The night was peaceful not a sound in the air but the chirping of crickets and other musical insects, stars shone brightly above the forest twinkling joyously for they seemed to know something others did not. A lost and broken daughter was returning to the forests and in her step was a new hope her head held high in confidence, in hope, in pride, in defiance of the evil that plagued her, and most of all in anticipation for tonight she would let all her faults go beg for forgiveness for her sins and live once more. She came to realize these feelings while running away from her past, her present and new future, now she felt bad for her actions and their consequences one which was the fact she missed her mothers birthing. "I'll make amends here and now" Strong tanned legs carried her thin, sleek, and shining body through the trees arriving at the Deor boundary, coming to a halt just for a moment she howled, a strong call to Mist letting her know that she was home.
She continued to run through her homelands toward the dens hoping for any sign of her, light brown eyes sparkled just like the stars above her, if she were to run any faster she felt as if she could leap into the skies and fly toward her mother, a varg she loved and respected more then anything because in honesty she was the one who first greeted her in Deor, taught her to hunt and loved her. Cagalli had never known the love of a mother until she met Mist for in her past Cagalli's birth mother died and when adopted before the fae gave birth to a litter of her own cubs and chased Cagalli away. She came to a halt once more panting looking around herself and smiled flopping to the ground in exhaustion "I'm finally home...." she thought as she looked to the heavens and thanked them for returning her here safely, she waited in the silence of the night for any form of varg to join her whether it'd be her children or her mother or newly found father Chayton. "I'm home" she whispered this time before turning her head to the ground laying it upon her forelegs. This girls wild heart was finally tamed and she was feeling like the heavens could wait many many years before she was running in them with her brother and daughter. Though her heart still ached at the thought of Salem and Acheron she still kept strong for they would not allow her to become sad anymore, she had to be strong for her remaining pups and her new siblings here on earth in the wonderful Deor pack. Her body shuddered as a cool breeze ruffled the fur but she ignored it too intent on watching a head of her for any sign of someone she knew, while waiting she drifted off into a restless sleep within the walls of her mind a nightmare gripped her of her past, being chased by that fae that didn't want her anymore because she had cubs of her own now. Suddenly she heard a snap of a twig and shot her head up quickly looking around hoping she was awake and not in her nightmare world anymore, but something whispered to her that she was fine, she was okay whatever was coming toward her was not going to harm her, not now.

The night sky is a blue velvet cloak, almost black but Tor's light and the light of the stars give off enough light so the blackness is not complete, leaving the sky looking soft and velvety. As Mist looks up at Tor's shining face she sighs softly. The sigh is not sorrowful - at this point in her life there is little the fae could ask for. If one was to ask what one thing she could realistically have that she does not, she would reply with no hesitation. The one thing that is missing from her life is the presence of her eldest daughter. Though she is adopted Cagalli is no less close to the twilight colored fae than her own blood pups. Glancing behind her at the dens Mist knows that her pups will be fine for at least a couple hours without her. They had been sleeping between Chayton and her when she had gotten up to breathe the night air, and by now will have snuggled up against him. Smiling with all the heartfelt pride of a mother at the picture she feels a fluttery feeling inside her as she thinks about her family. Sighing again she pads slowly and silently away from the den, thinking that she will be back in a short while.
A moment later a strong howl comes swiftly to her on the night breeze and a smile breaks out on Mist's face. It seems she has been blessed once again - Cagalli is back. With a thought to reassure herself that her pups will be completely fine she springs forward toward the origin of the sound, realizing that it is coming from the border she veers off slightly to her left, knowing that her daughter will not stay at the border, but come into the packlands. She bounds gracefully over the well-known territory, her fleet paws taking her ever closer to her daughter. Pausing as Cagalli's scent comes to her on the gusting breeze Deor's new beta pads forward, smiling at the sight of her daughter as she gets the feeling that everything is truly going to be alright. There is something about the other fae's stance, even in the dark that is obviously more hopeful and determined. She must be distracted for her paw goes down on a twig with a snap, disturbing the quiet night,
Shaking her head slightly at the sound Mist continues forward until she comes within a few paces of her daughter. The twig had alerted Cagalli to her presence and the lovely fae is looking at her. Smiling the twilight colored fae takes the remaining steps forward and nuzzles Cagalli gently, looking her over to make sure she is completely alright, and after a moment sits beside her, smiling, her eyes dancing in joy. "That's my girl..." She says softly, not completely sure what she means, but putting much feeling into the three words, conveying her message that way.

