After taking a few small steps in pretense to leave Mist nods at Chayton's words with drama and then turns with a look of mock surprise on her face as Farrah "comes back to life". She tries hard to keep a smile off her face at the dramatic fae's antics and comforting of Chayton. As Farrah turns to her she does her best to look sympathetic and kind, and nods exaggeratedly as Farrah asks her to take them fishing. At Chayton's laughter she looks at the young mann for a moment with her head tilted before joining in herself and sitting down as she shakes from laughter.
She gets control of herself a moment before Chayton and as he apologizes she smiles and shakes her head. "Indeed I would have told you about her if I had known her even better, but I am starting to see the 'real' Farrah. These past few days she has shown her true character even more clearly than before." She speaks, looking first at Chayton and then turning to Farrah, her golden orbs shining with mirth and happiness. At Chayton's next statement she nods and grins at him, laughing softly. "Oh Tor, you mustn't drown someone else in fish too, Chayton!" She says in a mock horrified tone. "What would Tor say if I died and complained about the manner of my death? I suppose it would be my own fault for teaching you so well!"
Shaking her head she stands and nods. 'Well, I'll just have to come to that problem when I get there. For now, it is time to go fishing, and I suppose you'll learn fast, Chayton, so perhaps you'll be grateful enough to spare me the fishy death." She smiles at him, still amused by their joke from the day they met. Nodding she agrees heartily. "I am glad I met you too, Chayton..." As he takes off running she raises an eyebrow before sprinting after him. "Oh that's how it is, is it?" She asks laughingly as she runs swiftly toward the river, slowly catching up the the young mann in front of her.

Chayton looked back to see Farrah closing the gap between them. Excitment pulsating through his entire body he lowered himself to the ground and burst forward with a new speed. Glancing back he saw the Farrah was still gaining on him. "You'll never catch me!" He shouted back, laughing as he ran.
Chayton galloped on, but as he heard Mist join in on their game he knew that it would only be a matter of seconds before she caught up with him. For he was still young and hadn't fully developed into a adolecent. Actually, he hadn't reached the stage where his limbs became long and his paws were to bigh for his own good. "Oh no!" Chayton shouted as Mist caught up with him, Farrah too. "Look the river!"
Chayton let his rear end drop and his haunches hit the ground. He extended his front legs and his back legs shortened. Snow, or atleast the mushy slushy stuff, shot forward in front of him as he tried to stop before catapulting into the mostly frozen river. It did however appear to be melting.
Blue orbs widened as the river got closer and still he hadn't stopped. Digging his claws into the ground Chayton lurched forward, his body went through the air and he landed with a rather messy splat. Maw first into the slushy melting snow that bordered the river.

Mist laughs with exhilaration as she runs, and the movement brings both freedom to her lithe limbs and memories of her puphood. She tosses her head up to the sky and barks with happiness as she and her two friends race through the think powder. Hearing Chayton yell "you can't catch me!" at Farrah, Mist puts on a burst of speed to come up with the young mann before long, mainly for fun and competition, but she also briefly thinks of the swift flowing river ahead of the racers and wants to make sure she reaches it before Chayton to make sure he doesn't fall in.
Right after this musing she comes upon both Chayton and the river, and stops short in surprise, having not thought the wide expanse to be so close. Seeing the mann's danger she gives an alarmed bark before springing down to him and gripping the scruff of his neck in her powerful jaws. Pulling him off the slippery, fragile bank she lets go and looks him over to make sure he is safe other than the same fear she herself feels.
Breathing a sigh of relief she pads up the bank to make sure there will be no more incidents in the next few minutes and from her higher position looks across and down the river. After a moment she nods in satisfaction as she sees the small fishing inlet she had spoken of earlier. Looking at her friends she nods her head toward the area. "Well, after that little excitement, do you still want to try fishing today?"
((Chayton, I know you were fairly well clear of danger but snowy winter banks can often be dangerous and break off or let someone slip in and I didn't want anything to happen to you.))

