There is some innate feeling, some instinct that tells a preparing mother when she is about to give birth. After waiting for so long for her pups to be born it is a feeling of apprehension, but also of excitement and of looking forward to the future. As this realization comes upon Mist she leaves her usual area and pads softly deeper into the packlands of Deor, heading to the preordained place where her cubs will be born. They will be natives of her beloved pack, and as they grown will - with the blessing of the gods - learn the values and teachings of their home gracefully and will become useful, much loved members of the pack.
Sighing quietly the grey fae starts up a small hill, her large belly quite evident with her slim form. Feeling the breeze passing through her short summer coat she smiles, thanking Tor, who, as a mother understands the burdens of motherhood. Reaching the top of the hill Mist pauses for a moment to look around, smiling again as she thinks that this area will be the first of the whole world that her cubs will see. Marveling once again at its inredible beauty she is pleased to think that she would be hard pressed to find a more lovely place for her children to call home. If her prayers are answered they will love it as much as she does and will hopefully never leave for good.
Feeling a sharp kick from one of the soon-to-be-born cubs she smiles and nods, mentally telling them that she is going, they will experience the real world soon enough. Raising her head proudly she takes the first steps into the tiny clearing in front of the warm, homey den she and Chayton picked for the cubs' whelping. Thinking of her mate a brilliant smile forms on the fae's face as she pictures him, knowing that he will be with her soon. Throwing her cares to the winds Mist throws up her head and howls, her sweet vocals carrying to all corners of the Deor pack lands and telling her packmates that there is to be a birth in Deor. Listening until the last echoes of her howl have faded from the lands around her she pads slowly into the den and settles down, waiting...

The call went out, nothing could now prepare the father-to -be for what was about to happen. Every fiber in his body went on aleart and the bi-hued mann sprang forward. His strength propelling him across Deor, taking him closer to Mist. But even with his swiftest speed he felt like he would never reach the den. Letting out a howl he called to her, letting her know he was coming! But even his howl seemed to slow.
Letting out a groan Chayton thrust himself up one boulder and lept across to another. His time was becoming quicker but still nothing seemed quick enough. With one final pump of his hindquaters he sailed across the ground, landing on the bottom of the hill that lead to the den. But Mist was not in sight, a pang of worry hit him and he sped up, searching for his mate as he crashed through the brush. A brief second he saw her dissapear into the den. With a smile he approached the mouth and let out a whine. "How are you love?"
He peered in, watching her, making sure she was okay.

As Chayton's howl answers her own, reassuring her and telling her that he is coming as fast as he can Mist smiles, feeling a stirring in her heart. The lives of their cubs will show the world how much they love each other and might even do something to put some life back into their beloved pack. With the sharp yips and growls of pups echoing through the territory perhaps there will be some reason for other Deorians to return to their home and meet the newest members of the family.
Waiting for her love to join her Mist glances at a soft pile of grass, sticks, and leaves - perfect bedding for newly born cubs - a gift from Chayton to prepare for them. Wincing at a tightening in her abdomen the shadowy fae takes a deep breath and closes her eyes for a moment until the pain is gone. Slowly it fades and her breathing returns to normal just as there is a crash through the underbrush and hurried pawsteps are heard outside the den and a familar mann pads in, tail wagging and words excited. Hearing his whine she smiles in reply to his anxious question. "I am fine love... but it is almost time." Pausing a moment she notices the look on his face. "Are you ready? We've waited a long time it seems..." Wincing slightly at another kick from one of the cubs she smiles. "It seems they certainly are ready to meet the world."
Sighing slightly she listens hopefully for any more sounds outside and then looks back up at Chayton. "I hope others will come. All of Deor should witness this birth. Like Cagalli's pups when it was their turn these pups are the future of this pack. Will they come do you think, Chayton?" Krystal will come of course, even though she is not of Deor. The beautiful fae promised to come and to be the cubs' godmother and she will come as soon as she is able - after she has told her Dragga of the birth. Thoughts go to other loved ones - Cagalli and her pups should certainly come to meet their new family members, as well as many other vargs Mist and Chayton have met together and separately. Hopefully at least a few will come to celebrate this wonderful occasion.

