It was a fairly pleasant day, mostly clear skies with a few rain clouds passing by – though you wouldn’t be able to tell if it would rain or not just by looking for the sun was bright and shone high above everything, existing in a world of its own. In fact the beauty of the sun could only be surpassed by the poppies in the meadow. Bright red and yellow and white buds opened wide and would herald the day’s glories, sending their praise to Fenris high above. And O how they danced! A pleasant breeze coaxing them with its melody and the flowers swirled and bounced to the rhythm of the clicking branches and the swishing leaves in the trees all around them. But the music didn’t stop there; it was in the buzzing of the bees, the chirping of crickets, and the sound of cicadas in the forest hiding in the trees. It was a whisper, a drone, a chime; it was an amazing orchestral arrangement that could be matched by no physical composer. Only by the workings of Tor and Fenris could create such amazing beauty and grace as a day like today. And it was thanks to Fenris that the weather was so permitting to the caucus.
Amidst the beauty of the day, was a rather plain looking wolf. A beautiful creature – yes – but as an individual she was just as any other Varg would be. She was the average size, average species, average looks. Not much special about her, save for maybe the dappled gradient of brown that worked its way from her shoulders. Beginning sparse and tightening in intensity and mass as it reached her tail, which was completely brown. Apart from that she was a mostly white wolf, with the bridge of her nose and the back of her ears also colored brown. But still, she didn’t stand out much. Even her muddy eyes she was an average Varg.
Her paws were placed methodically on the ground as she moved through the meadow. Tall grass swept against her sides on occasion and she would carefully step around the flowers, not wishing to ruin the melody that had drawn her here, mesmerized by their dancing. Her eyes followed their movement, and her thick plume swayed behind her slowly. Jun, as she was called, inhaled the soft aroma of the floral arrangement around her. She took in the sweet scent of nectar and tantalizing taste of honey on her tongue. When she exhaled she did so through her mouth, allowing her tongue to loll from her black lips, as her velvet ears twitched to listen to the sounds of Transylvania.
It was her home, she’d been born farther north than here, but it was still her homeland. It was the world that was familiar – even if she hadn’t traversed these lands until now. And it was here that she planned to remain, at least for a while. She might choose to move on, she might even die soon. But that was not the sort of thoughts that one would think of on such a beautiful afternoon as today. To think something of the sort would ruin the magic, the splendor, the wonder. Who would want to do that?
As if the music called for it, Jun couldn’t help but raise her white muzzle to the sun. her lips parted she let fly her own song, a gentle howl that was lifted by the wind unto the heavens and swirled to fill the whole meadow, and perhaps even some of the forest surrounding. ……………………………………………………….. words; 597 song; A Wood Carving Star tag; Open

O o C ; Here goes nothing .». The sunlight dappled itself on the ground as it shone through the trees that surrounded the meadow. The sun itself was high in the sky, gazing fondly down upon the land. Soft, summery breezes were winding their way through the branches of the trees, making the leaves rustle softly. Summer was well and truly on it's way now, life was flowing back into the lands, as if it had never left when the winter came... Flowers were blooming, and the trees were brightening - trading their dull winter attire for brilliantly coloured blossom and lush green leaves. Baby animals scurried about after their anxious mothers, keeping wary eyes on hidden predators and watching for food. Soon, a lot of them would leave their families and start fending for themselves. For wolves, it was almost the time of year that they could feast and bask under the watchful eye of Fenris. The world was awakening again, and so was life.
Padding along through the trees, a Fae slowly made her way toward the little creek that wove gently through the valleys. It was a long time since anyone had seen Koiji, but as the year progressed into the warmer months, the Fae's presence was growing ever more noticed in the Transylvanian mountains again. The young scout had gone out exploring the perimeter of the Deor pack one day and just carried on wandering. She hoped she wouldn't be in too much trouble for her endeavours, but she had told them she'd be gone scouting for a while. As per usual when you found Koiji, she was absent mindedly strolling the lands, with no real destination in mind. Her paws had taken her here today on a whim, and it was a place that she had often used to play in her cub hood. She didn't really stand out in the landscape, but her pelt was shockingly white for a grey wolf. She had four sooty 'socks' on her paws, and a grape underside to her tail.
As she wandered closer to the Meadow, the wind ruffled her downy pelt, revealing a blood red star shape on her shoulder. It was long since healed, but it had still kept it's horrific colour. Her mind wandered. It was weird to think that she'd be two years old in a couple of months... But where had the time gone? Her thoughts turned to her family, wondering how they were. Dear Silve, her adopted mother, Mist, the kind and gentle Drappa of the pack, Delilah, her best friend and all the other pack members she'd met over the course of her time there. And of course, how could she forget Ryu? The icy white Fae breathed a sigh, after that night in the storm, she'd somewhat fallen for him. The valiant defender...
Koiji's paws continued to take her to her unknown destination, and before long she was entering the Meadow. Her icy blue orbs glanced around the place, and she smiled brightly as she watched the dancing flowers wave about in the breeze. She took in a lungful of air and carried on walking. Just as she got the creek, she scented the air. There wasn't anyone in sight, but the air carried a scent toward her quivering nostrils. It was a female, and judging by the growing power of the scent, she was coming nearer. Koiji dropped her head and took some gulps of the cold refreshing water. The Fae sighed contently, and dropped to her tummy, relaxing in the sun. She smiled to herself.
Ah, it's good to be home... She thought to herself. It wasn't long before she dozed off, only coming back round when a howling song entered her ears. It must have been that female she scented before... Slowly, she raised her head, and looked about. Sure enough, a little further down the Meadow than she was, stood a young Fae. Koiji surveyed her for a second before thinking to talk. She opened her mouth and called out to the Fae. "Hello there, nice day, isn't it?" Her voice sounded a little strained seeing as she hadn't used it in a while, but it was still there, just as she left it. Smiling happily, she waited to see what the other wolf would do.[/blockquote]

