The Herla never had a chance. Huddling around each other, red pelts marking them out on the snow-covered terrain, the stags and hinds look about them nervously, short tails flicking from side to side, ears twitching. Walking on skinny legs, the fawns, trembling from the cold, padded shuffled at their Mothers' cloven feet. Every now and then, one would slip on the icy ground, toppling over, but keeping their silence. They knew they were in dangerous territory.
Two green disks shone through the shadows, watching the small herd. Hunger flashed in their emerald depths as they focused on first one, then another of the Herla. Her jaws open, slavering at the sight of the powerful Lera, the golden faemme kept her instincts under control, resuing to spring at them. Instead she watched, waiting for one of them to make a mistake, give her an opening, an advantange over the red deer.
Renn did not know she was in enemy territory. Infact, she believed that she was in an undiscovered part of List terra, rather than deep in the heart of Ge-Rad. Hunger had driven her to her wits end, and scenting Herla on the wind, Renn's nose had not picked up the boundary markings, and had headed straight for where the sweet aroma had come from.
Suddenly, the golden-hued faemme shot forward, racing toward the herd, driving it away from the trees. Latching her eyes and movements to follow the path of a fat hind, who was slowed down by her own weight in the snow that had turned to slush under her feet, Renn began to twist and turn, following the Herla. Drawing up close behind it, Renn leapt for her back. A sharp pain filled Renn's muzzle and she was kncoked backwards. The hind had kicked out in one last desperate effort and rapped the faemme. Tumbling backwards, Renn let the herd escape, whimpering as she cradled her muzzle in her paws. Only then did the scent of Ge-Rad flow into her nose. And Renn realised she had not called Tratto's Blessing.

light grey paws shuffled in the snow, apart from the slush she had created beneath her paws, Shayla had created a pretty pattern of pawprints in the snow around her. a sure sign that the young faemme was bored out of her mind. she sniffed lightly and wrinkled her nose, her eyes, the majority of which had been ice blue, were now changing to the colour grey, and she still had that characteristic dash of amber splitting her right iris. a sure sign that she was definately her fathers daughter. not only had she been born with a dash fo amber in her iris, she had also inherited his long and bushy tail, a feature Draeg was extremely proud of, but Shay had yet to see his inept fascination with it. however it was good for flicking at her brothers when she was in a mood to annoy them. apart from that, she mostly resembled her mother, Cwen, her light grey pelt darkened along her back, and sooner or later, she had been told, she could also pass for a double of the Drappa of GeRad. but perhaps not totally in personality.
however, Shay hoped that certain events that had recently happened in her life would not totally change her personality for later on in life. Shay's face contorted with pain for a second. well, recent events had certainly changed her opinions and ways on looking at things. after finding out her father had another mate, and, had had another litter with her, how could she look at things the same? it had been a revelation that had shaken her little world. matured her more than she should have done at a young age. and totally solidified her views on monagamous relationships. she wanted to be sure if she did choose to have a mate, that he'd be faithful to her. that was, if she wanted to have a mate at all.
'pfft! mates... who needs them?' Shay muttered resentfully. an almost guilty voice muttered something inaudiable in the back of her head, and Shay frowned. why had she suddenly thought of Drathlic then? Shay smiled half heartedly as she thought of her friend. he should be in List's territories right now. and she hadnt seen him since she had met him by the river. maybe she should go and visit? apparently the Drappa Fiory was a kind varg, she shouldnt take too harshly to a visitor should she? with a grin firmly written upon her maw Shay trotted off in the direction she had been told List lay in. all the better, a chance to go new places, see new sights, smell new smells, and see her friend.
the chill that had previously been lodging in her muscles was elevated with the exercise, and as she crested a small hillock, the young daughter of GeRad looked out ahead, she inhaled sharply as she saw a herd of herla. oh if Trile was here right now, he'd be stalking them already. but Shay;s eyes focused as she noted that the herla were running, running away from someone... maybe Trile was already hunting them? as Shayla squinted to try and see, her frown deepened. that was not her brother, nor any hunter of Deor. a deep growl emitted from her young grey maw. she did not recognise that golden varg. leaping down from the hillock Shay ran towards the stranger. maybe it was a newcomer? but as she neared as was able to catch a whiff of the so-called "newcomer's" scent, her frown deepend and her face soon took on a snarl. this youngster was about her own age. and carried the scent of another pack. Shay did not know which one, but this was no varg of GeRad, and that was all she needed to know for now. no varg stepped foot in her parent's pack without asking Tratto's Blessing

