Ottaaayyyy, its the holidays, and most people have favorite songs. this isn't really a debate, but i think it could be a very good topic. Notice the term holidays? this is for people of every religion, race, and species(for our alien and non-human friends.) this is a chance for people to learn other winter songs, so when you go caroling this year, you can sing Kwanzaa songs, or Hanuka, Yule... because i'm sure in a community with several different cultures in one neighborhood, im sure people would love to hear different songs from different cultures. this time of year is a time for people to be open and caring, isn't it? let the musical joy of the season of snow begin! ;p

I felt the need to pop in and grouch. I'm a scrooge and I don't like any holiday songs. At all. They're annoying and it's irritating when they start playing on the radio the very day after Thanksgiving in the US. It's almost maddening when it gets painfully close to Christmas and whatnot and they've been playing playing playing nonstop everywhere you go.

The only song I ever really liked was singing on the Holidays was "Oh Hanukkah" in chorus. It isn't heard every friggin day in the malls/stores (in fact, I don't think I've ever heard it in a store O.o) Other than that- I'm with WB. They just seriously annoy the crap out of me, especially in stores. I'm just glad I can play any radio station at work rather than those unfortunate enough to half to listen to "Jingle Bells" and other various Christmas songs ten times a day

To be different, I love holiday songs. Well, some of them anyway.
Some have definitely been WAY overplayed, (Jingle Bells, Frosty, and Rudolph) but there are still a lot of them that I like.
Among my favorites are some of the hymns like "Silent Night". "O Holy Night".. and I like stuff like "Merry Christmas Darling" and "All I Want for Christmas is You" *is a romantic secretly.. SHH! shifty eyes*
But I duncare what people think of me.. NSYNC Christmas music is still amazing. The harmonies are awesome. And yes, I'mma choir geek. Sue me.
...Has anyone ever wondered about some of these songs? I mean, I can see Frosty.. but what kinda name is Rudolph for a reindeer anyway..? *thinks about wierd stuff like this*
Okay, I've talked too much. *has put her 2 cents in, vanishes back into the background*

The traditional ones, like Jingle Bells, Rudolph, etc.. really get on my nerves, though ones like "All Want for Christmas is You", "Blue Christmas", and that one that goes candles burnin' low, lots of mistletoe are all ones that I really like.
Plus I have this album of these 4 guys called The Coats (acappella group) singing Christmas songs. They make them ALL sound cool ._.
This time of year generally puts me in a better mood, providing stress and loneliness are disregarded xD

I like a lot of Country Christmas songs, (either originals or remakes) probably because its what I grew up to, but I still love hearing them. From the tearjerkers like “Christmas shoes” and “Santa I’m right here” to the more humorous, of which I can’t remember any names right now. But one is about eating sugar cookies, and I really like it.
And since I’m a Christian, I prefer the songs that go along with the religious part of Christmas. (I haven’t celebrated the ceremonial part for a few years now.) Such as, “Silent Night”, “O Holy Night”, “Little Drummer Boy”, “Away in a Manger”, and other various songs.
yup, that’s my two cents.

..That's all I have to say about that.

I do believe that Rudolph's name is German, or something like that.

My absolute favorite holiday song is Dominick the Donkey! I love it, it makes me very happy and I dance around like a lunatic when I hear it
