Basics
Full Name: Nova Leonte
Age: 3mo.
Gender: Female
Species: Common Gray Wolf
Pack: none
Rank: Kerl
Appearance
Mottled in the traditional black, brown, cinnamon, cream, copper and white, Nova has the average coloration for a pup of her age, with slightly noticeable timber markings that will quickly become much more prominent as she matures into adulthood. Her eyes are a limpid blue, but are also transforming into what will soon be a brilliant golden color. For now, greenish-yellow streaks appear at the iris rims. She has a small physique, but it is robust and still retains all of her shapeless puppy fat. Her face and head are rounded, though she has a strong, proud muzzle and finely crafted features.
Personality
Nova has a streak of wanderlust, perhaps from her mother or grandmother or somewhere further up the matriarchal side of her family tree. She also loves to tell stories, and has a strong imagination that keeps her company when she's alone. For the most part, she enjoys the fellowship of other wolves, and tends to get along quite well with friends and strangers alike. She's not very shy, but not very intuitive either, which makes her almost oblivious to the malicious intent of others when they hide it. Additionally, this little adventurous cub has an affinity for the night sky and for the moon, and will spend hours staring intently into space when she has the time.
Biography
The Leonte pack was small, consisting of Nova's parents and her uncle and aunt. They were a loving family, and their only great flaw was that they were a bit forgetful, inattentive, as if they were almost constantly pondering some inward reflection or musing about the world around them. Needless to say, it wasn't a horrible place to be born in, and when Nova and her siblings arrived, they couldn't have been more loved and doted on by any other family. Chogan and Sinopa, Nova's parents, made absolutely sure that the three newborns had everything they could possibly need.
Now, born between her two siblings, Nova came to appreciate a 'beta' position within the litter as she grew older. Her brother, who had been born last, succeeded in heading the trio as 'alpha' pup, and Tiva, the oldest sister, became 'omega,' but such trivialities didn't keep the pups from enjoying one another's company all the same. Nova loved to play, especially hide and seek at which she was very good. But she also enjoyed something her siblings did not. She had a taste for wandering, and would often spend her days exploring the small rocky outcroppings that surrounded the den as opposed to taking a nap in their cozy underground home. Her parents, who at first were a bit worried at their daughter's constant traveling, soon grew accustomed to searching out among the forest clearing for young Nova.
They often tempted her back in on her own accord by promising a story. Now, like her brother and sister, and most other cubs for that matter, Nova heartily loved stories. The stickier and messier the better. Wolfbane, though watered down to be suitable for the cubs, was a popular subject for storytelling. Fren, too, was a beloved character, as were the wolf gods, especially when dealing with the clever hero or wily villain. Nova soaked up the stories with gusto, eating them up with such ferocity that her aunt, the storyteller of the pack, was considering making Nova her apprentice when the cub became old enough. And though Nova would have thoroughly enjoyed the position, it was not to be.
Like all packs, the Leonte family soon moved to a rendezvous site when the pups were older. It was a hollow den near a slow moving river, located in a vast clearing close to the mountains. It was absolute paradise, but it would also be Nova's demise. The night after they first arrived, the pup thought it would be a great idea to go exploring her new home, and set off without another thought in her head. The good-hearted, but forgetful uncle, Satank, watched her go then promptly fell asleep, basking in the warm sunlight of a surprisingly mild day. Without his supervision, Nova ended up wandering much too far, and soon came to the river, which no cub was permitted to go. She, like her well-informed siblings, knew the dangers of the water, and the horrible tales that surrounded it. But she was a daring pup, and was itching for a chance to disobey--as any youngster is tempted to do at some point in their life. So, she decided to play in the shallows. Then, she went a little deeper. And a little deeper after that. So deep that, after a while, she could no longer touch, and to her dismay, the current carried her away from her home and family.
Which is how she came into the Land Beyond the Forest. After a little while, she managed to pull herself onto the bank, and, while not wholly panicked just yet, she set off in a frenzy to look for her pack, heading off in the wrong direction...