Several sun’s had past since Kop had accidentally ventured into List and come at odds with the entire pack, he was still rather bitter about the whole ordeal and was trying his best forget everything that had happened that day but he couldn’t help but brood over the matter. He had made sure to stay well away from both his parents for the time being, knowing that his father wouldn’t have forgotten the argument they’d had that day nor what Kop had said to him.
Not that Kop cared, he knew that Draeg had been deeply hurt by his statement and in Kop’s mind he had deserved it. Draeg had lied to them all and convinced Kop and his siblings that they and their mother were the precious and important things in his life, yet the amber Dragga had taken it upon himself to not only acquire himself another mate but sire another litter with her. If Shayla hadn’t found out about Firefly and her pups Kop doubted that Draeg would’ve ever told any of them about the affair. In either case that wasn’t the point, if Draeg had truly cared about Cwen or the litter they had sired together he wouldn’t have gone off and betrayed them all. And what was worse was the fact that he had gone so far as to invite Firefly to remain in Ge-Rad with them, to Kop this was what hurt the most as the tan femme’s presence was a constant reminder of what his father had done.
However Cwen was an entirely different matter altogether, Kop both respected his mother for everything that she was ad had accomplished throughout her life and feared her as he knew all too well what the extent of her wrath was. But above all Kop loved his mother with a fiery passion more intense than the light of any sun, he was loyal to her to no end and followed her without question or regard for the consequences. Kop made it common knowledge that he would do anything for his mother, and yet he had made it a point to keep clear of her for the past few suns for fear of what she might do to him if she learned of his misadventure to List.
And so the young dragga lay beneath what was becoming his favorite tree in Ge-Rad where more and more often he had been coming to think, or in this case brood, he knew that he would have to face Cwen sooner or later but the knowledge of what awaited him and the fact that she would make him apologize to his father kept him rooted firmly in place. He spent most of his time thinking about what had befallen him at List that day and chewing on a rather thick tree branch he’d found cluttered on the ground, when he wasn’t doing that he found that he enjoyed sharpening his fighting skills though it was a great deal more difficult to do without a sparring partner but somehow he managed.
At the moment he was chewing away furiously at his new chew toy, however he stopped as his ears perked to the sounds of a loud yelp not too far off from his current position. Fearing one of his packmates had been hurt and abandoning his toy Kop tore out across the snow, his padded paws splaying out and allowing him to run on top of the dense white powder with the utmost ease. It didn’t take him long to locate the origins of the mysterious yip, however he couldn’t help but groan as he spotted the familiar golden form of the femme he had encountered a few days ago during his visit to List. “You again, what are you doing here? And without Larka’s Blessing?” he groaned. However he went silent upon noticing that she was cradling her muzzle in her paw and whimpering softly, fearing that she had been hurt the grizzled male quickly made his way over to the golden femme.
Although he was still bitter about the way he had been treated in List Kop remembered how the golden drappa had been the only one to show him any real sympathy during his trial and as such didn’t want to see her suffer, he hoped that whatever had happened to her wasn’t too serious and that she would recover quickly before she was discovered by someone other than himself. “Are you okay?” he asked as he padded up beside her and gave her a comforting lick, clearly worried. “What happened?”

The pain in her muzzle distracted Renn from Shayla's scent. Instead she buried her maw deep in the cold snow, determined to cool the burning pain that inflamed her. Continuing to whimper softly to herself, the golden-hued faemme lost track of what was going on around her as the pain slowly drifted away, her maw numbed by the snow. Startled at the touch of a Lera's tounge, Renn lifted her honey head to see who had touched her. She looked up into the grizzled face of the intruding adolescent Mann she had found upon List terra a few suns ago.
"I tripped on the wet snow," Renn lied fluently, ashamed that her hunger had driven her to attack another Pack's prey. "Banged by maw on a large boulder," Remaining on her stomach, the golden faemme made no attempt to get up and leave. Though thier positions had been reversed, Kop had once strayed upon her territory without a Blessing and this was an unexpected pay-back.

