I win! *dances some more* Ok... Anyways, lots of languages that we think are dead are really spoken fluently and sometimes as a first language in some places. Gulla for example. (Did I spell that right, BlackStar?)

NO! It's that language on that island off the coast of Charleston...you know? It sort of spawned the South Carolinian accent...

I know it's a language, I just forgot we even talked about in in 8th grade(with the cane beating over the head and hurrycunes).
Gulla/Gula, one or the other.

Anyways, we're kinda off topic. Newcomer, what's your take on the whole dead vs. alive debate for the language of Latin?

Oh...in that case, you're not welcome in this argument I mean *cough cough* debate anymore. Back to debate amongst ourselves, BlackStar, even though we're both on the same side...
Latin is alive!
*I think we should probably leave it at that until some unfortunate person comes along and rivals us*

Gak! I'm sorry...but I'm serious about letting a poor unfortunate soul come along and rival us in the matter of LIVING and BREATHING Latin...

Ok! So Latin is LIVING and BREATHING. But is it really dead? Or does it live on?

Latin is still refferenced in today's world, though very few speak the language (too my knowledge). But I know for certain that refferences from the hispanic and english language trace back to Latin. So in a sence, it is still being used. Egyptian however, is a dead language, cause (again too my knowledge) no one speaks Egyptian, and no modern day language refferences words back to Egypt tounge.
I could be wrong though.