[glow=black,2,300][Glow makes my post look longer than it is.. Sorry, you couldn't see the post very well, so I gave it some glow. ]
Large ears perked upon a massive head, listening intently to Mist's call, one that was sounded long and strident, a proud sound, the sound of a mother-to-be. As of late, Chalos seemed to be horribly troubled and had missed many a gathering, resorting to hiding in a secluded corner of Deor. The Dragga had spent days upon days alone, remaining in contact with not a single soul, not even his beloved Lucivar. But he simply couldn't miss this; he doubted Mist would ever forgive him if he remained hidden through what could very well be the most important day of her life. As his long, well-muscled legs began to carry him towards the ailing Mist, the great male made a mental note that, though Mist's birthing was a must, he had to take the time to visit his packmembers. They would certainly be wondering what had become of him by now.
Mist- and Chayton's scents soon filled the alpha's nostrils - the geography of his territory was burned into his mind, he knew just where the Deorian couple were located. Upon setting his bright emerald sights over the small den that reeked of labour, Chalos lowered his head in curiosity, stretching his neck far forward. "Mist?" He called carefully, voice soft and gentle, a tone that caressed the ear. "You called.. Is everything alright?" The Dragga was obviously nervous, if not slightly embarassed - the thought of birth made hot blood rush to his face and his temperature increase. Someday, his beloved Luvicar would go through this. He shivered, casting almost worried eyes towards the inside of the den and Chayton, bowing his head in a strange display of respect - the oversized Mann was well-known for his opinions on pack ranks, never hesitating to bow his head to even the lowest of Sikla. "You're a brave one, young Chayton." Chalos smiled, nodding past him towards Mist, keeping his distance outside her chosen birthing den. "When she has successfully birthed, she will be able to rest in a much more comfortable area of the pack den with her pups. She is now Deor's Beta Female." The strangely-marked Dragga winked at the just-as-oddly-designed Chayton. With Mist as their Beta Female, she would be allowed to rest in a nest of comfortable bedding, only slightly less soft than Chalos- and Lucivar's. She and her pups would live like royalty.
The more Chalos attempted to be patient, the more anxious he became - birthing brought with it many consequences, and the newly-appointed Beta seemed almost three times her previous size, a dangerous proportion. Finally, he could remain still no longer. "Is there anything I can do? Do you need anything?" The godlike lupine questioned; he would not allow Chayton to leave his mate. Today, he would play the inferior.[/glow]

Chayton nuzzled his mate, in truth he was nervous, his hear felt like it was racing beyond his control. But he was ready, he had been ready and he knew that she was more ready to get them out. He smiled. "Of course I am ready love. This is the moment we have been waiting for. The miracle of life." As Mist spoke of the others hopefully coming it seemed that at least one of the pack members was listening. Chalos Autumn, the Dragga of Deor had arrived to witness the birthing of the newest members to deor. "Love it seems that someone has heard your call."
Chayton greeted Chalos with a bow of his head. "I don;t know if brave is the word, foolish maybe." He turned to Mist and smiled, knowing that she would never bite his head off like some femmes in labor might, but he still knew that the pain of birthing had to be excrutiating. And he was happy to assist Mist in anyway, even if that meant leaving the den. The next words Chalos uttered were a comfort to Chayton, even though this den was nice, it was rather small and would not fit Mist and the puppies for too long. Now knowing that there was an even better place let Chayton take a little worry off of his mind. And the news of Mist being beta female made Chayton's tassel wag furiously. Such a wonderful mate the gods have allowed him to love.
He looked towards Mist, waiting to see if she indeed needed anything, something...it was hard to just sit here, although it seemed that Chayton would be here and not out running around gathering things Mist needed. This was all for the better, he should be here by her side, incase something went wrong, Tor forbid though. Hopefully this birth would go well and everything would be fine. "Yes love, is there anything you need? More padding for the nest, some water, food?" Chayton could rattle off numerous items, but he closed his maw, the last thing he needed to do was become more nervous than he allready was. Hopfeully there would be others arriving and someone might know more about this birthing thing. Chayton had no idea what he was supposed to be doing "I'm sure that if everyone is not here right away that they will be here as soon as they can come. I'm sure no one wants to miss such a wonderful thing." He nuzzled her, hoping to put any worry on her mind at ease.