Cagalli's tail wagged slightly seeing Mist coming toward her from the area where the twig had snapped, light brown eyes shone brighter then ever as a familiar varg entered her sights, the tri-hued female tried to lift her tired body from the ground but couldn't find the strength to but then saw that Mist was right next to her so she laid there, When her mother nuzzled her Cagalli took in her scent and smiled, feeling as if she could go back and remember when she first took in the scent of her mother as a cub just new to Deor's lands, small, fearful, and very shy she never thought that anyone would accept her let alone adopt her into their family. She was grateful for that, as Mist spoke the words entered the vargs fawn ears and she lowered her head lightly brushing Mist's chest like a pup would when gaining attention from their parent.
"I'm home mother" she still kept her voice low, not wanting to wake the rest of the pack though knowing her howl might of, but she wanted Mist to know that this time she was home for good and nothing would change that now, nothing could bring her away from this place or her family. It' wasn't easy to accept herself like Mist had when she adopted Cagalli but now with the time given on her voyage Cagalli now understood what it was to be strong and in control of herself "I'm so sorry mother, I shouldn't of left like I did..."

Sitting next to her eldest daughter once more Mist could almost imagine it was soon after she had adopted the younger fae. Her memories take her back to that time when Cagalli was small and young, hardly older than a cub; shy and quiet, but eager to learn the skills of a grown varg. Back then Mist had not even met Chayton and it had possibly not even crossed her mind that one day she would have pups of her own. It seems her heart was made for loving - many, strongly, and well. When she learned that she was going to have cubs with Chayton, she still viewed Cagalli as a daughter, and still does. Smiling thankfully she sends up a silent prayer of thanksgiving to Tor, having heard of times when faes banished adopted cubs when they had their own. Fortunately this was not the way it happened for her and so she didn't lose her beloved daughter through a lack of love.
Feeling Cagalli's tired head brush against her chest like a daughter searching for attention or comfort Mist's memories free her into the present and she lowers her head to fondly lick her daughter on the maw. The silence in the short moments that follow is broken by the tri-hued fae's soft voice as she speaks, her feelings evident in her words. Nodding slowly Mist smiles and sighs softly with happiness. "Yes, you're home... I missed you, my darling." She keeps her voice low for something of the same reason, though they are not far from the dens they are probably far enough that they can speak in normal voices and not have to worry about waking Chayton. They cubs won't wake unless there are loud noises. They are still young enough that they spend quite a bit of their time sleeping and don't wake easily unless someone tries to wake them up.
There is something else that makes her speak softly. This is a moment that she has wished she could have for a long time, and only a soft voice can even come close to telling her feelings of happiness and completeness. At Cagalli's next words the grey beta leans her head down again and shakes her head slowly. "Shh, you are back, Calli, darling... and that is what matters. Any forgiveness I had to give you was immediate. I am in no place to judge or not forgive. You are too important to me and I love you too much to spend part of my life not loving you as much as I can."
((OOC: it's alright! I hope you're feeling better! *hughug* It's good to have you back. Hmm, is calling you Calli ok with you? I just thought I'd see...))

She smiled, closing her tired eyes for a moment taking in everything around her, Mist's comforting voice filling her ears and she felt the world melt away to the safe, loving, comfort of her mother. "I-I missed you too mother...." she re-opened her eyes to look up at Mist and continued to smile, something she had to do more, she had many gifts to smile for, her children, her mother, and her home, for without these things Cagalli surely would be lost. After the death of Acheron which fell shortly after Salem-her older brother and Lajos, she felt like not even Mist could save her from her mind.
Soon she speaks again and tells the tri-hued fae of how much she loved her, even giving her a better nickname then what Lajos had given and she pretty much would stick to it. Her heart soared at the words, something she needed to hear for herself and let them drift through her mind like the rivers currents and if she could cry tears of joy she would of "Thank you mother.....for everything"
((Ah sooo short, sorry! and I love the nickname hehe ^^))