“Oh yes, it’s glorious!” Jun replied to the strangely colored fae before her. What sort of mutations in the body would bring such abomination to a lovely white pelt? A purple under tale, such a shame to mar something so pristine, the grey wasn’t so bad – and UG! That star. Well, Jun would just have to cheer the girl up for being so unfortunately colored; of course she would never say such a thing to the Varg’s face, that would be far too rude for a wolf of Jun’s caliber. “It is so lovely to see the sun after so long without it. Too much winter makes one worry of Wolfbane.” The young she-wolf bounded over to the white fae, quite friendly was she who was colored white and brown. Quite energetic was Jun, who was a wolf of many inspirations and ideals. “It is surely a pleasure to meet a lovely fae as yourself;” She bowed in respect, tilting her head to show slight submission to the wolf who smelled of a pack. Of course she wondered if calling the she-wolf lovely would be thought of as strange.
In her pack it was not uncommon for bitches to complement each other, whether they really meant it or not was another question entirely, but still. Did they practice such a thing as etiquette and good manners deeper into these lands?
Anyway, the she-wolf – Jun – pranced about a little bit more, enjoying the sunlight and the song, before returning to the fae again and laying near her, but not beside her. “O how rude of me. My name is Jun. I hail from the northern lands from Beyond the Forest.” She smiled again, her thick brown plume swaying behind her.
words; 289 remarks; My apologies for the lack of length, I'm still getting used to this character, it'll be a bit before I can play her properly. Please bear with me. ^u^;;

O o C ; It's okay ; D I'm sorry for the wait ;3 Eeek, not the best, sorry. =o Koiji could see the small Fae before her surveying her strangely coloured pelt. She wanted to ask if something was wrong, but though better of it. Her grape streak under her tail often got a few odd looks from normal coloured Vargs, and the shockingly red scar did also. She raised a brow slightly, and smiled. She knew the other wolf probably didn't mean to stare at her. "Oh yes, I do enjoy a bit of sun, me. Although, not too much, I find that if you stay out long enough, you burn..." She replied lightly to the young she-wolf. Well, she couldn't really call her young. In comparison to herself, she must have been a few moons younger than her if anything. Pulling her head back from the clouds - so to speak - Koiji smiled at the she wolf, of whom she was still to learn the name of. She seemed friendly enough at any rate, and Koiji was willing to see if she could gain a new friend today.
"Why, thank-you. And, um... Ditto! Wait, I mean, it's nice to meet you too." She said with a sheepish grin as she watched the delicate Fae prance around. Koiji would've joined her, but she thought that 'prancing' together was something best reserved for friends or mates. When she other she-Varg introduced herself, Koiji's grin widened. It was nice to be able to associate a name with a face. "Well Jun, it's certainly nice to meet you. I'm Koiji, of the Deor pack. I'm a scout there, and I must say ; best job I've ever had!" Of course, it was the only job the Fae had ever had, but being in Deor had given her a great sense of belonging, and she was immensely proud to be a part of such a noble pack. "You said you were from the north? What brings you down here then, m'dear? It's an awful long way. I should know! I used to live there. Well, near there..."[/blockquote]

