Lip twitching Draeg sent an icy glare in the direction of his grandson, his normally soft features hardening momentarily upon hearing Kaemon’s comment. “Don’t call me that again.” he growled, eyes narrowing on the tan youth. “Ever!” If there was one thing Draeg hated it was the insinuation that his constant pursuit of Firefly and Cwen in his youth had been nothing more then a sexual conquest, the slightest inclination that his relationship with both femme had been nothing more then a paltry game was enough to make his fur bristle.
Lately the saying had begun to take on a whole new meaning to the amber varg, reminding him how he had failed to choose between them and thus remain faithful to either femme. More to the point it was a constant reminder of his one night stand with Demon and the life that had resulted from it two moons later, despite the fact that Demon had made it a point to keep the identity of the cub a secret from him until a few moons ago and that their coupling had taken place before his courtship with Cwen and Firefly the event constantly hung over the amber varg.
Draeg knew that Kaemon was only teasing him and that he hadn’t meant any harm which was probably the only reason the amber varg hadn’t jumped him, still he didn’t want his grandson making mention that he whored out either himself or his mates even if to the tan wolf it was all in good fun. Still Draeg had to give the pup props for his witty response following their discussion on the complexity of their family tree. “Alright, well I’m old and entitled to forget things from time to time.” Dividing his attention between the three fae within the chamber and contending with Kaemon the amber varg quickly returned to his previous jubilant disposition, once again partaking in the discussion with his surrogate niece and newest warrior.
He felt his nose begin to burn as he listen to Krystal retell the tale of their first encounter, recalling how he had plunged head first into the river while attempting to secure a meal for himself and the bi-colored fae. “Hey, no fair! I didn’t think you were going to bring that up!” he barked, muzzle burning furiously beneath his fur. Beside him Ayasha began laughing and while Draeg was pleased to see his niece enjoying herself he couldn’t help but pin his ears in embarrassment as his once regal image was slowly stripped away, all the while muttering under his breath. “Oh what do the two of you know?”
Draeg couldn’t help shuddering at the memory of falling into the river, despite numerous dealings in the river the amber varg hated water and put a great deal of effort avoiding large bodies of it if he could help it. However up until recently it seemed that had hardly been the case. The amber varg was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn’t noticed Krystal sending a pawful of snow towards him until it was too late, surprised by the fae’s sudden retaliation Draeg let out a startled yip as the downy white powder collided with his face. Ridding himself of the blinding frost with a quick shake of his head Draeg opened his eyes to find Ayasha and Kaemon rolling around on their sides laughing while Krystal remain giggling softly in her own corner, quirking a brow at the two laughing youths he turned to face the black and white she-wolf, addressing her in a dry, somewhat sarcastic tone. “I can tell you’re going to fit in here just fine.”

//Sorry this was so late, got busy with collages and such. Hehe, sorry if I offended you in any way Draeg, I didn’t mean it and Kaemon was only teasing. This is the only reasonable response Kaemon would probably make (This is exactly what my little brother would do, lol). Sorry it’s so short!//
The reaction from his Grandda was far from what the young adolescent expected. It seemed that all the fun was drained out of the teasing, as the amber Dragga became rigid with hate in Kaemon’s chocolate eyes. In an instant, the mann was on his belly, his own body rigid and his ears pinned against his cranium. His face flushed and his body grew hot with embarrassment, as he tucked his tail closer to his body, almost under it. He had never meant to be disrespectful to the one varg he looked up to, and never in a million years would he purposely insult the older mann. Still, what had been done was done, and no matter how hard the male teen wished, he couldn’t take this moment back. It seemed that be had ripped a band aid off an old wound.
Like a child, Kaemon mumbled something of an apology under his breath, though barely audible, if at all. Getting up with his tail hung loosely behind him, he hid his embarrassment with anger, and proceeded to the back of the den. It was there that his tan body collapsed upon the den once more, his rump facing the others, though he was outside the “group”. Sulking in the corner and muttering inaudible words of hate to himself could only make him feel better, for it had been a long time since he had been so severely yelled at, with such intense rage that only his eyes could see. It was here he remained, cut off from the rest, his pride damaged for the moment.

