The snow covered lands of Ge-rad looked less than welcoming to those passing by. But the members of Ge-rad knew otherwise. The snow covered the lands and trees, but it kept the dens of the Ge-radians safe from view. With the passing of their Drappa Cwen and the dissapearance of so many vrargs, the loyal and kind nurse had been promoted to beta femme. She was honored that Draeg and Shoko had even considered her in the first place, but now that she was beta she felt her loyalty for Ge-rad burn even intenser.
Her mate Cal was missing, perhaps he had been on a duty run and got side tracked, who knew. But Uskiya had waited around long enough, she couldn't keep putting her life on hold for him. She was a member of this pack and had her own duties to perform. Ayasha, her daughter had returned, although they had ended on a less than welcoming note, the new beta was pleased her daughter had returned. However she did not know why she had returned, but suspected that something had gone wrong. There was also a new member to the pack, a varg by the name of Krystal Zanguzen, Uskiya hadn't met her but she was excited to . Firefly also had returned after being gone for quite sometime. Being friends for many moons Uskiya wanted to see her.
Pausing at the clearing where so many meetings had happened, Uskiya decided that she would prefer to have this greeting elsewhere. Wandering around the center of the pack lands she came upon a smaller clearing that hadn't been visited in quite some time.
Tilting her head upwards she let out a howl, inviting anyone to come and greet her, after all, it had been awhile since the pack had been together. Especially at a time like this Uskiya felt the need to socialize. The howl ended somewhat short but long enough to invite any who wanted to come. Turning to face the snow covered area Uskiya quickly dug the snow out from around where she wanted to sit. She didn't mind the snow but the thought of sitting on something cold didn't appeal to her since she had been sitting on snow for weeks.
Waiting for Firefly and anyone else, Uskiya began to groom her fur. She hadn't paid much attention to her appearnce since the snows had fallen.. But now she was somewhat self concious, she was after all the new beta femme and wanted to look somewhat decent. Shrugging her shoulders she sat down and waited patiently.

Only a few suns had gone by since the truth had been reveled about Draeg’s mood as of recent. The death of Cwen had certainly affected all the Ge-Radians of the terra, the Ge-Rad Dragga especially. It was a shame that Krystal never got the chance to know the twisted Drappa, for she had arrived to Ge-Radian soil far too late and never got the chance to so much as see the ivory Drappa. The mood around everyone was somber, as they mourned over their fallen Drappa, and though Krystal felt sad for the death, there was only so much sympathy the bi-colored fae could pull out for a Varg she had never known. It would take some time for life to return back to normal. But for now, the former Zanguzen would continue to watch over her new home while others mourned over the death of Cwen. If anything more were to happen to Ge-Rad, it certainly wouldn’t be a good time for the Ge-Radians to deal with any more burdens.
Krystal gently made her way over the ivory snows, not in any particular hurry as her ebon paws carried the bi-hued fae across the powdered terra. Over the course of the time she has been with Ge-Rad, it was clear to the warrior that the entire territory in essence could be split of into to sections, the western plains and the eastern forest. On this expedition, Krystal would wonder through the forest aimlessly. The trees were bare of life from Wolfbane’s grasp, but such troubling times were only temporary. Spring was well on its way, and it wouldn’t be much longer now until the first signs of rebirth would begin to make there presence known. As Krystal made her way, a howl pierced the forest for only the briefest of moments. The call was close, and invited any. With that thought in mind, she turned her direction and trekked gently toward the summoning howl.
She would soon arrive at a clearing in the midst of the forest. There, only one Varg was caught in the sight of Krystal’s bi-hued gaze. She had seen her a few times, but had never really met the nurse and now Beta wolf of Ge-Rad. Uskiya gently lapped at the fur around her form to better smooth it out. Perhaps she was waiting for someone she knew was coming, and the call hadn’t been meant for Krystal’s twilight auds. But seeing as Uskiya was alone for the moment, she decided that there would be no harm in just getting to know the mother of Ayasha. Making her way out of the shadows of the Ge-Radian forest, Krystal padded up to the gray Beta and bowed her head gently to the fae in respect. It was only then that Krystal realized she didn’t even know her name, and felt a ting of embarrassment. “Good morning.”She spoke.

