The blithering twittering of the birds was beginning to grow rather annoying, as annoying as the burning heat that fenris was casting down to bake the earth and all that inhabited it. A growl broke through the air while blood stained fangs flashed in the sunlight, a glimpse of crimson stained ebony fur streaking through the forest around the rushing river appeared here and there, large heavy paws landing silently on the soft earth and mud of the riverbanks. Ebony auditories flicking forward the massive brute edged forward toward the water without a sound, slowly sneaking his vile way into the waters and then snapping his jaws rapidly, yanking a fish from the waters.
Lip curling up with a muffled chuckle the black hearted brute slowly turned and headed back to the comforting shade of the trees at the far edge of the shores, slumping down to the ground with his catch and eagerly tearing it open, slowly devouring the organs and devouring the scaley flesh while absently crunching the bones to pieces then spitting them out, throuhgly enjoying his meal while his ears remained perked for the sound of approching nitwits that would intterupt his meal and possibly annoy the heck out of him, well it would be just his luck that such a thing would happen very soon, far too soon actually, as the sound of snapping twigs soon became apparent to his senses.

ooc: ooooh chess...you play?
The sun was not giving up. Never cooling down, only getting hotter and hotter. The Lera were grumpy and began to develop short tempers in the blistering heat. Fenris was showing off to Zostar that he was the only Lord of Heat and Flame. Surely enough the simmering weather had prove his might. Hopefully Tor could stop Fenris from burning every Lera and plant to a crisp. And hopefully Zostar would not fall for such childish behavior.
Trees of all sizes produced shade for the Lera. Giving them protection from the harmful rays. Cooling breezes from Tor were soothing, but perhaps not as soothing as the water that ran through the river. It was a miracle that it had not just dried up in the heat. The moist banks were welcoming to aching paws, treating the scarred pads with care. Shadows of the trees overlooked the river, creating both protection from the heat and nice cool areas to play in.
A black she cub walked along the banks. White paws were sprinkled with clumps of wet sand and mud. White tipped ears and a tail flicked with joy at being here at the river. Who would've thought that the world held so many wonders. Dipping her maw into the river, she saw her white diamond marking as she drank greedily. Water dripped onto the ground as Shadow lifted her head. Her leather collar was wet as well. The bear claw that protruded it had drops of water dripping from the tip. Her green speckled blue eyes searched along the shadows for a small meal. Movement caught her eye. There in the shade of the shallow waters were a bunch of fish.
WOW! Even fish need to cool down! Shadow thought in awe. Walking over to the shallow area, Shadow stared down at the silver scales of the fish. She stood there on the bank, as still as a statue. Then rearing backwords, she shot her head into the water. The water was murky, her mouth soon grabbed onto a wriggling fish. Seconds later, Shadow's head shot back out. The fish still fighting to get free. Dropping the fish onto the ground, Shadow shook her head. Drops of water flew off in all directions, splattering the ground.
Turning her head back toward her meal the fish had stopped moving. She grinned as she saw the body. She had seen bears use the technique for catching their own prey.Who knew it would've worked. Shadow said with joy. The fish'sn body had a gaping hole in it's body, pierced by the bear claw. Shadow didn't wear the collar often. Only once in a while would she dare to put it on and show the world her past.
Stooping low, Shadow's teeth tore into the body, ripping it to shreds. The fish was delicious, but not as filling as rabbit. Whose blood was irresistible. There was some fish left when Shadow had finished eating her fill. Shadow laid down next to her kill. Watching the time pass as the water of the river rushed by.