Kop watched as the Listern varg continued nursing her injured muzzle, plunging it deep into the ground until the pain gradually subsided and her muzzle went numb in the frigid snowdrift. When she finally spoke to him her words came out as swiftly as water flows in the river, keeping her explanation as simple as possible in an attempt to salvage as much of her fallen dignity as she possibly could. Though if that were truly her intention, she might have chosen a better lie.
Arching his brow slightly Kop cast the young fae a skeptical look, apparently not buying into her deception however choosing not to say anything for the time being. Too many things didn’t make sense in her story, mainly the fact that Kop found it very unlikely that any varg could even trip on snow of any kind regardless of its fluidity. A wolf’s paws are designed for traction and are capable of splaying out upon nearly any solid surface, allowing them to move with the utmost ease even atop surfaces as slick as ice or snow. The very thought that a wolf, even one so young and inexperienced as this femme, could slip on snow much less trip on it was highly unlikely, their anatomy simply wouldn’t allow it. And was there even such a thing as wet snow? Slush maybe, but it would have to be a great deal warmer for there to be any and it was far too cold this time of year for there to be any. Kop knew this, however it seemed that his companion didn’t.
Taking a brief look around them he made a quick study of his surroundings, seeing that the meadow was devoid of anything even resembling a large boulder he gave satisfied nod. However one thing Kop did noticed was an abundance of indents within the snow which he immediately recognized to be hoof prints, probably belonging to a herla or maybe a small herd, accompanied by an assortment of paw prints which obviously belonged to the Listern femme. Lifting his head and deeply breathing in the air the grizzly gray took in the surrounding scents that hung in the air in an attempt to confirm his suspicions, once he was satisfied he turned his attention back over to his companion. “Tripped, eh? I believe you.” He said slyly, shrugging his shoulders slightly as his tail briefly flickered behind him. “Still, you might want to think of something else to tell my packmates if anymore of them show up. You know, just in case.” Winking he circled her for a moment, completing three rotations before laying himself comfortably down on the ground alongside the golden femme.
Like before her presence invoke a strange stirring from within the young gray, however Kop had thought long and hard on this feeling since he had left List to return to his homepack and as such had been given a better understanding and insight as to what he was feeling. It hadn’t taken him long to realize that he was attracted to the golden femme though he knew that it was not in the way others might consider it, it was not love as he had originally thought, for which he was somewhat grateful, but rather more of a physical attraction that drew him to her. Taking a moment to admire her stunning features a moment longer he spoke. “How’s your muzzle feeling?” he asked, leaning closer to inspect her injury once again. “So what brings you this to Ge-Rad, it’s a bit far for someone hailing from the mountain packs boundaries? You didn’t come all this way just to see me did you?” He chuckled lightly. “Well you already know who I am but I’m afraid I never got the chance to learn your name.”

Shay paused and checked her stride as she saw her brother almost welcome this stranger. licking her? Shayla's lips curled and she emitted a low growl, although part of her was almost pleased for her brother, another part wondered if he was making the right choice, after all, this faemme was in GeRad lands without asking Tratto's Blessing.. was she really one to interfere if Kop had found another whom he was attracted to? yes of course she was, she had his best interests at heart, and he'd onyl do the same for her. she hoped. or maybe Shay was just too stubborn to admit that she didnt like the idea that her brother might find another faemme to hog his attentions. Shay had always been the only faemme bar her mother in their little family. she had barely considered that Kop might find himself a mate, that she might find herself with someone else in the family.
snorting so that her breath plumed as white mist. thinking this was definately time enough for her brother to spend alone with this strange faemme. she half wondered, if kop had known her, why she had not been told about her. Shay sighed, she could not help but feel that the siblings were growing apart. if she wanted to blame anything, somethign would always lead her back to before the time she had found out that Draeg had had two mates. before then, everything had been so perfect. Kop hadnt been so distant, Trile too. they had all been one close, normal, family. and now everything was so different, and Shayla was growing to hate it.
'aren't you going to introduce me Kop?' she asked as she wandered into sight. her head was tilted to the side and her grey eyes were staring directly at the golden faemme, past her brother, who was leaning closer to inspect the faemmes battered muzzle. long bushy tail raised slightly her usual welcome to any of her siblings was warm and friendly, but that was to family, this golden stranger was not family, so Shay took on an image more akin to Cwen. more cold and uninviting than anything.

