A cool breeze stirs the tree tops in the snow-covered packlands of Deor. Light snow falls every so often from the branches, heavily laden with new snow. Any noises heard in the land are muffled by the insulating cover of white. A line of paw prints trail back into the the dense cover of the trees and following them the other way they lead towards a sleek dark grey fae.
She is wading slowly though the puffy new snow to reach a high point in the land and get out of the burdensome, thick powder. Reaching the mesa she looks about her at her still home and suddenly throws up her head and howls to the clear sky. The call echoes over the apparent emptiness, calling to any vargs in the area to come and join her.
Mist shivers with happiness and blinks in the bright sunlight as it reflects off the snow crystals. She thinks of her past life and her beloved pack, looking at her paw prints in the snow. Though they are the only prints to be seen in the newly fallen snow, she feels overwhelming joy in knowing that there will be others soon. Her pack is alive and well, and is much more than simply a pack. Though not all of the members know each other as well as many families, the friendship and encouragement between them goes beyond pack lines.
Mist sighs softly, realizing that with such truly wonderful pack members, the support will continue to grow and to extend to any other new pack members in the future. She tilts her head and closes her eyes slightly as she sees a dark form moving toward her - still in the shadow of the forest but moving toward the bright, sunlit hill upon which she sits.

((I just love to ruin your good threads. )) Farrah skipped along, enjoying the crunchy cushion of snow beneath her paws, following aimlessly a set of tracks. They smelled like Mist, her beloved adopted mother of sorts, and she had decided lately that bugging others was the first thing on her list of stuff to do, SO...off she went. She had disembarked soon after she awoke, needing something to do before she got too bored and went clinically insane... She giggled at that last thought. Leedle bit past the mark on that one, aren't cha, Farrah? No precious! Not at all!Oh be quiet and concentrate on annoying someone other than me!Thus, she resumed her search. She followed the prints for a ways, and then stopped, perking her ears to the resounding blissful cadence of a varg's howl, up ahead. Hmmm...I wonder who that could be? she thought, sarcastically. She began to trot up the above peak to its zenith, where she was sure she'd find her friend. There, at the top, was Mist, looking extremely happy with the world and its inhabitants. The sunshine blared into Farrah's eyes off of the snow, momentarily blinding her. "Hey Mist!" she said, blinking heavily. "How's it going? Conversing with Tor again?"

Despite the ivory climate that gripped the land of Deor, Fenris had successfully managed to bring some much needed warmth to the terra. The day felt rather pleasant with some brisk breeze that would remind the Ge-Radian that it was still Wolfbane’s season. The journey to the Deor lands was a pleasant one with few difficulties. Krystal had been sent to Deor to reestablish pack alliances after a long discussion in Ge-Rad about the neighboring lands. Normally Draeg, the amber dragga of Ge-Rad would send the emissary Cal on such excursions. But with the disappearance of Uskiya’s mate still fresh on her homeland, there was no choice for the dragga but to send his newest pack member and warrior. It also helped that Krystal had all ready met with two Deorians during her travel to Ge-Rad. So it was decided that the bi-colored fae would be sent to represent Ge-Rad, in the hopes of rekindling the alliance that had once stood firm. After a journey that took several suns to complete, the Ge-Radian fae finally found her-self at the border of Deor’s lands.
All ready the scent of Deor filled her nasals as the bi-hued fae approached the borders. Their lands were certainly different then the world of Ge-Rad to which Krystal had grown accustomed too. But that was to be expected. Suddenly a howl would fill the land and find its way to the awaiting ebon auds of the former Zanguzen. It seemed to be an inviting call, probably a meeting of sorts amongst the Deor wolves. Maybe now wasn’t the most appropriate time for a stranger to show herself in unfamiliar lands. But being that Krystal was all ready there, and she had a mission to complete, she decided to answer the song with one of her own. The song of Larka’s blessing. With that thought in mind, Krystal raised her ebon maw to the heavens, to sing the very blessing taught to her by past generations. It was time for Deor to meet Ge-Rad once again, but who would be the first to respond to her reply. For that Krystal waited. She still needed the permission of a Deorian to enter their lands.

