Soft ivory paws crossed the familiar terrain as a ghostly figure moved through the trees, still shadowed in the coming darkness tanned ears relaxed and forward listening to the sounds around itself, the season of spring was filled with storms and beautiful days but now was the time of spring shifting into summer thus the storms were more frequent and vicious and some days could be so hot that no creature would dare venture far from the cooling pools of the river and the pool below the waterfall, today had been cooler then most days with a pleasant breeze blowing and disrupting the tree leaves a nice day to wander and expand ones knowledge of the world around them. This ghostly she-varg which moved with a hint of determination, was doing just that Jonas had joined the Deor pack and had taken the rank of the packs healer she had some knowledge of this field but the more time she spent within the pack boarders the more she came to learn. She never moved out of the boarders unless she needed to, but that was rare for the young light colored fae things had been very different since she had grown into her adult coat, for one thing she only knew one of the pack members she wanted nothing more then to meet them all and get to know them, this would help with her duties, also it seemed so long ago that she'd last spotted her dear friends and Ryu.
Shaking her head lightly she continued to weave through the trees like a thin piece of velvet sewing its way through the forest but leaving no trace of its presence. Jonas' light blue eyes began to catch the last bits of sunlight casting an eerie glow, though vargs were used to this since every last one of them casted this glow when the light hit them just right, Jonas wagged her tail lightly as she came to the clearing in the packlands from here she would make her way to the dens and curl up in hers. Though it was still only sunset not even dusk had set and so Jonas wasn't even close to tired, her mind began to ask its usual question who would she meet tonight? and would this be a new adventure for the young healer? of course the answer was clear, only time would tell.

((OOC: I hope you don't mind, but this thread seemed a little bit lonely.))
The day was pleasent. Quite different than those previous to it, when it was either too hot or too stormy to really do much work. But then again, running in the rain was something of a pleasure to the Deorian scout who now picked her way over the land. Her muscles bunched and stretched and released, carrying the ghostly pale silver body through the lands as she, once again, patroled the borders for intruders. Such was the work and life of a scout, every to carry missives, always to patrol the borders. However the courrent duty seemed to suit the silver fae, for a look of unmasked delight was in her face as her deep blue eyes sparkled as they read the path ahead, and her pink tongue lolling out from her muzzle, her lips tipped in a smile. For all the world she could have been a foolish pet dog, but for the natural wildness that bestowed itself in her every movement. No dog had the stamina or speed that this fae possessed.
A part within the fae's mind was hoping that she might run into another of her beloved pack. A large part of her wished for a private meeting with her dearest friend and Drappa, Mist. To talk to her like they had when Silve had led the then beta out onto the ice of a frozen lake, to the base of a frozen waterfall. To her it was almost a dream by now, but the friendship that had been forged was one that would be most difficult to break. Never forgotten. It was in the middle of these thoughts that a scent broke the remiscence that Silve had been in. Deorian, for sure, though one that was not familiar to her. In her mind the fae went through all the names and faces of Deor and compared their scents to this one. Not Ryu, not Mist. Nor was is Chalos or Starling. Not Koiji, and most definitely not Dak, though it was still not certain if he were part of the pack again. Silently the scout followed the trail. Finally she was rewarded with the sight of her quarry, and now she stood still apart from it. Watchful. At long last she called out, "Hello, friend, and fellow Deorian. I do not beleive we have yet met. I am Silve, scout and friend of our Drappa. Who might you be?"