As Kop teased her of her stupid lie, Renn gritted her teeth and kept a retaliation from popping out. Setting her jaw, the golden faemme avoided the grizzled Mann's eyes, looking away to the West. For the first time since she had met Kop, Renn felt a stirring in her, radiating through her young bones, swimming in her blood. It was similar to Kop's own physical attraction, but Renn had not had the time to work out that it was merely to do with the hormones that raced through her adolescent body and state of mind. Glancing over to Kop, Renn would immediately look away again, doing this several times, she eventually did not turn away again, and met the grizzled Mann's gaze, shameless.
Not taking her eyes off him as he leant closer, Renn felt the stirring increase, barely holding this alien fact of life in check. Already the golden-hued faemme could feel the pain slowly creeping back into her maw, but she denied it, not allowing herself to show any weakness, though the pain was showing on her honey face. "It is fine, Kop," Her voice was sharper than she had intended. Refusing to answer his query of straying into Ge-Rad, Renn forced herself to hold his gaze, knowing full well that it was rude to stare. Defiance flashed in her eyes as he gently suggested that he would like to know her name. "I am called Renn," The golden shades Varg growled, looking away. Now that Kop knew her name, it would be harder for her to cope if she should ever meet up with him again. Allowing herself to gaze at his handsome features, each one of them slightly exaggerated in her strange attraction, from his grizzled pelt, to his kind eyes, to his plume of a tail.
The angry voice broke through Renn's thoughts and she gazed up at Shayla, cursing herself for not scenting the she-wolf. Then she cursed the Herla for bringing her to this damned territory. Finally, Renn cursed herself for being such a fool. The cold words were well-matched by Shayla's hard stance, an imposing sight to any weak-minded Varg. However, Renn banished the fear inside her at meeting a Varg who was less tolerant than Kop, and met the gray faemme's eyes, staring hard into them in defiance.. Please don't say my name, Renn silently pleaded Kop.

Kop was forced to bite back another amused chuckle as he watched the golden she-varg grind her teeth in annoyance and avoided his gaze, apparently not appreciating the grizzled Mann’s good-natured teasing. Shrugging nonchalantly the young varg stretched himself out with little more than a slight whine, listening to the rhythmic sounds of his joints cracking and popping back into place before settling himself back down comfortably alongside golden fae. Several times he spied her glancing over at him, turning away shamefully each time she noticed him watching her until finally settling her golden gaze on his grizzled form. At this Kop merely smiled and struck a gallant pose, trying his best to show off before letting out a light chuckle and nipping at her ear playfully.
She snapped at his query pertaining to her injured muzzle causing Kop to growl slightly, feeling hurt until he noticed the pained expression on her features and realized that her injury was troubling her more than she was letting on. Giving out a sympathic whine he began nudging snow over to her until a small pile lay between the pair. Despite his gruff exterior the young dragga had a softer, more compassionate side to him that did not like to see others suffer, and while he was not as emphatic to the feelings of others as his brother Lycaon he still had a better sense of others feeling than his brother Trile. She flashed him a look of defiance and suddenly Kop found himself thinking about how much she reminded him of his aunt, realizing that she even looked every bit the part thanks to her golden fur and eyes. Meeting her gaze evenly as she finally revealed her name to him and whining as she once again averted her gaze, looking down at the ground and shuffling his paws awkwardly beneath him he spoke. “Renn, that’s a nice name. I like it, Renn.” He growled.
Unconsciously Kop moved closer so that his side was pressed firmly against Renn’s, shuddering at the pleasurable feeling of her fur brushing against his and allowing himself to admire Renn a moment more before jumping at the sound of his sisters voice. Kop felt his entire body stiffen as he slowly turned his head to look back over at his sister, letting out a nervous chuckle upon seeing the cold look in her eyes. More than anything else Shayla reminded Kop of their mother Cwen, both physically and mentally, she was nearly an exact copy of the gray femme, sharing the same silky gray fur, powerful build, and unparalleled beauty of their mother, even her eyes which had recently begun to fade were beginning to resemble Cwen and Kop’s steely gray orbs, the only thing that distinguished her from her mother was a sliver of amber in her eyes, a flaw from birth, and her exceptionally long bushy tail, both of which she had inherited from their father.
Embarrassed at having been caught in such an awkward position but determined to distract Shayla from Renn Kop rose to his feet and bound over to his sister, greeting her in the traditional manner like he always did. While it was true that the siblings had slowly been drifting apart over the course of the past moon Kop liked to think that he still held a close, tightly knit bond with his sister, whom he was fiercely protective of and was the closet to him of all his siblings. “Shayla, I’m glad you’re here. I was just getting ready to come looking for you, come I’d want you to meet someone.” He growled excitedly, licking the gray femme fiercely and prancing about her happily. “Shayla, this is my friend…” Kop caught sight of Renn who was returning Shayla’s hard look with one of her own, catching the look in her eye he read her silent plea and continued the conversation without so much as pausing. “Redda, I met her a few days ago on the way to the mountains. I didn’t tell you about her because I didn’t get the chance to learn her name until today, but I invited her over to show her the pack and meet you."

