The once powdery snow that had once blanketed the lanscape of the Deor pack lands was now hard, watery; spring was coming and the cold was leaving, for a time. If one were to glance up, they could see the buds of fresh leaves and then flowers and then fruits that would bring an abundance of prey for the Deorians to hunt.
Upon the face of one such Varg was a secret smile. A secret smile that no mann could seem to understand, for a fae had many secrets that only another fae would understand. Bright sunlight filtered through the trees to set a glow on her fur, which was the color of the moonshine, and a spectral self-light that made everything around her seem more alive. An energy of excitement, with an undercurrent of a fierce and powerful passion, seemed to follow her as long limbs that were toned from swift running pulled her at a steady lope over the terra.
A long winter had passed, seemingly in a breathe of space to the fae, and now she was being treated to a pleasure that she had never hoped to see. Deor in springtime was wonderful, as winter had been when she had finally come among a family with such love as this. Not all of the pack was familiar to her, as she hadn't yet found and met them all. Mist, who at once seemed to be much like a sister, Starling, somewhat strange, but a true friend. She'd spoken to Lucivar once, and also to the storyteller Farrah whom she hadn't even spotted once since. It was her hope to meet more of the pack, and it was more likely to happen in the time that the memory of winter faded.
Lids dropped down over the liquid blue eyes that were scanning the surroundings in typical scout fashion, and she raised her head in a howl that seemed to fill her entire being. It was something of a summons. Something to bring a few friends to her, that she could meet them and know them well.
"Come, my friends," it said, "come and be known to me, for all in the world need friendship."

Wolfbane has finally begun to relinquish his hold on Transylvania, and Fenris's gaze has strengthened, bathing his domain in the warmth of spring and the glory of lengthening days. There are still patches of snow where the winds had moved it into deep drifts. All senses are touched by the playful presence of a new Spring. Everywhere the gurgle and laughter of melt-water streams can be heard, while the feel of the warmer air and joyful breeze gently ruffle fur. In the ritual of seasons all venturing animals have started to lose their heavy winter coats, and clumps of white, grey, golden brown, or ebony dot the landscape.
Turning her head back to reach her side Mist scratches a particularly bothersome itch under her fur. The all-too familiar feeling of too heavy fur has been evident for the past few days, coming without warning alongside the thaw. Straightening out she shakes herself, like a wet dog, and sneezes, sending out a flurry of silver and ash-colored hairs, like a miniature snowstorm.
Smiling as she settles down the beta stills herself, simply to look around. There is not much to see yet in the way of Spring time sights, but it won't be long. The swiftly melting snow has left tiny streams of water that flow downhill to meet the rivers and creeks below. The land is rather soggy from all the water, unable to soak it all into the ground in such a short time. Though there is little green to be seen and no flowers yet, there are small buds on the leaf-bearing trees, speaking of full Spring soon to come.
Sighing deeply in contentment Mist nods, thinking of past Springs, and that, though she loves each season for it's own reasons, there is just so much to be thankful for after a long Winter. It is the time of new life and many wonders. It is only a moment after she thinks this that a beckoning howl floats somewhat playfully to her on the breeze. Smiling in turn as she recognizes the howler the fae gets leisurely to her feet and pads toward Silve, black-tipped tail swishing behind her.

Waiting was a little hard to do, when there were other Deor members around the place she could talk to. She could barely recognize the place, she had been here a long while ago. In the distance, there seemed to be a howl, it was hard to tell if it was a varg or the wind. Snow butterfly's fluttered before her own eyes, pretty, but making it hard to see. She had followed what seemed to be a varg earlier, but the heavy weather was keeping her off track. She felt like laying down, remembering in the past she never did this, thinking that the snow would cover her up. She knew Farrah was here, but not at the moment.
There was a slight movement, not far away from her. It was a varg, and when she identified it, she could tell who it was. Mist! She trotted at full speed twords her. SHe stopped running at the last minute so no-one would be showered by snow.
"Mist! Would you still remember me?I've come back!"
Looking around, there seemed to me more than one varg, she took a few steps tword the other varg now. "Hi there, are you knew here? I'm Toka!" She couldn't stop grinning, there were more members now, it really did change. But it was still like coming home to a big family. She would belong to the pack again, how fun. The entire time she was wearing a grin, how many varg would there be when she was older? She wanted to hug everyone in the Deor and Say 'I'm back!' Greet everyone, one by one, till she would know all of their names, and hopefully this time, I won't mess up. She could still be happy as long as everyone had forgiven her for being gone so long, but still, she was back with her friends. This is our house.

