“She was the former Nurse of this pack, I believe it was said that her name was BT. It seemed she had died of an illness. Maybe if I had come sooner, maybe I would have been able to help her, but then, if she was the Nurse… well, maybe she didn’t want to heal, perhaps she had decided her life was long enough.” Lucivar really didn’t know who she was, BT, she had no idea that she acted very similar to her. She also had no idea that by being attracted to Chalos, she was also following in BT’s paw prints. Luci might not look like the silver and black she-wolf, but she knew that something about her had struck a chord in Ingo the first time she’d met him.
“But you know, I’d like to go meet new Varg. It would be nice, to know some of the local Kerl, maybe even chance a meeting with a Balkan Varg.” She gave Cairo a joking grin at the mention of the Balkar. Lucivar knew that Deor wolves weren’t welcome around the Balkar, and that Deor wolves tended to be rather finicky about them as well. She didn’t know why the hatred was there, but she didn’t exactly agree with it either. “Of course, maybe there’s some good in the Balkar. Even if it’s the size of a tiny grain of sand.”
She gave a soft laugh and nipped at Cairo’s side, and as her gaze lifted to the sky, she too, saw the lonely herla. “Hmm, it looks like Fenris has had a lovely hunt.” She commented softly, not really realizing she had said this out loud. “Perhaps a gift for Tor.” She didn’t quite know why, but it was a wonderful thought. Fenris running out and hunting a nice big deer for Tor, even fantasizing about great big herla was pleasing. She pondered what BT was doing right now, maybe she was hunting the large deer to eat.

Watching the herla shaped cloud seem to unfurl as it frolicked through the endless abyss of sky, Cairo smiled at the imagery. Imagine the great lord Fenris out catching for his beloved Tor like a cub in the massive sky. Almost giving out a giggle the cream fae kept her eyes on the cotton creature of the abyss. "I hope it is a gift for Tor that Fenris caught ever so gently with his mighty jaws. It seems so heroic that he would do something like that for her. Yet when we hunt here on the land it never seems so majestic." Thinking out loud more than anything Cai sighed dreamily picturing the exact chase and hunt that Fenris endured to give such a prize to the great Tor.
Eyelids fluttering from the light of Fenris himself, Cairo squinted now as she scanned the territory about them. Still no sign of any fellow pack mates or intruders allowing her to continue sunning herself lazily. There hadn't been much action in the lands lately which could be deemed as lucky or boring. Either way she felt content that no trouble was brewing within their borders allowing for carefree days of simple perimeter checks. Taking her job as a guard quite seriously there was no room for error. An encroachment into their lands could result in all sorts of trouble if not monitered therefore there was no room for sloppy behavior.
Although relaxing now, it would soon be time to once more do her walk around of the pack lands. In fact she might as well invite Lucivar for it could get rather lonely at times. "Luci, did you want to do a border check with me?"
Slowly getting to her paws, Cairo shook out her cream pelt sending a few particles into the clear air around them. Stretching her back she scrunched up before pulling her fore then hind legs out in front or behind her. With a final shake of her pelt she felt ready to move and anxious to begin her duties.

“I’d love to come with you Cairo, it’s probably more interesting than waiting for the cubs to come back from their play. All of them are too old for my care, with the exception of a story or two, but now that Fangs here I’m not even needed for that.” In truth, Lucivar felt a tad bit useless. They had a healer, and a story teller, but there wasn’t really much for her to do. She couldn’t fulfill her place as Nurse without cubs running around. She couldn’t do much of anything.
She lifted her sleek figured from the ground, long creamy legs being stretched as she let out a large yawn. Once that act was completed she gave her pelt a hefty shake, dust particles and dirt being thrown from her fur and carried on the breeze only to settle a ways away in the warm grass. “It’ll be fun to get around the pack lands again without worrying about one of the little ones wandering off.”
Luci did have to admit that it was nice to laze around once in a while, to be a bit less cautious. She liked having fun too, but her job made it so that little ones came first, not that she minded, it was great to play tag with them.

Pleased that Lucivar would keep her company on her duties Cairo rolled her shoulders back before starting the pace at a slight trot. Auds standing alert, optics wide, nares twitching, and a confident stature marked her change into work mode. Making her way to the perimeter of the Deor territory she looked out to the expanse of unclaimed wilderness. Not seeing any varg or trouble of any kind nearby she continued along the border. It was easy for a varg to distinguish between one's pack lands and the unclaimed. Cairo was unaware if the scent was tangible to other lera however every varg could recognize a pack's distinct trademarks.
Moving along the sound of song birds filled the atmosphere encouraging Cai to rekindle a conversation. "Pups. I haven't been around any for over a year now." Giving a shake of her head Cai chuckled recalling her fond memories and time spent with the beta's pups of her home pack.
Continuing to check their surroundings Cai wondered exactly how many cubs Lucivar had helped raise but she felt too awkward to ask. Now what should she present as a topic? Just getting to know one another there were some topics that should not be touched upon.
Cream pelt bouncing slighty as she continued on, Luci with her on her errand for the pack. Not that it was necessarily required but Cairo felt it was part of her duty as the guard of Deor to ensure no dangers entered their borders. "So I'm guessing you chose to be the nurse here?" Might as well continue on the subject of how they got to Deor.

