Daxton felt a twinge of sadness for the femme before him, though a baffled look pinched his brow together. ”Your...your parents were the leaders of the pack, but you were denied the necessities of life?” His question was answered, however, as she continued, and regret for speaking too quickly throbbed through him; curiosity always got the best of him. Putting two and two together, he realized that her parents couldn't have been worth much, especially if they had let her wander off at such a tender age, no matter their anger to her. And yet, she had survived? He felt a thriving sense of admiration for Ryku; he doubted that he would have been able to do the same. Then again, Mato prided themselves on their bonds, and to lose a pup because she wasn't being watched would have been devastating; a full-on search would have been initiated and they would have rigorously frisked the surrounding areas until the cub in question was found and brought back home safely. But, then again, it was often himself who would watch litters, and not one of his charges had ever come to any preventable harm.
Ryku continued, however, and her short story brought a frown to Dax's lips, and a vague sense of anger ran coolly through him. ”If you see him again,” the mann growled, ”Be sure and let me know.” There was a definite threat behind it; the hoary dragga might not have met typical male Varg standards for height, weight, and attitude, but Ryku was a friend, one he looked upon very highly, and to threaten her would in turn be a threat to him. While it was obvious that he was more puerile and naïve than most his age, there were certain things that he was far more experienced in. Dax had had his own run-ins with bullies, but they had been settled very quickly.
He was deep in a brooding thought when Ryku inquired as to whether or not he had any more to divulge. At first he hesitated, uncertainty rippling through him, but he inwardly shrugged, and spoke again. ”In Mato, I was both the lead hunter and the, ah...nurse, of sorts,” He peered at her for a moment, searching for any sign of amusement that usually escorted his words (because, really, how often are draggas nurses, hmm? Exactly.) before continuing on. ”I was responsible for training any particularly speed-oriented cubs to hunt, while my brother, Gavin, was responsible for the warriors. We each had our favorites, of course- Gavin's was one of Kele's sons, Cusick, and mine was one of my own younger sisters, Alba. Before I left, both of them were maturing beautifully; I do hope that they found someone to replace me quickly. My Dragga's son, the one I was telling you about, Tuari- he was almost, almost, as good as I was,” With that he winked at Ryku, his eyes dancing with silent laughter.
”And then I came here,” he said with a sigh and a smile. ”I met you, of course. And then, when I was in the mountains, I met a dragga, Arthfael, and a drappa, Snowflame,” His face turned incredibly sour at the name; he had been exceptionally happy to get away from her when he finally had. ”I was actually trapped in a cave up there with them for nearly an entire day. And then I met a wolf named Capella, and Mist.” At Capella's name he smiled broadly inwardly and just slightly on his actual countenance. ”Mist convinced us to join Deor; I'll be meeting up with her eventually and we'll tackle admittance together.” He was silent before glancing at Ryku and grinning, blue eyes fixated on her amber ones. ”Will you meet us there? And, if can't meet us there, then you should at least come and find me whenever you can.”
His silence was an invitation for her to begin again; he liked this mutual exchange.

SOOO sorry for the crappy post!
Ryku looked upon Dax with a sigh and nodded in a yes. “Yes they did. They thought of me as the sikla of the pack and much like the Sarnes that was how my family lived. I was surprised that I turned out the way I did even with the things that happened in my life.” She answered looking down at the ground then her eyes flashed back up to Dax’s. Her amber eyes lingered on his as she stared her heart felt like it skipped a beat as a smile stretched across her face. Though the only reason that the ebon fae had survived was Koiji and Silve’s help or she would be dead. They had been great friends to her and she appreciated their help. She couldn’t have made it without them.
The she-varg heard the anger erupting into growls from his chest and smiled in response. She was glad that he would do something for her though she wished he didn’t have to. “Oh Dax I doubt I’ll ever see him again.” Her voice was soft trying to relax him. “I can take care of myself though I thank you for the offer.” The ebony femme nuzzled him trying to calm the Mann down. Ryku had other troubles with bullies like the ones in the meadow when Ryku had escaped the hunters after getting shot with an arrow.
Ryku listened to his silky voice flow through her onyx ears and heard him say he was the pack nurse. “About time a pack had a male nurse.” Her voice was strong and honest for it wasn’t something you would see everyday though you should see more of that. Ryku listened to the rest of his story. The black-pelted fae wished she could have seen other cubs grow and mature so she may have her chance to take care of them while the others were hunting or off somewhere. Ryku just adored pups. His remark of one of his pack mates left his eyes dancing. Ryku let out a small chuckle as he continued.
Ryku smiled at him and saw the invitaion to continue talking. "Well after i meant Koiji i set off by myself and found a black fae about my size. She was Ayame from the List pack. I swear if her Dragga hadn't called when he did then i could have been hurt." her voice was small at the en as she looked at the ground. "I haven't seen her since that day." As he caught her eyes one of her ears bent to the side like a small cub and a smile widely spread across her maw. “Of course I will make sure to meet up with you two.” Her voice was filled with happiness as her tail brushed cold earth ground. Ryku’s golden hues fell under the spell of his eyes causing her to stare. She couldn’t look away if she tried. Her amber orbs danced with curiosity and her ears twitched. The tree the two were under was creaking as the calm wind blew past. Ryku felt too cramped in the small space so she stood up and walk out of the shelter. The black fae shook her fur. Ryku smiled at the mann for him to come join her on the outside were Fenris’ warm rays were warming the ground.