The time of great snows and ever lasting cold was now nothing but a memory to the varg’s of Deor. Such was the nature of the seasons, always changing, always a new adventure, yet predictable. With the coming of Fenris’ warmth to drive away the plague known by many as Wolfbane’s winter, came new life. The sentries of oak that protected Deor’s lands began to slowly but surely harbor new life within its branches. The herds were exponentially returning, which meant that balance was once again being restored for the putnar, and wolf and man alike could once again enjoy three seasons of plentiful meat and warm weather that came with the seasons of warmth and splendor. In the golden orbs of a young pup no more then two seasons old, the concept of changing seasons was still a foreign wonder of brilliance. His spirit was pure, void of such adult concepts as hate and worry, and ignorant to pack politics. His life was a simple one, play when possible, is mischievous as a puppy always is, but most importantly, loves his mother, father and siblings, and this he did quite magnificently amongst all other things.
His parents had named the little ivory spirit of Deor, Ryu. He had inherited Chayton’s ivory coat it seamed, for his fur was as white and majestic as the clouds that floated in Fenris’ kingdom, and as soft as his mother’s pelt. He’s been called playful by some, mischievous by his sisters, and often times gotten himself into loads of trouble due to his puppyish curiosity. But nonetheless, Ryu remained a faithful son, Mist and Chayton’s one and only son. On this day, Ryu was on another one of his rambunctious adventures, looking for someone, or something to entertain himself. It was clear from the beginning that Ryu would not make a good Kerl, for like all wolves; he needs the company of others to feel secure. But it could also be his puppyish nature, striving to find a companion to share in a game or a romp. A great change had befallen Deor and had affected all its members, and despite Ryu being too young to understand the gravity and severity of this change, somehow, he could sense that something was amiss.
Ryu’s ivory paws came to a halt, as his auds lifted to pick up the hymn of one of Deor’s members as their song traveled the skies and surfed on the wind of change and prosperity. Activity was on the horizon, embedded clearly in the summoning howl to those who could understand the serenade of wolves. Their proud language would forever remain a mystery to all other lera, and man alike. Being as young as he is, Ryu’s senses still had a ways to go to reach the level of sharpness found in all Deorian’s, and as much as the little ivory pup tried, he couldn’t pinpoint where the summoning howl had come from. By stroke of luck, his golden gaze found his mother passing through the trail. Seeing Mist, Ryu yipped cheerfully in her direction, as ivory paws carried the son to his mother. But as Ryu approached, an unfamiliar wolf approached Mist. The little pup was unsure of this stranger, as caution washed over him, and slowed his pace. “Mom!” Ryu called out to her, oblivious to the conversation the two were having. The ivory pup approached from behind his mother, cautiously, and stood a few paw steps away from both Deorians. He whined yearn fully for his mother, unwilling to approach Toka.

((Thanks the three of you for joining, I was hoping for at least three wolfies to join))
The last echoes of her howl fell all about her, and before they faded a figure materialized from the tree. The familiar silver-grey coat and kind, motherly eyes sent Silve's tail wagging, and she leapt toward her filled with an almost puppyish delight. The greeting she gave Mist was all enthusiastic as she playfully pranced through what open space there was, and then moving forward to rub her shoulder with that of the other.
The somewhat musical, peotic voice of the fae was filled with the energy of life that she could almost taste from all the other things around her. "Mist!" she cried. "How wonderful it is to see you sister!" Those few words bubbled with sweet laughter, laughter born of joy of simply living.
Before more could be said there was another Varg in the clearing, smelling of Deor as well. She bestowed upon this newcomer a swift look over from her silver eyes, and she grinned and dashed over to her as well. "Another packsister!" she called out, and moved to rub her shoulder as well, as though they were long lost friends and not recent aquaintences. "Good day to you Toka, I am--" But it was then that her gaze fell upon the pup that was hanging back.
The hesitance of the young Varg seemed to hang in the air like a shade, and Silve felt immediately compelled to dispel that darker feeling on this glorious day. Slower this time, she left the others and came to his side. "From what Mist has told me of her cubs, I would guess that you are Ryu." A kind smile came upon her muzzle. "I am Silve, and I am glad to meet you." A few encouaging steps toward the others and Silve turned back to him. "Come on, little friend, none in this group wish you ill from what I can see."
((Why Mist, whatever are you talking about? *goes and fixes*))

