Name ~ Azure
Age - Seven months
Gender - Femora
Appearance - Intense, young, blue eyes and a slender muzzle summarizes the outline of her face. Immense, pronounced auds are positioned on her smooth skull that curves abruptly past her brow to the strong snout that extends to her sizeable moist, black nose. Ripping incisors, tearing canines, and grinding molars, enclosed by healthy, pink gums, have all but replaced her keen milk teeth. The ruff around her trim neck creates the impression of a larger scale of her head, folding about her face from the base of her ears to the center of her chest. The ivory tint runs from her narrow chest to her graceful forelegs, large paws splayed beneath her frame. As she is still young and not fully developed, her chest is broader than that of an adults and she remains too undersized for seemingly abnormally large sized paws. The fur along her underbelly is thick and woolly, offering protection to the sensitive areas of her body. Her powerful, muscular hind legs follow, rippling with tight sinews that enable her to run for a seemingly infinite distance. Yet again, she has not fully trained for long distances and tires quicker than adults. A significant, luxuriant tail usually suspends at a relaxed and tranquil pose, clearly a fine portion of her being. Lengthy, thick guard fur extends past her velvety puppy down, growing especially coevil one and long across her shoulder blades, at the base of her neck. Her coat, being of arctic decent, is a pure white except for the off ivory hue, which is set in such places that distinctly echo a traditional timber wolf’s markings: neck, belly, forelimbs, and interior of rear legs. Her intelligent blue eyes have never developed into the searing amber-gold of her forefathers, but have remained the limpid sapphire, miraculously preserved for they have never changed tint or value.
Persona - Azure, a young she-varg, is a timid creature at first lick. When confronted by friend or foe, she readies for battle as she was once taught to do, yet being as tender as she is it would be nearly impossible to fight successfully some of the larger of her age. Yet, she is quick to forgive, and though she may never forget, she is willing to try anything again to regain pleasure. Though the young she-wolf is kind, she is not overly so, and one must often exert themselves to receive friendship, trust, and loyalty from her. Once confidence is gained, Azure remains an honest and reliable companion. Dare she fight for those she loves, Azure can be a potentially deadly enemy, quick to retaliate. In battle, brute strength is not her asset for she cannot fully reach the power of a well-muscled, fully developed adult. Instead, she uses their own strength against them, often a useful tactic in an encounter. Like many of her own age, Azure is habitually too curious and inquisitive with everything and anything within eyesight, and her only flaw besides size, is her excessively inquiring nature. She is not the supreme huntress, though is a quick and talented apprentice. A superb comrade, dedicated, thoughtful and dependable, Azure loves company, loves to explore, and usually finds herself in a bit of trouble every now and then.

Record - The young she-varg’s history is not a pleasant memory, often something she regrets, something that haunts her. It’s a bitter thing, to be solitary and alone to have nothing to remember but past lives and voices, harsh words and indignant scars… yet had she thought about her last life, the one she forsake, she would remember this, those lingering muzzles and unforgiving terms that had sealed her fate -
Life began in a shallow trench, guarded by a hollow log, nestled at the foundation of a cluster of towering trees. The Drappa, Shakina, was a young, lithe she-varg of only one and a half years. It was her second litter, and she was anxious to have it go well. Her attractive fair muzzle was laced with bitter pain as the tremors took her body. Her mate and proud Dragga, Rokene, was nearly all pitch with faint traces of lighter grays subdued within his thick pelt. This was his second litter as well, and he was worried for Shakina for winter was fast approaching. Restlessly, he paced across the slight rise above the den. Black ears quivered and whiskers trembled as he waited. Telka, the storyteller waited a distance away. Licten, the babysitter - otherwise known as a pup from the alpha’s last litter - hung about the trees as a shadow. Irrenti, the storyteller’s younger sister, waited patiently below the den. It wasn’t long before Rokene was summoned, and the pack cluttered about for their turn to see the pups.
As tradition goes, Telka was first to see the pups and give them her blessings. She licked each one in turn, promising to always teach them the meaning of her stories and keeping them secure. Irrenti growled pleasantly, assuring to keep them straight in Tor’s eyes. Licten merely smiled, his joy hardly contained as he bounced about, gazing down fondly at the little bundles of fur. One dragga there was, and one drappa.
As they grew, each developed their unique personality and traits. Kover developed more like his father. He was a broad, muscular little whelp, though he held the lanky body and rotund puppy fat. His thick pelt was of a darker hue and even his eyes began to blaze a brilliant gold. Azure matured to the represent the handsome features of both of her parents, yet carrying the mark of an arctic varg. Her eyes never quite changed into the proud gold of her brother’s, a mark the pack found quite to their amazement and delight for they too believed that a flaw is a unique peculiarity and brings good luck to its bearer. After a time though, that flaw turned into a particularly nasty attribute.
Kover, the pup that he was, began to grow jealous over Azure’s ‘gifted eyes’, something he considered more of curse rather. A corrupted thought soon lead to a tainted mind as he lingered about the den, notions forming in his mind that were far from truth. He began to see his sister as a menace, a fault in the pack that made it weak. The more he considered the idea, the more he added to it. Her special marks would defiantly rank her higher than him on the puppy positions. She would get the better training, the better treatment. He was bigger than her, swifter, a better pupil, stronger, and a superior leader. Azure possessed none of the great traits he had inherited. She was small and weak. What about when they grew older? Would her special mark threaten his position in the future? As he pondered this subject, the more he began to see her as a growing menace to his interests. Surely she would always be superior to him. He could see himself having to lie before her if she so chose. A pup’s mind has only one intention once it has set its mind to something, and Kover began to imagine that the pack needed to be rid of this hazard.
