The sun hung low in the sky causing the clouds to become a fiery orange and red color as the night began to slowly swallow up the forest. Through the tree's a small vargs shadow could be seen traveling toward the boundaries of the pack Deor. Light brown eyes looked back and fourth then right ahead of the cub as she continued her journey. She had set out early that morning in search of the pack wishing to join and hoping she'd be accepted both by the members and the Dragga. She hoped that her journey would end soon but with every step she took her heart and mind raced and she began to wonder what it'd be like to be in a pack once more. Pricking fawn ears forward Cagalli sniffed the air and came to a halt at the border.
The tri-colored she-cub took a breath let out with an almost silent sigh and before she continued to move onward let out a long howl letting the pack know of her arrival it'd be rude for her not to, that and if she were to just appear out of nowhere the pack might think different intentions of this cub and possibly attack. Cagalli slowly pressed onward as the last of her call subsided into the air the darkness still slowly consuming the area. She swallowed hard as she continued onward the cub always expected the unexpected it was how she lived. Her eyes darting from side to side wondering if she was really alone in the on coming darkness or if the Deor vargs hid well enough and were watching her. Another heavy swallow as her paws rose and fell the scent of the Deor pack now filling the cubs nose sending her mind into more of a curious state. She bounded to trees and sniffed them. She did that for about twenty more trees before stopping to look up at the sky and the rest of the area she was in.<<Sorry for the shortness...lack of muse at the moment >>

Dusk was certainly a time of beauty. It invigorated the energetic and the hunter. Blood boiling for the eagerness of the cool, comfortable darkness. Shadows played through the trees like forgotten ghosts of later Varg, while the sunlight played hide-and-seek for the final time of the day, racing against the approaching darkness to conceal itself on the other side of the great unknown - for that was the only place something so large and brilliant and radiant could successfully slumber away from the gloom of night and dark. The fresh breeze stirred the restless and signaled the rush of coming midnight. Stars above began to embroider the growing indigo velvet above, and the moon goddess Tor began to see the world of her children through a cold, mother-of-pearl eye. Racing with the shadows, hiding from the sunlight, and baring instinct to the great white mother, Ingo loped like a streak of grizzled-golden lightning.
The nighttime was beckoning him forward with such persistency that he dared not stop to catch his breath. With every twirl of falling, green leaves the wolf cringed but only so much to see that he was aware of what it was, but was not afraid. Black nostrils flared to capture the intricate chains of smell that described the world around him, and his broad ears flicked upon the curve of his skull to listen as if in slow-motion to the muffled cadence of his paws against the ground, and the other nightly noises made throughout Deor. He was perfectly in tune with his home. So it was not difficult to say that the call that sprouted into the heavens not only attracted him because of the possibility of company but because the call was foreign. Unique. And he did not recognize its youthful signature.
So, with a slight change of direction, Ingo charged forward with long leaps and bounds over the terrain. The soil spread beneath his claws felt good as he gripped it with strife. The prowess to stalk and hunt and run ran through his blood and into his instinct. He was a wolf, he was Varg.
The golden streak slowed after many moments, staring at the small tri-hued she-pup with his dark golden-orange eyes before he made his way into her presence. He did this often, to be wary of any possible danger and the likelihood of danger. It was out of pure habit now, since the high-alert for the possible attack of Balkar during the tensions which had led to a declaration of war. Ingo wasn't about to forget that quickly, but he was willing to be wary anyway, despite how innocent the face. However, no danger presented itself to the male, and he'd have to intercept her anyway, danger or no. Ingo padded toward the she-pup on quick, silent paws, panting in the cool night air as he did so. A few feet away, he paused and settled down on his haunches. He wasn't quite sure if she knew he was there yet, since she was looking up into the sky.
"Hello," He spoke up, his prick ears pointed forward. I'm Ingo, warrior and hunter for the pack whose lands you come on - Deor that is. What do you seek here young one?"