What was once a joyous occasion turned suddenly astringent, for during the course of play in the icy shelter, Krystal at first didn’t notice the somber look and emotions of Kaemon as Draeg’s words had affected the young adolescent more then anyone had thought. The young males ears now pinned too his skull, he tucked his tail close too his body while the three adults seem too just go about their playful antics. It was only when Krystal turned her gaze on Kaemon did her bi-hued optics caught the solemn sentiments that emanated from his form like a lingering aura that hung visibly over the somber Mann. It was only then did his form stir, as the Ge-Rad adolescent rose too his paws, only to carry his conquered pride toward the back of the icy den, and settle himself into a personal anti-social bubble. Once settled, Krystal whined softly toward Kaemon’s direction. Her whimpers reverberated around the icy fortress much like the ripples of a pond would expand themselves.
For that moment, an uncomfortable silence filled what now seemed like an empty void in Draeg’s shelter. All one could hear was the hymn of hail stones as they clanked on the ground and collected on the ivory terra that lay just outside waiting for them, accompanied with the orchestra of fuming winds as they chanted and howled around the Ge-Radian lands. Turning her sapphire and emerald gaze at the amber Dragga, Krystal stared at the Ge-Rad male for a moment, for she had a good intuition of what Draeg’s mind was probably pondering over at this point. In truth, the scene that played before the bi-colored Femora was strikingly similar too the days when the amber Dragga watched over Huts and Koan back in his youth. And she knew that Draeg would come up with the right words too say to the adolescent, much like he had when ever the two youths of his past ever got into such a state. But just for emphasis, Krystal motioned her face towards the direction of Kaemon once or twice, as if conveying to the amber Dragga to go to Kaemon in his time of need.

Ayasha calmed herself down and shook her coat. Trying to regain what little dignity she had left after being showered with a little snow. Draeg, seemed to find the games wearing down. Deciding it was best if she acted more like an adolecent and less like a puppy.
Turning toward Kaemon she knew a little of what he felt. To be singled out in the moment and punished. Although this situation and her situation were different, she could share the general feel.
"We were only joking Draeg." She said softly, her own little apology for the teasing to have gotten out of hand in such a short amount of time. Standing up she turned toward Kaemon once again, perhaps she could talk to him, not necissarily about what had happened, but about his life after she had left. There was a lot of things she wanted to ask him about Ge-rad and what he had been doing.
She walked over to where Kaemon was lying and sat down next to him. "Hey." She smiled. Not sure if he cared she tried to explain the uncle thing. "My mom, is your mom's adopted sister, and Draeg adopted your mom as a daughter. So it's like my mom and your mom are Draeg's daughters, so it's like he's my adopted uncle. I don't know if you cared, but that's how I look at it. None of us are blood related." she gave Draeh a look of anxiety. For her to be involved in conversation with someone she hadn't seen in months was hard for her. She barely got to the point of talking freely with Draeg. This was all so new to her.
"So what did you do after I left Ge-rad. I know my brother and sister left, but what did you do?" She was merely trying to make conversation, trying to relate to Kaemon because they were similar in age. She sighed and noticed that Krystal gestured to Draeg to go say something to Kaemon. Maybe that could save her from what she felt was a trainwreck. She knew little about socialization. She had been doing fine, but that was when everyone was in on the conversation.

Silence descended upon the small rabble as the once festive activity took on a sour note as one by one dragga and fae became aware of Kaemon’s hurt pride. The tan pup muttering a quick apology and slinking off to the back of the small shelter almost immediately, plopping himself down into a corner and curling himself into a tight ball so that his back was turn to Draeg. Being sympathetic to Kaemon’s predicament Ayasha was quick to pad over to the muttering male, uttering a quiet apology to the two elder varg before moving to comfort the dour dragga. Watching her pad off Draeg sighed, he knew he had let his temper get the better of him and that he had vent his frustration on his grandson. He hadn’t meant to snap at Kaemon, Garm knew the tan pup was probably ignorant of the full extent of his grandfather’s situation. Especially seeing as Kaemon had grown up in a pack where it was apparently okay for the Dragga to have more then one mate at a time. Krystal cast him a forlorn look and motioned for him to follow Ayasha’s lead, silently urging him to tend to his grandson. Still chiding himself for losing his temper Draeg rose stiffly to his feet, waiting a moment to allow the feeling to return to his limbs before copying his niece and padding over to Kaemon.
When he arrived Ayasha was already in the process of making questioning her step-cousin though Draeg could see that she was having some trouble addressing him, apparently not entirely at ease with making idle conversation quite yet. Dismissing her with a swift motion of his tail Draeg padded up beside Kaemon, lowering himself down to the ground so that he was sitting on his back haunches once more and running a paw apologetically along the pup’s back. Oddly enough the amber varg was reminded of when he used to comfort the pup’s father, Koan, when he was pup, back long before he had assumed the mantle of leadership and been nothing more then a simple kerl trying to eek out a living in a foreign land. “Kaemon listen… I didn’t mean to snap at you alright. It’s just…” he trailed off, not entirely sure that now was the right time or place to explain the complexities of his courtship with Cwen and Firefly but wanting the pup to understand just the same. “Complicated. I’m sorry for yelling at you, I promise I’ll make it up to you once the storm passes. Maybe we can go on a little hunt, just the two of us?”