A particularly hot day was his choice. Distant rain clouds could obscure any ideas that he was in any way, shape, or form connected to the downfall about to disturb the pack. Plus, if it rained, there was another opportunity had he failed at his first attempt. Kover suggested that Azure take a walk; explore the river to be more precise. As he had hoped, his parents gave them a simple warning before snoozing again in the warm shade. Within, Kover snorted in disgust as his little sister tagged along behind him. Every little blink she took was another reason to cleanse the pack. After a few hours, Kover’s chance had come.
The rainstorm had finally branched along this way and forks of lightning littered the overcast sky. Azure opted to turn back, for they had not yet reached the river and it would be raining once they had. The den was still close enough to be made if they turned around now. Kover merely grunted and kept padding along. She was the Sickla of the two and followed him. When they reached the soggy banks, Azure kept glancing apprehensively overhead, waiting at any second for a drop to hit her muzzle. As she was sky gazing, she was startled out of her hesitant reverie by a menacing chuckle before her. The broad shoulders of her six month old brother were shaking, his muzzle earthbound until he threw it to the heavens, the laughter fading from his lips.

//more for the record, over 10,000 words so I had to shorten my posts and reply again... sorry//
“So Azure… tell me, why is it that you are the chosen Drappa child? Why is it that you possess such a flaw and not me? I yearn to know why it is that you plan to take over this pack…” Kover turned to face his sister, eyes blazing. She flinched beneath his gaze.
“Kover… what-” Azure yelped as her brother swung a giant paw at her muzzle. She fell, legs buckling beneath her as she tumbled in the mud of the icy riverbank. The air had escaped her lungs and she felt paralyzed and confused. What wrong had she ever done her brother? And when had he expressed any anger at her? She was helpless against his rage and strength, yet she still could not bring herself to believe he worst suspicions.
“How many times Azure, how many? How many times have Mother and Father overlooked me and chosen you? Because of your ‘special gaze, the gift of Tor’? Bah, I’m tired of talking. It will soon be over any way. There is the river for your deathbed, and there is the rain to hide me.” He chuckled again, voice becoming hoarse.
“It’s just a stupid flaw Kover… nothing more. Please. What have I ever done to you?” Her heart hammered in her ears as she pleaded for life. Yet the fury and wildness in her brother’s once proud gold gaze represented his judgment. Slowly, she backed into the river until her paws were enclosed by an icy tide. Just as he lunged, the rain broke free with a final lightening bolt. She dodged his attack, quickly leaping over his bristled back as he slid into the shallows of the river. He turned and threw himself at her again. Without any time to counter his assault, Azure rolled onto her back, teeth flashing. Her outstretched claws caught his underbelly, though his teeth contacted her throat. For an instant, she knew it was all over, that life had diminished right then. Yet after she blinked, she realized that she was still alive and her brother’s aim had hardly been accurate. He still gripped her neck, yet had barely pierced her skin as he held on. Quickly, she buried her claws into his stomach and began digging into his skin. With a painful yelp, he let go, staggering for a moment.
“Clever…. Clever little girl….” He panted. “Well… if I go… you’re coming with me.” He leapt back onto the wounded Azure, aiming for her throat yet again. But instead, he rolled over at the last minute and knocked her over. She tumbled. Yet, she managed to clasp something that ended this skirmish. She bit hard into his throat. Letting go when he stopped struggling, her eyes brimming with fear and sorrow. As she backed off, he staggered, breathing harsh. His eyes cleared momentarily. “Azure….. What…… I’m so, so-” he fell forward, legs buckling. Azure stood as if in a trance, staring at the form of her lifeless brother, guilt flooding her mind. She was startled out of her trance by the rustling of leaves. She turned to look behind her. Licten stood, staring at her and Kover, suddenly sprinting away. Azure turned and fled, heart hammering.
For a few days Azure wandered alone but always on the pack territory. She knew she faced certain death, but she did not yet feel like she had been exiled. She had not yet seen her pack, besides Licten, and wondered what they would think when they heard the news. How much had Licten seen anyway? These questions troubled her every waking moment, unless she was visited by the remembrance of the crazed look in Kover’s eye. She was not yet ready to see the pack again, but hunger drove her to seek the den in which she was born. There, like she had supposed, she found her mourning pack. At first, when she entered their midst, her mates stalked away, growling. When her mother saw her, Telka snarled and spat. “Some gift from Tor… my baby Kover…” Rokene motioned for her to come in the den. Reluctantly, she allowed herself to be put into a small space with only one escape route.
Judgment was passed there.
“Licten told us what he saw… what is your interpretation of your encounter?” Rokene’s voice was not at all pleasant as it had been only a few days before.
Unwilling to confess of her brother’s madness, yet asking for forgiveness, Azure told what little would sound correct to the Alpha’s ears. “Kover was upset because I nearly pushed him into the water. We were playing tag and we both knew that to die within its depths would lead to a wandering soul. I guess… I over did it. We started fighting. I rolled away from him when his paws slipped and he fell and hit his head on a rock.”
“I saw her kill him. I saw the innocence and confusion in his eyes,” Licten accused. “She ripped out his throat.”<br> “What? Liar! I did not! I swear upon Tor’s name!” Azure cried, her eyes blazing. “Don’t! Don’t you dare take Tor’s name in vain.” Telka growled harshly. “Or accuse your older brother of treachery and lies. The evidence before our very eyes suggests you did it!”<br>“But Mother - Telka!”<br>“Get out! You are banned from our territories under the penalty of death!” Azure ran, she fled the pack boundaries, horrible images and thoughts the best of her memories. Perhaps she may find a better life… somewhere.
