Saphire blue skies shone down upon the lands of Koran, gentle breezes billowing through the forested area in short bursts. Few lera remained here, since winter had come and snow now lay upon the hybernating earth. Yet a few things stirred within this barren place. Black nostrils inhaled a small portion of snow near a stubby bush, taking in the scents of the alpha wolves that would have marked it. Ruddy furred muscles gave a gentle twitch, the males head lifting front the ground to stare out at the entrance to the pack's territory.
A slight hesitation was given, before the brawny mann stepped into the unfamiliar territory. His ivory paws crunched into the clean snow easily, breaking the innocence of the surface in each passing step. His muscles rippled gently beneath his thick auburn coat, amber gold eyes gleaming out at this new place he had come across. With tail high in the air, and once he knew he was far into the pack's territory, the ruddy male stopped, looking around his new home with glee. It would be good to be apart of a pack once more, and not alone. With a lift of his slender muzzle, his lips parted and a howl of baritone vocals errupted from between his curved canines. The sound of it was almost kind of sad in a regal way, calling out to the pack wherever they may be and announcing that a new male was in town and ready to be apart of what they had...
(blah, not the best, I'm sorry...)

With Autumn long since gone, the forest of Transylvania had moved far into Winter. Trees had been stripped of their leaves, some of which still lay plastered to the ground. Melting snow lingered in some areas where the sunlight shone strong enough, though it would soon be hidden again, no doubt, by newly fallen flakes. The winter had not been as harsh as previous years, though it did not come without its hardships. Food was always in shortage during these long, barren months, and Putnar had to rely fully on their honed instincts and just as much on luck. Despite the gray skies and severe winds that had been rolling through the territory, on this day Fenris allowed himself to survey the land, his golden eye shining brightly in the crystalline sky.
Though the sun offered some hope and comfort in the soul of the Lera, it did little to warm the land. Gentle winds sailed through the trees, carrying with them the crisp bite of a morning chill. The small gust ruffled the noir fur of a male wolf, lithe and powerful in build though docile in spirit. He was the Beta of these lands, out for his morning routine to patrol the border and make sure everything was in its rightful place. A small smile graced his slender maw as his senses took in the new morning. It was during these precious hours that he felt most at ease, and most needed, fulfilling his duties to help keep the pack safe while at the same time enjoying the solitude. The surrounding snow offered him a quiet solace, broken only by the crunching of his footfalls as he padded along the border.
The male's ears pricked suddenly, his amber eyes opened wide as he stopped in his tracks. A single howl had pierced the air shattering the silence, though it was no call for alarm. The call came from inside the territory, not far off from where the Beta stood, and it rang of Tratto's Blessing. A curious look passed over the male's face before fading into the resigned expression of obligation. Who could this stranger be, making such a request? It did not take long for his paws to take him to the source of the call, his banner held high in dominion while his maw held a pleasant expression.
"Greetings," his tones were warm and complimented the sunlight. He took a moment to examine the stranger, his amber eyes roving carefully over his ruddy frame. His expression seemed humble enough, and did not betray bad intentions. Still, he had to be wary, for in these hard times treachery was not an impossibility. "I am Kai, Beta of Koran. What has brought you to our lands this fine morning?"
