ooc: I'm going to apologize right now for the horrible post. XD I wasn't really sure how to start it off oro where to put him, so I put him right outside Ge-Rad territory.
Boreas the Destroyer
Boreas the Destroyer
The morning rays burned against the wolf’s eye lids, bringing him from the world of dreams to reality—a realm that he did not enjoy. He wanted to continue sleeping, but the light was irritating and so, with a grumbling growl, rolled to his stomach and pushed himself upwards, tail curling over his back while his tongue lolled from his jaws in a tired, weary yawn. So far, his time within the land had proven uneventful and boring—not to mention he had yet come in contact with the mighty Wolfbane. He was beginning to feel that his beliefs were ill placed and that he should begin a new search for something far more real and concrete. He was beginning to feel that all his life had been a waste of time and effort. With his mood already dark, he whirled from his bedding spot and set off once again, pausing only once to gain his bearings and then angling his way towards the scent of water—it was strong and so he safely assumed that it was a large body, a river or lake.
The male was not what you would say an impressive image as far as wolves went. He was on the smaller side and rather lean, looking far better built for running then combat. His coat was a mixture of grays both light and dark, black and silvers with the occasional splash of white along his belly and chest. While he had not developed physically like the other males of his pack, he had grown far wiser. He couldn’t defend himself himself against attacks so he had to learn to use his mind and had discovered a great joy in tormenting others.
Boreas had not traveled long before he eased his way through the trees onto the edge of open ground. He was displeased to see the lack of cover, meaning there was a greater chance of being spotted and currently, he was not in the mood for company. His last interaction had left a bad taste in his mouth and had only proved to him that his dislike for others of his kind was well founded. Instead of crossing out into the main section of the meadow, he skirted around the edge. It was easy going for the most part, until he stumbled into what he would have considered a wall. The scent was strong, strong enough to raise his hackles and force him to step backwards. The land was claimed and he was unpleased that it was cutting off his path along the trees. Although, for the most part, he was a bit of a problem creator, he knew when to pick his battles and going up against a pack was not on his list of things to do, so turning away, he veered further into the openness of the meadow, his eyes constantly scanning.
He would not be taken by surprise, because if he was easy to spot then others would surely be. After all, size was on his side, which was something he was not often given the chance to boast about. His smaller stature allowed him to fall below the tops of the grasses, though this of course had its own faults. It made his field of vision much smaller, forcing him to use all his senses to the fullest. Movement to his left made him shy away, only until he realized it was nothing more than a legless serpent. Narrowing his eyes, he watched it slither away and disappear into the grass, leaving him once again, completely alone. “It must be difficult without any legs.” He mumbled after it, snorting and once again moved on. He realized, as he followed the boundary of the pack land, that it was moving further out into the meadow. He had hoped that it would cut back towards the trees, but to his disappointment, it didn’t. Now he would have to stay longer out in the open. Thankfully, he had need not worry about startling potential prey—having already had his fill earlier that day.
Instead, the only thing on Boreas mind was avoiding confrontation and getting across that river. And then, once across, he’d make his way towards the mountains. If his search in the mounds turned out to be a waste of time, he would merely continue on, away from this place and on to whatever next location might offer a chance at discovering the mighty Wolfbane.
