((let's here)) Sice no one was around that seemed alive ((*ahem*)) She quickly ran into the woods hoping Tarkah would follow. The she wolf pelted across a stream and some little daisies, a perfect place for prey. She waited for Tarka while a breeze carried scent of rabbit.

(oh...I thought you were goign to make a new thread instead of continueing this one. but okay then , thats why i didnt see it sorry!)
Tarkah lifted her gaze from the ground and followed Amoria. Her tail lifted as a pang of hunger pulled at the pit of her stomach. She followed after Amoria, her gait fastening as she made here way into the clump of forest that bordered the koran valley. Tail trailing she tried to pick up a scent but rememebered that it was amoria's chance to find the prey. Grinning she made her way to the stream. Smiling she dipped her head and lapped gently, drinking the precious liquid as her pink tongue sent ripples across the water's surface.
Lickign her lips and lifting her head she leapt padded through the stream toward the meadow of daisies and wilflowers that waited for her on the other side. Panting Tarkah climbed out of the stream and gave her coat a thorough shake sending a spray of water every which way.
Tarkah let otu a yip before she finally caught up with Amoria. Givign a bark as a greeting she nudged her packmate "Right. so what do you scent? she said liftign her own muzzle and testign the air.

Lead Huntress, I'll try to get on more, so hard)) "I smell a rabbit in a burrow no far behind the stream, and a mouse by that daisy," She looked to the mouse,"It is eating a seed. Well duh how stupid. Of course it is eating a seed. What else would it do with it." She then paused realizing she was stupid for 2 reasons, She made that comment and she didn't realize that comment was stupid either. Questions rushed through her head in one ear and out the other. Is this my first hunting session? How do I know this stuff? Am I really doing this? A flash back rushed in her head..
"Dad? How do you catch a hawk?" The young amoria had caught 2 sparrows and a rabbit that day. "Why? Isn't that enough for today?" Her braken colored dad,Amaroca, the best hunter of the Amorins Clan, and leaderof it, stepped out of the brambles that enclosed their small den. "What would happen if I ever got lost?" "You would be with me." "What if I got lost chasing a sparrow?" "I would track you down" "No, really." "Yes really." "Oh dad." Amoria spotted a sparrow that flew past she pelted after it. "Come back Amoria." "After I catch this sparrow." She travled through a stream and up a tree to his nest. She was about to swipe and he fluttered off. She swiped anyway and lost balance. She fell into the River below. It tumbled and roared over her like carrabou and wolves. She reached the shore finnaly, half dead. She saw a foxes head and drifted to sleep.
Amoria awoke from a trance. She gazed back at the surroundings. Then at Tarkah and waited for a question she knew was coming.

Tarkah blinked watching Amoria "Amoria? Amoria. You there Amoria? Pay attention please" the drappa spoek nudging the she wolf with her muzzle. Her tail gave a swish as she gave Amoria a grin.
"There's more to hunting then it looks" Tarkah spoke. Her eyes looked up, they were in the heart of the Koran valley now. Koran at its most luxurious and lush grasses. This was where most of the lera occupied and inhabited. Tarkah lifted her muzzle "good, i smell them too. I suppose we can practice on smaller prey for now, but smaller prey will not be able to feed the pack, especially during the winter. Though it may be the only availible food source during that season" Tarkah said and urged Amoria to follow.
"What we are looking for really is herla. Stay away from the wolverines mind you. They get fiesty at this time of year and they wont be a pleasant guest to any dinner party" Tarkah warned strictly. "Now we must be silent. I smell rabbit, a few tree lengths to my right. I want you Amoria to hunt this rabbit and bring it back to me. Remember its not just a game of chase and grab. Nor lope and pounce. Its a game of stradegy. Even if its jus ta rabbit. Just a rabbit could mean life of death in the winter. Tarkah lowered herself into a hunting position. "don't make a sound and be aware of your paw steps and her scent, the winds can change easily. And always try to predict your prey's next step before hand.... now go on" Tarkah spoke as she stayed in her crouch and waited for Amoria.

Amoria Listened after the Flashback finished. She signaled with her tail that an order was an order. Remembering her father's hunting skills and lessons she crept padfoot by padfoot toward the rabbit that was now leaving the hole. She remebered slow movments while she was downwind to attack the rabbit slowly nibbled an acorn (acorn?) While a breeze went by. She lurched forward and stunned the rabbit for it had just found out he was being hunted. She fininshed him off with a gentel peircing bite so that he would did peacefully. She did let him run a few steps after he barley found out What was going on. So Amoria waited for chastisement over a hunter's mistake. She trotted back to Tarkah with the Rabbit in her mouth. "How was that?"

Tarkah looked up and her tail swished happily as she saw Amoria trot back, "Well done Amoria" the drappa praised. "You've hunted well, and I do say you have nice hunting skills. But try being lighter on your paws. Hunting mice and rabbits you'll have to be extremely light, for they can hear the vibrations of your paw steps." Tarkah explain her lips turned into a smile.
THe drappa lifted her snout to scent the area. THey were deep in the valley of koran and during these times herla were plentiful. She licked her lips and looked to Amoria. "Alright Amoria, there is a herla herd nearby I want you to find it but do not run out to kill just yet" Tarkah barked. Her nose was upturned in the wind as she waited for Amoria to find the herd.

