The chocolate and tan fae ran through the pounding rain trying with all her heart to return home to the dens. It had been raining hard all day and she had been stuck in a cave far away from home. Mayta had not intended to get stuck so far from home, but she was on the hunt for some food to bring back to her pack and had gotten side tracked as usual. Speed was on her side and it hadn’t taken her long to get back to Ge-Rad and she was thankful for that. Small rivers had begun to form in the woods and large puddles formed as well at the ends of the makeshift river. Mayta began to hurtle fallen trees, dodging left and right through the trees, the only thing on her mind was returning home and getting out of the rain, not watching where she placed each paw.
The closer she came to the dens, the more she pushed herself and the faster she ran. She heard a loud thud from behind her, and she turned to look not paying attention as she ran. She saw nothing behind her but as she turned to look where she was going she tripped over a fallen tree, and tumbled down the muddy wooded terrain until she collided with a thick oak tree. She cried out in pain, a howl that seemed to ripple the puddles that collected around her. Opening her emerald speckled hues tears began to flow down her muzzle and her head began to spin. Mayta began to whine and whimper, something was wrong, but she was so discombobulated that she didn’t know what. Pain shot through her entire body, it was so intense that soon she succumbed to unconsciousness.
She could only hope that someone had heard her cry of pain, someone that would help her, someone that knew how to help her. The bare trees offered no protection from the pouring rain, soon the muddy fae was soak and wet and her impact in the ground had caused it to give way just enough so that the water began to collect around her. If someone did not find her soon, her muzzle would be completely submerged in water and she would be unable to breathe.