Jonas was almost in an absent minded state, going over a newly found talent of consoling those in a distressed mind set like dear friend Calli who had returned home but faced no greeting and was deeply troubled by it. Upon speaking with the older fae, the young healer learned to ease the pain of mind and held a small liking for this, seeing her friend and pack family happy and in stable mind was rewarding to her. Though as she continued her walk a scent caught her nose and she slowed her pace, eventually halting and glancing around, Jonas had only met a few of the Deorian vargs and this fae did not match any of the scents she had come to know. Though the only thing for sure was that this scent was not a danger to her or the pack, thinking hard of who this might be the voice broke her thoughts and answered her questions, turning the fae came face to face with another, somewhat older fae Silve was her name and she was a scout to the pack. Jonas bowed her head and spoke in a soft almost hushed tone, one that seemed to say she was relaxed and un-nerved by this varg or anything surrounding them "It is an honor to meet you Silve, I am Jonas pack healer and a friend to the son of Mist as well as her adopted daughter" Jonas sat on elegant hind legs, it was strange how she'd grown from a oddly marked red and tanned whelp to this, elegant, beautiful she-varg, it was hard for Jonas to recognize herself sometimes and took a gentle reminder from a small voice in her head to say that she'd just grown into her adult body and was always going to look this way now, well until she was older, coming out of this train of thoughts her soft voice carried over the wind again "If you do not mind me asking, but what brings you about at this time Silve? Have your duties called you as well?" she tilted her head slightly when asking which showed that she held a small bit of childhood in her, this body of hers was just the shell to an over active, happy young fae that she was. Jonas was still under a year of age, though coming very close to that day when she would leave whelphood behind and move onto becoming an adult fully. ((I don't mind at all ^^))

The other Varg was, Silve was happy to admit beautiful, and Silve more than most others was captivated by the beauty of what was natural. "The healer of the pack!" Silve exclaimed shortly. The two-year-old silver Varg knew that this was indeed a lucky meeting. She smiled her most kind smile and dipped her head low with respect for the fae. "It is very nice to meet you then, Jonas." A question was burning in her throat, and yet the fae held back on it, wondering if it would be appropriate to ask now or to wait until later. Often the pack healer was the most trusted of all the pack members, but Silve thought that they deserved a large amount of respect.
Silver ears twitched in response to the question the healer had asked and once more Silve had to grin, for her duty was one that she felt was the most enjoyable to carry out. "I don't mind you asking at all, my friend." Silve answered warmly. "As a matter of fact, it is my duties that carried me here. I was just finishing up one of my patrols of the territory. Simply making sure the pack is safe from intruders." But from her posture and swiftly wagging tail it was easy to here the unsaid words. That every second of the running was more enjoyable than the last, and that the scout would be filled with bliss at the prospect of running again. "Might I ask what you are doing, all alone on this pleasant day?"

The year old wagged her tail lightly as the silver fae greeted her with such emotion it wasn't often anyone was happy to see her, let alone a stranger but yet packmate. This fae in front of her was in fact the packs scout, a most important member among the ranks for if there were any danger it was her job to alert everyone and in turn put her life on the line just to protect the pack. It was odd to see such respect coming from the older fae toward her, Jonas knew that being a healer was an important job within pack structure but was it cause for such respect? shaking the question away she smiled lightly perking ears forward as a slight breeze ruffled her fur Silve had answered her question, and Jonas took note of the fact that she really enjoyed her duties as pack scout, though any excuse to run along the borderline was a good one. "I see, your duties are greatly appreciated among us, you are the one who keeps us safe" now it was Jonas' turn to be questioned and she didn't mind in the least to answer, it wasn't a hard question nor one she would have an issue answering "Just out and about, I was about to gather some more supplies for my duties but it required me to leave the pack land and so I just went for a little walk instead" the small smile never leaving the young fae's face for she was delighted to be speaking with another varg after so long without it. This was a great chance for her to build bonds within the pack, meeting and speaking with those she considered a family now and of course the ones she would have to heal if needed, getting to know them was first priority for a pack varg...why hadn't she thought of this before? again she shook the question off and pawed the ground lightly.