As a voice interrups her reverie Mist looks at Farrah, slightly below her, blinking in the bright sun. Smiling she shakes her head. "Hello, Farrah! Well, I suppose you could say that. I wasn't exactly having a conversation, but I suppose.... yes, you could say that. I am doing quite well... Deor is doing wonderfully, and so I cannot help but feel the same. It is good to see our beloved pack with some life again." She says, speaking her thoughts from earlier. "Also, it is such a beautiful day, how could one not be happy?"
After these words her attention is turned to the borders of the pack lands. A howl comes to her through the still sunlit air asking for permission to enter Deor. Tilting her head and listening until the last echoes have faded Mist narrows her eyes as if trying to see beyond the trees at the varg who had given Larka's blessing. She feels acute interest and slight excitement, mixing with her joyful feelings of a moment ago. Not many outsiders visit the pack lands, and this is the first in quite a long while that Mist knows of.
After a moment the smoke-coloured fae nods in satisfaction and, for the second time this morning, raises her maw to the clear sky and howls a note harmonious to that of the questioning appeal to enter the pack lands. Mist's howl is of acceptance and welcoming to the unknown fae, for Mist heard it the tone that it was a fae... also, there was something in the howl that seemed as if it should be familiar. Perhaps the Deorian fae had met this other fae somewhere before but simply does not know her well.
((goodness, Farrah, yes... you are extremely good at that...))

((Teehee...don't blame me! Blame my personality....hey that rhymed!! *feels all proud of self*)) Farrah was smiling broadly; Mist was right: it was a gorgeous day. Fenris was grinning down brightly upon the earth and all seemed good...that was when the howl resounded through the mountains. Mist answered back, and Farrah was puzzled. "Who is that? I have not heard Larka's blessing in many seasons..." She pondered who could be possibly joining them and from what pack...
((ACK! That was extremely short and cruddy...but you didn't leave very much unsaid, Mist, and I really can't get into the posting mood...I'll just wait 'til Krystal posts before I keep going, ok?))

Having woken from a rather nice nap Chayton felt the urge to go exploring in his new pack lands. It was a few days ago that he had met Farrah just after joining Deor. He and Mist and Farrah had gone fishing and now Chayton, though not an expert, was rather good at fishing. His plan to provide Mist with fish when she aged would work now that he knew how. After a large stretch and a rather unexpected whine escaped his maw Chayton was ready to explore. The silence that enveloped him was interrupted by a howl that echoed throughout Deor. Mist. Chayton let out a couple of barks hoping that she would hear them. Taking off at a swift lope Chayton scented the air to find her location. It wouldn't take him long to find her, but something else was going to distract him. Another howl broke the silence. This howl Chayton didn't recognize, but it asked permission to come in to Deor. A Stranger. Chayton thought. Growling in annoyance he put off his visit to Mist to investigate this stranger. After all he was gaurd and hunter of Deor. This was his job.Changing his direction Chayton sped through the forest, excited for his first job assignment, although no one had specifically sent him to do so. As he sped through the Deor terra he could smell Mist and Farrah nearby. A third howl echoes through Deor, obviously Mist has heard the howl asking for Larka's acceptance. Chayton once again gives out a bark. "Mist, I'll go check it out." He calls out, hoping she can hear him. As he continues his gets closer to where the source came from. Slowing down he can make out the figure beyond a couple trees. He pauses, this is his first job, a nervous feeling creeps over him. Although he was raised to be tough and depednent. He was never in much contact with vargs much older than him. Shrugging his shoulders he steps from beyond the trees. As he gets closer to the fae he notices her bi-hued form similar to his. "I'm Chayton, Gaurd of Deor." He gives abow, pushing away the thoughts that he might look rather funny, seeing as he is still a pup. He is aware that Mist has given her Larka's Blessing but wanted to appear just in case. "Mind if I escort you, or would you rather wait here for Mist, she is the one who answered your call." He gave a large grin, happy to meet another varg and begin his life as a memeber of Deor.(((blah blah, bad post sorry. hope you don't mind that I beat you to Krystal Mist