Fenris was seated at the very peak of his kingdom, his burning eye over seeing the world below, his warmth caressing the landscape, with not a cloud to hinder his efforts of warming the world. Lera and Putnar alike enjoyed and ravished over the perfect day, a rare gift from Fenris, as winter would soon follow in the coming months. Normally, this should be a time for all living creatures to prepare for the perils that lay ahead in the near future. Ge-Rad was certainly doing just that. But one Ge-Radian wasn’t within the borders of her territory. A promise guided a bi-colored fae eastward, through the woods that separated Ge-Rad’s territory from Deor’s. Ebon paws moved with the swiftness of a scout, the quickness and stealth of a Zanguzen. She weaved between redwoods and leapt over obstacles to reach Deor in time. To fulfill the promise she made to a friend. Krystal had gotten held up in Ge-Rad, and now the femme would have to move faster then she has ever moved in her entire life.
To other Lera, they saw the pride of a wolf, ebon and ivory, move like a blur over the land. But they were not her target, for Deor was Krystal’s final destination. Normally the trek to Deor from Ge-Rad would take many suns to make. But Krystal wasn’t traveling with another, this journey the she-wolf made alone. Light and skilled in the art of speed by the Zanguzen, she would make the voyage in half that time. Perhaps it was this reason that Draeg had appointed the Ge-Radian as emissary, for messages could be conveyed between packs in half the time, carried by the spirit of this fae. Steadily, the scent of Deor was beginning to become more apparent to the nares of the former Zanguzen. The land of the Deorians would be within range soon at this rate. Krystal was tired, exhausted after pushing her body to the very limit of endurance. She hadn’t bothered to sleep once since the journey was started, all in the effort to save time. But at last, Deor was in range.
Was Krystal to late, had the pups all ready been brought into this world? Krystal prayed to Tor that there was still time, still time for the Ge-Radian to make good on her promise. With what was left of her strength, legs and body straining from the droplets of endurance and vigor that remained, Krystal bounded onward. Deor’s scent was now strong and potent in the trees and soil. There could be no doubt that Krystal at last arrived in the terra that blanketed and protected Deor. But how in Tor’s name could the Ge-Radian manage to find Chayton and Mist, in the vastness of forest that made up the terra. Their scents were present, but mixed in with other Deorians. Krystal slowed to a stop, tongue lolled out to the side of her maw, she panted heavily from exhaustion. She was almost on the verge of collapse. Filled with the image of Mist and Chayton in her mind, and the birth of new life around the awaiting mother, Krystal lifted her maw to the heavens and the awaiting god of the sun. A howl was sent to the skies, let loose by the Ge-Radian, as it climbed higher and higher up, as well as weaved around the trees of Deor. Krystal was calling out to Mist, to Chayton, to any from Deor to help guide the Ge-Radian towards the miracle of life.

[[Sorry if there are tons of errors... I said I'd post as soon as I got home, but that's gonna be a while...]]
Lucivar had heard Mist's call, there was no way that she would miss the birth of her puppies. Not when she'd missed so much in these pack lands, within her home. She would surely travel swiftly to make sure she made it on time. She didn't want to let her pack mate down.
The sleek Deorian Drappa hurried over the grounds, her slender paws traipsing across the earth, barely freezing on the terrain as she bridged the large gap between her and the three gathered at Mist's birthing den. She had made only one trip there, but as Chalos did, she too had a map of the lands within the mind of her eyes. She felt like every tree might've been burned into her retinas. But as she moved onward, she heard something that made her veere off the beaten path that she knew led to Mist and the others.
It was a foreigner's call, but by the sounds of it the other wolf was lost. Lucivar rushed to meet the person, as the distressed howl seemed to Lucivar like the owner of it was meant to be there today. After all, who would just wander into Deor without an invitation?
She met the black and white she-wolf rather quickly, nearly running into the fae, had her traction not been so good she just might've caused a crash. She stopped and barked at the fae.
"You there, lost? If you need a guide, I, Drappa of Deor would be glad to show you the way." A second later she was able to catch a wiff of the fae's scent. Ge-Rad, a neighboring pack and ally to herself. Her tail wagged and a look of ridgedness left her as she was now content that this wolf meant no harm on the pack. "I must warn you though, Ge-Radian, I'm in a bit of a hurry." Lucivar took her position as dominant tail held up, slightly curved, and her head held high.
She wasn't usually such a dominant figure, anyone in Deor knew that she was a peaceful and laid-back character. But today it seemed warrented with an outside in the pack, a Ge-Radian within the boarders could very well mean something was wrong outside them.
[[As I promised you Mist, here is my post, and I've taken the liberty of being Krystal's guide.]]