The silver fae took the healer's comment for a compliment quite automatically, and she grinned. "Only one of many, my friend. The other scouts help me in my duties, as one Varg finds it impossible to patrol borders on opposite sides of the territory, if I do say so myself. The pack is one cooperative group, and our safety does not depend solely on one or the other." It felt so natural to be in friendly company once more, since she had only recently returned to the lands of Deor after meeting with someone very dear to her. That someone's scent was still faint upon her fur, and she almost imagined him there with her, but she shook herself and almost laughed at her own sillyness.
Silve nodded her head understandingly. "It seems that we are both out here today, partly in account of our duties, and partly for our own enjoyment." Coincidenses like these had a tendency to amuse her, and her blue eyes glittered with the amusement for this one. She was quite cheerful by nature, and it never failed to escape the notice of strangers. "Would you suffer the company of a packmate on your walk, by chance?" she asked politely.

The silver hued fae smiled as Silve spoke to her, tail wagging lightly as she took in every word a young she-varg she was and very attentive to what others may or are saying to her. The thought of continuing her walk seemed to slip far from her mind as she went to answer Silve's words "Yes, a strange coincidence it seems but then again the summer is a peaceful time and many seem to be wandering about these days" she smiled. The sun warmed the fae's fur gently she noticed the time had changed and the birds were singing songs of dusk time, though the sun was still up and burning the skies in orange, violet, and reds she nodded lightly as Silve asked to join young Jonas on her walk "I'd be honored to have a pack friend join me for the remainder of this walk" she smiled wagging her tail "It seems the night will be very comfortable and seems to be asking....no daring one to venture through it" she looked once more at the skies, her light blue eyes reflecting the clouds rolling over head, as her mind reflected thoughts of a Deorian warrior who'd not been seen in such a long time she almost had forgotten his voice and scent "It'll help ease my mind, having company of another" she nodded slightly turning towards the dens which were still a while off in the distance of the pack boarders where the two stood. ((sorry for the cruddyness Silve!))

The words of the younger wolf seemed very wise in the ears of the silver scout. She nodded pleasantly. "Yes, I must agree. Summer days like these are always quick to bring me from my den. Interesting how even the weather can stir us in such ways." She smiled kindly, and then stretched. She walked with the same determined and graceful movements as when she was running, and as the two began making their way back to the dens to shelter for a time, Silve's mind started to think, and her heart was prodding her to ask the question.
At last, when she couldn't hold it much longer, Silve decided to inquire about this thing that the younger Deorian might know more about than she. "May I ask a question, Jonas? Well, one other than the one I just did." Her short laugh was somewhat nervous. "I would like to know what can make a scar linger as though it is new, when it is indeed moons old." She gestured at her right shoulder. "This one here was from an injury from early last winter, but it was slow to heal, and, when at last it did, the scar refused to even begin to fade. It hurts sometimes too, but I don't understand why." She had said a little more than she had intended, but it was quite typical for a packmate to trust the healer so completely.

The grey fae listened as Silve spoke to her, then asked a question which summoned up all her knowledge of being the Deorian healer and so as they walked it was silent for a few breaths, she had to think on that to be honest it could be a number of things and she would have to explain her findings to Silve "Well, it could be that the wound was originally deep and with the amount of time it took to heal it could remain for a very long time, possibly forever" she looked over Silve once before continuing with her answer "Or there was an infection during the healing process and it made the scar not only linger and take longer to close over but also could be the cause of the pain it still may cause" she really needed more knowledge on some subjects of her duty but this wasn't one of them "Though I'm not sure which situation belongs to you Silve, for I wasn't there to assess the wound before it closed...granted I was still just a whelp learning what plants healed and which hurt" she smiled turning her tanned maw to the other fae, it was the best and only answer she really could give her, and she prayed it was good enough to satisfy the other fae. The sun continued its decent into the mountains behind the two when an thought reached the fae "What are you making of this drought in Deor?" she lowered her head slight it was hard on some vargs, especially those with darker coats or dark markings on their backs for they attracted the most heat. Jonas had nothing to worry about really, being a pale grey and charcoal etched along her back but that charcoal marking is what drew most heat towards her and caused her to breath heavily at times. "I can't imagine it healthy for most of the pack....I fear that the grass may dry out as a result so we couldn't even chew it..." she sighed lightly, her worries had been voiced but perhaps to the wrong varg but it seemed to effect all Deor so why not speak to another Deorian about it?