The joys of being a mother are unparalleled in any other field. It is not that there is not wonderful joy in other things, but motherhood is something that cannot be accurately put into words. Looking down at her daughter Mist can't help but smile in simple, pure happiness. After a few silent moments she glances over her shoulder back toward the dens. "We don't have to go yet - they'll be sleeping for a long while yet, but I'm so happy, you have sisters and a brother to meet, Calli! I know they'll love you, they're all wonderful - Ryu seems to be the..." pausing she tilts her head in amusement and has to think of the right word before continuing "...the terror of the litter. He's got a lot of energy and curiosity, and doesn't fail to use it." Laughing softly she nuzzles her daughter again. "You'll have to help me keep him in line. The others - Rayen, Key, Delilah, and Eponine are all somewhat quieter, but they all have their quirks. I suppose being the only mann in the litter gave Ryu most of the mischieviosness."
Sighing happily she looks down at Cagalli's face, and sees her expression. She doesn't say anything, but in that glance realizes how hard it must have been for the younger fae, and how good it is that she returned home. It is not good to be out in the wilds with no one to find comfort in when it is needed. At Cagalli's soft words Mist nods gently and smiles. "What are mothers for, dear? I'll always be here for you." After a moment more of silence she adds something to make the feelings somewhat lighter. "In return you have to help me with your little sisters and brother." Her eyes dance as she thinks of the future ahead of them - with Cagalli back and Fenni soon to follow, it will be what they remember for the rest of their lives...
((it's alright! I'm the one who's a slacker - sorry it took so long! And yay! I'm glad you like the nicname. I have a friend named Calli, and thought it fit you ))

Cagalli's ears perked forward listening to her mothers words carefully, being she was a tad tired now from the whole run. Her mind and body were calming down, but luckily for her they were calming down slowly, still she didn't feel as exhausted as she should of. Smiling as Mist explains of her new brother Ryu's character, she knew as well that things were looking up for her, though the recent disappearance of Diyasa worried her she wouldn't express it tonight for this was after all a joyous event.
"I'd love to help out mother, if you need me just howl and I'll be there to help watch the pups" she smiled wagging her tail again. This would be much like raising her own four pups but not doing as much work for she now would act like a babysitter a common job for older siblings., though she was nervous of this sudden task "But am I a good enough influence on them? I don't even think I was good enough for my own children....three are gone" but two remained and she would have to do her best for Atrus and Fenore, and now to help her siblings as well. "I'll do my best" with those words came a promise to her mother, her siblings, and her own remaining children, that no matter what came their way she'd be there for them.

//OOC: I got permission to join this thread.//
The night time environment that fell over the lands homed by Deor resembled that of a gentle river. Each moment of passing flowed gently like the easy waters of a tranquil stream, accompanied by the gentle ensemble of birds and other Lera still about during Tor’s reign. The passive goddess watched the terra before her with a gentle luminous gaze, casting a cool glow of ivory brilliance on what ever the light touched. Aside from a periodic cool breeze that reminded any living creature of the oncoming presence of an approaching winter, the night couldn’t have been more perfect. A rare gift by the goddess, for times in the near future would very well prove to be quite treacherous for all creatures. Including the mighty putnar, who would suffer the season’s worse comings, such as shortage of food, and drop of temperature. A dangerous time for a litter of cubs still freshly born, and only just beginning their life.
On this night, a guest of Deor wandered the forests to which Deorian’s called home. Having been given permission to stay as a guest by Deor’s Drappa, Lucivar, Krystal spent much of her time in the assistance of raising Chayton and Mist’s new litter. The Ge-Radian was happy to help in any way she could, often time keeping Mist company as Chayton went on to hunt for his new off spring. At times Krystal would assist the ivory, blue streaked male, but more favored the company of her dear friend, and the tiny squeals of new life. An ebon and ivory form silently walked the paths of Deor, thoughts of the happiness that illuminated Chayton and Mist’s future filled her mind’s eye. Never had the bi-colored femme seen a happier pair of Vargs, and she was ecstatic for the two Deorians. In Krystal’s mind, Tor couldn’t have picked a better couple to bless with a finer litter, and way of life.
A howl broke the silence of the night, clearly heard by the Ge-Radian scout, along with any other creature that so happened to be awake at this hour. Forgetting for a moment where she was, Krystal’s instincts took hold of the fae, and she instantly went in pursuit of the song’s owner. A normal duty performed by the bi-hued scout in the land of Ge-Rad, her paws filled the roll of the reconnoiter, and an inquisitive and curious mind caused ebon paws too carry the former Zanguzen on a course that would eventually land Krystal in presence of two fae’s, both of Deor blood. One Krystal recognized as Mist, the beautiful mother of a proud litter of puppies, and Beta of the land. The other however, Krystal did not recognize. Like many wolves, the curse installed by the gods Fenris and Tor caused their children to forget, and the bi-hued fae although having met Cagalli in the past, did not recognize her now, at least not right away. “Is everything ok Mist?” Krystal asked, worried that something may endanger her friend.