Uskiya waited for a moment more before she heard padding paws coming closer. She wondered who would respond to her call, hopefully Firefly was around. When Fly had been more available so to speak, she and Uskiya had become friends. But time had passed since she had seen the hybrid fae. Ge-rad seemed to have a terrible monster that gobbled up the pack members. Rarely spitting them out.
The sun peered over the tree tops, Fenris lapping the leaves as he searched for his children in thei woods. Uskiya looked up, apreciative for the warmth since the past few months had been cold and unwelcoming. The snow, almost all gone was slowly melting, leaving pools of water in the tiny moats around the base of trees. Smiling Uskiya looked back to the forest floor where she caught sight of a black fae. Ayasha?. The new beta but still nurse of Ge-rad wondered.
Auds perked forward as the black she varg approached. It looked so much like her daughter. Uskiya's brush began to wag, moving small sticks and rocks as her hind quaters wriggled.
Good morning was the reply Uskiya recieved. Her brush sltopped it's pounding as she realized it wasn't her daughter, but the newly joined Ge-radian Krystal. Giving her a smail Uskiya let out a small laugh. "I thought you were Ayasha. You two look a lot alike." Uskiya spoke, picturing both femmes standing side by side. A thought popped into the gray fae's cranium. Perhaps iit wasn't chance that Krystal and Ayasha looked alike, that they met both traveling to Ge-rad. They also formed a bond despite being from different lineages.
"I had a still born in my litter. Before Ayasha, she was the last of the litter. That's why she iis...I should say was, so bitter at the world." She gave Krystal an apologetic look, rambling on like this was probably so strange to the bi-hued femora. Although, it was odd, that Krystal and Ayasha were both similar ages, both similar looking. Cocking her cranium Uskiya contemplaited the thought. PErhaps, maybe Tor and Fenris had.
Uskiya shook her head. It was silly that Uskiya would think that........if everything had gone right. PErhaps Krystal.....again the gray fae shook her head. Tor wouldn't play such a strange game with her. But. She thought about it again. "Forgive me, I was just thinking about. This may sound really odd, but I feel that as Fenris is peeking above the trees, he is trying to tell me something. You and Ayasha are so similar that." She felt strange about speaking to Krystal about this, but there was something that Uskiya couldn't shake. The feeling that Krystal was supposed to be part of her family. But that was just crazy. She let out a sigh.
"Krystal I'm sorry. It's just that I feel that if Tor hadn't decided to place you in the belly of another femme, you would have been in my belly. I know it sounds odd, but for some reason I feel that it is true." She hoped that she hadn't scared off Krystal or come off as slightly deranged. But as strange as it sound, the feeling couldn't be erased.
She glanced back up at Fenris, high and mighty in the sky. If only he could extend awing of comfort down upon the gray fae. Lapping at her fur to comfort his children.

Paws dragged through the newly fallen snow as Firefly had padded from the commmunity dens of Gerad. She had retruned not long ago from her capture in a human village where she had learned her own history. She had been a forgettor of her past, sinned by the loss of memory and fear that had grasped onto her when she had been a yearling. But with a help of a friend of her mothers, she was told the story of her mother and how it had been. It had made the tan hybrid realize that life in a pack was far better then being a lap dog.
With the snow crunching underfoot Fly looked up, cyan orbs catching the glimpse of two figures out in the distance. Cocking her head the hybrid gave a shake of her curled tail, fox like muzzle lifting as she scented the scents. It was Uskiya and a the new femme that had met with her at the border upon her return. Though they still needed to be better acquintanced.
Dainty paws carried her lightly over towards the two wolves. Giving a greeting nod Fly yipped, her bark genetically higher pitched. "Uskiya!" she barked, the two needed to catch up on many things as they didn't find the time to sit down for a chat yet as the wintering months had brought many tasks on their paws. "Krystal am I right?" she asked turning to face the Zanguzen, though Fly was never good at remembering names. Many things had changed since she had left and returned. Faces left and faces came. Though the tragedy of the death of their drappa had been one of the biggest changes. Fly felt for her mate, and sympathized with the rest of the pack in a loss that would affect everyone. Though to the heart Firefly was not greatly affected. As the two fae had once been at each others neck, Fly was one that wanted nothing to do with the bittersweet rival, though the drappa had wanted the hybrids throat in her jaws. Fly had to spend a period in time looking over the back of her shoulders everytime she strayed aroudn the Ge rad lands, not to mention she had a quiet worry for the protection of her pups. Though her sons had long ago fled their roost to live lives of their own as some do.
But enough of dwelling with the past and on with the future. The wind was warm and this could only mean two things. Wither spring... or more snow to come.