(Ooc: Nope... just felt like calling the thread that.)
A low grunt wriggled it's way out of the killer's blood stained jaws and maw, cutting into the air like a hot knife would cut through butter. Growling a little his maw leaned forward and clamped down on what remained of his fish, having discarded the bones before hand due to his habit of crunching on them first, he threw the fish up a little and swallowed the rest of the slippery thing. Humming as it slickly slid down his throat and settled in his gut, lovely.
Then he heaved his large body up onto large paws, ebon fur speckled with dirt and sand but strangely no mud was there to accompony it. Royal blues flickering up to the light sky a frown creased his muzzle as Fenris kept up his childish game with Zostar, practically roasting his subjects under his heated glare. Scoffing in annoyance the brute headed further down the bank toward the noises and it wasn't long before he spotted the newcomer. Eyes rolling in disdain he ignored the she cub and entered her area, slithering back into the water and then holding completely still.
There he stayed for an untold amount of time that even the god's would have been both facinated and yet bored watching him. Then without warning he lunged at the water with a snarl, black lips sliding and lifting off large bloody fangs as they impaled the water, sinking deep into a rather large fish, muzzle clamping hard over the scaely creature's middle and snapping the bones within, forcing the fish to suffer what would have been an agonizing death to any other creature... but with it's short memory the fish most likely forgot the pain a second after it hit the small brain. For a few seconds it wriggled in vain to free itself from the varg's jaws and then fell limp. Scoffing again Genocide turned and silently headed toward the shore, staring ahead and still ignoring the female... he honestly didn't really give a crap what she was doing here, didn't matter anyway.

The sun's rays were only getting more and more intense. The bright white orb was glowing brighter than usual. Just looking at it could burn any Lera's eyes, till there was nothing left but empty sockets. Either Fenris decided to 'kick it up a notch' or Zostar had fallen prey to Fenris's mockery.
Shadow stared at the clear ,cool water. Her reflection looked back up at her. The bear claw stuck out of the collar, like a tooth buried all the way through it's prey's body. SPLASH! water droplets sprayed onto the unsuspecting cub. Shadow's reflection was distorted by the ripples in the water. Soaked with water, Shadow glared at the Varg responsible for the crime. It was a Mann whose pelt could send chills down a newborn cub's spine. He had black ears and black covered the lower half of his body. Blood red fur covered his paws and lower half of his body. Shadow knew better than to mess with a Varg like him. Shaking the droplets of water from her pelt Shadow stalked off into the trees.
Far away from the danger of getting soaked again, Shadow laid her body down in the cool, moist ground under the trees. Low cooling breezes blew into her. Sighing with pleasure, Shadow laid down her head . Starring and following the Mann's every movement as he caught another fish. The bear's claw dug into the ground, gorging into in and leaving a hole behind. Wonder who he is? It was quite rude of him to splash water on me, but it was my fault for staying to close to the edge of the river.Shadow thought cocking her head to the side. Blue eyes focusing on any escape routes.....just in case.

Slowly the mann turned in the water and headed back onto shore, huge paws sinking into the wet sand and mud at the shore and coating his fur where it would remain until it dried and fell away with the sands of time. Ebon ears flicking forward as his eyes finally turned to stare at the femme, he could see her looking around for escape routes if need be and this secretly amused him. Then at the moment he decided to perhaps play with her a little, it could be great fun.
Slowly he headed further on shore and settled in the shade next to Shadow, dropping his fish and slowly licking the salty flesh for a few seconds then tearing it open and removing the bones silently. Once done with this he lifted his head and licked his chops before speaking quietly, not looking to her "You seem upset."

Lying in the shadow of a pine tree, Shadow felt unsafe. Out here in the open with this death like Varg on the loose, it seemed almost impossible for her to feel safe. Seeking comfort under the tree, Shadow buried her nose into the pine needles below. Their scent of pine and tree sapped lessened the tesion...only a little. Blue eyes followed the Death Varg around like a stalker and it's prey. The Varg had successfully caught a fish, a good size and weight, and had settled next to her. Now what could possibly go wrong now. Sarcasm rolled into her mind. Yes indeed what else could go wrong?
Shadow stared at the Mann, rude as it may be it made her feel less stressed. The Varg had begun to tear apart the fish into shreds. Devouring it in a few gulps or so. Bones laid in a heap at his paws. Licking his maw, he turned his attention toward Shadow."You seem upset." Keeping his eyes diverted from her gaze. "Now why would I be upset now mister? Nothing bad is gunna happen"Shadow said with a false grin. Her father's lessons were beginning to kick off. She began to calm herself down, taking in deep breaths and letting them out slowly. He heart beat returned to normal. A varg's voice can sound deceiving, but a Varg's eyes never lie who they truly are. Only a few Vargs can deceive another with both voice and eyes. Her father's voice rang in her head. Shadow waited for the Mann to reply. Waiting and hopefully, despite his fur colored pelt, this Mann was nice.