Hearing Cagalli's promise to help Mist smiles at her eldest daughter, realizing that she will probably need it in the near future, especially when the cubs start getting bigger and more curious, not being content to simply stay within their parents' sight. The grey beta knows this will come soon as she remembers being small and curious herself as a pup. Shaking her head slowly in fond remembrance she thinks back on what trouble makers she and her brothers were. With two brothers - one older and one younger - she had to keep up, and in doing so definitely developed a sense of adventure and curiosity. Ryu certainly got some of this trait from her, and it doesn't help that Chayton has such a playful side. Eventually though, the cubs will grow up and even Ryu will lose some of his rowdiness. This thought causes the proud mother to tilt her head, realizing she needs to treasure every moment with her cubs, for they will grow up faster than she could know.
Winking at Cagalli she smiles. "I have a feeling I'll take you up on that, Calli. But don't worry, it won't be too often. Maybe Fenni would come play with her... young aunts and uncle some time. Goodness, we really should just call them cousins or something. It is an odd situation." At her daughter's quiet question her smile fades and her eyes hold some sadness in them. Nuzzling the younger fae she replies softly. "Oh, yes, you are a good influence on them. You have done no wrong. I wish I knew what words would comfort you, but I just want you to know that I do not believe it was your fault. Life can be hard, but you came through the hard times. You came back to me darling, and are ready to continue on and be strong for yourself and your family. That is what counts. We all have a time to die, and I firmly believe - I'd even go so far as to say I know - that after death we will see our loved ones again. It is for them that we must stay strong and fight past the dark times in our lives, for there are always times like that, but we must look for the light and not give in to the dark. You are strong, and I will always be here for you. Yes darling. That's all I ask, that you try to do your best. I will do the same." After that speech she knows that she must stay strong, she must do all she is asking of her daughter.
After a few moments a gust of wind brings a familiar scent to her, and so she is prepared for the appearance of her dear friend Krystal. The grey beta watches the direction that the scent came from and smiles as the lovely form of the Ge-Radian comes into view. At her friend's anxious question Mist nods. "Yes, everything is wonderful Krys." She pauses for a moment, trying to remember if she knows if Krystal and Cagalli have met. Not remembering for sure she realizes that Krystal probably would have said something if she knows Cagalli. "Krys, this is my adopted daughter, Cagalli. She was gone from Deor for a while, but has now come back for good." The joy in her golden eyes is evident as they sparkle, only some of the light in them coming from the sun. "Cagalli, this is my dearest friend Krystal. She is a Ge-Radian and the godmother of your sisters and brother..."
((OOC: erg, a rather abrupt ending, but I couldn't think of anything else to put that would smooth it out... I hate introductions, they seem rather cheesy. I wish there was a better way to do it... ))

She looked confused for a moment, something inside her told her that she had met this bi-hued fae before but where and when was lost to her. She was a good friend of her mothers considering that she was the godmother of her siblings., Calli sat up being polite to the Ge-Radian and then something clicked in her memory, when she was still wandering from Deor and hoping to find her mate in her journeys. A snowy night just after catching a meal she rested in a den where a lone fae asked to join and share the meal, remembering then that this was the same fae only she's not a kerl but a proud pack member.
She also recalled Krystal from the time when she entered Deor to build the bond the two alliance packs shared, and must of stayed after the birth of Mist's pups "It is nice to see you again Krystal" her soft voice filled with the joy of being surrounded by a friend and family member, this night was prefect and she was happy to return home where she would now serve a new purpose as a pupsitter for Mist "Anytime mother, I will be ready to tend to them"

