–Name: Turpin ________pronunciation // tar . pin //
–Age: (as of registry) Five months . . . approximately 20 weeks - 152 days
–Gender: Male
–Appearance: His fur is a sort of murky brown or topaz which should mature into a gorgeous agouti-color. The eyes are a relatively dark blue, electrified by lightening bits of paler blue and hints of the gold they should eventually grow to. As for size, he is relatively underweight however his build suggests that - as long as he gains the necessary weight and remains healthy - he should be an extremely large and powerful adult.
–History: Turpin was named for his mother’s father and was the alpha cub in the litter of five. Usually the most over-exuberant and eager pup of the lot, Turpin was always first when the meals came and always the first to be bitten for bad behavior. As the saying goes - “Lead by example” - and needless to say, the litter was quite a handful.
In any case, the cubs had just been moved to the rendevous site where young cubs usually live whilst they grow into adulthood - usually these are found near brooks or rivers or any other body of water. Despite his kin’s careful cautiousness around the lake they lived near, Turpin had always been fascinated by the water, and he often dared to venture too close for comfort. Soon recognized as sport and fair game by the cubs, it became a favorite pastime when they felt like disobeying their parents.
Speaking of which, his Dragga and Drappa - his father and mother - made praying to Tor and Fenris a regular ‘chore’ - much to the letdown of the cubs. For his part - and largely on behalf of the others - Turpin enjoyed listening to tales of evil Wolfbane and of a horrid Grasht, a vampire. These were stories all of them could really sink their teeth into. But whenever they played games together, Turpin always swore to use his powers for good and never for evil. In any case, this at least, eased his parents.
But, as all stories go, he underwent a trauma that separated him from his family. Sheep in the local village had been disappearing and, as outraged as the villagers were they took off with their dogs and hunting bows and traps and sought to destroy the pack. The members of the pack - not including the cubs or the Drappa - sought to create a diversion while the mother spirited away one cub at a time - her pace painfully slow. Unfortunately, Turpin and his half-brother (by his father’s blood) were the only two which managed to escape.
Turpin and his brother Mioke, fled west and across the Russian-Transylvanian border into the country men called Transylvania - to which the wolves only called the Land Beyond the Forest. However, only one actually escaped into Transylvania. Their densite was hardly ten miles from the border and the dogs tracked and caught Mioke while Turpin watched with increasing horror and fear from the shadows of a hollow tree. Sometime during the night, when the dogs bayed back toward the calling hunters, Turpin flew into the Land Beyond the Forest and, with little reason to leave, has decided thus far to remain.