Hmm she was clever alright, he could tell that she was somewhat onto him and his ruse but he would not let his fun be cut short so soon. For a moment he said nothing and took a deep breath, slowly managing to hide his true emotions in his eyes but it was with much difficulty and slowly he turned his eyes toward the she wolf, remaining as calm and simple as possible, this one would be fun to torment later on. Gain their trust then betray, so much fun to tease, tear and rip apart one's trust in others.
"Only those who can see future events can safely say that..... you don't know what could happen later." in a way it seemed like the words were half chilling warning and yet half friendly advice, which was what he was focusing on it to sound like, this one would make gaining her trust difficult but he would in time... it was never that hard.

The forever bright sun began to lessen it's wrath on the Vargs. Perhaps Fenris and Zostar have finally come to an agreement and decided that the world was big enough for the two of them. The winds began to stir and blew cool breezes throughout the land. Now Tor was up to her work, merciful as always.
Under the pine tree, Shadow waited for the Mann to respond. Her blue eyes focused on his body. A sigh escaped from the Varg's mouth, as though he was tired of doing something. Lifting his head, Shadow saw that he to had blue eyes. "Only those who can see future events can safely say that..... you don't know what could happen later." the Mann said wisely. Shadow flicked her tail in acknowledgment"So true so very true. They say only a few can see into the future, but they hide themselves at the present. So, what is your name?" Shadow asked with curiosity.
Shadow looked into the Varg's eyes. 'What is he hiding behind those eyes of his?' The Mann's eyes were only a mirror, reflecting only Shadow's face. But, every mirror has a flaw in them. Either a crack or smudge I'll find it. And when I do, perhaps I shall find out the truth about him.'Shadow thought. Her gaze intent, but hid her ambition behind her innocent eyes.

OOC;; Gen invited me into this thread, you don't mind do you Shadow? I've been wanting to RP with you for a while =3 It had certainly been a while since the heat and light of the wolf God's had warmed the world about the animals in this way; heat being the main factor in a long effective strain for many of the area's inhabbitants. It was something that seemed unavoidable to everyone who walked the lands of Transylvania. As far as the eye could see, nothing much was moving in the slighty cooler forest by the river, everything probably not wanting to move into that blasted heat. Koiji was out and about, exploring, sort of, in the lands that she knew so well now. Her icy white coat was shining when the sunlight filtered onto her, her sooty black paws padding along the land with ghostly silence. A streak of purple in her tail, she swung it happily. She hadn't been to the river for a while, for fear of an old nightmare; something that had happened to her when she was not much more than a Deorian whelp, an event at this spot was something that she'd had nightmares about for a while. She'd grown now, and with the time it'd taken to mature, the horrific dreams had settled themselves into a more cloudy memory, she wasn't afraid any more.
Hard to believe that it happened a while ago now... She thought, remembering with some clarity the time she'd met him. The ebony and crimson Mann; who had effectivly tortured her in his own way. It was something that had deeply unsettled her at the time, and she'd learnt and accepted that he was just a pittyful fool. It might have taken a while, but now she realised that there was nothing to be afraid of, seeing as the chances of seeing Genocide, she growled slightly at thinking his name, were not high.
She was looking forward to arriving at the river, for it's cool water and shade from the tall trees would be a utter gift. She kept her pace at a loping trot, nice, easy, and not to exauhting. She sighed. Despite all her positive thinking, this place still gave her a sense of unease. The memory lingered; and in doing so it made the feeling grow. It wouldn't be long now, she'd get there, soon. It took her a little longer to get to where she wanted to be, but once there she saw something all too familiar. In the clearing in the trees, anyone could see the little scene. It was all too familiar, Koiji's crystal blue hues widened in suprise. It took her a while to take in what it was exactly she was seeing, she shook her head, not willing to take it in. There, in the little clearing, was him. Genocide. Genocide, river, wolf, blood. Blood from a fish, but all the same. She stared into the clearing, and what met her eyes was something that she'd forever wish hadn't. For there was a Mann, head bowed and gorging himself on something. A wolf. Not much older than herself. Her small cub legs locked, a fear pounding through her. She ran, and didn't look back. Koiji shook herself from the memory, and growled. It'd been a while, but there he was, bloody as ever, and as it would seem, he'd found some unsuspecting cub to play with. It sickened her. She walked fowards, as a cool wind swept the land. Her lithe form was very graceful, considering she'd been a rather clumsy cub. She kept on walking, right up to where her old nightmare sat. Once close enough, she snarled. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" She asked, sarcasm in her tone. That was strange, different. She was always nice. But this had to be said. "It's certainly been a while, Genocide. Remember me, big boy?" She was using a softer tone now. She glanced at the smaller fae by his side. A friendliern grin replacing the smirk from before. "Hello, I don't think we've met before, I'm Koiji, proud Deorian." She introduced herself, knowing that the fae was probably unsure of her sudden appearance, even more, the warning that she'd give soon enough... She turned and looked at the crimson Mann, glowering.