Many suns had gone by since Deor had seen any sign of this thin she-varg, her tri-hued pelt hung loosely from her body as she came up on the set of tracks the varg she'd wanted to see most her mother. As she followed them she noticed the others tracks "Farrah!" she thought happily of her daughter Fenore's hero, shaking her head she continued on her way, but the scent of another sent her into curiosity, she hadn't been around to meet any of the new members that had joined Deor, but had a feeling that her light brown eyes would see them at any moment.
Cagalli wasn't a hard varg to get a long with, she was friendly and very accepting, though it would take a long while to gain her trust due to her experiences with her mate. Then another howl broke through her thoughts she recognized the varg right away, the one she'd met while on her journey "Krystal" the tri-hued fea came up next to Farrah and Mist and looks out curiously before barking a happy and almost lonesome greeting "Mother, Farrah it is nice to see you! " she whined looking up at Mist "It's nice to finally be home" she then turned back to looking where Chayton had addressed Krystal "Who's that down there?"

(OOC: Cagali: I assumed that Krystal was out of eye shot when I wrote this cause I thought you, Mist and Farrah were somewhere else in Deor. If I’m wrong just PM me and I’ll edit my post. Sorry it’s so short and lame)
For a moment the former Zanguzen waited on her haunches as she listened intently to the now utter quiet of the forest of Deor, as if her very hymn of Larka’s blessing had abruptly silenced the terra around her. This sudden disturbance of normalcy perhaps didn’t suit the land and its owners well. But according to Draeg, and from what others spoke of the Deorians, they were a kind a peaceful pack. So why should the femora have anything to be anxious about? Still, she was a stranger in strange lands, and who’s to say that the bi-hued fae didn’t walk in on bad times? Such worries were however silenced by a reply howl of acceptance. Now all that was left to do was decide how to go about from here. Should the Ge-Radian just now walk into the terra as if were here own? Perhaps they would send an emissary to escort the fae, which seemed like the most practical decision. But no sooner had Krystal rose to her ebon paws did a Deorian expose himself from the cover of the trees.
He was the first Deorian that had chosen to see the bi-hued fae personally, though the Ge-Radian did not expect to be greeted by an adolescent who looked as if he had just escaped puppy hood not so long ago. They shared the similarities of being bi-hued; however ivory dominated Chayton’s pelt, with a streak of sapphire laid across his eyes and face. “Krystal, warrior of Ge-Rad.” She responded to the guard upon granting the adolescent a bow of her own. To reach the status of guard at his age was truly something special. There must be special properties behind Chayton that hey dormant within his still growing body. A smile broke Krystal’s ebon maw as Chayton spoke of Mist, one of two fae’s who she knew resided in Deor’s lands. “That would be wonderful Chayton if you could take me to Mist.” Krystal would certainly feel better in these strange lands if she could be around a familiar face. And perhaps if luck was on the Ge-Radian’s side, the mother of Cagali could perhaps even organize a meeting so that Krystal could meet with everyone.

At the new fae's response Chayton puffed out his chest alittle. It was true that he was still young, but he was beyond most pups' abilities of his age. THough he would rather be friendly than to raise a lip. He tried to be agreeable and wanted nothing more than to have a family. "It's nice to meet you Krystal. I hope you find Deor a wonderful place. I've never heard of Ge-rad, though I haven't heard of many packs." He rattled off, then realizing what he was doing he gave a sheepish grin. "Sorry, anyway. If you'll follow me please." He gave a swish of his tail before letting out a laugh and trotting forward.
"I saw Mist around here." He smiled, scanning the land before finding a hill not to far away. He gazed at it for a moment then saw Mist, Farrah and another varg he hadn't met. A member of Deor. "There she is!" Chayton barked. "Mist, you have a visitor!" He barked out, hoping that she would hear him. Turning back to Krystal he gave a gesture with his head and trotted toward the three vargs a top the hill.
"If you don't mind me asking, which is fine if you do. But what brings you to Deor?" He slowed down so he and Krystal were side by side. "II don't know much of the pack standings and all. I know a few other packs, but those are the packs that aren't really friendly." As they reached the hill Chayton barked up at Mist, hoping she would come down rather than he having to go up. "She might come down, otherwise it looks like we're gonna have to go up." He smiled, hoping that Krystal didn't find him to talkative or anything, this was after all his first duty as part of this pack. He sat down on his haunches, anxious to hear what message Krystal had for Mist and the pack of Deor for that matter. As he looked he realized that Farrah was probably going to do something strange, as was her nature of doing so. She was funny, which was one reason he liked her. She was the carefree varg who could laugh at herself, and everyone else for that matter. He wondered who the varg he hadn't met was, obviously a Deorian, which meant that CHayton was gonna meet a new family member! He was excited.

