((This thread is for Bane however any and all Balkar can reply to it as well. Enjoy the fresh meat.))
Everything about it was wrong. Her good natured personality, her eagerness to find him, her rare bi hued optics, and even her well kept cream hued pelt. All of it was horribly misplaced, disasterously in contrast with the encompassing atmosphere. The musky odor of mascus invaded the trotting fae's nares, making her pelt bristle in uneasiness. Passing through the borders into the claimed Balkan lands left little else to ponder about. Focusing directly on her task, Cairo kept her auds pricked upright to catch the sounds of the night hunters. She tried to carry herself with confidence although her current mission was not a pleasant one.
A lone raven spat out a rough melody as if trying to forewarn the solitary Deor fae of the troubles of this terra. Her pawpads made little noise upon the ground as her wide eyes searched for movement in the darkness. Never before had she been within the borders of the Balkar yet she remained unafraid. She wasn't one to easily become spooked or hold on to any unnecessary fears of places or packs. It was apparent however that the Balkar deserved their reputation judging from their territory. Feeling courageous, Cairo still felt a slight tightness grip her stomach at the idea of being overcome by too many of these feared mascus.
Perhaps her purpose for being there brought upon such an uneasiness that may not have been present otherwise. Shuddering slightly at the recollection of what had occurred and why she was here, Cai felt a new determination. It was a risky situation in which she placed herself as well as probably her pack. This was something she had too do for herself and if anything happened to her she prayed to Tor that Chalos would not get Deor involved in a war. It just wasn't worth it, not over her.
Quite a bit from the border, Cairo was unsure if she should howl, marking her presence or wait until one of the Balkan members came to her. They would most likely be present shortly with how tight they kept their perimeters. It would probably be best to wait, considering a howl could alert the entire pack to her arrival. This somehow didn't seem as if it would be the best idea. Swallowing hard she firmly placed her haunches on the ground, waiting for the arrival of a pack member.
The scent of Deor was heavy on her pelt especially because she had come directly from her home lands. If that didn't catch the attention of at least one of these vargs than nothing would. It was a known fact that they held a certain disdain for her dragga and therefore her entire pack. Now, Cairo began to rethink her decison to seek out a Balkan mascu. Although it was a little too late, for in the distance she could make out a form approaching her.

//Sorry, just saw this post, m'dear, and sorry if it's a bit crappy. I think it would make the most sense that this thread took place when the Balkar just left for the war, no? Since Bane won’t be joining them.//
It had been a fortnight since the mann had made this dead forest his “home”, if one could even call it that. A thick presence of death hung in the air, reeking throughout these lands unknown to most. For these lands, this territory, was known to be home to the second most feared of all varg- the Balkar. Bane’s features flickered upward, his dream had finally become true. Ever since he was a cub, ever since the murder of his own mother, Bane had only dreamed of the moment when he could walk freely amongst the Balkans. It was, the most pleasant experience he had felt in a long time. Well, perhaps not that long, Bane thought savagely to himself.
His muscles rippled under his ivory coat with every step, bane made his way to the boundaries. He dare not stay in these lands too long, for fear of their scent rubbing off on him. After all, that wouldn’t be good, considering he had a job to do. No now though, the Balkans were taking care of that, for they had left the other night, their sights set upon the pack of Ge-Rad. Bane knew that pack only too well, for his brother rested in the pack, and it was the pack that Bane had taken up the term “squatter” in. His job, to spy upon the pack, the pack that had been hated for so long.
Now, Bane was helping patrol the boarders, making sure no varg leaked into it’s confinements. He had help, of course- or at least that’s what Bane had been told. But Bane was more than pleased to do it, the further out he was, the thinner the Balkan scent. But now, another scent had punctured the air, one sort of familiar, he knew it. Icy orbs flickered, never had he had one of his victims seek him out- he had always done that himself. Bane’s gin widened as the sight of a distant figure approached, the figure of a fae. But not just any fae, the crème-hued bicolor-eyed fae, known as Cairo. \
“Well well well, Cairo,” Bane purred, as he slowly begun to circle the fae, inhaling her scent. “Come back for more, have we? I must have left quite an impression.” There was no simpathy in the depths of his ice cold eyes, no sign that he was sorry for what he did.

((Sure, it can take place during the battle.))
She was lucky or as lucky as one could get in these damned lands of the Balkan mascus. The one she sought out had been the first to approach her, making the prospect of meeting other members more slim. Cairo's reaction was a mixture of emotions that ranged from relief at seeing it was only Bane as well as pure outright rage at his utter lack of sympathy. Then again she knew she should have expected such a void of emotion from a varg who now belonged to the ranks of the night hunters.
As Bane circled, her hackles rose in anger yet her heart burned in pain at the recollection of the night they had spent together. Cai's own response caught her by suprise, having anticipated a much less aggressive retaliation.
In one quick movement, her ivory teeth were exposed in a snarl, auds swivelled back, as she lashed out at the sociopath. Coming within inches of his shoulder, Cairo pulled herself back, staring into his cold icy orbs with malice. "That's all you have to say to me Bane?" Every part of her body felt tense as she finally spoke to him. It had been two weeks since she had met him, allowed him to be closer to her than any other mascu had. Something about Bane allowed Cai to trust him, fall for him, all within the span of a day. It wasn't characteristic of her at all. Let's see what his poison laced tongue could spin to calm the cream guard of Deor, if anything.
The adrenaline pumping through her body was something she had never felt before in all her life. Never before had she tried to fight or instigate a physical battle. Yet now everything was different so it did not matter what was at stake. No matter how deranged, few would dare kill one of their own species especially a fae. Although out of all the varg in Transylvania, the Balkar were probably not the ones to test such a theory on.

