Name: Tadao
Age: Around three summers.
Gender: Male
Species: Arctic Wolf
Appearance: His coat is thick and mostly white, customary to his species, and a stripe of a lighter shade of brown runs down his back from shoulder blades to about an inch above his tail. He also has a similar stripe running from his nose up between his eas. His eyes are a deep midnight blue.
Personality: This is a hard wolf to get to know, as he tends to be very gruff and arrogant, prideful, and has a short-fuse temper. But beneath the tough exterior is merely a young adult wolf trying to unravel the mystery of his past, a wise and fearless fighter, and a defender of the weak. He often doesn't think before he does things, which landed him in trouble a lot when he was younger. He also has some wierd respect issues. He wants to be respected, and loathes being talked down to or called young. He believes firmly that one cannot be judged by age nor gender, though he is often hypocritical of himself in his exterior. In general, he is independent and feels that since he has always had nobody, that he /needs/ nobody, and because his parents never came looking for him (or so he thinks) he believes that packs are never truly loyal to one another, and will have to struggle with the idea of joining one for a while.
History:
The pup trotted with his little head held high through the winter wonderland of freshly fallen snow, blending in with his environment save for a little spot or two of brown on his back. He seemed to have a pouting sort of looking on his face mixed with the smug triumph of one who had just succeeded in running away from home. ~This'll teach Ma and Da for sure. Just because I was teasing my brother about the way he runs.. he looks like a girl! After all, I was born first, and I should be able to eat before /him/ anyway. He's a scrawny little runt.. and so whiny. I bet Ma and Da are worried sick by now.. ha, serves them right.~ The pup stopped his train of thought and looked around him as he stopped. "Where am I?" he wondered aloud, but the sound was all but drowned out by the wind.
-------
"Tristan, please!" the feminine voice pleaded, its source a young adult mother, surrounded by three young pups. "We cannot, Nataya. The blizzard is in full force out there, and you are a young mother with three other pups to think about. Besides, and I hate to sound pessimistic, but Tadao is already out there in a blizzard with no food and little fur to keep him warm. I fear that he may already be gone." Tristan was their alpha, his voice grim as he stared silently out into the storm even as he spoke to Nataya. Another voice spoke up, male, tight with a combination of supressed grief and restlessness. "Then let me go, Tristan. After all, it was our reprimand that sent him out into that storm. I feel that he's still there, still alive. He's a smart cub, behind all that pride." Tristan shook his head sadly. "I am truly sorry, Aeolus, but I will not lose you as well as the pup.. and that is exactly what will happen if you go out into that storm. You will lose your way and never find your way back." Aeolus's eyes dimmed, and his head drooped. Tristan put what was meant to be a comforting paw on his shoulder, but Aeolus jerked away, walking to the mouth of the cave where he sat and let out a long, mournful, grief-stricken howl.
----------
The storm had come up quickly, and Tadao had been taken by surprise. For the first time, the pup turned back to the way he had come, running until his strength left him and he could run no more, desperately calling out for his parents. He finally curled up into a ball, trapping his body heat into a coccoon in the snow, falling into a nightmare-filled sleep.
A year and a half later, Tadao had grown up alone. He never stopped searching for his parents, and still lives with the slight hope that he would find them. He comes to the packs a loner.