A deep frown creased his long muzzle ; like Sarnes? Sarnes, from the little he knew about them, were inhospitable at best. Daxton firmly believed that they only acted the way they did to overcompensate for pathetic puphoods; he didn't fear Sarnes. They disgusted him more than anything. ”But, you never hear of cubs being born into Sarnes...why would a pack similar to them even take the effort to whelp if they didn't want to take the time to take care of them?” His frown transitioned into a reassuring smile, kind blue eyes gleaming. ”If it makes it any better, despite the upbringing you suffered, you still turned into a lovely fae. It's not often someone raised in negative conditions turns out to be so friendly.”
Dax snorted, his tail sweeping up over his back. ”Yeah, well,” he muttered, eyes lowering to his paws in a glare for whoever the dragga was. ”If you ever need me, I'll be there. And if you ever run into him again, and he causes you problems, please, just...let me know.” Ryku's voice was gentle, soothing, and he smiled as her maw brushed against his fur. He flicked his ears back, slightly embarrassed, and flicked his thick tail against hers.
Quick to agree with her statement, the mann grinned broadly and chuckled. ”Well, I'm glad you agree, though most draggas don't think the same way you do. Besides, it is true that drappas have more “instincts” than us males...but I love cubs. I'm hoping to be able to help with them when I get into Deor.” He hesitated for a moment before adding quietly, ”Well, as long as I get into Deor.” While Capella had been swift to reassure his wilting ego that the Dragga wouldn't turn him away, he still had his doubts. While he had been a key component of Mato, he had been born into the pack and achieving ranks wasn't too difficult because his mother's litter was the second in the pack's short history, whelped only a week or so after Kele's.
Ryku's ears turned her into rather comical sight and Dax snickered, though he nodded with more serious air as she agreed to rendezvouz with he and Capella. Without any warning, however, Ryku stood and trotted out of the hollow trunk, leaving the dragga by himself. Hesitating for only a brief moment, Dax scrambled into a crouch and awkwardly shuffled out of the den, cherry tail careful to not brush the ground. He stood up, blinking away the previous dark while opening his jowls in a cavernous yawn and stretching. Shaking himself, he peered down, and then over his shoulder, visibly drooping at the sight of his soiled pelt. ”So, what now?”

Ryku frowned as a result of his upon his own maw. Though they fought and acted like Sarnes they really only kept the pups that were strong enough to endure the pain of being alone. “Well not just like Sarnes but they fought and acted like them. They did indeed bare pups but they trained them to be killers.” Ryku’s voice flowed almost like an uneven river. Her eyes gazed back into his as a smile spread widely across her maw. “Thank you Dax.” She said with a soft gentle voice. Her amber eyes twinkled happily that he was so understanding and kind. The two had just meant and they had been getting along fine. The black-pelted varg’s mood changed to a more of a enthusiastic one.
Her golden hues watched him making sure he was controlling his anger. “Thanks Dax. I don’t think I have ever meant someone who would do that for me.” The words came out slow and gentle. Her tail was wagging a bit as her ears pinned against her head. “Yes I’ll make sure to tell you.” She said giving in to him. The she-wolf wanted him to be happy and she knew if she gave in it would give him some reassurance. The ebon fae felt his tail flick hers so she gently flicked his flank.
Listening to him she smiled broadly. “I quite adore cubs also though this might sound cubbish but…” she let her sentence hanging as she looked at the ground her amber orbs looking at him from behind her lids. “I have always wished to be a scout you know me and my sister played like that and I had always been the spy or something like that.” She chuckled and stared back up at him. “And luckily I got accepted as a scout.” Her voice was laughing and her own eyes danced. At his doubt of getting into Deor she frowned a little bit. “I’m sure you’ll get in.” the ebony femme laughed. Fenris was growing bigger in the sky as He looked down on the two.
To his question this put her into the thinking process. The two could set off and hunt, or they could stay and talk. Ryku’s amber eyes looked into the sky and then flickered back to Dax. The black-pelted femme smiled and sauntered over to him and nudged his flank playfully. “Well I would really like to hear that pick-up line.” She said to him her amber hues stared into his. She snickered remembering how they joked with each other at the forest after escaping the wrath of the dogs and human hunters.