Smiling at Chayton's positive statement and well-hidden nervousness Mist takes a deep breath, knowing that she can get through this with no problem with him by her side. It seems her hopes begin to come to life as a familiar head pokes into the den along with a voice asking her name. The tip of her tail wags slowly but enthusiastically as she sees who the newcomer is. Dipping her head in respect she smiles. "Welcome Chalos... We are honored that you came." Nodding in reply she answers. "Yes, everything is fine... I just wanted to let Deor know that the time is here..." As if to reiterate her words a wave of intense pain hits her and she closes her eyes tightly, concentrating on her breathing until it is over. Opening her eyes after a few moments to see Chayton and Chalos come back into focus she smiles and shakes her head to belay any fears they might have... it is just the normal process and nothing to be nervous about. However, the time is close, and the grey fae cannot help but intensely hope that others will be here soon - at least Krystal, the pups' godmother.
Hearing Chalos go on to compliment Chayton on his bravery she smiles proudly, the same thoughts in her mind as well. "No Chayton, love... not foolish." Turning back to Chalos she shakes her head. "No, there is nothing, thank you Chalos. But be prepared to leave when the time comes. These pups are as ready to come into the world as I am to have them." As Chayton asks the same question she shakes her head in faint amusement, knowing something of what the two manns are feeling. It is an awkward time for them, and they are not often in their current positions. As another wave of dizzying pain flows over her the newly-appointed beta fae shakes her head again. "I wish you could stay, but... I will call you when it is over." Looking up at Chayton she hopes he fully understands her meaning but does not read the pain in her eyes. It is time for her to do this on her own...
Watching the two manns leave swiftly through slitted eyes Mist takes deep breaths, knowing this contraction will soon be over, leaving her in relative peace until the next one. This will, however not be long, for as she told her mate and the Dragga, her pups are ready to be born. Sighing in relief and lowering her head to her paws to store up her energy the laboring mother is relieved to hear a familiar howl, asking directions to the den. It is Krystal! The Ge-radian had made it, and Mist has full trust in Chayton that he will get her here as soon as possible if Krystal finds no other way of discovering the whereabouts of the birthing den.

Chayton was surpised that the moment was coming so swiftly. Allready Mist was ushering him from the den so she could give birth. Wit h a quick nuzzle he crawled from the small den. He gave Chalos an anxious look, it was nice to not only have the Dragga around, but also another male. He did however worry that Mist might've liked having a nother female around, perhaps someone who knew sometrhing about what was going on. But his worries were broken by the call of Krystal. Wanting to answer the call and help Krystal he knew he could not leave. But perhaps another Deorian had heard and was assisting the Ge-radian as he thought. Hopefully that what was going on since Krystal was indeed going to be the godmother of the pups and would be needed at the birthing.
Chayton glanced up towards the heavens, the sky was growing somewhat darker, though it was only afternoon. He wondered if a storm would come, maybe rain would pelt the land and fill the rivers and streams, allowing him to bring fish to his beloved. She would probably be hungry soon, he would probably need to bring a couple of fish to her. She would need all the strength she could get, the pups would be nursing for a while, blind deaf and mostly numb to the world. They would stay hidden, and of course they would have to be moved to the bigger den as they got older. He couldn't help but smile at the thought of raising the pups, teaching them to love Deor just like he and Mist did, especially Mist. This was her home and she loved it dearly.
Looking towards the direction the howl had come from Chayton wondered if Krystal was on her way. He hoped so, he didn't want to leave Mist, but he also wanted Krystal to be here as soon as was possible. For a moment he thought about taking off to find her, but he couldn't just leave Mist, he hoped that another Deorian had found Krystal, she hadn't let out a nother howl, so perhaps it was true. Surely she wouldn't still be standing there waiting, she knew what a hurry she was in, so if no one had come she would've called again.
Becoming anxious just waiting around, knowing that the moment was fast approaching. He began to pace slowly, passing by the den's openeing, not enough to distract Mist, but he was nervous. Suppose something bad would happen? It was perfectly possible to lose a pup during birth. But the gods wouldn't do that would they? Shaking his head he tried to stop his pacing.