“Koiji, that’s a unique name.” Jun’s voice rang in a complimentary tone and she cocked her head to the right slightly, thick plume of brown wagging behind her. “What brings me south? Well, I wasn’t from that far north – I could easily say that this is my home; I’m from a pack in the mountains. As for what brought me here, it was simply my time to leave, mother had another litter, and I didn’t much want to be in the way.” She relaxed back onto her haunches, pink tongue lolling from her opened maw. Even though her pelt had thinned from the past winter, it was still rather thick – and had to be for the territory that she had lived in for it was often ravaging cold on those tall peaks.
“Oh, do you hear that?” She inquired softly, crouching down and laying more Koiji’s level. She closed her eyes, her fuzzy brown ears twitching madly atop her head, straining to hear the sound that she was commenting on, of course she didn’t at all seem worried about it – so Koiji didn’t have to worry either, the sound was not at all dangerous. No, it was a beautiful sound, one that carried over the forest and the meadow. It rang high in the trees and low in the ground. It was a the delicate sound of beating wings, an uplifting rush, as tiny birds took flight, and moved in a giant cascading tornado until they had reached the sky and moved in tiny undulating dots until they had vanished completely from view.

O o C ; Sorry for the wait! ;3
"Why thank-you, Jun. Your name is nice too." Koiji replied, a 'aw shucks' kind of grin plastered upon her maw. She thought she smiled too much, seeing as almost every Varg she met had probably seen her grin. It seemed to be a permanent feature on her muzzle. Koiji nodded, at least - from the snippet of what she'd just heard of Jun's past - it didn't seem like the young Fae had been driven from her homeland, like so many a pup this day and age. And like herself for that matter. The young scout nodded sympathetically, and said ; "Do you miss it much then? Home, I mean." [/i] She hoped her question wasn't too personal, she'd been known to accidentally cause others to think of the more painful memories without meaning to. A pup she'd met about a year ago sprung into her head. Mayta, she'd been called... She wondered how the chocolate and tan pup was now. She hadn't seen her for a long time.
Koiji's ears flickered like Jun's as the younger Fae pointed out the little whooshing sounds of thousands of tiny wings, almost beating as one. They flew up over head, as the two wolves watched, and disappeared from view. Koiji's mouth was slightly open in a small 'o' shape as her brilliantly blue hues watched the birds fly. It seemed to short a time that there were there - a fleeting presence - but one that made you glad that you had been able to witness it all the same. It was beautiful. She smiled gently as she watched the last few stragglers hurry to keep up with the rest of the flock, before turning back to Jun. "That's fantastic, isn't it?" She breathed, shaking her head gently. "You wouldn't have known they were there if they hadn't taken flight, would you?"
The ivory scout thought back suddenly to a tale that she'd once been told during her childhood, one about a strange and mysterious 'gift' - the Sight. She thought for a moment about how the first power of the Sight was to look through the eyes of the birds. Something that she'd long wished to do. A bird was so free, so agile and swift. They could go any where they wanted, and were certainly not tied to the same lands like a wolf was. "Kinda makes you think of that old legend..."[/i] Koiji said, voicing her thoughts. "You know, the Sight. I can't help but wonder what it would be like to witness how free the life of a bird is..."[/i] She trailed off, realizing that she must have sounded stupid. "I'm sorry, that must make me sound like some daydreaming idiot. If you'll excuse the phrase."[/i] She apologized, cracking a small grin. [/blockquote]

