The sleepy fog of early morning lay heavy on the ground. The sun was just peaking over the horizon, but the autumn sky was still dark with clouds. Everything was quiet and peaceful, the only sounds to be heard was the sudden flapping of bird's wings. Everything was still in the cold morning air.
Then a small shadow emerged from the mist.
The small she-cub was running. Her aching legs stretching far, her claws digging into the cold earth as she flew across the misty forest. The once still air was disturbed by the sounds of panting and an occasional whimper. As the mists swirled and disintegrated along her body, one could get a better look at her. She was a dark shade of gray, odd black brindling running down her back. Her left eye was yellow, a normal wolf's eye. But her right eye was colored with the deep purple of amethyst. Deep gashes raked along her ribs, and her little muzzle was cut up too.
She cursed herself as she ran. Not too long ago, she had caught the attention of a hungry (and not to mention angry) bobcat. The feline had seen the cub as fair game, attempting to slay her for a meal. The young she-wolf had managed to escape, but not without painful wounds. Still running, she looked behind her. There was no sign of the cat. She must have lost it far behind her.
The pain was agonizing. She would need to stop soon. She skidded to a halt. She sniffed the air, snuffling as the scent of many wolves filled her nostrils. This was a pack's territory. The cub had wandered as a kerl after being adopted by the Seer of the Vale of Shadows, and this was the first trace of a pack that she had come across. Suddenly, the sound of a snapping twig made the pup take off again. Consumed with fear, she kept running, but this time her paws proved to be careless. She tripped over a protruding rock, and tumbled over the ground.
The she-cub felt her sides scream with pain as she hit the ground with a thud. Landing in a heap, she lay where she was, too tired to get up. She didn't have the strength to go on anymore. She could only hope that these wolves who lived here would be merciful to her trespassing.

Fenris was peaking over the horizon. It was early in the morning as the fog swirled over Ge-rad lands. It was a calm and peaceful morning, the land was still and quiet. The days however were growing shorter and temperature dropped steady. A pair of eyes suddenly snapped opened revealing orbs of yellow. Turning to his right he stared at his mate Uskiya, who was still sleeping peacefully. Smiling as he knew that her furred belly were holding his children, and he had already had the Dragga's permission to bear her pups. Yawning and maw stretched wide he got up, decided not to wake her up he padded out of the den and decided to take a morning stroll by himself.
Brown paws moving in a slow rhymthic way as he moved through Ge-rad lands staring at the place where he called home. It wasn't that long since he joined here, but he quickly adapted to the environment and knew where the source of water and other Lera were. Knowing that it was still pretty early and not anyone else but Ivee would get up so early. He walked by himself through the trees taking in scents. It seemed like a typical morning and he was enjoying his life. Currently didn't have to do his scouting duties as he was allowed to stay behind with Uskiya until she beared his pups. Chuckling as he thought of his friend Draeg who was also the Dragga, always so understandable...understandable indeed. Even though he had done a lot wrong and told him that he didn't trust him for a moment seemed to have hurt him, but the amber Dragga was responsible and leading the pack well. Not to mention he had saved his life a few times on some occasions. Continuing his walk in memory lane, thinking back of his past and smiling as he thought of the future.
Suddenly, something unfamiliar entered his nostrils. His nose was always sharp on picking up new scents. After being here for so long he pictured everything photographicly in his mind, and something was here that shouldn't belong here. Soon, as he moved closer to the direction of the scent, first thing came to his mind. Blood. Also the scent of another varg. Snarling as he didn't hear on an invitation to the pack he thought that it was a trepasser. Perhaps it was someone from Sarnes or Balkar? Yes, that would make a lot of sense, sneaking into Ge-rad territory...No, Cal would not let that happen. Even though he wasn't on his scouting duties it was also his responsibility if he caught an intruder entering his home. Moving his powerful legs to the direction, he noticed something move amongst the fog. Bearing a snarl and moving closer and he stared at the form laying there. "Halt, who trepasses into Ge-rad lands without Tratto's Blessing?" he snarled. Moving closer to take a look he was surprised to see a young she-pup apparently badly hurt. Her muzzle was slashed and some blood was still trickling that were soon to be dried up. Deep gashes appeared near her ribs and her eye was a deep purple. On the parts that were uninjured, he noticed that her fur was a dark shade of gray, with bits of black running down her back. His snarl disapearing as he saw the pup. "Oh my Tor, are you alright?" cried Cal. "Can you walk? C'mon, we'll get you to Lydair, the healer of our pack. She'll fix you up in a jiffy." Seeing that she was hurt, he allowed her to stay here temporaily, until her injuries heal. Then it would be up to Draeg to decide if she should stay or not.