Shay's lips curled and she growled in a discomforted manner. seeing her brother brushing himself up against another faemme like that. Shay did not know this faemme, but she wasnt making a good impression by being here invited and without permission in the first place. as Kop bounded over Shay's maw quivered as she growled deeply and quietly, and she did not retrn Kop's affections instantly, but nipped him almost roughly on his ear to show that, despite being naturally suspicious of the golden stranger, she still loved her brother. she had always been closest to Kop, especially since their excursion to the cave. and because of this she was naturally suspicious of any faemme he might take an interest in. maybe she was just getting colder lately? she certainly hadnt been as friendly towards other vargs as she had been in the past. maybe it was the stage of adolescance she was going through? or maybe it was the family circumstances finally getting to her? for living in a pack with Firefly was certainly difficult for the siblings. being reminded by not only Draeg';s other mate, but by his other pups too, that their father had not been faithful to their mother.
'getting ready to come look for me? sure looked like it.' she growled, a touch of her sarcasm drifting into her voice. then looked from her brother to the strange he introduced as Redda. Shayla snorted softly. something was definately not right. Kop's ability to lie might work perfect on her parents, but the effect did not wash completely with her. something did not fit. considering Kop did not realise she had seen him approach her first, unless the invite had been extended beforehand, and why would Kop invite a varg over if he didnt know her name? lifting her muzzle so that it was level with Kop's ear she whispered in a soft growl so only he could hear. 'nice try bro. your lies may work with Mum and Dad, but not with me. i know somethings up.' nipping Kop on the ear again and then licking his muzzle before stepping forward to stare at this Redda varg carefully. tilting her head to the side.
'so, Redda is it? what pack do you come from?' she queried. form her scent, Shay wanted to guess List. since Drathlic carried that same scent. Shay's nose twitched at the thought. was Kop experiencing the same funny feelings for this Redda as Shayla had for Drathlic? Shay pushed that thought aside in a hurry. no, she didnt feel anything for Drathlic bar friendship. it was nothing but a misunderstanding. in fact, part of Shay feared even the thought of getting a mate. what if she did, and he was unfaithful to her? or what if she fell for one mann, and he already loved another? the thoughts were just too confusing for her right now. she needed to concentrate on the source of Kop's lying. why did he feel the need to lie for this faemme? and, above all, lie to her? that was one thing that hurt Shayla liek a kick in the gut. that Kop had admitted barely knowing this faemme, and yet was already willing to lie to his sister for her. Shay raised her head and looked down skeptically at the golden pelted Redda. what was so special about her anyway?