Unbeknownst to the bi-colored fae, clouds above steadily began to collect themselves and gather origination. At the moment, they were not too much of a threat to the sun god, but time could very well change that. The clouds had a keen and expert like way of moving silently and stealth fully to the ignorant eye. For the time being, Krystal’s optics remained ignorant to such change. Her focus was that of reaching Mist, of fulfilling her promise. Krystal held her spot after announcing her presence in the lands of Deor. She panted heavily, exhaustion threatening to ensnare the Ge-Radian, and tempt her into resting her weary form. On nothing but pure will, she pushed the thought aside. If no one came soon, Krystal would be forced to howl once more, or simply trek on in hopes of bumping into a Deorian. As luck would have it, such a Deorian nearly collided into the former Zanguzen. Fatigue chained Krystal’s ebon paws to the grass, and she was thankful that the oncoming femme had managed to avoid a near certain collision. The fae who presented herself to Krystal was none other then the Drappa of Deor, Lucivar. Her head and tail were held high in dominance, making it clear to Krystal of her status. Like a potent perfume, the scent of Deor’s trees and lands were easily detected by the Ge-Radian’s nares.
In a show of respect, Krystal lowered her own tail, and dipped her head to the Drappa. “Thank you, Drappa of Deor. But I’m not lost… to an extent…” Krystal spoke, her voice a mixture of pants and weariness. “Mist invited me to witness the birth of her pups, I’m to be there god-mother. I hope I made it in time.” The bi-colored fae certainly wasn’t expecting to be escorted by the Drappa of Deor herself, but it meant that there would be no doubt, Krystal would arrive safely. Adrenalin pumped through her veins, perhaps stirred by Lucivar’s last words. The urgency of arriving as quickly as possible was the highest priority, and it was at that moment, something unexpected occurred for Krystal. Her optics, once bi-hued in sapphire and emerald, flashed a brilliant green. But just as quickly, her eyes returned to there normal color. This was a result of strain the former Zanguzen had put on her body. “I understand, the faster the better!” Krystal spoke. She could feel her limbs become light once more. The blood of her lineage gave Krystal one last boost of stamina, she would need every ounce of it to trek the last length of her journey. “Don’t worry about me, I will keep up.” Krystal continued. Determination now filled her lyrics, as she was ready to give the last of her reserves to reach her destination. Krystal shook her self a bit in an attempt to psych herself up for the oncoming spring to the birthing grounds, and then waited for Lucivar to lead the way.

[Umm.. Quick and very scattered. Apologies.]
With a nod and a handsome smile, the massive Dragga pulled his head back out of Mist's birthing den. "I shall stay close by, lovely Beta, ready to take off at any request." Things seemed normal and natural enough - she wasn't howling in pain that was not supposed to be there and that was good enough for him. Piercing sage eyes turned to Chayton, another smile being cast at the blue-and-bleach Mann, this one more sympathetic. If he were the father, he would want to remain in the den, curled around Mist, muzzle snug against her neck in sheer love and amazement of the feat she would soon undergo. It would be a terrible thing to be kicked out of a mate's birthing den. With a sudden realisation, Chalos worried to himself that perhaps Lucivar would kick him out as well, when the time came. Would she? Their love for one another was strong, yet Mist's and Chayton's seemed strong as well.. Perhaps Lucivar would be more benevolent.
A questioning howl rose on the wind, a howl whose voice was not of Deor. Thick hackles stuck up like hundreds of spikes along his mane and spine, How dare anyone invade my lands on the day of Mist's labour?! His lips curled as the thought danced around in his mind.. Today would be a day when most of Deor would worry about Mist, when the packlands would be nearly deserted. Whoever the tresspasser was, they knew Mist. They were clever. But as his perked-in-alert ears listened closer, the howl was one of direction - a shewolf wished to find them. His own voice surged through Deor, strident and commanding, in turn telling whoever was with this female and anyone else who wished to join the small gathering the exact area they could find Deor on this most important of days.
Feeling quite pleased with himself, the snow-flecked rump fell, black rear making contact with the soft ground in an elegant sitting position. Yet again, his eyes moved to Chayton. "All will be well, young wolf," Chalos murmured, probably more to comfort himself than anything. During his many weeks of solitude, the male looked more intelligent, more refined. He'd spent many a day without food, simply pondering the ways of the world, waking to each and every sunrise either discovering or realising something new. Knowledge shone bright and clever in his gentle features, both occuli containing myriad facts and theories. Of everything he'd learned, however, the Deorian alpha knew nothing of birth. In fact, he wished Lucivar were here now, here to comfort Mist's labour, ease her through the birth, reassure the two nervous males who paced outside of her den. She would surely have heard his call, he thought, and knew that it was only a matter of moments before she would appear to save them all, as she had so many times before.