White mitts hit the ground as a young she-Varg nosed her way around. Still new to the terratory, she was trying her best to know the most about it. Her peltage was a silky white, yet her chest erupted into a bright flame of orange hue. Her eyes were a startling green-blue, yet they were kind, gentle eyes.
Something new stings her black nose, and she recoils in utter suprise. It was no pack mate, for she had learned all of their scents quite easily, but another. Whether a Kerl or another wolf from an opposing pack, she was not certain. Keen ears and nose quickly detected where the Varg was, and the Scout warilly made her way towards the scent.
She suddenly spots the wolf, finding it was a young Varg. Ears perked up with interest, Yelae slowly made her way towards the cub, silver-tipped tail unmoving as she looked carefully at her. She did not get up, causing the kind wolf to fret. Almost imediately she murmurs quietly, though loud enough to be hear, "Are you alright?" she sat a good six or seven feet away from the Varg, not wanting to cause alarm.
Suddenly, another Varg aproaches the cub, and the she-Varg watches intently at how he handles her. Best to let a more experianced pack wolf to handle one case such as this, she thinks to herself, watching.

The cub's eyes fluttered open. The first thing she noticed was a huge male, standing before her. Behind him, there was another she-cub. Cinder was paralyzed with fear as she stared up at the two. When they both asked if she was allright, she answered weakly, trembling.
"I... I dunno. I'm sorry, I didn't know this was a pack territory." Cinder tried to stand as she talked, whimpering and shaking with effort. Her long puppy legs buckled beneath her, and she crashed to the forest floor again. Suddenly feeling very dizzy, she gazed up gratefully at the male. She had expected to be torn to shreds when she was found. In her old pack, far away, any varg showing weakness in any way would be killed. She had grown up seeing mother wolves killing their own cubs.
Shaking her head, she drove the memories out of her mind. "I can't walk," she said to the strange vargs. "I'm so tired... I can't even get up..." Cinder lowered her head, ashamed at her weakness.

((Actually, Yelae is an adult Varg. I think I made her...three years...))
Yelae shakes her head sadly. Unsure what to do, she stands next to Cal, eyes sparkling encouragingly. "Then you can rest," she whispers quietly, "I am sure that the Healer will be here soon enough..." as she said these words, her own mind began to wander.
Once the Healer, Lydiar, came, Yelae would have to leave. The feelings she recieved from her made her wary and confused, and very, very sad. She knew that the she-Varg despised her, yet she still did not know the exact reason as to why Lydair threw her such poisonous looks with her cyan optics.
She shuffles her front paws nervously, but still looks at the cub, comfortingly. It was an almost motherly gaze, almost as though she knew what this cub was going through...and she did. When her pack had banished her during her first year, she had ran to escape the deadly jowls of her ex-packmates, running as far as she could until collapsing.
"Don't worry," she assures the cub once again, "You will be fine..."

Yellow optics still staring at the she-cub as she lay there with numerous wounds over her body. A voice caught him from behind and he knew it belonged to Yelae. Giving her a quick bark in greeting and telling her to look at the scene. When Cinder answered, her voice was soft and trembling. "You'll be fine, I am sure that you can stay here until your injuries heal. I might have to have a word with the Dragga here after...but you're fine. Where you are right now is Ge-rad." said Cal soothingly. At the least he could bring her to Lydair the pack healer, hoping that this cub would be alright afterwards. Seeing that the she couldn't walk, the only way was to signal Lydair here. Throwing his head back and letting out a sharp bark signalling for the Ge-rad healer.

