The tip of Mist's dark grey tail wags incontrollably, showing her happiness as she is nuzzled by Cagalli, smiling, she returns the affectionate gesture. After a moment, she replies to the young fae's words. "I will try my hardest to always deserve that respect, dear one." She looks up at the now high, bright moon and then back at her companion. "Now we really should get to the dens, it is getting late, and the air is growing chilly. Come." She starts off again, making sure that Cagalli follows. Looking back, her eyes glowing golden in the dim light, she pauses for a moment, waiting for Cagalli. "Are you warm enough, Cagalli?"

Cagalli smiled and nodded "For the moment yes, I am...but my coat isn't all that thick yet its starting to sink in" she kept close to Mist as she lead her toward the dens. The she-cub almost howled with delight as her first night in Deor was for sure now to never be her last. This was her home with her mother Mist and her family of Deorian vargs nothing would change it. This was her true place, no one would pull her away. Her heart was bound here and her loyalties tied to Deor and Mist.

In the deep darkness before dawn, a silent, dark shape moves steathily through the woods. There is suddenly a rustle and a sharp squeak as the shape, revealed to be a grey fae, severs a rabbit's spine in the back of it's neck, causing it instant, painless death. Licking the warm blood from her muzzle, Mist glances up at the lightening sky before picking up the limp form of the rabbit in her powerful jaws and trotting back to the pack dens.
Reaching the familiar cave just ahead of the morning sunlight, Mist pads softly over towards her newly adopted daughter and sets the rabbit down a few inches from Cagalli's nose. Smiling, Mist gently nuzzles the young fae to wake her. "Good morning, young one. I have something to show you today, and I've brought breakfast..." She sits down quietly and watches Cagalli wake, the familiar smile playing on her muzzle.

Ebony black nose twiched at the scent of breakfast as fawn ears twiched at the familar voice of her adopted mother, opening her eyes she sat up and yanwned the fur on top of her head stuck out from sleeping. Her eyes bright and alert even though she had just woken up. At the sound of an adventure she wagged her tail excitent about the day they would face, as mother and daughter.
"I can't wait..." her voice was alert as she spoke happily also having a hint of wonder in her voice staring at the rabbit she took a bite enjoying the taste of the food. It'd been a while since she had a decent meal, never been one for hunting the she-cub wagged her tail. "What is it you want to show me mother?" it was new calling Mist 'mother' but none the less fulfilling. She enjoyed spending time with her and now that Mist had adopted the tri-hued cub she would remain calling her 'mother'

Eyes dancing happily, Mist watches her newly-adopted daughter eat the still-warm rabbit. At Cagalli's question, she pauses a moment before answering. "It is a place where I used to go with my brothers when I was a cub. I have many wonderful memories of it, and want to share it with you, so you can remember it fondly when you are older." She stops and smiles before continuing. "Alright, enough said. You must see it for yourself, and then we can talk more about it." She nods her head towards the rabbit and speaks. "Finish your breakfast, and then we'll go."
A few moments later, the grey hued fae pads northwest, the warm morning sun shining on her back as she heads to the place of memories. Turning to look at her daughter, she smiles. "I wish you could meet my brothers. I know you would like them." She sighs and the smile fades slightly before coming back. "They would love the idea of having a neice. Especially my older brother, Falter... I'll tell you more about them sometime, and about my Mother. She was the Drappa of Deor for a long time, but eventually, after my father left, she just decided that it was too much for her to do alone. I haven't seen her since then..." Mist nuzzles her adopted daughter lovingly before continuing softly. "Don't worry, Cagalli. I will never leave you..."

Once finished Cagalli had joined Mist in the morning sunlight which warmed her fur from the chill of mornings mists. Her fawn ears cocked forward listening to Mist speak of her family noticing the changes her eyes took while speaking of the past then looking toward her future, the young tri-hued she-varg.
Cagalli wagged her tail and nuzzled into Mist "I know...and even when I grow old and have my own cubs...I'll never stop being yours and never leave your side" she smiled wagging her tail "Cubs promise!" she tried her best to cheer her mother up, she didn't want her to feel sad thinking harder with something to say she looked up thinking back to Mist explaining who her mother was "You must of been proud...I mean...to have your mother as the Drappa of a pack, and I'm sure I would of liked your brothers...my uncles as well" she wagged her tail slightly as they continued to walk. Excitement building in every step they took with the tri-hued vargs mind racing wondering what this place was and where.