“Why thank you – I am named after my deceased Nurse.” She paused in respect for the old fae that had helped her mother for so long and through what seemed so many births. “From time to time I miss my parents, and other times I do miss my siblings, but I know that they are all well and in my heart, and if they are gone then they run with Tor and Fenris – which though sad, is better than being damned with Wolfbane.” She smiled kindly, her tail swaying slowly. “But every time I miss them, I know that I could always return to visit, and I would always be welcome. It is my birth home after all.”
“Marvelous.” She murmured, “Simply marvelous. Isn’t it amazing how they fly, sometimes in my dreams I grow wings and soar with them – I fancy that flight would be a wonderful way of getting around, your feet could rest for a while and yet you wouldn’t have to stop travelling until you became sleepy.” Jun watched the birds as they fluttered away, vanishing into tiny dots that seemed to be eaten by the great blue sky. It was a beautiful and majestic sight that she just couldn’t help but revel in. The beauty, the majesty, life was amazing. But her ears pricked again and her attention was moved back to Koiji, the grape tailed fae. “You certainly wouldn’t have. But if you were close enough you might’ve felt their tiny beaks pecking into the ground, you may have also heard the soft rustle of their feathers against the grass and they search for worms. But you could also frighten them away by being so close.”
Daydreaming is simply dreaming while being awake. I see no problem with such whiles. I quite enjoy the daydream myself actually.” She beamed, flashing a toothy grin at Koiji. “Of course, it’s widely known that the Sight is a curse just as much as it is a blessing. I don’t think I would wish to know the eyes of a scavenger – perhaps a strong eagle or falcon?” Her paws crossed as she laid beside Koiji, basking in the sunlight that poured down upon her thick pelt and this new potential friend. It was wonderful to philosophize on a lovely day – or would it be daydreaming?

Koiji nodded, her blue hues resting lightly on the other Varg, taking in what she was saying about the origins of her name. Jun seemed to have everything pretty well thought out, and Koiji decided quickly that she really admired the creamy coloured Fae for this. Koiji hadn't really thought about what she was going to do in later life, and when she was a cub, she'd been even less aware of what she wanted to do. The icy Fae was just glad that things had worked out as well as they had done for her, seeing as things could have so easily have gone the other way for her. Pulling her head back out of the clouds - so to speak - the scout offered a bit of speech that might be of interest to Jun.
"That sounds great. I'm happy you seem to have got it all worked out, many a Varg around here haven't done anything of the sort." Voicing the thoughts that had been going through her head just moments before, Koiji paused thoughtfully. "It must be nice, knowing that you've got your original family and a place that you could still call home. I was separated from my pack by an attack from rebel wolves, and I honestly couldn't tell you if any of them were still alive. But I've got Deor now, and I'm hopeful that it will stay my home for some time now." [/i] She looked again up at the sky, and watched a lone bird skim through the air. It was a flying Putnar.
Koiji again nodded, she could see that the two of them were going to become fast friends, both were similar - it seemed at the moment at least - personality wise. "I often wished as a cub that I could join them up there, just once. To see what it was like. I suppose in a way, they are the only Lera that have complete freedom in the world. Their little wings could take them to anywhere they wanted to go... Far off worlds, cities... I'd like the Sight, just for that. To experience the freedom of the birds." Koiji was aware that she was sounding much more philosophical than she normally did, and she wondered if her talk would seem weird to Jun. She nodded again as Jun went on to talk about how the birds would have probably gone un-noticed by the other animals for however long they chose to be there. "That's true, we would have had to have been deadly silent to hear them before."Koiji saw Jun flash her a wide, toothy grin, and she returned the gesture with one of her own patented ones. Once again, she nodded at what the other Fae had to say. The young she-Varg laughed lightly at the talk of what bird they'd want to be if Tor and Fenris had decided to make them one. "Ooh, I'd love to be a Falcon, they're so swift. Or maybe even a Kestrel ; I once heard about them from a friend, who said that they were just as beautiful as a Falcon... I don't know how she would know of them..." She smiled again at her new friend, flexing her paws before settling to relax again.

“What is this Deor like? It sounds like you enjoy your stay. What does is this pack made up of?” Jun wondered curiously, tilting her head slightly and parting her maw to allow her tongue to loll from her delicate black lips. “Though I do suppose it is nice knowing that there’s a place I can go if I’m not adept at living on my own, being a Kerl is never easy after all.”
Jun could easily agree with the snowy fae. “Yes, it would be wonderful to experience true freedom. I wonder what the wind feels like up there. I imagine that it would feel very lovely brushing through your fur.” As if to explain the feeling a small gust wound its way around the two girls, ruffling their pelts gently as if a hand was sliding across their bodies in the way a human would pay loving regard to their precious canine companion. They day was far too miraculous to remain hidden away in the forest, too amazing for even rabbits to remain in their warrens. There was life all around, rustling in the trees and tall grass, swimming in the small stream that wound through the meadow, and fluttering through the air. The creamy fae’s tail swayed peacefully as she watched the flying Putnar circle in the sky. A kestrel, Jun wondered what that might look like. “I wonder what it would be like to talk to other Lera. What do you think they would have to say to us? Or do you think they would be too afraid to talk to us mighty Putnar?”
I'm sorry, I ran out of filler.