Silve nodded. The knowledge of the pack healer was enough to comfort her slightly. There was another questions that was more important to her for the answer. Honesty with the pack healer was the only way that an injury could be healed. And for that Silve needed to confess what she had feared to say for quite some time. "If I may say how this came about," she suggested softly, while her head was held rather lower than it usually would be. "It was early winter, and I was on my way back here, back home. I was accompanied by a dear friend, and together we decided to traverse the mountains together. Then we found something rather...Unexpected." Silve saw clear in her mind the desolate clearing that had been destroyed by a fiercesome, fearless beast. "I lost my family long ago, and thought them to be dead, so the re-emergence of my brother Raknar was a great surprise. My friend left us to be reunited in privacy, and Raknar attacked me. I was very lucky to leave with my life." Silve looked to gage Jonas's reaction. "My father once told me that scars that were given in times of such high emotions are slow to heal, and I was wondering if you thought that could be true."
Silve's dry throat seemed to throb with the mere mention of the drought. "A terrible thing it is, this drought. But the pack will survive, we are a strong bunch." Silve smiled encouragingly. "There are several places with a good water supply outside our territory, and in a time of drought we could gather some water in dried moss so even the youngest cub will not go thirsty in this time." It was only something she'd heard rumor of happening in times of drought, but it sounded reasonable.

The healer nodded as they continued on their walk no destination in mind at the moment, Silve told Jonas her story of how she came to get the scar and what her father had told her. Nodding slightly the younger fae went into thought over this matter, finally nodding once more she looked at Silve "You're father could be right, sometimes healing is also a mental issue and possibly an emotional issue as well seeing as the wound was inflicted by your own brother" Jonas couldn't imaging ever being attacked by one of her brothers, Kevin,Joseph and Nicholas were the kindest brothers she'd could of asked for and they accepted her when her own father hadn't. Tail flicking lightly she looked away, the sun was losing grip the heat was giving into the coolness of the night but that still would not help the vargs within Deor boarders with the drought, remembering that man had special devices that carried water she wondered if she could possibly get her mitts on one but shook her head away from the thought, entering the village was wrong and to steal from man was worse she could end up getting hurt or worse killed and her pelt worn by those creatures. Then where would Ryu be? his best friend killed off by some human while she was trying to provide water to the pack that accepted her and appointed her as their healer. She continued on without saying a word until something struck her "On the topic of your scar, I must go back to when I was still with my brothers Nicholas told me that sometimes we heal as fast as we wish to do so, and to this day I believe that so you may be holding onto the scar which in turn keeps it upon you and thus why you experience pain....not because it's a wound but because of the one who inflicted it on you" she looked over at Silve a small smile on her tan and ivory maw, she watched many heal over time and knew that statement to be somewhat true. Silve had said about bringing water in moss, and that was true she could do that to ensure that none of the pack go thirsty she'd dig a small hole in her den and then start bringing over water from the lake to place in it, not only would it help those who didn't want to travel or couldn't travel that far but it would assist in cleansing the wounds of those needing her talent, yes Silve had a good point, later tonight she'd start this little project

Silve listened to the healer very carefully. For once, she was completely silent, pondering. She found it a very plausible idea that her scar was something that a part of her held onto. She smiled sheepishly. "Is it wrong of me to hold onto it, Jonas? My brother and I were so very close as cubs, and now he want's nothing so much as my death. I feel so helpless, knowing that he blames me for what happened to our parents." She stopped short. It had been a very long time since she had spoken of this to anyone. The roaring of the bear was still as fresh in her mind as it was the day the fog in her mind was cleared and she remembered why she'd awoken on a riverbank, alone. She had been two years at that point, and this next spring would be her third.
"May I tell you something, Jonas? It is something very secret, and I understand if you do not want to know." The healer of the pack worked with every pack member, and in a pack such as Deor, any secret would be hard to keep for long. Silve did not wish to lay anything too heavy on Jonas's shoulders.