Upon listening to the lyrics of the gray beta and allowing each word to intricately fall into place, Krystal felt her tension fade away from once it came. Clearly there was no danger and threat, and so the Ge-Radian allowed a more pleasant demeanor to settle. Bi-hued pools of sapphire and emerald now gazed at the tri hued faemme with tranquility and a sense of peace. “Cagalli…” Krystal’s mind tasted the name like a fine wine, as if deciphering a flavor once lost in time. A few faint memories stirred and the bi-colored fae indeed recalled the Deorian to some extent. “I believe Cagalli and I have met before.” Krystal said as she too took a seat on the soft grass that cushioned the fae. Her ebon tail swayed elegantly as she spoke soft and supple words. “I’m sorry for not recognizing you earlier. I should have known better, you have your mother’s beauty.”
With that said, Krystal turned her lyrics towards the gray beta. Deor and Ge-Rad were in many ways similar. The family ties held by the pack resembled the strength of the mountain, impervious and impenetrable from all tests and trials that could be conceived. “It’s true Mist, Cagalli helped me during a very difficult time in my Kerl days. I’m eternally grateful for the kindness she showed me.” It was evident to the Ge-Radian just where Cagalli had picked up her gentle ways. Like mother like daughter as the old saying goes and Krystal herself was a huge testament to that. Just one question now remained. The night was still young, and there was plenty for three faemme’s to do. “So what now?” Krystal asked with a hint of curiosity and wonder in her tone. “Tor’s twilight is still young.”

Looking from one fae to the other Mist smiles and wags her tail slowly behind her. Beloved daughter, beloved friend - truly she is blessed to have such wonderful faes in her life. Her ebony-tipped ears prick as both Krystal and Calli slowly recognize each other and she smiles again. This is even better. The two know each other. They have more similarities than had at first met the eye. They are both strongly tied to Mist and to the Deor pack - one the daughter and older sister of the grey beta's pups, and the other their godmother. Hearing the story of how they had first met the fae nods slowly, pleased that from the very beginning they have had reason to be friends. As Krystal compliments Cagalli, Mist smiles, thinking how Calli is practically no different than she would have been if she had been her blood daughter. To a friend they even have somewhat similar features.
Smiling again as her dear friend turns to her to further explain the story of their meeting Mist nods in understanding. Looking at Calli and then back to Krystal she replies. "She has always been wonderful to me as well. I do believe you have a heart made for loving, Calli." She says this last looking proudly at her daughter. "When Chayton and I decided to become mates, you welcomed him openly and warmly. I truly am grateful for that, darling." Leaning toward her daughter the grey fae nuzzles her softly. "And I'm sure you'll love your sisters and brother, and they will love you completely as well." Just before this had come her daughter's affirmation of willingness to watch the pups and Mist smiles again, nodding her graceful head. "Thank you, darling. I imagine I'll be wanting help from time to time..."
Turning to Krystal as the ebon and ivory fae speaks, Mist glances sideways in the direction of the dens. "I cannot go far, Krys. Once the pups are older, yes, but for now I should stay within calling distance in case they need me. And Calli has had a long day, and a long journey. We could just stay here and talk. There is much to talk about - we have not been together in so long... How much longer do you think you'll be able to stay here Krys? I know I'm taking you away from your duties guarding Ge-Rad..."

Calli smiled and nodded to Krystal "Do not worry Krystal, I have grown since then in many ways" she smiled up at Mist after hearing Krystal speak of her looking just like Mist there was nothing more that she could want then to be of Mist's blood but her mother treated her as if she were. Her heart swelled she couldn't of been any happier then to be surrounded by her dearest friend and her mother, the tri-hued fae listened carefully to her mother speak, she smiled and nuzzled Mist back.
She nodded hearing Mist speak of needing help sometime in the future when the pups were a little older, having cared for a litter of her own she would know what to do. Thoughts of her own pups flowed into her mind and she frowned hearing that now dear Fenore wanted to go out on her own and live her own life one that did not include the Deorian family she had grown in. Perhaps the deaths of her father, sister and brother had drove her to these conclusions, shaking her head lightly she stood and stretched out "We may not be able to go far, but let us find something to entertain ourselves" she looked from her mother to her dear friend both had been an important role in her life and she couldn't be more grateful, she was truly a varg blessed with many gifts and she wouldn't let Lajos take it away from her again.
[So sorry of the lateness and the lameness of this !]