“A god-mother, oh how lovely, you must be so proud. Well then Krystal, we should be off, and quickly now.” The tri-toned fae immediately turned, facing the direction that the were to be traveling. Her body tensed momentarily and soon she was gliding forward, her body moving like liquid over the ground, leading the Ge-Radian to the birthing den, hopefully she was right in trusting the black and white bi-optic wolf. But what would Ge-Rad want with Mist’s pups if only to nurture them as well?
A familiar voice came into hearing soon, leading them just as Lucivar was beginning to doubt her direction, though she was happy to know that she just had a slight adjustment to make and that she and Krystal would be there soon. His voice made her heart flutter, Chalos her mate was there. Before her, yes but she had been slightly further from the birthing den then he, so it was rather predictable - actually, Lucivar didn’t know where he’d been before, in fact she was rather frustrated that he’d been off hiding for so long. “Not far now Krystal.” Her own smooth tones drifted to the fae behind her, and her icy blue gaze glanced back to make sure the she-wolf was still there.
And soon, as she had said it wasn’t far, she was bounding through a bush that led right to the peaceful little gathering. She paused off to the side to let Krystal come through as well and she viewed who was at the little gather. Chayton, whom she did not know so well, and Chalos.
Right away she stepped forward to her mate, nuzzling his chest and giving his muzzle an affectionate lick. “How far along is Mist?” She asked both the males here as she now turned and dipped her muzzle to Chayton, honoring the father-to-be and giving him a kind and comforting smile, having been the former Nurse - and she supposed current one since another had not stepped up to the plate yet - the males could relax, she knew what she was doing. She was sure that Mist could hear her voice, as she not spoken too softly and had demanded the information quite bluntly.

Two fae’s moved gracefully through the lands of Deor. One, a Drappa of her lands who navigated the terra with precision in her step, and the other, an ebony and ivory Ge-Radian whose light steps and quickness kept up perfectly with the Deorian Drappa. Together they navigated and weaved around the world of Deor’s forest. As Lucivar had said moments ago, Krystal was indeed honored in being chosen by Mist to be god-mother to her pups. She could feel the strain and tension begin to build as they dashed toward a destination to which only the Drappa knew. There would be no avoiding the fatigue forever though, and this fact the former Zanguzen knew. Eventually, her body would no longer be able to keep up with the will that moved the Ge-Radian, but not here, not until the bi-hued fae arrived safely at the birth site.
A how cut through the terra just at that moment. Powerful and masculine with its tone and strength, there was no doubt that it belonged to Chalos, the Dragga of Deor. His voice called out with support and guidance. To Lucivar’s response, Krystal in turned replied. “That’s good.” She said, thankful to at last be at the end of her journey. Her bi-hued gaze met Lucivar’s, reassuring her that she wouldn’t quit, no matter the cost. Krystal made it this far, in record time that only few could achieve. At last, the brush cleared, revealing a small gathering of Deorian Vargs. Chalos was the first to come into view. His powerful form stood as the beacon of Deor’s strength. And yet, such power held a great kindness, displayed by the affection he and his mate shared with each other.
After giving Lucivar and Chalos enough time to greet each other, Krystal stepped toward them. Her tail and head hung low in respect as she spoke. “Thank you…” Krystal spoke, exhaustion dragged out her words, weighed down heavily by the fatigue that plagued their owner. “…for allowing me… to attend…” But where was Chayton and Mist? Krystal’s gaze scanned the scene before her, and she quickly found the den in which housed the mother and father to be. She approached it cautiously, making sure to keep some distance between herself and the den. “Mist! It’s me Krystal! I’m here dear friend, just like I promised!” Two things kept the bi-colored fae glued to her spot. Respect for the space Mist would need to bring her pups to the world, and the exhaustion that plagued Krystal so forcefully, she could no longer move.