Ears perk, swerve, and a beautiful head is brought up, revealing bright cyan eyes. The femmes' eyes narrow and her maw opens in a quick, short woof, even more evidence of her mixed heritage. Lydair, the pack's healer lunged forward, claws raking at the earth as her long legs propelled her slender body forward, gaining speed as she rushed to the voice she ahd heard. Cal. Could it be Uskiya, the brown Varg's mate? It sounded urgent int he fae's ears, and now lines of worry creased her cobalt and white pelt. She slowed as she heard voices, head slightly tilted. Yelae and Cal, and a young, crisp yet weary voice that nipped her heart. Her maned neck extended and bobbed as she trotted forward, glancing to Cal worridly. "You called? What's wrong?" Her azure rosb were drawn to the cub; she had a balck and gray pelt, but blood was flowing down her ribs; gahses nearly revealed the bones and her muzzle, like her eye, looked battered. "Sita's sky." She breathed, astounded. "My dear, what happened/" She broke into a slow run to the cub and crouched beside her, wisodom and intelligence glinting in her young eyes. she may have only been slightly more than two years, but she was well-trained. 'I won't hurt you. I am Lydair, Ge-Rad's healer."

Cinder looked up gratefully at the healer. The cub had always thought of healers as being elders of the pack, but she could plainly see the wisdom burning like fire in this young medicine wolf's blue gaze.
Cinder struggled to find her voice when Lydair asked her what happened to her. She felt exhausted, and her vision was starting to swim.
"I ...was attacked by a bobcat," she whined. "He caught me for a while, but I managed to get away..."
Her words trailed off as her sight began to blur again. She felt suddenly cold, and trembled uncontrollably. The pain was terrible, and she was weak from blood loss. The world began to sway around her, and she became limp and unmoving on the ground.
"I'm dying..." she thought as she fainted.

"Tor's fangs!" the fae cried suddenly, her cyan orbs flaring. The cub, now collasped, was breathing quite shallow and her wounds were obviosuly infected. A bobcat. Sita's sky, who knows what sort of vile stuff the putnar had infected the cub with? She knew the how dangerous those claws could get, or that of any putnar, and she growled, long legs carrying her from one side to the other, pacing, as she trotted briskly, mind whirling and reeling as she tried her hardest to decide what to do. The black pelt of the cub was ruffled and stained with crimson; her body trembled although she had fallen. her name? Lydair growled again; it always seemed the Vargs she ahd been called to treat became unconcious before they managed to whimper out their titles to anyone close by. Sighing, the hybrid snifefd and nosed the little body, jerking her ehad up as a fierce wind snapped through ehr fur. immensely glad for the warmth her thick coat provided, lydair closed her eyes and sent a silent prayer to Tor and Fenris to protect one of their own.
Looking back, Lydair noticed again Yalae; she had anger and hate broiling in her heart and mind for the femme but she'd kill before letting such a cub die to the elements or wounds inflicted by a feline. "You- Yelae! And Cal!' She barked loudly, wheeling to face them completely. her tone grew commanding, although it wa snot haughty or bossy, and she struggled to keep a semi-calm composure. "I need you to help me. Cal, a bit of training for cub-watching- take her to a den, a cave, anywhere out of this wind!" She cried, whipping around to face Yelae. "I- I need you to come with me."