“Yes, the whelps do tend to grow up fairly quickly. I’ve always wanted ones of my own… But well, you know. I haven’t found the right male. But that’s considering that I only really know the he-Varg that live in this pack.” Lucivar chuckled a little, it was true, she hadn’t met any males outside the pack, and she was sort of afraid to, she didn’t want to get a crush on someone else, but with Cairo as her competition (and whoever else there might be), Luci also thought that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad by now.
Lucivar followed Cairo, matching her pace step for step. The two fae were about the same size, if not Luci was slightly larger by maybe a hair. Her gaze traveled the pack’s boarder as well, and though it wasn’t in her duty to check the boarders either, she figured why not? Though it was rare that Varg came to visit from the other packs, or Kerl intrude, it was always good to keep an eye out. To protect the family that she loved, Luci remembered her father telling her siblings that, but oddly not her. Did he think she wouldn’t be strong enough? Oh well, that didn’t matter because she had a new family now. Cairo, who might just become as close as a sister, and might as well be, her best friend.
“I did choose to be Deor’s Nurse, yes. I enjoy the energy that cubs have, how they are so curious about the world around them. It’s a very infectious attitude, don’t you think?” Lucivar turned to glance at her friend, the cream colored fae with bi-hued eyes. She was so pretty, beautiful in Luci’s eyes, and she couldn’t be happier than to just spend time with her. “What about you, how did you become one of the Deor Guard?”

((Sooo sorry for the wait darling))
Bright, full of energy, Cai reflected back once again on the cubs of her old pack. Giving a little laugh again, the cream fae shook her head in agreement. "It is quite contagious." Feeling devilish she nipped at Lucivar's nearest shoulder. It was such a wonderful day, with a high energy only doubled with the two friends dynamics.
Trotting a little forward of her girlfriend, Cairo paused looking up at the cloudless sky. Nares twitching she simply inhaled the fresh crisp mountain air that drifted down from the utmost peaks towering above the valley. It was her pack, the scent of family, the scent of home. Lowering her head she turned her bi colored optics over her sleek shoulder to give a generous, satisfied smile to Lucivar.
"I chose to be guard with Chalos' approval of course. I love being out on the perimeters especially on days like today." Inhaling once more she took off at a slow trot again as Lucivar came up beside her. "Of course I really wanted to make sure that the pack and our lands was kept safe and secure. That's just something I really value and feel that I can give back to my family, to our pack."
Listening as the day birds sang there complex melodies she felt more at peace then she had in a long time. "In my parents pack they all doubted me. Doubted my abilities to guard the pack or defend our family." Blinking in images of her past Cairo tried to once more keep in focus the great day that surrounded her including her new found friend. "It's not like that here. No one doubts my abilities." Padding onward, she felt almost silly for revealing such an important part of herself yet she knew that Lucivar would be there for her, would not say anything to make her feel rediculous.

Lucivar chortled as Cairo nipped at her shoulder. Today was pleasant, even considering Luci’s little lie, which was still gnawing at her conscious. Shoving that thought aside for now, she smiled and listened intently as Cairo brought up many good points about being a guard. What a wonderful way to give back to the Deor community, it really was good. Lucivar would teach, and Cairo would watch for the well-being of the family. In truth, they both helped their pack greatly.
“That’s a very noble thing Cairo.” the tri-hued she-wolf cooed, nudging her friend affectionately. Already they were getting along, already it seemed like they knew each other. At least that’s what Lucivar was thinking, almost like it had happened between them once before. She shook her muzzle a little to shake thoughts of déjà vu from her mind. “Its true, we tend to act as though we are all just a simple family. Trusting one another unconditionally. Sometimes I wonder if that might someday be our downfall.”
But oh how terribly she hoped that wouldn’t happen. Without Deor, without Cairo and Dakota… and Chalos… She wouldn’t know what she would do without her beloved pack. Without their family, the one that she had grown so close to in the past few days, the ones that she trusted with all her heart and all her soul. She would take a short pilgrimage from the pack after her conversation, she would try to create tied outside of Deor. “Cairo, later tonight, if I am not hear, don’t worry, I think I’m going to take another short trip from Deor.” Lucivar just figured she should tell her friend at least that.
Sorry for the crappy late post. I kind of forced it out of me.

A look of concern flooded her bi hued orbs as Lucivar spoke of her coming absence. Something seemed to be fighting its way through her mind. Slowling her pace to almost a halt Cairo looked deeply into her friends soft, warm face. "Is everything all right Luci?" Surely if there was an issue bothering her she would confide in her new found friend just as Cairo would in return. Perhaps she merely found more comfort or companionship in her friend. Almost panicking that by chance it was in some way, shape, or form her own fault she seemed to plead with Lucivar.
Taking on a most serious tone she continued to lock her gaze on Lucivar as if trying to read her, scanning her for any secret that may need unveiling. "You can trust me Lucivar. You know that, right?" More of a rhetorical question she still felt the need to say it. There was usual an unspoken bond formed between two faes in such situations yet still it was better to vocalize it especially during more difficult times.
Scanning her every movement for a glimpse into her mind set, Cairo truely was concerned. It seemed to be a sudden decision based on a situation that recently occurred.
Turning her attention to the expanse of terra still before her to check, the cream fae moved onward again beginning to feel more confident that Lucivar would not only follow her to continue her duties yet also by chance talk about what was bothering her.
((Sorry so short))