ooc: Sorry for the delay. >_< Oh and Gen if you could, please try and catch Shadow....i wanna see what happens....
Shadow's ears twitched with annoyance as the red and black Mann said nothing at her question. The light of the bright afternoon was now beginning to fade into the evening sky. Shifting her eyes back to the rush of the water and the small trickles water coming through their small gaps and cracks in the rocks. Paws shuffled nervously at the silence between her and the Mann. I don't like this......not one bit. Shadow looked back at the red Mann staring into his blue eyes that were so much like her own. Shadow 's ears were beginning to fold down to her head, only to stop half way as a small breeze blew toward her. And taking with it a scent of a new Varg.
Shadow's fear flared with worry, it's stinging scent coming off her fur in waves. All of a sudden her collar just felt a little to tight on her neck, almost to seem like it was strangling her to death. Shadow gave a small whimper before managing to calm down in a few seconds and breaths. Could it be one of his friends?!?! Out of the trees and bushes popped out a snarling white femme. A young adult, as Shadow analyzed the Fae, had black paws and a purple streaked tail. Purple fur? is that possible? Shadow thought with wonder forgetting her fear and cocking her head in question.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?she snarled. "Well, well, well, what do we have here? It's certainly been a while, Genocide. Remember me, big boy? Shadow's eyes widened to the size of dinner plates as the she wolf turned her attention toward the cub. "Hello, I don't think we've met before, I'm Koiji, proud Deorian." Shadow's head reared back in shock. Her collar's buckle gleamed in the dimming light. The bear claw looked like a piece of obsidian in the rays. Shadow's head scrambled with the thoughts of who should her friend be and who isn't. Being the confused pup she was, she ran for the hills.
Saying not another word to neither wolves, Shadow ran for the woods heading back toi perhaps one of her millions of hiding spots. Her fear scent a sharp smell in the breeze. To many stuff to think about! I hope they don't try and follow me! Shadow's paws trampled the ground running and running on and on. Faltering once in a while, threatening her with a trip. Turning her head back, Shadow could see a small gleaming stream if the river. Only to turn look back and yelp in surprise as she fell down the slope of the hill.
Getting to her paws slowly, Shadow shook her coat free from dirt and dust. Not taking the chance to look at her scrapes, Shadow continued to run for it. A few moments later in the heart of the forest, Shadow whimpered. It's dark. I hope someone finds me. Shadow thought her blue eyes wide with worry. With the approaching darkness, this was no place to be for a confused cub.

( *Gets teh awesome Idea*) Royal blues flashed as they whirled to stare at the one who he had tormented not too long ago, she had defiantly grown bigger- though he still dwarfed her easily- and apparently had become much more daring "Hmm... Koiji..." he muttered and then noticed his new plaything was making a break for it. Sighing slowly he heaved himself onto his four again and stared as fenris slowly sank to sleep, leaving the forest to the night... it was the one night in a month that Tor would refuse to rise.
A devilish smirk coiled it's way up his maw as he slipped away, giving swift parting words to Koiji "You aren't my target... leave your nose out of where it does not belong... or you just might lose it." with that he melded into the darkness and easily slithered after Shadow as she blindly ran from the scene she had seemed so concerned to get away from, oh deary... that just wouldn't do at all.. he could only laughed to himself as he heard the yelp thus signaling she had stupidly tripped somewhere deep inside the forest.
Without a word his ears flattened against his large skull and he zoomed in on her, finding her in the heart of the now dark forest, that smirk returned and a smooth but vaguely evil chuckle floated passed his bloodstained teeth and vile black lips into the cooling air "Now now, weren't you taught to be a good girl? It's impolite to run from others." with that he pulled out of the shadows from in front of her, the curling tendrils of darkness sliding almost like water on his bloody fur.

