The moon had just fallen and the sun showed only a quarter of its light. Clouds drifted just aloft the trees and along the forest floor lay a small black varg, weak and left behind. The sun nearly blinded him as he awoke. He stared the sun in the face for as long as he could bear only to roll to the other side, keeping his paws in close to his body for warmth. His entire body hurt, Why did I have to get so noble?! He thought to himself. To fight the Dragga was foolish! Now Brasurr lay a pup abandoned frightened and in pain. Was there no kind soul to lift him from this heartless land?
He struggled to his feet and tried fruitlessly to walk. He meerely landed on his side again triggering pain in his entire body by falling on a severely bruised rib. All around him life skittered by, small animals he could've been eating if it hadn't been for his arogance. He stood again resting his weight on his right paw so he didn't further injure the left and tried to hobble along. This is better he thought to himself. Maybe he wasn't destined to die after all. He continued on until the sun was high in the sky and fell to the opposite side of his injured rib and rested until the sun fell behind the trees and the moon rose opposite the sun. He got up and began his weary treck until he made his way beyond the woodland and into an open field with tall dying grass and slept another day.
He awoke again to the familiar call of his own kind, only to realize he had made the noise in his mind. This was utterly pathetic, he couldn't even feed himself. It was then he found a small rabbit, very small and injured, maybe in his same prediciment. Brasurr inched forward twards it trying to keep his hobble quiet was tricky at best. He made a fruitless swipe at it and it ran away. He hoped it fell in a lera hole, one much bigger than the little scrap could handle and be killed on the spot! He rolled to his side again, this time he smelled another rabbit. stupid lera's making fun of me now! he thought then he rolled his head to look and saw a freshly killed one laying a few feet from him. It was torn apart, obviously already been eaten by his former Dragga or another Varg. He hobbled over and examined it, there was some meat left but he found when he began to chew that it was tough and stringy, but it was better than nothing so he continued gnawing at it until it was gone, rolled over and fell asleep agian.