In the somewhat slow pace of the day things start to happen faster. Three voices speak out in quick succession, and a smile breaks out on Mist's face as she hears each. Her expression changes slightly for every one. For Silve, it is a beaming smile, lighting up the beta's features as she sees her pack-sister who she has come to know well in such a short time. The younger fae could easily be another adopted daughter, but at their meeting at the lake they called each other "sister", and that is how it has been since.
Turning in surprise at hearing her name called out by a familiar but fairly long-absent voice the smile does not fade but is laced with evident surprise and pleasure. "Toka!" When the silvery grey fae first new the younger fae Cagalli was just recently adopted - quite a while ago - making it an even more unexpected but joyous reunion. "You're back!" Though this could be seen as an amusing statement of the obvious it is more an expression of wonder. Already this is shaping up to be a good Spring - and hopefully a good year all together. At the question she wags her tail and laughs lightly - a pleasant, musical sound that seems to emanate from the young earth. "Of course I remember you!"
A higher-pitched yip follows her words, and her name - a different one, but still hers - comes to her sharp ears and she turns again, this time to look behind her. Her smile this time softens and she lowers her head to that of his, silently beckoning to her son. She is rarely seen without him, and he is one of the many joys of her life. He is definitely old enough to be alone in the pack lands, but she truly enjoys his company and his fresh insights into life. It has been a while since she was a cub, so it is fun to once again hear about life from such a perspective.
Ryu's whine comes to her ears and she opens her mouth to verbally beckon him and to tell him there is no need to fear this stranger when Silve speaks up in a soft, sweet tone. Catching her snowy son's eye she nods. "Come, Ryu." She adds softly, confirming Silve's assumption that this is her only son. "It is alright, darling. Silve and Toka are both my friends, and I hope, at least to some degree they might be yours as well." Taking a few steps toward her son to close the gap and make it easier for him to come to her without having to pass for too long under the gaze of strangers - though they are not strange to his mother - she hopes he will find it easier to come to her now with no fear.

All the same, everyone remembered her. At the momment there was a taste for Toka to grin, that was all she really wanted to do. Mother and cub, she hadn't seen a couple like that for too long. Mist was trying to bekon her child over, Toka looked back up at the sky. Her paws sunk into snow-slush on the ground. The sky held smooth clouds, the trees reached up holding their own newborn leaves. It was such a colorful such, beautiful. She could barely tell the difference of the white clouds, as she looked down at the cub's pelt. She stared in delight. It felt a little strange for the cub to fear her, It hadn't happened before really. She gave a welcoming smile. She wasn't the newest one here after all. She was pretty young still, yet a cub, Ryu would most likely grow up to know better than her, having a good mother. It never harmed her not having one, she just was run and consumed by curiosity. Painful, but okay. Mist probably always have this young one with her, even know she hadn't seen them together much. But they were too perfect together already.
"You don't have to answer..."
Her voice trailed off somewhere, she needed to find out what she had been missing from the Deor, she had been gone for a while.
"But, who was this young-mans father?"
She said, then following a little smile. She didn't know many males in the Deor, except Chalos himself. Maybe this mate wasn't in Deor. It was possible. She had never wanted to have a mate after her sick father. She didn't want her own cubs to be growing up alone. But she had a good sense of harmful varg and nice ones, but her Father had seemed nice at first. Alwalys thinking myself out! She thought, Too many questions!. The world did seem like a question itself, or many put together to form something. She really did run by curiosity...

(OOC: I’m really sorry for the late entry, many things came up that stopped me from posting. I also want to apologize for this post, all yours were really good and I know this one is going to be lame. But my next ones will be better I promise.)
Golden optics went from his mother, to the two strangers that the little Deorian had yet to have seen before. Yet all three encouraged the young pup with kind words that settled gently on Ryu’s ears. From the look of the two other faes, they sought no harm and certainly looked friendly enough. But even still, Ryu felt safest around his mother, so it was no surprise to see the cream pup rush to his mother’s side and take safety under her gray limbs. Many have commented that Ryu had inherited his mother’s eyes, and with the two wolves close to each other, it was more clear then ever before just how right they were. “Hi Silve, hi Toka.”Ryu spoke in a friendly, puppyish voice. “It’s nice to meet you.” Taking a page out of Mist’s politeness, he mirrored her mother’s words and mannerisms, by even taking a bow of respect. Being a pup, he knew not what the bow was meant for, but he had seen his mother do it, and thought it best to copy. If anyone knew Ryu, seeing a normally rambunctious and mischievous pup being polite and courteous was certainly out of character for the ivory Deorian. He hoped that his mom would be proud of him on this sun.
(OOC: Again I’m sorry for the lameness, I’m a little out of it. But my next post will be better I promise.)