Aw, dammit! Koiji thought, the younger cub looked like she was gonna attempt to make a dash for it, and she didn't blame her. It's not everyday that you get to meet one such as the crimson stained Mann in front of her, she wrinkled her nose as she watched the scene play out in front of her. Seeing that Gen hadn't changed much in the past month's at all, her crystal blue orbs narrowed. He was up to something, that much was for sure, the smirk that was playing about his maw was pretty evident. The cub didn't seem happy at all, her eyes were widening, something the size of her paws, and Genocide just sat there. He made a greeting, though as the last time, it wasn't much of one. She noticed that he still was bigger than her, despite her growth spurt, but if she was to help the little cub, she figured she could outrun him. Her orbs softened as she looked at the cub again. What did this horrid Mann see fun about terrorising young cubs?
When poor little Shadow did make a dash, the Mann rose slowly to his haunches, and her eyes glared at him. Yup, still taller... She thought as she glowered up at him. The threat that he gave her next made her snort. She was feeling confident, and that was something that she was sure from their previous encounter, Genocide wasn't execting. As he went to move, her body snaked round to where the Mann was headded. "Oh, pur-lese!" She scoffed, walking to where he now stood. "Seriously, Gen. Genny-Genny-Genocide.... You lay one paw on that cub and I have a feeling you're gonna regret it." Her own thread came out in a low snarl, her crystal lue orbs still narrowed. He ran.
The anger of seeing this once a nightmare Mann gave Koiji some sort of power that rushed through her, giving her strength that she never knew she had. Growling quietly, she ran after the smooth talking criminal. She was running quite fast, as she'd antcipated before, her build was something that allowed speed. She was only a few bounds behind him as she saw him zone in on were the small cub was hiding. This seemed all too famliar, she'd hidden from him at one point too, not that it had done any good. The nightmare still came.
He seemed to have found her, his low rumbling voice sounding from down a small bank. Koiji wasn't growling anymore, but her facial expressions were tense. She didn't want to see that cub get hurt, seeing as with this guy it was pretty inevitable. She leapt through a bush that seemed to be where the noise was coming from, and landed gently a few feet away from Shadow. She took a defensive postition over the cub, baring her shiny white daggers at the Mann. "And didn't anyone ever tell you that you should pick on someone your own size?" She asked through gritted teeth. If she got away with this it'd be a miacle, seeing as taunting him when he had a ticking bomb of a temper, wasn't the best idea. The power that she was feeling didn't go, she wouldn't fight, she'd make sure the cub was safe before anything like that happened. She'd run. Watching him like a hawk, Koiji waited for the next move that the Mann would play.

ooc: SORRY FOR THE WAIT!!!!!!!!!!
Shadow's heart thumped harder and harder through her chest. Almost as though it was threatening her that it was going to pop right out. Shadow's eyes widened as the red and black Mann crept out of the shadows. Ears back and tail under her, Shadow felt her hopes sink into the mud. "Now now, weren't you taught to be a good girl? It's impolite to run from others." Shadow froze at what the red demon said. Memories flicked into her mind, making her remember the last time she had spoke up.
Right before her was the black Mann she had met at the cave and so narrowly escaped from the encounter. Zane had came out of the dark side of the cave like a snake creeping up to it's prey; ready to strike and kill. Back then Shadow dared to challenge the full grown Varg, only to get her and Della into trouble. He's just like him. Just like that Nightmare Varg. Shadow uttered a small whimper of dread before slowly retreating.
Her white paws crunched on the dry leaves and twigs, backing up. Her hind legs scraped against the bark of a tree causing a small yip to escape her maw. Shadow locked her eyes onto 'Genocide' as the white Fae had said. Shadow's voice trembled as she tried to reply back at the Mann's answer. "W-w-weren't y-you taught n-not to s-s-stalk a c-cub?" Shadow said, making a sad come back. As though the little black cub's heart couldn't pound any harder a small thump sounded from her right.
Yet another yip escaped her mouth, Shadow clamping it shut. Trying to control the small clatter of her fangs. "And didn't anyone ever tell you that you should pick on someone your own size?" Koiji growled at Genocide. Shadow stared at the scene, making her heart jump faster at the picture. Her head turning it and rearranging it into the day of her parent's death, but also her death. Her past life as Midnightstar.
Flashes of the battle in the cave flew into her vision. The once red and black Mann was now a towering brown bear. Foam was spouting out of it's mouth and blood dripped from it's claws. Koiji the proud Deorian was now her father. Standing between her and the bear, her mother's body laid broken against the cave wall. Shadow's vision began to double, then triple. Her breaths ragged and short. Dropping to her belly, Shadow looked one more time through her blurred vision before slipping into a deep sleep.

