I don't want to bother people or anything, but here's my opinion. I don't like the war, and I have lost people from it. But, I feel we have no choice but to stay over there, now. Bush has let us stay long enough to kill thousands of people, and they are angry at us. They could want revenge and seek it through wounding the US. They might go find Osama Bin Laden and then they'd bomb America.
I think that Bush has done so much to their country, so many bad things, and he can't backtrack his way out of it, either. He can't get out of it because he's worried about getting bombed. But, I still blame him. I don't want us bombed, but, I don't want our troops over there. My opinion is that I think they should stay. This may seem cruel, but, I do wish they'd stay over there. I don't want them to bomb our country... but, I feel sorry because so many children in their country are killed everyday.
I don't want to offend anyone who is for Bush and supports him... I just don't. It's hard for me to express my political opinions already, and I don't want to fight about anything. Talking about politics is like talking about religion with a non-religious person for me. I just don't do it much because I don't want to fight. Anyway, I'm glad I could fit my opinion in.

dont really care if i offend anyone, bush is pretty much a massacre to the world right about now.
first of all, you dont fix a country by bombing it. didnt this unfold over whether Iraq had a nuclear weapon? whats the big deal, America has them. Russia has them. So do France, Isreal, Pakistan and now so does North Korea. No ones really picking on these guys are they? Iran will join the bunch soon too.
so yah, because they had bombs, and they didnt want you touching them, America went and bombed out cities, and put ten thousand men there. woot, now your occupying Iraq. Obviously these people are going to be peeved at you. your rolling down the streets with guns and tanks, cant say id feel safe walking around looking for ice cream. The country is in a war torn state over a matter they want nothing to do with, so of course their mad, and of course their going to fight back.
alrite great, smart arse bush puts another pocket full of cash and men there. your not talking about taking weapons away anymore, your talking about killing everyone who looks at you funny. which of course is not going to make you very many friends. so you know what, im not even going to inquire about what bush should do, cause hopefully he's got something other than a bald hallow head.

This is my opinion so if you don't like it don't flame me..
But, like Bane, I think Bush is an idiot for starting the whole thing in the first place. Maybe it wasn't possible, but negotiations are better than wars. I just wish the world could be peaceful, even though that's practically impossible..

nuke you? i dont even know what to say that. first of all, prior to any of this war in iraq, WHY would iraq nuke you? you both were on a perfectly clean slate with each other.
and iran? do you know why they are threatening you? because they wanted to reduce their export of oil, so you all (america and parts of EU) threatened to boycottt the whole country. boycott the country doesnt sound very evil, but thats like confining a small town to survive on its own. Make your own food, make your own goods from your own material.
and to nuke somebody is not just something you can get away with anymore, its not just a matter of pressing the big red button so really i dont mean to be rude but i think you've brainwashed by whatever it is they show you on CNN

I suppose you could say I'm about 75-25 on this. The 25 that supports the soldiers staying is fear of America or the Uk, where I live, getting bombed - because to be honest Tony Blair is as bad as Bush, no matter what anyone says =)
But I'm still for everyone talking it out, settling on a Leadership there, and leaving. At least keeping out of their buisness for a little while, because it'll take a while for the people of Iraq to get used to eveything first. Anyway, I'll shut up now =)

They never said they would nuke the US. They were just making "weapons of mass distruction", and they cut off the US oil supply being shipped from the middle east. That, and they were fighting terriorism and Saddam or whoever was brainwashing those people.
Oh, and Bush was just trying to make another war so he could stay president. Well, I didn't say that, my friend did. Makes scense to me.

Guys.. the war didn't start because Bush wanted another term, but the war did start and yes that was a good campaign for him but starting a war just to stay president.. come on guys! The way I see it now.. we're there.. if we pull out there's a good chance of the war coming to our homeland. Yes Saddam and his brother or something was executed a while back but there are still tons of Iraqis and others fighting despite their "leaders'" death. We're there.. let's finish what we started, while being smart while going about doing it!

No, it did not start in 2005. September 11th was in 2001. The 'war' with Iraq/terrorism/the rest of this BS started back in the 80's. Those of you who are history finatics like most of my friends are and like I am when I want to be will know what I'm talking about. Also, it's kinda beyond negotiation at this point. September 11th could have been a nice little talk over tea, but it wasn't. Desert Storm could have been a little chat around a campfire, but it wasn't. This whole war could have been something else, but it wasn't. I do not disagree that Bush may have jumped into the war too soon, but who was not backing him up, truly? How small was the fraction of Americans that were anti-'lets-do-something-about-this' after 9-11? How many Europeans were anti war? How many Russians? Time tends to turn people into flip-flops. It's the way life is. Again, Bush may have wanted to get better advice and information before declaring war against WMD's and terrorism...WHAT IS TERRORISM ANYWAY? A bully in the park who pushes a kid into the dirt? Let's shoot him on site too! I disagree with the name of the war. I disagree with reasons for the war. But I know that we definitely can't leave. It's not that simple. The next president of the U.S. who comes along, if he (or she lest we forget) is not a complete retard, will realize that they cannot simply withdraw; otherwise, it would have probably been done a while ago. I don't think Bush really wants to be in the war anyway...who does? Especially when he's hated universally for his actions! There are no leaders to speak of really that he can negotiate with....they just got elected! The country is unstable, and leaving it now would be like Germany at the end of both World Wars: a total and complete leaderless mush of disaster, fear, guilt, and death. How many Iraqis are dead now? Triple that number and you will have the number that will die if we simply pull out. American lives are no better than Iraqi lives, are they? No. So why is it that we rarely ever see their death toll? Because of the one-sidedness of the press. PROPIGANDA. Again, the filth CNN is pumping out. It's all bogus. We weep when we realize Americans are dead and cheer when we see that Iraqis are dead yet we never consider that those could just as easily be women and children who were innocent as they could be soldiers. All and all, this is a religious war that we really never should have gotten into because the U.S. isn't really branded as any religion (though dear old George definitely is) and if the extremists want to have a war, then let them go ahead and have it with those they oppose and not go against whole nations declaring they will kill us all. Ok...I just realized how freakin' long and debateable that was. I'll stop now. Remember, these are my opinions. This is a debate. Those of you who are offended, my deepest apologies are offered. Thank you for your time.

.... ummm... what! The whole reason we're over there is to keep them from coming over to the US. Why should we pull out from Iraq now? Pulling out now would put us back where we started then the progress we've made in Iraq and soldiers we have lost would be in vain. short and simple.. everyone has their own views on this and the US is pretty divided about this war still. That's my view and you all... whatever...

Not to be mean or anything.. but I like that picture.. CH-46..(that's the name of the helicopter) My dad used to fly in those all the time... I would love to go over and do that but yeah.. not in the military since they wont let me fly with my bad vision. It's the only reason I'm not in the military.

Ah. Another military man. I see. This would be why you're still on this thread, like I am. Except, I do not plan on being in the military. Being female, that definitely reduces my chances in a sexist world anyway, but I am also slightly concerned about the act of killing. I have read stories of how soldiers are driven to doing things that they later regret, like killing a small child accidentally, or thinking someone has an explosive device on hand and shoot them down before they get near enough to cause any damage just to realize they were just a harmless civilian (both truly have happened). I do not think I could ever fly a copter, though it would be so fun! I like deserts. It's kinda like a dessert except instead of chocolate there's sand.