Somewhat lost for several seconds, aware that all seemed to know each other with the exception of herself, Silve was content to watch the interactions as Ryu finally came among them. Observing each of their actions, reactions and the ways they greeted each other, for though she he had in a way called this little meeting, she would not try to make herself the center of attention in this quartet of Deorian Varg.
After making sure that all were relatively comfortable, the moon toned head turned to gaze at Mist. "How are you, sister?" she asked slowly and softly, but her words carried through to all four. "I seems far too long since we last saw each other, for two of the same pack." She grinned widely, though she spoke in somber tones, for though it was in her nature to be cheerful, it was also there to be somewhat nervous around others of her own kind and such seriousness always seemed to come of it.
The next was Toka, and though she did not know the younger one well, she spoke to her with the same reachings of familiarity as Mist. "I have not met you before, Toka, but since we are now Deorians together I hope desperately that we may learn more of each other." A kind and almost motherly smile adorned the face of the fae at these words. "May I ask why you use the term of "back" and how you know these others?" Silve was, of course, new to Deor, so she couldn't know if it was chance meeting, or if they had all been part of this family as one before. She wondered briefly why, if Toka had been part of Deor, Ryu was so hesitant to approach.
For the last of the group, Silve knew not what to say, for it was easy to see that he was uncomfortable to a degree. Instead she pleaded with her eyes to Mist, that the wise Beta would know how to make him more at ease.

Without turning her golden gaze from Ryu Mist replies to Toka’s question, remembering that Chayton was not in Deor when Toka was here before – that the two mates had not even met. “Ryu’s dad is Chayton. He’s one of Deor’s guards. It keeps him busy, so he’s not around all that much.” Though not much could dampen this beautiful day the ashy-grey beta feels a pang as she thinks of her beloved mate. She has not seen him in quite a while, and since they became mates she has not felt quite complete without him near.
As she speaks she sees Ryu look hesitantly from her to the other two faes, still reluctant to pass by them to reach her. It seems he grows slightly more comfortable with the thought of them for after a few moments he rushes over to his mother, seeking the shelter of her body. Though this shows his shyness, his next actions are quite polite and mature for one his age. Eyes sparkling proudly Mist looks down fondly at her snowy son, her entire stance showing how proud she is of him.
Glancing up at Silve’s words Mist dips her head in reply. “I have been quite well, thank you, Sister. And you? How have you been since I saw you last? Indeed it has been longer than I would have liked, though the memories of that journey are often in my thoughts.” Turning to the other fae she smiles, including her in the conversation and hoping to spark a friendship between the two. “And you, Toka? How is it to be home?"

Toka glanced down at the young pup fondly, Mist had a reason to be proud. She could only hope she were like that while she were young. She nodded a answer. She seemed Delighted, when she had first came here, she had wanted to meet more of cubs her own age. When Mist and Slive spoke, she gave another small smile back to Ryu. Mist HAD done well. What caught her attention was Silve was now speaking to her. After she spoke, Toka thought of a reply.
"We.., I guess-I was here before, and Mist had been one of them to welcome me properly... Just haven't been here for a while."
She drew her own claw down through a small melting bed of Frost, then looked back up at them with a smile. And she was back. Now it was Mist's turn to speak, she waited eagarly, she had been asking, how it was? She really was home, it was wonderful.
"Anything I ever wanted, was to be here..."
She said out loud, wanting her thoughts to be said to the others but to herself again. So she would know that this could not be a dream, not again. It was too real to be good, so easy. She took another look at Ryu who had finished his well-manored bow. She smiled again, wanting to laugh. Was this some sort of memorie in progress? Would she be able to look back and see when she rejoined this place? Pride burned through her, this would be better than any present. Even though she hadn't quite known what a present was. Looking up back at the sky, it remained the same color. But it texture seemed different, weather. Toka could never get her eyes off of it, one thing that she COULD keep track of. [OOC: G2G, Sorry about the wait, and Mist, congratulations for the spotlight winning ]