Black auds twitched in silent annoyance as he watched shadow slip into unconciousness, snorting his aggrivation he slowly turned on his paws to face the thorn that was once again making a large pain in his side. Eyeing Koiji coldly his lip curled up in a sneer over his fangs before he spoke smoothly, calmly "You've made it a habit to become a nuisance to others... haven't you my dear?" he murmured quietly, his voice suddenly turning sympathetic. He knew that in technical terms that the white furred wolf before him was still somewhat of a cub.... he would use the cub's mindset to his advantage.
Slowly he began to circle Koiji, more like pacing, not bothered by her turning to follow him with her eyes "Yes.... perhaps.... a nuisance to those you don't wish to bother? Perhaps even... Silve, maybe?" his tone was still sympathetic, his cunning blue eyes hiding away his true intention as they turned to the white wolf in a sad manner, though the manner was false it was hard to detect.... the game had begun.

Right, I'm really sorry for the wait on my post, I hope it was worth the wait x3
Seeing the form of Shadow laying limp upon the floor, yet another snarl escaped the fae's lips. The poor pup had fainted, and he seemed completely unconcerned about it. Then again, the ebon/crimson Mann was unconcerned about a lot of things. She glared at him, stance still protective. At least if things got messy Shadow wouldn't have to watch... He started to mention something about her always making a nuisance of herself. Her crystal blue eyes narrowed, and she bared her teeth. "Oh, of course, I always, always make a nuisance of myself, don't I Gen? But notice the only wolf who's buttons I really seem to push is you? Oh, I wonder why? I am really that much of a thorn in your side?" She snarled, sarcasm dripping from her words. Her gaze grew colder as he went on.
"Oh. I'm a nuisance! Okay, big boy, before you drag my mother into this, why is it that your all alone, huh? Did you choose to be a loner, or did your parents think something like 'Oh dear Tor, what a ruffian we've got on our paws here?' and throw you out? You should stop making smart comments, your nothing more than a bully to me, and like that old saying goes; Stones are raw, they blunt my paw, but words will never hurt me." Despite her new found confidence to say such things to the cannibal's face, doubt was begining to grow in her mind. She wasn't going to say anything to the Mann. No, that'd give him too much satisfaction. He was choosing to play a game, she was choosing to play along. They'd see how it went. She continued to glare at him, wondering if there was any truth in his words. Sure she could be overly talkative at times, and talk though spots where there could be peace and quiet, but was she really a nuisance? Did she annoy Silve?
She shook her head, refusing to take any more rubbish that the fowl talking Mann would say. It didn't get rid of the doubt, but it shook it slightly from her mind. She looked the Mann up and down. If it was games he wanted to play this time, she'd play along. She was no longer that little wolf cub who'd ran away from him all those moons ago. She'd grown up since then. He was merely a nightmare from her cubhood. And that was about it. Nothing more, nothing less. She let out a sigh a question forming in her mind. "Where did you go so wrong, Genocide? What happened to make you like this?! Why is it you take pride and joy in making others lives a misery?" There was a new expression upon Koiji's maw now, one of confusion, and of pity. This wolf, although he'd probably never admit it, had problems. Despite the change of emotion in her face, her body remained rigid and strong over the smaller cub. Her lithe form allowed for speed, she was very nimble. If he tried anything, she'd run. Her speed was something that the Mann might not be expecting, but still, if the going got tough, at least she had a plan.
