Gray paws padded through the Ge-rad terra, with winter on its way the ground was getting harder. Perhaps snow would fall soon. A gray pelted fae strode quietly through the familar land. Happy that she now had many things to think about. Quietly she sat.
It had dawned upon her that she and Yelae hadn't seen or spoken in quite a while. It would be nice to see her again. Looking beyond the trees she wondered where the white femme was.
Throwing back her head she gave out a call, requesting Yelae's presence if she would join her. Once the call was out the pack nurse lowered heself to the ground and quietly waited. Hopefully she would get to see Yelae and talk about their lives together. It had been many months since the two had spoken.

Lifting her head, her auds cocked towards the direction of the howl. It was a decent autumn day, cool and crisp, the ground a bit hard to rest on, she must say. The suddeness of this season caused something in the Sikla's heart to stir. She had been here a year...though this all still seemed like a dream (and sometimes, a nightmare) to her...a large blur. Friends had come and gone, the Healer, Lydair, seemed now to be a memory, just when they were getting on solid ground. The she-Varg had vanished, causing Yelae to forever ponder as to whether their footing would still be rocky due to the fact that they shared a love.
Shako.
It felt like a yesterday when they had become mates, and yet it was an entire year. Despite turmoil and frequent disappearances, they had stayed together, Beta and Sikla. They had the proof as well. Not too long ago was this young she-Varg courted by her beloved mate, hearts as one soon after Shako had returned with his brother, and inquired to the alpha on the subject of cubs. Perhaps this was his way of seeking forgiveness for being away for so long, for she had only brought up the subject of a family once, perhaps even twice during their year together. All the mates in Ge-Rad had cubs, save for her and Shako. Lydair seemed to rush into it with Koan shortly after she gotten over her loss of Shako, and Uskiya was pregnant upon Yelae's arrival to the pack.
Her blue-green optics widen with recognition. The howl calling to her was the pack nurse, Uskiya, an aquaintance, but from what she had seen a kind Varg. She rose quickly, well, as quickly as she could manage. Though she wasn't halfway through her pregnancy, the weight-gain could be detected obviously, and had not done the naturally-slim fae justice, who was used to easilly gliding upon her paws. Now, however, she felt awkward carrying her newfound weight around. Shaking her head, she slows down and stands up slowly now, her bones feeling slightly numb from the cold she could have sworn there to be a crack.
Trotting at an easy pace, she found the supplier of the call. Uskiya was sitting quietly, had completed her call. Grinning at the sight of her packmate, the Sikla trots closer to the femme, ready for the chitchat that was to come.

Getting up and giving Yelae a gentle nuzzle Uskiya greeted her packmate. The rumor Draeg had told her, indeed was true. As Uskiya herself could tell by Yelae's swollen belly.
"It's been a while." She smiled and sat back down on her haunches, hoping Yelae would do the same. "I notice you're expecting!" She smile, remembering when she too had been pregnant. "I don't want to sound meddlesome, but as pack nurse, and you're packmate, if there is anything you need let me know." she smiled again, hoping not to babble to much.
A slight breeze riffled through her gray fur, winter was on it's way. Another litter was to be born in the cold months. But it was possible, and with a strong pack like Ge-rad, everything would be fine.
"things have seemd to settle down some, or atleast it's not been this quiet for a while." she looked off in the distance, wondering how cold this winter would be. Turning back to the white femme she smiled. "Are you excited about the pups?"

The Sikla allowed the grin to spread across her pretty maw as Uskiya muzzled the wolf, and she did so back in greeting. She settled her body down onto the cold ground, and before she could utter a word, the pack nurse was on a small babble, causing yet another rare smile to form on this usually somber Varg's face.
"Oh no, not meddlesome at all," she states in a comment to one of Uskiya's first statements. In fact, it was something that caused Yelae's heart to settle down a bit, for she was nervous for obvious reasons, and now had faith in this she-Varg to help guide her through pregnancy. Sure she had a loyal and compassionate mate, but a male couldn't supply as much moral support as a fellow female packmate could, especially the pack nurse. It also helped sooth her nerves with the fact that Uskiya has been through pregnancy, and therefore would probably understand what Yelae was going through, and what she soon would be going through.
Uskiya starts up again, and Yelae waits for her to finish. She understood her excitement, for Yelae concurred with the fact that it had gotten too quiet, and new life in this pack would certainly liven things up a bit.
"Of course I'm excited!" states Yelae, "But nervous as well..." her voice grew quiet at that, but then she started up again. "Shako's ecstatic as well. I hope the pack has room for these cubs, though." She recalled that sometime ago Ge-Rad had put a ban on new members due to overpopulation. And even though things have quieted down, there were still many pack members.
But that would mean a good family for her cubs, and that was all Yelae was concerned about.

"Good." She chirped. "Of course I'll be around if you need anything, birthing can be quite nerveracking sometimes." She smiled
"Oh and I'm sure everyone will be so excited, it's been awhile since Ge-rad has had pups. Anyway, I'm babbling." She laughed and shook her fur. "Have you prepared a den? Have you spread out some fur to lay the pups on once they're born?" She asked. Uskiya was excited for Yelae, and this would mean she would have her job again. She loved pups, but since the others had grown up nothing much had happened.
"Unfortunately Lydair hasn't been around for a while, but I'm sure you wont need any special medicine. Besides, Shako will be there for you as well." Letting her thoughts subside for a while Uskiya sniffed the air, wondering when the winds would start up? She also wondered how her pups were, after they had left Ge-rad she hadn't heard much of them. But she hoped they were well.
