Brown hues darted through the forest, golden orbs scanned the ground. It was the preditorial instinct that led the young varg through his home. Skep, with the long abscence of his father had become determined to teach himself to hunt, found that he had learned little from his own teachings. It was difficult for the he varg to learn such a vital thing when he had little experience. But he was determined to somehow learn. His siter Chilaili was handicapped with what Skep viewed as something Tor and Fenris had blessed her with. Though it seemed little of a blessing and rather a curse, Skep tried to look upon the matter with opptimism. Though Chilaili was nearly blind she seemed to see everything and ddn't take anything for granted.
This was all the more reason for Skep to learn to hunt so he could show his elder sister how mmature he was. Skep's cousins, born of Koan and Lydair, as he had come to wonder had possibly already learned to hunt and were ahead of him. but he wasn't sure so he kept his mind on his task at hand. Ayasha on the other hand, wished not to accompany her brother, she would rather sulk. Which for Skep was fine.
His thoughts vanished as his auds twitched. Up ahead the branches of a bush quivered. Skep tensed his muscles and narrowed his eyes. Determined to catch whatever was hiding. He slunk to the ground, furred belly brushing the dirt but noiselessly. Salivia started to dribble from his black lips as he neared the bush. His heart began to pump faster, he could feel his pulse n his neck. He could barely stand the slow creep he made. Nearer he crawled till he was nearly upon the bush. His tender nose took in the scent of hare, just beyond his vision. He tucked his hind quaters down and sprung over the bush with a growl. Dust flew up as a brown blur hit the ground.
Skep coughed and lept to his feet, to hs dismay the hare had gone and had left him for a foolish varg that could not survive alone. "Merely lucky because I live in a pack and that I can have a meal brought to me. My father wasn't around to teach me. Though he promised to when he got back from his next duty." Ashamed that the hare had succeeded in living the brown varg trotted away from his unfortunate attempt. As Skep grew he could begin to define his personality as bits taken from his parents. From his father he got a slightly rebellious side which brought him to try to hunt on his own. He preffered to look at what his father gave him, including his height. Still angered, and sad that his attempt had brought him nothing, Skep trotted to a small group of rocks where he could perch and possibly find a nother hare.
