely from her jaws. Whatever Ge-Rad Varg had chosen to listen to her words and conversation wouldn’t make it back to the forest without less than a sharp cuff across their nose; at this time the healer didn’t care if it was her friend Cal or Shako- if it had been Uskiya Lydair wouldn’t have done anything but anyone else and she’d have a spitting fit. ”Who-“ She was cut off suddenly and her snarl brightened into a yipping grin at the sight of Koan and her thick tassel began to wag furiously; however upon seeing his calm but sad features she lowered her head and tail; would the steel-furred male be angry that she was in the process of telling Draeg her love for him?
He spoke first to the amber Dragga and the cobalt’s fae maw slowly began to hang; she knew that Koan and Draeg may not be on the best of terms but she would have thought the warrior wouldn’t of hesitated to tell his father, if not because he was Draeg’s son than merely for the fact that things might change. But then the scarred warrior turned to look at her, sadness playing across his face and a hurt look passing through amber eyes. Lydair gazed at Koan, her own cyan eyes flashing suddenly at his words. ”Doubt? I never doubted you, Koan…its just, when you mentioned her, you turn…bitter. Almost like you’re forgetting the present, and you’re going back to old memories…I was afraid to ask you, that I would cause you too much hurt.” Her voice lowered to a whisper as the hybrid padded towards him, a spark of pride and defiance gleaming in her orbs as she nuzzled him tenderly. ”And I didn’t come here today to speak to your father of my history, Koan. He asked, and I answered. Don’t hold that against me.” She growled suddenly, flicking her tail before glancing back to Draeg, slivers of anger and confusion streaming through her. "Do you understand now, Draeg? That your son has done the same thing as you?"

At Koan's harsh voice Lydair suddenly stumbled backwards, her ears pulled against her cobalt head. "Then speak, Koan! I never thought you would mind" Her fangs ground together; his seemingly angered tone still ringing in her ears and senses. Gingerly shakign her ehad to clear her mind, the cobalt hybrid stepped backwards, looking from male to male with uncertainty. Giving a soft sigh, Lydair sat back anxiously, her tail lashing before coming to rest ona lithe hind paw as she offered her cyan gaze to Koan, unsure of what to do.

Quirking his brow in amusement Draeg couldn’t help but give out a slight chuckle as he watched duck her head to the ground and begin looking about in every which direction, her embarrassment plainly showing on her features as she glanced anxiously over at the amber varg. He was a bit confused as to why she seemed so embarrassed by his question but as he listened to the cobalt femme stumble over her words he found himself thinking of Firefly once again, though this time he there were thoughts of himself being tongue-tied and acting foolish. Shaking his head vigorously he cast aside his thoughts as Lydair suddenly changed the subject and went straight on to his next question, scowling for a moment and making as though to cuff him before finally answering him in a rather drawl tone. Draeg noticed that she brightened considerably upon learning that her Dragga had been a healer like herself at one point of time, giving out an embarrassed chuckle the amber varg scuffled his paws awkwardly beneath him and lowered his gaze down to the ground. “Yeah well, Mayan taught me a few things during my stay with her in the Vale of Shadows and I learned a bit more during my time as healer in Deor. I know about enough to treat my heart pains when they come by and a few basic skills but other than that not much.” He heaved a heavy sigh, becoming somewhat somber as he continued. “But even with everything I learned it wasn’t enough to save Huts, I quit shortly after she died. I just couldn't do it anymore, it hurt far too much for me to continue.”
Draeg gave out a sympathic whine as he listened to Lydair’s sad tale, when she was done he rose to his feet and padded over to the hybrid femme and gave her a comforting nuzzle. “Yes, you’ll always have a family here in Ge-Rad.” He growled, then raising a brow. “Starting a family? With who?” From the corner of his eye he caught a flicker of movement as someone suddenly darted out from their place within the brush, beside him Lydair gave out a fierce growl at the knowledge that someone had been ease dropping on their conversation. Draeg however remain totally passive to the whole thing, calmly turning his head to see the familiar form of Koan staring down at them. “Until you’re back to your old self again I believe it is.” He replied casually to his son’s statement, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. “As far as privacy goes, yes you are entitled it but I only wished to know how you were adjusting.”
Koan turned his attention over to Lydair and for the next moment or so the pair exchanged a few brief words, Draeg watched as Lydair nuzzled the scarred male’s muzzle tenderly and again thoughts of Firefly invaded his head. However this time the amber varg didn’t push them away but rather allowed himself to become lost in his thoughts of the gorgeous tan femme that he loved so much, feeling that there was something vaguely familiar about the way Lydair had been acting and what was taking place in front of him right now. “Respect, Koan, respect.” He warned, though it was clearly obvious that his mind was elsewhere at the moment. His eyes widened at Lydair’s final statement and Draeg found himself staring at the pair in complete and total shock, the realization of what she had been hinting all along. Draeg suddenly realized why this all seemed so familiar to him as well as why he couldn’t stop thinking about Firefly, this was what it had been like when he had just started to realize exactly how he felt about Firefly. Koan and Lydair were in love! His thoughts hadn’t been thoughts at all but rather memories of his time in the forest with the tan femme during their adventure with Mayan and Gryffin to return Kars to the human village. For a moment the amber Dragga just stood there staring at the pair bicker in disbelief. “No!” he finally gasped. “You can’t be serious!” His lip twitched and he staggered back a few paces until he fell back on his haunches, a low chuckle escaped his maw and soon Draeg’s entire body was shaking with mirth as began laughing hysterically at the irony of the situation. He laughed so hard that his sides began to ache terribly and he fell over onto his side with a loud thud, when he finally got to his feet again tears streaming from his eyes and he was still laughing though not quite as hard. “So that’s what you two have been up too?” he laughed as he padded over to Koan’s side, throwing a paw around his son’s shoulder and pulling him closer to him Draeg began ruffling his son’s ears affectionately with his paw. “You sneaky little homba, why didn’t you tell me sooner? I could’ve given you a little advice, I suppose it doesn’t matter seeing as you did fine on your own. Blood or not, you’re definitely my son! I’m so proud of you, just wait till the pack here’s about this! And to think you’re the same shy, timid pup I took in all those moons ago.”