(((stealing Farrah's spot since she ain't replying. Aww thank you Mist)))
It was all over in a flash, the river had come up quickly. The jaws of Mist had stopped Chayton fron being flung into the river. It's icy cold feeling taking in anything that neared it.
Chayton shook his muzzle, the sluchy snow flung from his maw and splattered the ground. He had thought for a moment that he might go flying into the water. Luckily he had his friend Mist to help him. Not that it would've been deadly, but the cold water and cold temperature could lead to problems. The bi-hued mann turned to face Mist. Giving her a thankful lick and a exhuberant wag of his tassel. "Thanks. Of course I'd still love to fish. But..." He turned to Farrah, after her fake death attack, one could never be too careful. "We;;, it's up to Farrah. Since she nearly died today I don't know how up to much activity she is." He gave her a look of worry.
Chayton couldn't help but be overcome by a rather large grin. The mann shook out his coat. "I'd love to learn to fish. So unless Farrah or you ." He looked at Mist. "I'm up to it, what's life without a little adventure anyway?" He laughed. IT was good to be with friends.

Farrah was loving the fun. She and Mist overtook Chayton and were racing towards the finish...which was a lot closer than had been anticipated. Farrah looked over and watched Mist grab Chayton. That was the last thing she saw before doing a face-plant into othe slushy embankment of melting ice and snow. She sat up, looked around feeling very cold, shook off, and laughed. She could only guess that it would have been hillious to watch. When Chayton enquired about whether or not she was able to fish after her near-death experience, Farrah began to quiver a little and act elderly. "Well, sonny," she said, curling her lips over her teeth to make it sound as though all the enamel in her maw had evacuated, "I'm not sure I guess I'll just have to tell you after I whoop your rear in catching the most fishies!!!"
((Short. Crappy. Long anticipated. Yep. Perfect recipe for disaster. I apologize))

Mist smiles and nods at Chayton's reply. "Ah, yes... that could certainly determine our activities for the rest of the day." She shakes her head, indicating that she has no objection to the venture, especially since she had suggested it, and the sooner she teaches Chayton the sooner he can fish for himself - an often critical skill in the life of a varg, especially in the winter months.
As Farrah joins them with a slide and a face plant Mist cannot help but grin at the scene. Padding to her friend to inquire after her well being but then laughs for real as she hears Farrah's laugh - a sure sign of her safety. "Goodness, Farrah! You seem to be having a good many encounters with the snow today, I would be careful, m'dear! I don't want to see you all of a sudden get stuck somewhere or something! If this occurs I certainly will do everything I can, but I'm not in the habit of having to rescue my friends in the dead of winter." Grinning she shakes her head at the thought and prays half-truthfully that there will be no more need for rescuing at least for the rest of the day.
At Farrah's pretense of old age Mist puts on a face of exaggerated concern for her "old" friend. Shaking her head slowly at the beginning of Farrah's answer she bounds to her feet at the end and grins. "Well it looks like we'll be going fishing afterall! Chayton, today is the day. It seems we won't have to wait until spring!" Turning to Farrah a glint of mischief comes into her bright eyes and she refers to her friend's act of age. "Hmm, if you are old, Farrah... perhaps it is you who should be teaching us youngins to fish. I'm sure we could learn from your great experience..."

Chayton gave Farrah a look of slight amusement. The nechoed her old varg voice. "Tis true Mist, perhaps we should show her some respect then, look how old her bones are." He laughed, Farrah reminded him of what he thought his own sister would've been like, if she hadn't been murdered before she could even defend herself.
Chayton puffed out his chest at Farrah's remark and turned to Mist. "With Mist teaching me I'll have you lying flat in a pile of fish so high that Tor herself can have a feast!" He barked, giving Mist a wink. "I'm sorry Mist, but it looks like you being buried in fish will have to wait." He grinned and launched himself into the snow so that the sluch flew everywhere.
Uncovering himself he barked happily. Approaching the river bank cautiously and watching the unsuspecting fish swim about. Poor fishies, unsuspecting their doom.He chuckled at the thought. Actually come to think of it, he was pretty hungry himself. He turned back to both fae's and nodded his head. He was ready whenever they were. Ready to feast himself upon some fish. HE would become the greatest fish hunter ever, then he could shower Mist with them and she wouldn't have to fish. He smiled at the thought of being able to take care of someone. No one need worry about him, he was fine caring for hinmself, he just needed others to care for. To protect and have fun with.

