This pack was truly far larger then Draeg had even explained. Nexus had been in large packs before, but never so huge as this Ge-rad. In truth, it shook him to his very core. The pack lands were sprawling and expansive, and had taken some severe adaptation to get to live in.
His only disappointment had been that he knew few to none of the pack members here. He knew Lydair, the pack healer; Cwen, the Drappa; and that was about it. Had he really expected it to be any different? He sighed, and lay down, a wine colored stain on the brown leaves that littered the ground. Maybe it had been a mistake to trust Draeg; Nex didn't like to believe that though, the amber Dragga had true strength, gentleness which Nexus had never felt before.
He hoped that it was him; or perhaps this pack instead. He'd come hoping for a family; friends at the very least. He stared blankly, listening for any sound out of his good ear. When his old packmate; the dear old fool Endi; had torn his left ear, he had robbed him of most hearing in it. His mangled ear still ached from time to time, and while he could still hear somethings, the birthright of wolves, their extraordinary sense of hearing had been partially stripped from him. It made him feel as if he was less wolf then others, but his cool exterior made that rather difficult to be noticed.
Nexus twitched slightly, his head swiveling to meet the oncoming Varg. He could already hear the step of paws crunching gently on the dead leaves. He rose, caught between growling and submitting, tail half raised. He was already developing the traditional shape of a cub; his paws and head were larger then his body. But even so, he was large for a wolf. Amazingly, somewhere farther back in his genes, something even he didn't know,; his father, had some blood of a wolfhound swimming around in him. So then, did Nexus. He had inherited his fathers cunning mind, as well as his mother compassion and fury. It was strange, but who knew these days where the came from...
"Hello?" he asked softly, in his autumn wind voice.