Dax glanced at her sadly, dipping his muzzle and pinning an ear. ”That's not how wolves are meant to live,” he spoke softly, gingerly shaking his head. “If we were meant to fight each other all the time, then we would all be built like bears and wouldn't have minds for anything else. But we have emotions, and choices, and temptations, and all of those things together means that the gods don't want us fighting each other all the time. We'd be far more primitive than we are now, far more violent. I'm sorry that you had to grow up in such conditions.” He offered her a sort of shrug, something that looked very odd on a wolf; it was more like a shift of his weight and his fur ruffled as a result. He raised a brow at Ryku. “Anyone who claims to be a friend is someone who should be willing to put themselves between you and anyone who proves to not be a friend, you know? Besides, you only receive what you give.”
Dax laughed, a full, spirited laugh that shook his whole body. “You forget that I practically half raised the majority of my pack's offspring. More than often, I had to play the enemy wolf, though, or eve worse- some lonesome herla. You don't know a cub's strength until a whole litter of them pull you to the ground. It was a lot of fun, though, I have to admit that. I never really lost my immaturity, though; that job kept me young. I'll be five years old in just another season or so, and you'd never know it.” He nodded happily at her words; if she was given her first choice, perhaps he would as well. And then, of course, that line he had heard many times. He laughed, though lighter. “So I've been told. If you're wrong, I'll never let it go.” He winked, settling himself on the damp earth. It was wonderful to be out of the den; the air was incredibly refreshing. Ryku caught his blue gaze with her golden ones and he smiled, returning her stare- but as she asked for a pick-up line that he didn't have, he tossed his head back and roared with laughter, swiping a paw at her playfully.
Shaking his head, he turned to her, fumbling mentally. After a several moments, he grinned and shoved her shoulder with his muzzle. “Hey there, miss,” he began, eyes dancing. “I'm a thief, and I'm here to steal your heart.” He almost faltered there, at the end, but instead he almost snickered. “How was that?” he joked, poking her with an outstretched paw.

Listening to his protest Ryku agreed. Though she smiled softly at him she somehow still came to love her family. “Yes I agree Dax but even though I was put through all that I still seem to love them…” she broke off her words lingering in the air. The ground was soft and moist beneath her feet. He spoke of friends then and the black-pelted fae smiled. He was too thoughtful of the fae and too willing to do that for her even if it was for friendship. “And again I thank you Dax.” Her voice was gentle and smooth.
Her ears twitched and pricked up as he began to speak again. Hearing his story made Ryku think of what it would have been like to have had a loving family like that. She chuckled as he spoke of the pups tackling him. Ryku had not known his age and he seemed to be a year older than her. Ryku herself was turning four in about two seasons. “Well does it look like I would be turning four in about two seasons?” she asked this honestly not joking. She chuckled now that was a joke. Her amber eyes trailed up to his face and stared at him. She doubted “All my friends say I’m old. Though they are all cubs.”he would never let it go that the fae was wrong but you never know. “I’m sure you’ll forget within a month.” The black-pelted drappa said and flicked her tail on to his flank.
She nudged him back playfully. As the words formed and flowed out of her mouth she tried not to laugh as hard as she could. When he asked her what she thought she made the most dramatically comical face. “Oh I think you’ve stolen my heart already Dax.” She said then laughed innocently. She turned her head back to the Mann and smiled sweetly. Her eyes watched him carefully then she stared at him asking him to follow her as she started to walk down the rive side.
In all truth she hoped her would follow her and she had no doubt in her mind that he wouln't be accepted into Deor. He was swert and kind and he loved pups which would come in handy for Mist who was currently carring Dakota Spirit's cubs. Ryku couldn't wait she loved cubs. The ebony femme stopped after a few steps and looked back at Dax. "Are you coming or not?" she asked her voice playfully sweet.