Mist stands up restlessly, wishing that her too-active mind would giver her tired body a chance to rest. She shakes herself, realizing that the best thing now would be to try and take her mind off of it's many musings. Padding to the edge of the pack cave, she sighs and looks out at the last firey-golden traces of the setting sun. She closes her golden eyes for a moment, taking in the beauty of the late evening. As a small gusty breeze ruffles her silver coat, she opens her eyes and continues out of the cave, wandering aimlessly out into the wide Deor packlands.
In her mentally-occupied state, Mist stops suddenly as a squirrel runs up a tree next to her, chattering madly at her disturbance of it's evening reverie. She shakes her head as if trying to shake off the mood, and continues on. After a few more moments of wandering, she stops and looks up to find herself in a place full of memories from her pup years, growing up with her brothers in Deor. She gazes at the huge old tree, with an almost cave-like hollow in it's base, smiling at the memories of hide-and-seek and thunderstorms. She turns as the calm is broken by voices. Curious as always, Mist decides to find out who they belong to.
Padding closer to the voices, Mist recognizes them to both be young, but neither of them to be familiar. Soon she distinguishes the seperate words, and can hear the two separate voices, one of a young fae, and the other a young mann. Curiousity growing, Mist pricks her ears, following the conversation. She decides to introduce herself as she hears them talking about the fae joining the pack. She pads forward, and at the fae's worried questions, she steps out of the shadows and speaks, her voice calm, soft and welcoming. "Good Evening, you two. I don't believe we have met - I am called Mist, and I have been in Deor since I was a pup." She turns to the fae and smiles. "I heard your questions... Yes, the pack is looking for members, and no, there's no need to worry about that. You are old enough, and you are certainly not too late, it will be wonderful to have you, if you do indeed wish to join. Welcome to the Deor packlands."

Cagalli at first was startled by the new voice but smiled as she heard Mist speak. Words of which she'd wanted to hear "My name is Cagalli, it is nice to meet you Miss Mist of Deor" the tri-colored she-cub wagged her tail happily stirring up dust from its resting place on the ground.
She was glad of the warm welcome by two of Deor's members and was also glad she wasn't too late nor too young to join. The need for being in a pack was starting to grow while she was on her own but now, now this cub felt better, satisfied to be here and speaking with other members as well. She looked at Mist excitedly "What's it like? to be in the Deor pack?" Curiosity a big part of a young cubs life how else were they to learn things much needed in the future? Or sometimes their questions were just plain nonsense and they wanted to hear themselves almost like double checking to see if they had a voice. Cagalli was merely interested in the pack and information that'd be helpful to her, as she was new blood and all.

Mist smiles at Cagalli and bows her head slightly as the pup introduces herself. "It is good to meet you too, Cagalli. You may just call me Mist, everyone else does." Her eyes sparkle with amusement at the young fae's excitement, and she pauses a moment before replying, thinking of what to say. "Well, it's hard to explain exactly, but it really is wonderful to part of a pack, especially one like Deor, where all the members look out for one another and are truly a family." She smiles as she thinks about her beloved pack and her family, none of which is still here.
Shaking herself out of her memories, she looks again at Cagalli, her eyes holding a faint hint of sadness from the lingering thought that none of her family is left in the pack. She turns to look at the sky's faint scarlet left from the sunset, and then, looking back at Cagalli nods her head toward the center of the packlands. "Well, as it is almost dark, it would probably be a good idea to head back to the caves and sleep. You can meet all the others in the morning. I can introduce you to the ones I know, if you'd like me to..."

Cagalli's eyes sparkled with more excitement at Mist's words of showing her around in the morning "That'd be great Mist, and its great that this pack is like a family, I lost mine when I was very little...I'm still young now but younger then this age now" the cub hoped she hadn't confused Mist, she was sure of how to explain how young she was when she'd lost her parents. She'd been three months old at the time she lost her parents.
She wagged her tail and stood walking over to the older she-varg, looking up at her she waited for the she-vargs response. "Thank you again Mist" she would look up to Mist more then any other varg in Deor now other then the Dragga but Mist was someone she would admire.

Mist smiles at Cagalli's enthusiasm, pleased that this sweet, happy fae chose Deor as her home. Her golden eyes glow brightly in the growing darkness as she listens to the young fae. They show vivid sorrow as Cagalli tells of her family's death. As Cagalli walks over and looks up at her, Mist smiles again and gently nuzzles her. She nods at her words. "You're very welcome, Cagalli. I am so pleased that you chose Deor to join. I know you will do well here, you seem to have everything it takes to be a Deor pack member."
As a faint silver glow appears in the east, Mist turns to gaze at the rising moon. She smiles at the familiar sight before turning back to the young fae and speaking again. "Come, it is time that we headed back to the den. It is growing chilly, and it will soon be time for us to sleep." She pads slowly in the direction caves that are the pack's den, waiting for Cagalli to follow.

Cagalli smiled and ran after Mist following her a little on edge due to entering more into the packlands but she had to adjust to the pack and the strange lands she was in now. Cagalli looked up at Mist even more joyful at the comment "Thank you Mist" her smile would fail to fade from her face as she followed such a wonderful and kind varg like Mist.
Cagalli trotted to keep pace with Mist her light brown eyes sparkled in admiration of the older she-varg. She was so kind to Cagalli even though the cub was young a new she was kind to her she would look up to Mist. Like a motherly figure since she had lost her own and hadn't found the same type of bond with any other varg. She admired Mist enough to look at the fae in such a manner she hoped Mist wouldn't mind it.