Shaking her head slowly Mist answers Farrah without taking her eyes off the border of the packlands. "I am not sure... The call somehow seems familiar, I feel that I should recognize it." Turning to her friend she nods in agreement. "You are right, Deor has been quite quiet for the longest time, perhaps we will start getting friendly visitors again..." The grey fae's attention is drawn away from the conversation as she hears a faint bark of her name come to her. Peering across the bright landscape for the source of the sound she smiles when she recognizes the figure. Standing she barks in acknowledgement to Chayton's words and nods, knowing that he will bring the stranger into the lands with honor and respect.
At soft footsteps in the newly fallen snow Mist turns to see the newcomer. A smile breaks out on her face as she sees her daughter, and she steps forward to greet the lovely young fae. She nuzzles Cagalli's neck gently before stepping back and looking her over. "Cagalli, darling! I have missed you..." Smiling at her daughter she glances back down at the border before answering the question as she finally realizes who the strange varg was who had given Larka's blessing. "Krystal you know, and the other is Chayton, who just recently joined us. You will like him, my dear. He has already made a valuable addition to Deor."
Smiling as she sees the two figures coming closer she nods and steps forward once more at Chayton's words. Glancing back at Cagalli and Farrah to see if they will follow her Mist smiles at the two before turning back to Chayton and Krystal. Noticing that they had stopped she lopes down the steep hill, tossing up crystal powder as she goes. Reaching them she smiles at Chayton before turning to Krystal and bowing in greeting, welcoming the bi-hued fae as senior packmember present in the group. "Welcome to the Deor packlands, Krystal. I have long wondered if you would grace us with your presence. What brings you to us?"

The bi-colored fae still had doubts about her ability to coincide with the strange pack. Such jobs were better left to the well tuned tongues of emissaries. But according to her Dragga, Krystal could indeed pull off this much needed task. As of late, Ge-Rad and Deor had remained out of contact. And if ever a time of great need came to the Ge-Radians, it would be very useful to know that Deor would still come to there aid. But that wasn’t the only reason Krystal had accepted this mission. Things had not gone well for the former Zanguzen during her stay with Ge-Rad. Although accepted by the amber Dragga, there were still many issues left unchanged. Krystal had the sinking feeling that her new family didn’t trust her. And perhaps this was all just a way to get Krystal out of Ge-Radian lands, so that Draeg could have time to convince the pack of her usefulness. What ever the reason may be, she was here now. And at the very least, the bi-hued fae had friends in Deor, so not all was bad.
An adolescent Chayton may be, but the young male certainly could be mistaken for an older Varg if one were to judge only by his inner maturity. Gone was the childlike ways of a pup, replaced instead with a sense of respect not held normally by one of his age. Perhaps something may have happened in Chayton’s life that had forced the young male to grow up early. After a brief nod, Krystal followed the guard towards a hill that lay not to far from where they stood. Krystal’s sapphire and emerald gaze traveled up the powdered mount and soon caught the sight of three more Deorians. Two she recognized from her earlier travels, having met both of them separately while on her way to Ge-Rad. Krystal’s ebon banner began to sway contently as the sight of familer faces came into view. Things seemed to be looking up now at least, for Krystal now felt more comfortable in the presence of familiar faces. Fenris had blessed Deor’s lands, as his gentle tongue bathed the terra in warmth. His sheen fell on the bi-colored fae, as Krystal’s pelt complimented the light with an easy glow of her soft pelt.
Her joy now visible on her midnight expression, Krystal’s gaze found the form of a rather joyful Chayton. His inner cub seemed to come out more now, for he was indeed curious as to the nature of the imperfect Zanguzen’s visit. “It’s fine.” Krystal responded with a smile. “You’ll know very soon Chayton. Thank you for guiding me.” Before long, Mist would be the first to traverse the hill, eager to see both Vargs. The Ge-Radian bowed her own head in greeting much like Mist had, and listened to the words of the pack elder before she in turn spoke. “It’s good too see you again Mist.” Krystal spoke as her ebon banner began to sway faster. “I hope all is well with you and your family. Well you see I was sent to visit your home by Draeg of Ge-Rad to as he says, rekindle pack alliances. But when I learned that I would be traveling to Deor, I remembered you mentioned you lived here, so I came to see how you and your daughter Cagalli are doing.” With that said, Krystal waited for Mist’s response. Her gaze once again turned momentarily toward the happy Chayton. He certainly seemed like a happy go lucky Varg who reminded the bi-colored fae of Kaemon.