Bane’s expression was one of amusement now, as he watched the crème hued varg lash out at him, her hackles erect and lips curled. She snarled at him, as tiny drops of saliva disappeared in the air in front of her. Her bicolor eyes were filled with anger- not that he could say he wasn’t expecting it. But it wasn’t just a hate kind of anger- but a hurt kind of anger. Ah, the emotion- it was raw within her, controlling her, altering her way of thinking. It tended to do that to faes.
Bane stopped his circling, his icy gaze laid upon her form. “Oooh, not very nice, are we?” Bane retorted smartly with a toothy smirk, as Cairo lashed out at him. He had no purpose to hide who he truly was, he had no purpose to alter his personality to her likings. She knew what kind of varg he was, or she wouldn’t have gone looking in the Balkar. That was, if she was truly looking for him in the first place- but Bane’s might ego didn’t let him doubt that she was.
Despite the potential danger surging through the air, Bane was totally relaxed. He feared nothing in Cairo, he didn’t give a second thought that she could potentially try to kill him. Not to mention, if she even tried- Bane doubted she could even match his strength. Her bites would be nothing but nips- she was a fae, and everyone knew that faes were weaker than masculines.
“Me, you want me to say something to you?” Bane laughed, his pitch sharper than a glass vase breaking into a thousand pieces. “You came to seek me out, not the other way around. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that usually the way it works?” Bane snorted, his odd ivory brow furrowing. Sure, he could say something to her, he could say several things to her. But it’s what she wanted to hear, that was more important to him. An explanation, maybe? Probably. “If I wanted to say something to you, I think I would have done so already.”
//sorry it’s so late, I’m really looking forward to this thread, and all the drama! XD Nice posting with you again, too ^^//

Each flick of his tongue was laced with a subtle poison that would take due time to kill the inflicted. No ties were to be kept betwixt himself and any other or so it would seem to Cairo. A selfish pig disguised within the handsome pelt of a varg whose charm could coax a spider from its fluid meal. His display was completely heart wrenching yet at the same time a much needed dose of reality. Trying to keep herself calm, Cairo swallowed her thoughts while licking her maw. Her initial outburst of emotion was not what she had intended so she forced herself to tap into her more relaxed natural state that never seemed to have an enemy.
The change of her demeanor was probably quite apparent to the ever observant Bane yet she cared little of his opinion of the sudden switch in her behavior. Perhaps most obvious was the more clear sharp and determined look that must have washed over her beauitful cream face and bi hued optics. With a swish of her tail she came to terms with the situation as well as readied herself to reply to the demon before her.
"I suppose I have gotten a little nasty since I've met you. Quite a change from my ususal self. After this little rendevouz I expect to be back to my former state again." Talking quite nonchalantly, Cai fought her emotions into submission as she continued. "I guess you already said what you had wanted to. I must admit though... I've had better." Raising a brow she tried to crush the monstrous ego that laid so heavily upon Bane's shoulders. Her new plan suprised her almost as much as her first snarl at him only minutes before. "Since you're interested in me seeking you out, your invitation for another round insinuates you thought otherwise of me."
Images of Dak appeared in her mind as she lied to the Balkan bad ass about her true feelings as well as her non existent other 'partners.' Hopefully this wouldn't backfire on her but now she had to finish what she'd started. Only then would she be able to return to the safety and comfort of Deor and Dakota.
Sitting still Cairo focused on Bane trying to read his reactions to what she was now saying to him. The anticipation of his response sent her heart into a frenzy as she prayed to Tor that he hadn't picked up on any of her new formed lies.