Mist smiles and studies the young fae out of the corner of her eye. Noticing Cagalli's slight discomfort in the unfamiliar packlands, she reassures her that she believes that Cagalli has everything she needs to do wonderfully in the Deor Pack. She smiles again at the gratitude in the answer. "You are welcome, Cagalli, because it is true. I am sure that the rest of the Deor pack will welcome you as sincerely as I have, my dear."
Keeping her pace relatively slow so the smaller fae has no trouble keeping up, Mist continues in the direction of the pack's dens. She cocks her head to look at the slowly rising, near-full moon, it's silvery form flooding the twilight land with cool white light. The two traveling faes cast shadows on the already shadow-filled landscape as they move in and out of the moon's light under the trees. Lowering her eyes from the silver shape, Mist glances at her companion. She catches an admiring look in Cagalli's eyes and her muzzle curves slightly in a small, gentle, smile.
"So, Cagalli, please tell me a bit about yourself. If there is anything that you wish not to tell, please forgive me. I don't mean to be nosy." She laughs softly before continuing. "It is just that I am curious. I was known for it when I was a cub. I am very pleased and happy with your decision to join Deor, but, if I may ask, what caused you to decide in our favor?"

Cagalli smiled "Its alright Mist...with me being new and all to Deor...I didn't realize I hadn't spoken much about myself" Cagalli thought back to life before Deor...the pain of being alone and losing her family, her tail flicked slightly as she thought a little more to answer Mist's question.
"Well....when I first came into the area I was alone...and most likely lost after the dealth of my family I had wandered far in a daze...I came out of it when I met my first friend...but he left me too...I wanted to join a pack, because I wanted a family again, I didn't and don't like being alone" she smiled again looking up at Mist tail wagging happily "So thats why I came to Deor...To find a family"

Another warm smile shows itself on Mist's dark grey muzzle. It fades slightly and a look of concern fills her eyes. As she listens to Cagalli's sad tale, a sudden urge to comfort the young fae fills her - to nuzzle her and make everything alright, and to dull the painful memories of the past. As she finishes, Mist lowers her head slightly and gently licks Cagalli's nose. She smiles and nods.
"Well, I hope that Deor is all that you want it to be, and that you will consider us to be your family." For a moment, a wistful, misty look comes into her bright eyes, as she things of her own past - the happy times she had with her family growing up. She nods again, this time almost to herself, before turning her attention back to Cagalli. "I know a bit of how you are feeling, my dear. When I was a cub, I lived here happily, with my family. But... no longer. They're all gone, I don't know where..." She sighs and looks at the ground before again shaking herself out of her reverie. "All that is past though, you are here now, and things have changed. There is no need to dwell on the past." She smiles, and it reaches her eyes, banishing the grey and making them bright again. "I really am very happy that you chose Deor as your new pack. If you hadn't I might have never met you..."

Cagalli smiles feeling the familiar licks of comfort like her mother did when she would feel sad or have nightmares and harbor worries. Mist was filling her hearts gap Deor was becoming more and more what she'd expected it to be....only she hadn't met anyone else yet she felt content and less afraid.
"I'm sure Deor will be, at the moment just being with you I feel it is....you're filling such a hole in my heart that not even my betrothed can fill....that of a mother like figure" she looked down embarrassed at the sudden outburst. Still looking at the ground in her embarrassment she spoke "I'm happy to have met you as well Mist, I think destiny called me to Deor...to meet you" her tail wagged slowly as she glanced up at the fea.

Mist's eyes open wide at Cagalli's words, and then she smiles happily, her heart full of warmth and happiness at the young fae's words. She'd never thought of herself as anything like a mother before, or even a mother-like figure. Noticing Cagalli's embarrassment her smile widens, and she watches the young fae, her happiness showing in her glowing orbs.
As Cagalli looks up at her, she replies happily, nodding in agreement with the sweet words. "I feel the same way. It must have been some kind of wonderful destiny that led you here." She laughs softly. "I'm happy that you said that. There really is no need to worry about my reaction. As you can see, I don't mind in the least." She nuzzles Cagalli softly, still smiling. "My dear, I hope that I can always be worthy of your respect - I will always be there for you when you need me."

Cagalli's light brown eyes shone bright at Mist's reply, her heart filled with the joy she felt currently wagging her tail she nuzzled up to Mist as a cub would to its mother "Don't worry, you'll always hold my respect, now and forever!"
If the older fea couldn't tell the she cub was very pleased, and excident to now have such a void replaced. She would always confide in her like a cub would to someone they were close with. She stuck close to Mist wagging her tail still.