[glow=black,5,000][OH MY THERE WAS SO MUCH TO READ. Sorry it took so long... I don't have an excuse. Short, you'll get over it.]
The great Dragga's paws crunched into the fresh lair of snow, leaving large, harsh prints against the flakes. A halo of friendliness seemed to surround the oversized varg, though his stature said differently - he was as large as a small bear, muscled like a celestial warrior. However, he used the gift of size against his enemies and to the advantage of his pack and dedicated himself to its protection. This was Chalos, a rust-tainted creature of ebony. On his rump, a storm of snow chased away the autumn that his body sported; winter was the bum-end of autumn, after all!
As Chalos neared, his nose scented something.. different. Someone new had come into Deor. His first impression was that the newcomer might be a threat, but the wind carried the scent to him once more and he caught another packland mingling with it - Ge-Rad. Knowing that Ge-Rad was now led by an old friend, Draeg, the monstrous alpha felt a smile tugging at his lips; was Draeg still with Ge-Rad? Had this new varg been sent to notify him of Draeg's step-down from his position or possibly his death? Question upon question popped into his mind until it was a jumble of curiosity and worry.
The sinew of his legs tightened and hardened as the onyx varg trot gently to the gathering, bowing his head respectfully to Krystal. It was usual for Chalos to show respect to others, no matter their position - for him, all lupine deserved courtesy, no matter their flaw or label. "Ge-Rad messenger." He smiled, approaching Krystal after nodding a greeting to each of his packmembers - Mist, Chayton, Cagalli, Farrah. Draeg could still be scented upon her; he was alive. "Draeg the Amber must have sent you.. For what reason might I hail your approach over Deor boundaries?"[/glow]

((ACK!!! I have an excuse. Haha Chalos!! My computer was down for this past week...yuck. I hate that. Anyhoo, I'm here now, so tada. I'll try to catch up!!! YAY!!)) Farrah hoped Mist was right. Deor could definitely use peaceful, friendly visits from neighboring packs. Hopefully, whoever was trying to enter was not bringing bad news. That would ruin kindly thoughts. As once was said, "do not strike the messenger"...Farrah hoped she wouldn't want to. However, this rancid thought was curtailed by the entrance of a long-held friend: Cagalli. "Cagalli!! I've missed you!!! I haven't seen you in forever and a day!!! Where have you been?" However, this thought was cut short and its continuation was deprived by Chayton escorting another varg. Farrah liked Chayton. He was an interesting varg and was not afraid to laugh at her extremely strange and misunderstood humor. He also enjoyed playing along occasionally and was not afraid to act as weird and sometimes and stupid as she was yet to carry himself well in situations that called for other moods. The wolf that walked alongside him was very beautiful. She and Chayton shared many similar qualities. I wonder if they're related she thought subconsciously, then shook it off and decided to ignore her fake other personality and wonder who the Tor this stranger was. Farrah did not recognize her. That unnerved Farrah. Though she did not know many varg in the forest, she always liked to be acquainted with those of other packs that walked into her homeland. She decided she needed to be properly introduced before anyone could muddle it up for themselves. When Mist began trekking down the hill, Farrah simply rolled. She did a front somersault off the edge and kept going, accumulating a layer of crispy white snow as she went. When she reached the bottom, she made a show of shaking herself off, splaying bits of fluffy powder in all directions. She coughed loudly, pretending to clear her voice, and spoke in a loud, superfluous manner. "Introducing their highnesses Me, Myself, and I!" She then switched over to a regal accent and began bowing and saying "Thenk you, thenk you! Please hold your applause." That's when Chalos entered the scene. Farrah sat up, put her tail slightly down, and grinned. "And if it isn't the royal entourage!" ((UM...yeah. I'll admit it now. That sucked. I'm a little sloppy since I haven't been on this week. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. I feel like Mr. Creasode off of Monty Python now after regurgitating rereading that. Blek.))