Though she wishes that Chayton could be present for the actual birth Mist knows that this is how it is done. The pain of labor and the disorientation she will feel during it could cause her to do something she would never otherwise do and cause injury to herself and the cubs. Sighing she returns her mate's anxious nuzzle and watches him leave the den, hoping with all her heart that Krystal or Lucivar or Cagalli... or someone, will come soon. She has never given birth before and has only seen it once, and now does not want to be alone for the experience. Krystal is on her way, the searching howl has made that evident, but the pups are on their way as well, and are on their own time, not planning to wait for anyone. Nodding respectfully at Chalos as he hastily withdraws she cannot help but be amused at his courteous words, thinking that at this moment she is probably anything but lovely, and that it is not likely she will have any request for the Dragga. As another wave of pain flows through her she bites back a low growl, thinking that at least she knows having pups will certainly be worth all this...
Her thoughts go to them unknown number of cubs preparing to be born and she mentally speaks softly to them, thinking that this is probably not a pleasant experience for them either. Thinking soothing thoughts she tries to relax but is hit again by another contraction. Moments later it is over and she hears the business-like but gentle voice of Deor's Drappa, Lucivar. Sighing softly but heavily in relief she barks wordlessly, telling the former nurse that she is needed. A moment later a varg comes cautiously into the den, but it is not Lucivar, but another looked-for fae, the pups soon-to-be godmother, Krystal. "Krystal! You made it! Thank T..." Her words are cut off by more pain and she clamps her jaw down tightly, concentrating on her breathing. After a moment she looks back up at her friend and smiles wearily. "No need to look like that, dear... you may come in. It isn't long now, and I'd like you to be here..."
It seems that Tor has not ceased to bless the shadowy fae for just then Lucivar comes in, just as the first birth begins... A while later there are five tiny varg cubs at the new mother's side, four faemmes and a mann. The first born a black fae with creamy light grey, almost white socks on her forepaws, the second also a fae with light silver fur and a dark, ash-colored blase down her nose and the same color gracing the tips of her ears. The third a small mann, completely creamy white, the color of his father. The fourth and last is another fae, black with small bits of white fur on her stomach.
As the process is completely finished Mist looks at her newborn children with ecstatic joy, her heart seeming to almost overflow with pride and amazement. She gently nuzzles them all with the tip of her muzzle and moves the tiniest fae closer to her. Tearing her eyes away from the wonderful sight she looks up at her two friends, a beaming smile on her face. "Thank you, Luci, Krys... will you..." Pausing a moment she glances at the den entrance and smiles softly again. "...tell Chayton he has five beautiful children?"
((EDIT: We now have another pup. His name is Ryu, the white mann in the post. I know this was a rather choppy post with a significant Timejump in it, but I couldn't think of another, better way to do it and didn't want to go through another round of posts with people just sitting around waiting. Thanks for understanding!))

The gathering party had become somewhat quiet once Mist had ushered them from the den, and Chayton and Chalos were left to wait outside, wondering how the mother to be was doing. Chayton looked to Chalos to see his sympathetic smile, true Chayton would've preferred to stay in the den with Mist, there was always something about the father not being present during the actual birthing, all vargs seemed to do it this way. Although he did not understand this tradition he respected Mist's wishes, seeing as she was the one going to be giving birth.
It wasn't long till Krystal and Luciver joined, thankful that Krystal was here, and Luciver, having experience as a nurse Chayton felt a little less anxious. But as time passed he couldn't help but become stressed, he tried to stay calm, but the lack of any notice of what was going on made him anxious, what was there to do? Stand around and wait, he didn't want to just do that, he wanted to be informed, but such was not the case. It seemed that time passed slowly as the two manns waited outside. Chayton's auds rested against his cranium as he waited. But it wouldn't be too long before the mann would be informed, but curiousity was slowly begining to bug him. "Is everything all right down there?" He called, not venturing any closer but raising his voice so they could hear him. His thoughts began to overcome his head, he would have pups to teach to fish, he and Mist would teach them about the mighty Putnar, they would teach them about Deor, and then the pups would learn how to hunt. He had never really thought about it before, but raising pups would be hard, there was a lot to do, and in the coming days and weeks and months he would have to bring Mist food so she could nurse the pups and still have energy for herself, it would be a lot of resting for her. He would be doing a lot, but there was nothing he woudln't do for his mate, for his love. He was blessed to have her and these pups once they were born.