//I appologize in advance for anything Bane says. //
To Bane’s previous comment, the once hurt, anger filled fae calmed herself, regaining control of her thoughts as if to think them over more carefully than her previous bellows of furry. It almost seemed that she had tapped into a kind of meditation, something that Bane didn‘t possess. . “Ah, so I did have an effect on you,” Bane growled, a wicked smile creeping upon his maw. She was trying to hide her emotions, he thought, but the rage was still there. It still sparked when she was trying to smother it, but feed the fire more, the larger and more uncontrolled it would grow. “Not that I expected anything less…” Bane growled with pleasure, knowing that every time her bicolor oculars would set sight on him, the fire within would spark.
As soon as it appeared, his awful smirk had dropped, his oculars narrowed with displeasure. With bicolor auds folded against his striped cranium, it was indeed apparent that his ego had deflated, at least a little. Insulted by a fae, the lowest form of insults he could have received. “Maybe it’s because you’re not my type,” was all Bane could respond, then realizing with a shocked expression what he had just muttered. First his brother, now Cairo? His secrets, one of his dearest secrets had leaked, and it was only that secret Bane had a habit of exposing. Quickly tearing his gaze from the stern featured fae, Bane secretly prayed that she didn’t pick up, on what exactly he meant. How could he make this better, without insulting himself in the process? He couldn’t, not really. The only thing that was left to do was continue, as if nothing ever happened. Besides, he had a new line to play off of, anyways.
“Really? So you’re not the young naive lustful careless bitch I first thought you were? Forget the naive, it seems you've had plenty of experience. In that case, it just makes you a lustful careless bitch. And when I say "bitch", I mean a leash-licking faemme dog. But Careless, you wonder? Careless, in meaning you’ve been in this same situation before, but still were led to believe that after one night of courtship the man you were with was bound to stay with you forever?! Honestly, you don’t find that a bit suspicious? Or do you just find please in a one night stand and plan to leave him before he wakes, but get angry and demand an explanation when you wake up to find him gone first, because it‘s considered “wrong”? Is that how it works? You make yourself available whenever you get an urge?!” It was a low blow, and Bane knew it. He had regained his own poise, puffing out his chest a little to make her feel smaller than him.

The shield of bravery and lies was shattering as fast as Cairo had managed to raise it. Bane's words were like daggers to her auds and then her heart as his filthy tongue spat each syllable like a twisted tale of his own triumph. So many things were rushing through her mind that she was unsure which she should address and which she should simply let settle into the ruins of her memory.
Swallowing hard, Cairo's beautiful optics grew slightly wider with the realization that the truth was all she had. Slowly her tail drooped into defeat yet she kept her auds as well as stance marked with pride. "Okay fine. I lied. I... I was a naive fae who let a one day event end in something I've never done before." Speaking quickly the words seemed to easily come and leave her maw. Oddly she felt a whole lot better with being who she honestly was rather than lying even if it was only to Bane.
Raising her tail again she approached the devil whom she had fallen for so foolishly. It was with her next sentence that her optics seemed to sparkle with the most pure sentiment ever imaginable. No matter what his reaction this was something she was willing to handle on her own. Cairo knew that the loving family she found in Deor would help her through everything. "Well, you've seen my anger through my actions, my sadness through my lies, and my courage through my truths. Now you get to see my strength in raising our cubs on my own."
Smiling at the thought of having her own pups, Cai realized how scary it was especially without having a legitamate father. Although young she was willing to step forward and live with her bad judgment. These pups would be the world to her.
Standing completely still, gazing at the Balkan mascu before her, the cream fae prayed to Tor that he wouldn't go mad. For nothing could save her if he decided to attack, to end the family he had so carelessly started. Braced for anything she waited.

Curled lips sagged as the beautiful crème fea’s tail fell in defeat, along with her matching cranium. Her words were spoken in soft vocals, ashamed even. It was a sight of triumph for any true Dragga, for an opponent to admit defeat. But instead, this man didn’t feel proud, nor triumph. Instead, he felt angered, irritated. True, this piebald monster fed off of other’s discomfort and misfortune, but it seemed like the fire was out all too quickly. After all, things were just starting to get going, Bane enjoyed a rather irrational argument, no matter where the blame was spilt. “So that’s it?” Bane spat, rather irritated. He could care less that she initially lied, but admitting it? Weak behavior, in his view. A sign of a sikla. “You just, admit defeat? Lay down and show your belly? Or did I hurt your feelings?” He growled maliciously , his hackles prickling with this soft discomfort. “Feeling! That’s all that seems to run through your mind, you faes; you’re all alike! Your pathetic feelings run your minds, your actions; and when things get tough, you admit defeat or foolishly get caught in something only to get yourself killed!” The Balkar bellowed, voice raising with ever word issued through lips of lies. Now, he didn’t care what came out, it didn’t matter. He didn’t need to hide anything.
“Faes, every one of you, you’re the weakest link in our society! Some can’t see it, but I sure as hell can. I see the twisted web you weave, I can see the stings on the puppets! You let your feeling get in the way, and you run your pack into the ground. You make the male species weak, tug on their “heart strings” in any way you want, in just the right way to take them down with you!” Ice blue eyes bore into the fae’s optics, they were as cold as ever, and Bane did nothing to hide this. He wanted to show her that he wasn’t weak, that he held the remote to his own body, and not anything or anybody else. “Don’t you see? You’re an infectious breed who’s only purpose is to bare the young that supplies the balance of nature, that populates the growing putnar! That is why I left you that morning, I’m not looking for a felling-filled fae to spend the rest of my life with, I was looking for a ride!” Bane finished, satisfied with himself as he slowly returned to his relaxed state. But looking at that once perfectly sweet and happy fae, he had to make sure. “That’s what you wanted to hear, right? The reason why I left you?” It was an odd sentence to come from the mann, but he had his own reasons. For some reason, he suspected that wasn’t the only thing on the fae’s mind, or was it? To travel this far, to want such an answer? After all, faes had their strange ways, and had to justify their egos sometimes.