As Kop brought his body closer to her for a moment, an electric shock ran through the faemme's body, sparks fizzing at the touch of their pelts, but Renn said nothing. Watching the grizzled gray Mann greet Shayla, Renn saw that their storm grey orbs matched, bar the amber flaw in Shayla's. Could they possibly be brother and sister? It was hard to tell, with their pelts being different, but Renn had heard that Cwen, Drappa of Ge-Rad, fur was different shades of grey, very similar to the gray adolescent that Renn was faced with now.
Ears pricked forward, the golden faemme listened to Kop's pathetic attempt at lying. Redda? What kind of a name was that? And why would Kop invite a stranger who's name he did not know to Ge-Rad terra? But at least he was defending Renn, from his sibling as well, showing that he did care slightly about what might happen to her. When Kop had been caught on List terra, it had turned out fine, eventually, but for all Renn knew, Draeg and Cwen were intolerant and would keep her prisoner, or. . .or start a small War with List, and all because Renn's hunger had run away with her!
Startled out of her worries, Renn looked up and met Shayla's cold orbs for a few moments before the question made sense to her dazed mind. Contemplating the query, Renn desided to let the truth be known, at least then she wouldn't be caught up in lies. "Kop was only calling me Redda to protect me," The golden faemme kept her voice polite, for this Shayla was obviously not as tolerant as Kop. "I am Renn of List, the most re-" Cutting off, Renn realised that now she wasn't the most recent Member, for Gryffin had given birth a few suns ago.

Shayla’s muzzle began to quiver and Kop couldn’t help but flinch as heard a low growl emanating from deep within his sister’s maw, showing that she did not like seeing a outsider cross into their pack boundaries without asking Larka’s Blessing and that her brother’s actions had done nothing to improve her mood. The gray wolf wasn’t usually so cold towards strangers, if anything she lived to meet other varg and make new friends just to quench the immense feeling of boredom that would often plague her. Kop was confused as to why she was acting so coldly towards himself and Renn, wondering if perhaps he had prompted his sister’s current state with his supposed closeness to the golden femme. Was it possible that Shayla was actually jealous of the attention Renn was receiving from her brother? He whimpered when she failed to return his affections immediately causing him to pin his ears flat against his skull and tuck his tail tightly between his legs dejectedly, Kop was preparing to shuffle away when Shayla suddenly nipped his ear drawing forth a slight yip from the grizzled varg. “Ow, watch the teeth Shay! Jeez!” he growled gruffly, giving his ear an experimental flick. Despite his gruff demeanor Kop saw his sisters gesture for what it really was and he instantly resumed his customary dominant stance, his tail wagging happily behind him as his tongue found Shayla’s muzzle once again.
Sarcasm evident her tone Shayla spoke, commenting on what had she had evidently seen taking place prior to her arrival. Blushing beneath his fur Kop was forced to turn away in embarrassment, he couldn’t believe that Shayla had caught him in such an awkward position with Renn. Even more embarrassing was the knowing that Shayla had apparently been watching him the entire time, at the moment Kop wanted nothing more than to sink into the ground and disappear so that he wouldn’t have to face either his sister or Renn or live with his embarrassment. Part of Kop was annoyed with his sister for interrupting the proceedings, knowing that things could’ve become a great deal more interesting between he and Renn if Shayla hadn’t shown up. Still another part of Kop knew that the only reason he was annoyed was because of the strange feeling that had been gradually making itself known to him more and more often as of late, making him restless and urging him to assert his dominance over every male he met in a more aggressive manner. Craning his head forward Kop listened intently as Shayla began whispering softly into his ears, wincing upon learning that she had seen through his lies and was still suspicious of Renn’s presence in Ge-Rad. Kop lowered his head guiltily, he hated lying to his sister whom was closer to him than anyone save maybe his mother but he didn’t see any other way to protect Renn. He felt horrible about lying to his sister, especially for a varg he hardly knew, the fact that Shayla knew he was lying only made him feel worse, knowing that she would be hurt by his actions and probably see it as a lack of trust which would only drive them further apart. Shayla made her way over to Renn and for a moment both femme merely stared at one another, Kop guessed that they were probably sizing each other up. Kop made as if to speak but Renn beat him to it, revealing the truth behind her identity and admitting to Shayla’s assumption. Hanging his head again Kop turned away from his sister, apparently too ashamed to face his sister now that he had been found out. “I’m sorry I lied to you Shay, I would’ve told you the truth eventually once Renn had left and was safely out Ge-Rad.” He admitted. “But I really did meet her a few days ago, I wanted to explore the mountains that lay beyond our borders and accidentally wandered into List. Renn was…the only one that showed me any kindness there, I only wanted to return the favor.”