Cal just stood there staring at the cub that was still bleeding from the ribs, her tattered form still layed on the ground. Ears perked up as he soon heard sound of moving paws. Hoping that it was someone that has some authority he turned around. Relief swam over him as he found out that. Yellow orbs catching her cyan ones as she approached the trio. Seeing the worried glance on her face when she arrived, he merely stated, "We found a wounded cub just here, just calling for you to help the situation." Standing aside as the Ge-rad healer moved closer to the cub examining her. Giving her words of reassurance as she continued her examination. He listened intently at her story as the she-cub told them her she came into this state. Letting out a low growl as he thought of the putnar that attacked her. He had never come in conflict with one of those before, but in his mind he was able to pull an image in his head. Soon, he noticed Cinder's eyes coming out of focus, his thoughts were confirmed as the she collapsed into the ground. Immediately Lydair began to give him and Yelae instructions on what to do. Normally, Cal would have refused and would have gotten angry at her tone. But seeing the current situation he gave a small nod and came closer to the cub. Slowly he bit her on the scruff of the neck and lifted her lightly from the ground catching the nasty taste of the blood. Not caring on what Yelae and Lydair was going to do he setted out into the trees and going to find a den. He could only pray to Fenris that the cub would be alright. Draeg again would be understandable and let her stay until her injuries heal.
Finally approaching a nearby den he setted the cub gently and turned to see if Yelae or Lydair would come back with some useful herbs to help the cub

The Scout flinched slightly as the Healer began speaking to her. Expecting harsh words to rain down upon her, she heard just one, simple sentence. Lydair needed her help. Yelae blinks her bright eyes, taking a moment to register all that was happening.
This little cub was attacked by a bobcat, nasty devils. Oh Tor! Whatever has this cub gotten herself into. And suddenly Lydair was asking for her help...baffling indeed. However, she did not refuse. A small, "Okay," passes her lips as she rises, turning to look at Lydair, green-blue eyes flashing. Whether it was loathing, out of the fact that Lydair despised her, or confusment with the subject, one could never tell.
Perhaps we can become friends, she thinks silently to herself as she follows the Hybrid, Or at least lessen the tension...

Cinder's eyes fluttered open. Through blurry vision, she could see that she was in a den. How did I get here? she wondered to herself.
The cub peered out the den. She could sense the strange male standing over her, but the two femmes were gone.
"S-sir?" she said faintly. "Where... are the others? Are they going to get... the Dragga?"

Yellow orbs flickering around as Cal stared the surroundings in the den. This would be a good place for the young cub to rest. Looking down to find the unconscious form of the young cub he held a gaze of pity. Thinking back of the time when he had experienced such pains. Hopefully she would pull through, losing your life at such a young age would be a waste.
After some time he wondered when Lydair and Yelae would be back, Surely taking herbs wouldn't take that long? A small part of him was beginning to worry for the child. Suddenly, a small growl made his ears perked, the cub was beginning to shift slightly regaining consciousness. "Stay right where you are. You'll be fine. Lydair and Yelae just went to fetch some herbs for you. Then we might find the Dragga later and see what we have to do with you." growled Cal. Seeing the her worried eyes he gave a small chuckle and reassured her. "Don't worry, I am sure that Draeg is a very reasonable varg, he'll let you stay here. Hey kid, have you ever thought about joining a pack?" asked Cal. "Ge-rad is still a growing pack, and we would love it if you could join our ranks. Perhaps you might have to ask Draeg our Dragga for an occupation though." Now circling and examining the cub, he gave a small nod and sat on his haunches on the far corner of the den. Still waiting for the healer to return with some herbs to aid the young cub.

Something interesting seemed to catch the white males' scenses, as the great warrior scampered to. The morning had caught him off gaurd, as the flutering highness lingered through his chest cavity. It was good to be back in the boundries, good to see the fimiliar gold all around. Good to be with the one he loved, and the one he would care for as a sister.
But now, the pure white male's heavy footsteps flee on the leaf- covered ground, with heavy thuds. Stopping, Shako perked his ears, listining for any sounds. Indeed, he had heard voices, perhaps only one now. As he neared, Shako saw the fimiliar brown Varg looking at something in the den. It was Cal, and what appeared to be a young gray cub smothered with crimson.
Curiousity pounding, Shako neared the den, wondering what on Earth was going on. Now peering into the den, Shko could clearly see the severity of the wounds on the cub. "Cal, what happened to this one?" he asked, a worried look on his face. It looked as though the cub wasn't going to make it.