Mist smiles gratefully at the young fae's words and the determined promise in her voice. Still looking ahead, imagining their destination, she answers softly. "I know, my dear... I'll never stop thinking of you as being mine, but do not bind yourself to my side. Yes, I will always want to be close to you, but when you grow older, you may think that at my side is a bit too close." She laughs softly. "But that won't be for a bit, and we'll always be close, so let's just enjoy the day, shall we?"
Mist continues on through the shady woods, passing old, knarled trees that she used to hide under when she was a cub playing hide-and-seek with her brothers. She smiles at the flood of memories of the past and at the happiness of the present and future. At the bottom of a ridge, she stops and looks at Cagalli, her eyes dancing. "It's just over this ridge. Are you ready?" She turns forward and pads up the hill, stopping again at the top. She looks away before seeing the place and waits for her adopted daughter to come to her side. Once she's there, Mist smiles again and turns to look at the same time as Cagalli, wanting to see it again as Cagalli sees it for the first time.
The sight below them unfolds as they look, revealing the river, winding like a snake and shining in the late morning sun. A magnificent waterfall roars and at the bottom the river splits in two, the smaller section forming into a crystal blue-green pool while the main part of the river follows its path down into distant lands. The area around the pool is green, coated with soft moss and part of it shaded by a huge, ancient oak tree. It's the perfect place for a hot summer afternoon, just enough sun and shade, and the calming noise of river and waterfall in the background, while the pool is a perfect size and depth for swimming with no fear of drowning.
Mist smiles happily at Cagalli's reaction, and then turns to look again at the beautiful spot.

Cagalli's eyes widen as her mouth is open a gape looking at the scene before her, looking around at everything she was in pure wonder at the sight unfolding before her. She began to pad down the hill feeling Mist following her, it was so beautiful and the scent fresh and clear. Her bushy tail wagged in the same tune as her body moved down the hill. Though she stopped to sniff here and there "This place is amazing mother"
She stopped looking at the waterfall almost entranced as it fell into the pool and down the river, and in a split second she was out of the trance and running playfully around near the water then back to Mist and to the water again. Her heart raced with joy and excitement the she-cub had never enjoyed herself this much....she came to rest by the tree flopping down and panting she waited for Mist to join her if she was going to. "This place is perfect....for almost everything!" she laughed rolling onto her back and staring over at her mother. <<Why oh why can't I get a decent post up?>>

Mist follows her adopted daughter slowly, watching intently, and smiling every once in a while at the expression on Cagalli's face, or the excited wiggle in her tail's movement. At the spoken words she nods and smiles. "I know... I wanted to share it with you so you could have some of the same memories of this place as I do."
The smile on her face widens as she watches Cagalli frolick playfully like a pup. As her daughter decides to rest under the tree, Mist pads over to sit next to her. "I expected you would love it... and I'm so happy that you do. How could anyone not?" She looks around, her eyes resting on the pool for a moment. "We should go swimming later, when it gets hotter? Don't you think so?"

Cagalli nodded "Yeah...how could anyone not like such a wonderful place!" she eyed the water long in her past she'd fallen in a river and had almost drowned being saved by her heart brother who was older and stronger then she was but there'd be many times other then that she'd swam and thought about it many times.
"Yeah...swimming sounds good...not now its still chilly for me" she smiled and could no long hide her excitment anymore and started frolicing once more in the green grass. It'd been such a long time since she felt this free, lowaring her front end and bounding back and fourth barking playfully at her mother as she did so. She pawed at Mist trying to get her to come and play with the she-cub.

Mist nods and grins at her daughter. "That's why I said we should swim later, silly." As she watches Cagalli frolic, she can't help but laugh in pure happiness, and as the young fae paws at her, encouragaing her to get up and play, she can't resist. Getting up swiftly, she surprises Cagalli and pounces on her. Laughing continually she dances and rolls around, feeling like a pup for the first time in... a long time.
(Meh, short, I know... but I couldn't think of anything else. Hmm, I was thinking. Is there anyone you'd like to invite to join us here, or do you want to just keep it the two of us?)
