Tired paws trudged upon a darkened forest floor, for what seemed like an eternity. Leering, looming branches threatened to snare at you with a sudden vicious force, unknown to this frightened, confused youngster. The whispering of the creatures of the night whirled through the moonlit forest, creating imaginations and fantasies of evil spinning through your forever vulenable mind. It was like a slow torture, one of which you could find no visible escape route, just the endless stream of closely cramped trees and the sounds of the forest, not to mention the seemingly endless darkness.
The white bellied female whimpered slightly as an owl fluttered overhead, giving out a ghost like hoot. Her grey back flinched as a droplet of water from a tree dripped soundlessly upon her. Panic wafted all around her, like a impenitrable disease, never going, just staying. Selene longed just to glance the stars again, to feel their familiar comfort on the darkest of nights, to comfort her mind so full of death.
Her heart gave a grateful leap of joy as a whisper of wind touched her on the face, making her think that the end of the forest was nigh. At last, I will be free! she thought with a mixture of emotions. However, her joy was short lived, for as she rushed between the undergrowth of the forest, and the many branches and roots, a wave of despair washed over her, like it was pining her to the ground. Selene froze suddenly as she stumbled across a small, rather secluded clearing. Her heart melted with anger and despair.
" Will I ever be free?" she murmured sullenly, as she curled up on the ground, golden laterns blazing furiously. Suddenly, she felt the light of the moon upon her, and gave a small gasp as she spotted the stars. A wave of renewed hope ran through her veins, and she settled down happily...watching the stars.
Lykos walked through the woods exploring the lands on this side of the river. He was exploring the whole day and found out more about the lands, he saw a few wolves and other Lera. This showed that there were packs on all sides of the woods, he knew all the packs that were around because of his exploring. Lykos was a great explorer and the only thing he did better then exploring was hunting, he explored the whole side of this river in only ten suns.
As Fenris went down and Tor came up Lykos started to look for a meal. Before he found any Herla Lykos spotted a wolf that looked like a light colored fae. As Lykos often liked to do he silently came into the varg's view and as soon as she closed her eyes he would silently jump out of the way before she opened her eyes again. Lykos did this a few more times because for Lykos this was so much fun, Lykos didn't know much about his past but he did remember being showed how to do this. It was a family game that they played on other wolf packs and sometimes each other.
As her golden, slanting eyes watched the never ending glowing of the familiar stars, her mind turned back to the memory of her sister, Shadowflame, so misunderstood by the rest of the family, standing over the bleeding, dead body of Luperca, the youngest of the litter. A wave of hatred and anger rose with a turmoil of fear and other such mixed emotions, until they threatened to burst out and explode onto the pitiful world around. Selene felt like tearing at the world for punishing her with the tragic deaths, and bitter revelations of her siblings. She closed her golden orbs silently, and prayed to whoever would listen, to keep her safe from her no doubt angry sister, and to make sure she prospered in the future.
Quite suddenly, and unexpectedly, a dark pelted male wolf quietly appeared into her line of vision. Before she could speak, and as she blinked, he seemed to have gone. Snarling slightly, she rose to her paws and scanned the area around her. A few times, this incident happened again, and by the time it seemed to have stopped, Selene was furious. " Show yourself properly, stranger!" she snarled angrily, her hackles raising slightly. A ferocious snarl curled at her maw, and she bared her emaculate teeth around the clearing, searching frantically for the stranger.
" Come now, I mean you no harm!" she said more kindly, lowering her hackles. She felt angry at herself for overreacting, this varg was a loner, most likely, and probably just wanted to entertain himself. A bitter taste filled her mouth, and she lay back down onto the ground, saddened.
Lykos stopped doing his disappearing act as he heard the fae snarl and growl in anger. He watched her in the trees, and being all black he blended in to the darkness that the night created. As the fae calmed down and asked for him to come out he decided to come out and introduce himself. Lykos slowly and silently walked out of the trees like a shadow with his piercing green eyes staring at the fae, Lykos wasn't afraid of this fae so he didn't care if he upset her by looking her in the eye. As he got closer he noticed that this fae was young, she looked less then a year old where Lykos was about a year and a half.
"Hello there young fae my name is Lykos and who are you."said Lykos in a deep voice. Lykos stopped a foot away from the fae wondering if this fae would start a fight and what would happen when she did. Lykos knew he could take this varg with no problem but he has never fought a fae before and he has never killed another wolf. Lykos was ready to fight if he needed to but this fae looked friendly though.
Selene continued to look around the clearing with her gleaming golden eyes, wishing now that she hadn't lost her temper so quickly at the game this male had been playing. In truth, she was frightened of the male. The bitter memories of her past kept swarming over her, making her unsure whether she could trust another varg again. I might of scared him off with my anger, she joked humourlessly in her mind. Suddenly, she noticed that the male had reappeared quietly from the shadows, and was coming towards her. Their gazes locked, and Selene felt a shiver rush down the length of her spine, though she kept her eyes blank and emotionless.
Selene just laid there as the male stopped just a foot away from her, and introduced himself as Lykos. She looked over him, and realised for the first time that he was about half a year older than herself. A smile etched itself onto her maw, and she bowed her head for a moment in respect, before replying, " Greetings, Lykos. My name is Selene. Please accept my apology for losing my temper earlier, I sometimes overreact." she gave a small, clear laugh that was like music to the ear. Still smiling, she raised herself onto her paws and gazed at Lykos silently.
Lykos noticed her smile as once he got closer and thought about asking her why she was smiling but dismissed the idea. Lykos kept staring into the fae's eyes even after she bowed her head. The fae spoke 'Selene' that's a nice name Lykos thought. "Hello Selene no need to apologize" said Lykos with hiss deep voice "If one of us should apologize it is me, I like to play that disappearing act when I'm bored."
Lykos had an impressive build and was very strong, he was bigger then most varg which slowed him down a little which was why he was more strength then speed. Selene was slender and sleek which most likely means shes a fast runner and by here angry reaction from when he was playing around that she was probably a fierce fighter.