Still acting old and frail, Farrah raised a paw, shaking it with dramatic feableness, and said "I would show you my expert skills but" she paused to make a huge choky cough "I'm just too weak, ya see...I'll have to just sit back and join in when my "old bones" feel like they can handle it..." She grinned mischieviously. That's when Chayton decided to splash the landscape with sludge. "ACK!!!" she cried, forgeting her act, to duck and cover. "Wow!!!" Farrah howled, looked around with feign amazement. "This snow must heal one quickly!!! I feel young again!!!" She danced around a few times, then looked over at Mist. "Come now, wise mentor. Teach us the force!"

Mist shrugs slightly and nods at Chayton, her eyes sparkling with amusement at her friend's antics. "Ah, you're probably true. One so venerable should be shown only the greatest respect..." At Chayton's mock regretful statement she lifts her head and laughs, nodding to show her enjoyment and agreement. "Ah, well it seems I can avoid that fate for a bit longer, thank Tor. As much as I love fish, and as much as I love you Chayton, as I've told you before, that does not seem like a..." still giggling slightly she goes on, "romantic end to me..."
She turns her attention to Farrah, putting an expression of exaggerated surprise as all "age" is lifted from Farrah and she springs up, as spry once again as a young pup. "I have always thought there were good things about winter, and there! One such miracle is revealed!" Grinning she shakes her head at Farrah's new name for her and then nods. "Ah, yes! Let us continue in this venture!"

Although Chayton knew that Mist had an affectionate heart for him, he never expected her to say "as much as I love you". PErhaps he was misunderstanding something in what she said.
But, when Farrah suddenly came back to life Chayton le tout a happy bark. "Then it is settled! Mist, teach us to fish, since it is obviously on of your great qualities." He smiled and pranced around close to the water, watching the fish swarm about. Chayton wagged his tassel, he turned back to Mist and grinned.
He grinned, anxious to begin the lesson of fishing. " I must warn you, I may not be the best fisher, but it may be a funny sight to see me try and fish." HE bounded along the river, chasing some of the fish that swam under ice.
Slowing down he trotted back towards the faes and sat down to wait for his lesson.

((OOC: This may not flow very well since it's been so long and Farrah hasn't posted, but I'll do my best. Also, since Mist and Chayton are now mates I'll kinda jump ahead in time with that and have them be mates in this thread too...))
Not able to resist Mist grins, her eyes glinting in excitement and mischievousness. She shakes the slushy snow of her pelt and scooping up a pawful, hurls it toward Chayton, her tail wagging enthusiastically. At the surprise on his face she grins and giggles, shaking her head in amusement. As she caught him right after his words she nods and, still grinning, glances toward the river. "Now, now... I know I started it, love, but don't give in to the temptation of getting me back or I might have second thoughts about teaching you." Lowering her voice she moves closer to the swiftly running water, keeping her eyes on Chayton for a moment. "Plus, we don't want to scare away all the fish!"
She laughs softly and nods. "Yes, it would be hard to teach you if there was nothing to teach you on, and since it is one of my good qualities, I don't want to spoil this rare moment." Closing her eyes she lifts her face to the sun as if basking in the happiness of the feeling. After a moment she lowers her head and winks at Chayton before looking back into the snow-melt water, her eyes sparkling as they fall on some handy trout. Licking her chops she motions Chayton over with her head, cautioning him again to be quiet as he races along the riverbank, seeming to chase the fish.
Shaking her head at his antics she grins as he settles down and joins her. "Now, love, the first and most important thing is silence and awareness. If the fish know you are there they will swim away. You must keep silent and not scare them away, and it is also good to have the sun ahead of you so your shadow does not fall into the water. Fishing takes patience..." She nudges him playfully with her muzzle and winks again, knowing that once he puts himself into the task and practices, he will be an excellent fisher.
((also, I'm only posting since Farrah hasn't been on in so long. Farrah, dear, if you come back, tell me and I'll include you into this post!))