((Mine are always bad..... Are you insulting me?)) "Herla.... Here I come." Amoria said excitedly. A herla? She thought,A real Herla? That is one of the last steps before a huntress. I thought I had to catch sparrows and rodent before this.... A real HERLA! She wasn't as silent on her padsteps for happyness was sweeping through her. She then caught herself in the act and slowly padded stealthily toward the juicy scent ((juicy?)). The scent got stronger as she made it to a grassy clearing. Several Herla grazed on the soft turf as other young ones pranced around. So sad that the young have to go.

Tarkah looked out onto the meadows. Her golden eyes sweepign the grassy plains as she pinpointed the small group of hinds. The males would have already moved on, as it was now summer and the hinds had already given birth. There was no need for the males to stay for the ruttng season was over long ago.
Now all was left were the does and their young, along with the occasional male that had become either too old or too weak to move on with the stag herds.
Tarkah pinpointed a hind. Her left leg was covered in buzzing flies. It was a mess. It was also dried up and torn. Perhaps fro ma falling accident, or from another carnivore attack. But the hind was lingering near the woods. To afraid to go out into the meadow because of her weakness. And the doe had a point. She could easily run through the wide open plains but she could also be easily seen. But perhaps if Tarkah waited long enough the doe would eventually find its inner courage and come out to graze where the fresh grasses grew. Tarkah picked out the other deer. She saw an old male stag, antles deformed and his legs looked cramped. Her eyes then moved to a mother doe and her fawn. THe fawn looked weak, but the doe had a glow in her eyes. Then Tarkah spotted a doe, tired looking, she was lying comfortably in the meadow grass, half awake as her ears twitched. Tarkah then turned as she caught movement. The first hind that she had spotted had finally began to move. gathering her courage and venturign out onto the plains with the rest of the herd.
Tarkah turned to Amoria, "Okay Amoria, which one would you take" Tarkah asked her eyes turned to view the apprentice.

"The one that is half asleep, the one near the woods could dodge trees and get away, the old one could be sick like the wounded one. This one is easy and non sick. This is the one. You aim for the back. I'll go for the neck. " She rolled in the grass to cover most of her scent and started creeping down wind, waiting for Tarkah behind her.

//OMT!!! I've been SOOO bad lately! Not posting at all, hope it's not to late for Kahuri!//
While the hunting party gathered then sort of lulled off into a lazy dormant state Khauri finally laid down and stretched out across the earth. I'll just rest my eyes! She told herself sternly, bu soon than faded off into a light nap. That was awoken by the distant scent of blood. Immediately she got to her paws, eyes wide in shock of actually falling asleep when she should have been awake and helping Tarkah.
Quickly her muzzle went to work, picking out the familiar spores of her friends then following the trail in a quiet trot, just in case they might be engaged with a hunt. And that happened to be so. Amoria was beginning to stalk off and Tarkah was right behind her. With great care Kahuri followed until she came up between them.
"I hope I'm not to late to help!" She whispered, grinning apologetically at them.

"Tarkah seems to be day dreaming. You take the back, I'll go for the throat." She kept creeping waiting for either Kahuri or Tarkah to send a signal to her so that she could watch as they drove the herla toward the waiting huntress. She watched in the bushes sever fox lengths away. The kill was soon to come.

Tarkah lifted her muzzle into the air, her muscles still stiff as she watched the herla herd with keen senses. Talons sunk into the mossy earth ready to kill but as Tarkah watched the herla, her eyes scanned the group once more. Pinning each one and marking them with her memory. She watched as the hind with the infected leg who had limped out finally started to nibble the lush valley grass, it's ears flicking and its head shaking irritably every few seconds to shake off the buzzing flies that hovered and harrassed her.
Tarkah then turned to look at the hind layign lazily in the grass. It's ears were erect and it was clear that the hind was still aware of her surroundings. But the voice of Amoria shook Tarkah and brought her back to focus with the rest of the world, away from the herla.
Her ears twitched as she saw Kahuri, and almost jumped at her sudden appearence. "Greetings Kahuri" Tarkah smiled before turning to Amoria. "wait!" she called. "look" Tarkah whispered, stepping forward so her shoulder was parallel to the youth. "That hind might have her eyes closed but she is is still keen to her surroundings. By the time the other herla find us, she would have been up on her feet by then. Because every hunt is vital we must take into account every possibility. And balance what we think is a better chance at winning."
Tarkah then motioned her muzzle towards the infected hind, "She is the weakest one. Besides by the time the herd sees us, all the commotion will awaken the hind and she'll be gone before we know it, her legs look healthy. That one looks like her time is short anyways, it will be for the good of the koran herd if we pick out the sick." Tarkah then turned to Kahuri and nodded.
Tarkah then looked to Amoria, "Do I make sense?" she smiled kindly. She knew the youth was excited for this, and anxious but she must know that patience was virtue and every hunt should be as flawless as it can. Tarkah then looked to Amoria, "So what should we do now?" she questioned on the hunting technique.
(sorry for the delay)

"Yes... I see it."
Kahuri whispered, staring straight ahead at the hind that bore the wound leg. Already her hackles were stirring with the anticipation of fresh meat. Her jowls began to dribble and legs trembled, she was a spring ready to be set loose, but she knew better than to just charge like some mad animal, no, she needed to work this out as a wolf should do.
"Tarkah, we could probably just use the old technique. As in going in opposite directions, circling the hind then forcing it to run forward while keeping to its sides so she would have to run forward. Then Amoria could go for the throat."
She looked back at the Drappa and huntress quietly, still planning it out and hoping the others understood.
"Though I'm sure Amoria already had that idea."
She added, nodding towards her daughter.//Kahuri still to lazy to log on! //