Blinking, Renn listened to Kop's apology to Shayla. It was evident that she should not have revealed her identity so soon, and the golden faemme once again, silently cursed herself. Listening intently to what Kop said, Renn wondered what he meant. Gryffin had been the kindest to Kop, interrogating him, but not snarling at all. All Renn had done was let her soft heart lead her a few steps closer to Kop, not actually say anything. Renn had no idea of Kop's feelings for her, and she could not begin to comprehend that the grizzled adolescent might have got the wrong end to the stick when it came to showing kindness.

The thunderous sound of hooves on solid earth caught the dozing faemme’s attention almost immediately. The silver Drappa’s auds perked and her steely grey gaze stared out from between the thicket’s entanglement of twigs and branches. A hunt? She scented the gentle, yet chilling, breeze carefully before making the final verdict that, seeing as no blood had travelled on the air and there were no howls to signal a kill, that it was either a failed attack or something had spooked the small herd of herla. Growling with annoyance Cwen slowly began to crawl out of her temporary den and halted when she came to a narrow paw trodden path. Yawning widely before stretching out her forelegs and tensing her body, Cwen ignored the dull pain now that panged through her previously injured spine and chest. Still her breathing had been wheezy, but it was nothing compared to what she had suffered a month ago.
Shaking her snow dappled pelt, the Drappa of Ge-Rad picked up her gait into a gentle lope until she was swiftly weaving her way in and out of the tall timbers, her brushy tail held rigid and head aligned with her body. Reaching a tall ridge, the faemme came to a halt and gazed down the small dip to where the commotion had been, and there she spotted three young vargs – two of which were her own cubs. Frowning slightly she peered closer, craning her neck out across the small valley and squinting as Fenris bore through her still sleepy eyes. Letting a deep growl pass her lips she recognised this young faemme that Kop seemed to be standing beside not – and the faint scents that drifted her way on the wind were that of List…a pack she didn’t know very well.
Picking up her limbs again, Cwen began to pad swiftly down the hillside until she drew up level to Shayla, Kop and this new strange fae. “And what, might I ask, is going on here children?” she barked sharply as she came up from behind the group – knowing that if they ahd not seen her coming, they would surely have gotten a shock.
((Sorry it's a bit blunt...coulnd't think of a better entrance >.< ))

Shay snorted softly and a muscle twitched at one corner of her mouth, as if part of her wanted to smile but her muscles would not comply. her gray eyes continued to bore into the faemem who told her her real name was, in fact, Renn. Shay's nose twitched, and for a split second it seemed extremely obvious that she had a flaw in her iris, the amber standing out stark against the grey. it hurt that Kop had lied to her. the siblings seemed to be drifting apart, but she had always been closest to Kop. she was already feeling like she wanted to break free of the confines of GeRad, go somewhere, anywhere else. now she felt she was losing another vital link to this pack.
'Renn...' she repeated, her voice hard. her head snapped about to Kop and she stared at him almost coldly. 'im sick of vargs in this family lying Kop.' she growled deeply. 'its a plague that just follows our family about isnt it?' she growled. then stopped herself. biting her lip she shot her gaze to the ground. that had been too far. she had gotten carried away again. she closed her eyes and sighed deeply. that would have annoyed Kop, alledgedly linking him to Draeg in such a way. lowering her head on her shoulders with her ears back a little she wandered towards her brother. 'im sorry Kop, i dont know why i said that. i know its not true.' cursing herself for letting her emotions get away with her again, Shay moved to give Kop an apologetic lick on his muzzle.
the young grey faemme straightened suddenly as a familiar bark echoed in her ears. Cwen. turned her head sharply her gray eyes met with the almost identical eyes of her mother. she smiled a half smile at Cwen. yet, she did not answer the question. still feeling slightly guilty for snapping at Kop, she allowed him to answer it. whether he wanted to try to protect Renn or not from the possibly harsh judgement of the Drappa of GeRad. she hoped he knew that if he decided to create a rouse, she'd go along with it. not for the sake of the golden faemme, but for her brother. however, she'd want to ask afew questions of him later on. there were several things she wanted to know when she next got a chance to talk with him in private.