As Mist trotted down the hill to greet Krystal, Chayton felt a little younger once more. Not that it was a bad thing, but he was. Shaking that away he wagged his tassel as Mist joined them. He smiled at her in respone and then waited as Mist addressed the Ge-radian. It wasn't but a moment when Farrah came toppling down the hill. Closing his orbs Chayton waited for the barage of snow.
Luckily the snow did not reach him upon his openeing of his orbs. But sure enough, there was Farrah playing up her strange and odd ways. Chayton turned to roll his eyes when he spotted his Dragga. Excitement pulsed through his bi-hued form. He had only seen his Dragga once before, when he had asked permission to join the pack. He gave Chalos a bow of his head before making sure to stand upright. Biting his tongue from laughing at what a sight he probably made.
So much appeared to be happening in Deor, first Chayton was accepted and was meeting his family, and then a visitor from Ge-rad. He sat paitently waiting to hear what the news was, though he couldn't help but smile at Farrah's crazy humor. "Now Farrah, I told you that if you stay out in this cold weather too much that your tail will fall off." He smiled, hoping that Farrah would be her usual self and go off on some tangent or something about her tail. That was usually the case with her. Strange and yet so wonderful.

Smiling at Krystal's bow identical to her own Mist nods in both affirmation and gratitude for Krystal's inquiry. "Yes, I am doing very well. Deor has, by the grace of the gods, been extremely blessed this season with a few new members as well as old members coming back from long travels. As for the family... I should let Cagalli answer for herself and her cubs, for... as much as I am rather ashamed to confess this I have not seen any of the cubs in many days, but as far as I know they are all well..." Smiling at her friend she turns the conversation slightly to more pleasantries before getting down to business. "And you? I hope everything is going well for you and that this reforging of pack alliances does is not a foreboding of ill..."
Before Krystal is able to answer, a new, familiar scent comes to them on the breeze. Mist turns to watch the Deor Dragga come toward them, obviously coming to greet Krystal as the Ge-rad messenger and speak with her, as the head of the pack, the one to hear her message. At Chalos' greeting she nods in reply and cannot help but think it could have been better for him to have arrived a moment earlier, but as it is, it is good that he is here in person to receive the Ge-radian.
A moment after Chalos arrives Farrah decides to join the group, but in a rather less formal way than the Dragga. Mist watches in amusement as her friend tumbles down the steep hill, spraying powder all around her and at the bottom getting up in an attempt at gracefulness. At her words Mist shakes her head and, with a smile still on her face looks at Chayton as he speaks, voicing a part of Mist's own thoughts concerning Farrah's entrance.
Looking at Farrah in continued amusement the grey fae nods. "Aye, he's right Farrah... and toppling down hills in deep powder isn't going to keep you warm either. I suppose you've rather found that out for yourself though at this point." Grinning she turns back to Krystal and Chalos, realizing that this is now the time for more seriousness. The Ge-radian would not have come in such a manner if there was not some reason for her to travel to unknown lands alone.