The recent change in life established for the bi-colored fae had proved to be difficult. Though Krystal now had a pack to call family, so far only a few Ge-Radian’s had actually taken the time to get to know the newest addition to their relations. Perhaps the most apparent truth to this was the birth of Yelae’s pups. A gathering of most of Ge-Rad were present for the birth of new life, and the bi-hued fae was either ignored out right entirely, or shunned completely. Things were difficult indeed, but perhaps things would turn around. It would seem so anyway, as Uskiya’s tail swished in content. Was the gray nurse and Beta of Ge-Rad actually glad to see the former Zanguzen? It seemed that way, until Uskiya spoke to Krystal, making it obvious that she had confused her for Ayasha her daughter. Though what the nurse said was true for in many ways, the two warriors were indeed similar in look.
Before Krystal could speak, Uskiya spoke again, this time about a subject that seemed to be pulled out of seemingly no where. The nurse spoke of a lost life that had been produced by the mother, a still born. It was the worst fear any mother had when bringing new life to the world, far worse then all other fears. To those words the bi-colored femora whined in sympathy. Uskiya’s for the moment seemed to be in deep thought, at her mind rattled over a thought that had played out in the Beta’s subconscious. “Your daughter is wonderful. We’ve grown close; she’s like a sister to me.” Krystal spoke; maybe her words would bring the nurse back into reality. Uskiya would speak aloud her most recent thoughts about Tor and how the wolf goddess governed the process of who would bare her children. To her thoughts Krystal would tilt her head to the side in puzzlement. She had never thought that her goddess could act in such unusual ways, but who was to say that such events weren’t possible for an all powerful entity?
“Anything is possible if Tor and Fenris will it.” Krystal spoke; her voice mirrored the soft tune that was once carried by her own mother. It was then that she too began to notice the similarities that Uskiya held to her mother. From what she could tell, Uskiya seemed to have a natural will to care for others, much like her own mother had. Even her speech and tone held similarities that nagged at the back of Krystal’s mind and stirred up images of the past. “My mother was taken away from me. I loved her so very much, you remind me of her. You both cared so much for others.” It was at that moment that another Ge-Radian had decided to pay a visit. Turning her sapphire and emerald orbs at the new figure, her gaze quickly caught the form of Firefly as she approached. Krystal had met Draeg’s mate once before at the borders of Ge-Rad, and even though things had turned out ok, she still felt slightly irked over having interrupted a reunion between the amber Dragga and his tan mate.
Krystal at the time also didn’t know about the polygamy that existed between Firefly, Cwen and Draeg. She would be first told about it by the amber Dragga himself. Though it seemed strange at first, it many ways the relationship made sense. Krystal had always known about Draeg’s infamous good heart, and how the love that filled the amber Dragga was certainly capable of satisfying two mates. It was no surprise to the bi-colored fae that the amber male had indeed found two fae’s he could share his love with. As strange as it was, who would question the love that was the Ge-Rad Dragga’s? “Uskiya…” Krystal would whisper the name after Firefly spoke, she certainly felt better now that she knew the nurse’s name. Firefly would then turn her cyan orbs on the Ge-Radian fae, ushering a greeting to Krystal in the process. “Yes.” Krystal responded with a nod of her head and a bow soon after. Though no one in Ge-Rad had spoken about it, with the death of Cwen, did that not make Firefly the automatic choice of new Drappa? It made sense in Krystal’s mind, and it was enough to merit a proper bow of respect one would give to their Drappa. “I hope things are going well with you and Draeg. It must be difficult for the both of you with Cwen’s passing.”

Uskiya smiled, Tor and Fenris were a huge influence in th life of the vargs. She wagged her tassel at Krystal's response "Loved ones are often taken from us." She was thinking of her mate Cal, who no one knew what happened to him. She was about to ask Krystal if she would be her adopted daughter when Firefly entered.
Uskiya wagged her tassel, happy that her friend had finally returned. "Firefly! It's been too long." She nuzzled her dear friend, happy that she had returned. "I'm glad you're back. I'm sure Draeg is too." She smiled when Firefly spoke to Krystal, happy that Krystal was known in Ge-rad.
"Firefly, did you know that Yelae gave birth?" The nurse barked, happy that Ge-rad once again had pups. But the one pup from Cwen's last litter Uskiya decided not to speak of. She was currently on break from watching her. "Krsystal, I wanted to know if you would like to be my adopted daughter, since you and Ayasha are so much alike." She smiled, hoping that Krystal wouldn't mind her asking in front of Firefly.
"Firefly, I am glad that you are back, we have to spend some time together. But I know that you and Draeg want some time as well." Uskiya knew that the death of Cwen must have brought a mix of feelings for the hybrid. She must've been relieved of the constant threat, but perhaps she felt sorry for Draeg, or maybe not. Uski knew that she would be mixed, but then again, she worried for the others arond her and rarely thought of herself