//Ok, last post for me. Sorry Krys, wasn't much Kaemon could reply to. ^^; //
Usually, when Kaemon would pout in the corner like a cub his siblings would just ignore him, or tease him even more. His mother occasionally comforted him, if she felt like he didn’t deserve it. I guess this was one of those times. Indeed, the den had gone silent, and the only thing left to be heard was the pawsteps of one of it’s occupants, and the soft apologetic voice of Ayasha. It wasn’t just him then, she had heard the harsh tone in the Dragga’s vocals.
Kaemon shifted his eyes to catch a glimpse of Ayasha’s black pelt as she padded towards him perhaps to comfort him. The mann felt a sick sensation in his stomach, even though he was now the one with the most attention, this wasn’t the way he wanted to win it. He’d rather be left alone, even hated and misunderstood instead of pitied. Or at least, that’s what he felt was happening. Growling lowly to himself, Kaemon’s ears twisted to the side, meeting Ayasha’s voice.
But what came out of her sweet little maw, really threw him for a loop, causing his head to raise from his paws. ‘seriously? She’s talking about that?’ Was all he managed to think. “I knew we were never blood related,” Kaemon said bluntly. “I knew that yours and my mom were like, heart sisters or something. I just didn’t connect your mom as Draeg’s, erm, you know,”(ooc: seriously, I forgot the word! O.o)Kaemon finished, flushing a little. He only added that last part to show her that he wasn’t as dumb as he looked, but instead, it just backfired. He felt like he looked stupider now, than he was five minutes ago.
Not too long after Ayasha joined him, the devil himself did as well. Though Kaemon still felt a little cold towards the Dragga for embarrassing him, he couldn’t help but relax his tense muscles to the comforting rubbing of Draeg’s paw on his pack. He was able to listen to what the amber varg said, but it didn’t change his mood. “Yeah, everything’s complicated with you, huh?” Kaemon replied coldly. He wasn’t one to forgive so easily. Most likely by tomorrow, however, he’d forget about the whole situation, or at least pretend to.
“What did I do?”Kaemon repeated Ayasha’s next question, more to himself. “Nothing, I guess. My brother and sister left as well. Kalli went to chase after this one’s son,” Kaemon said, nodding his head spitefully toward Draeg while sitting up. “and my parents and Koude just sort of- left. Koan was always going, but I still don’t know why or where to he left,” the mann replied. There was a touch of sorrow in his voice, he truly missed his family. Heck, he didn’t even know if they were alive or not. “But, I guess that’s just a part of life, huh?” was his last attempt to mask his loss.

(Actually there isn't much for Krystal to do either. Last post)
Indeed there was no room for new Ge-Radian in such an awkward moment that now fell over the other three Vargs. But once again, the resolve and love Ge-Rad had for one another was very apparent in Krystal’s sapphire and emerald orbs. She listened attentively as Ayasha spoke soft words to the adolescent, to try and ease away the pain that perhaps now lingered in his body. It appeared to, that Draeg had gotten the silent message that she had sent him only a moment ago. Resting himself close to his grandson, Draeg offered his own apologetic words, along with a gentle paw rub for added emphasis. The scene that had once been somber in front of the former Zanguzen now looked tender as it played out. Krystal could tell that Kaemon in truth adored his uncle, as in turn Draeg adored his grandson, niece, and the rest of his family. But Krystal wasn’t really a member of this family of his. She was simply, the new Ge-Rad wolf who just came today. Certainly there was no place for her in this tender family reunion.
The thought sank deeper and deeper into the bi-colored Fae’s mind. The tenderness displayed before her brought back many memories of her own mother and father, and how they loved their daughter so much. But that emotion had long since been taken away from Krystal’s life. Rather, it would be replaced with the harshness of reality, the cruelty of man’s hands and the savagery of her own kin. A soft sigh soon escaped her partially opened maw, as Krystal turned her gaze away from the group and toward the exit of the icy fortress in some attempt to now block out the scene that played near by. Instead she chose to focus on the hail stones that piled around the entrance of Draeg’s shelter. Each note left behind by the small ice balls now became tranquil to the tired Fae, and soon she lowered her ebon maw onto her midnight paws. Perhaps one day, Krystal would find the love she had long been searching for in the warm arms of Ge-Rad. But for now, it was time to rest.

Ayasha, watching herself go down in a ship wreck flattened her auds. "I was only trying to bring up conversation." She turned from Kaemon, alittle stung by his reply. Thankful that Draeg wanted her to leave she obeyed and walked back over to sit by Krystal.
Looking towards the entrance they had all came in through, Ayasha wondered if the storm had passed. She doubted that she could stay in here much longer. No one was being malignant towards her, but it was weird for her to be with so many vargs at one time. In a few days she would tell Draeg and Krystal why she had returned in such an odd way. Though she Draeg suspected that something had gone wrong. Her whole life was one big mistake.
Looking back toward Draeg and Kaemon, she pondered her own relationship with her mother. She hadn't see her in what seemed forever. With the coming and passing of winter, it's time to start a new.
