Amber pools, with shadows of ebon at their center drew in the midday light. The stance of the young wolf was a proud, yet dejected one. His steel-hued coat was riddled with scars from various beatings, fights, and other events. The most prominent, the one running from his left sholder, across his chest, to the top of his right fore was almost starting to fade, but even so, not quite.
His body had the look of the beaten, in truth. Those who had been hurt so many times, so many ways, and never once been healed of these wounds, be they emotional or physical. Koan raised those amber orbs, staring about the Ge-rad packlands. New blood oozed from fresh wounds on his sun warmed flank, and he gave them a scornful glare, as if their pain was merely an annoyance. He lay down, and sighed, waiting for his body to take over, and begin to heal.
Some of the wounds, he doubted nature could ever restore. His heart, fragile as it had been, was once in the jaws of a fae. She had carried it gently, until her own fall, when she had, without intending, wounded his heart. Koan wasn't sure that it could be repaired, not after what had happened, but, he had to trust that time would scar that wound, jsut like it had his others.
He closed his eyes, and let his body shudder in relief of tension as he relaxed.

A femme padded softly through the boundaries of Ge-Rad; she carried her muzzle proudly although her thick tail hung, barely skimming the top of the autumn loam. Her orbs, a bright azure-cyan, sparkled happily and healthly as she trekekd through the forest. Lifting her head, his nares flared as she scented the tender air for a wave of one of her companions; Uskiya, perhaps, for she had been wanting to talk to the gray femme, or Shako, the white-pelted, amber-eyed warrior that made her heart leap excitedly.
But none of them were on the wind, although she found the scent of others, those she had yet to meet. She loved the anticipation of meeting new Varg; this fae was social and kind, and found friends easily. Her position of healer helped this; she had met several while either treating others or treating the Varg themselves. Her blue-black coat gleamed in the sun; her graceful head was carried low and her maw was open as her pink tongue lolled. Stifling a yawn, she continued on, her pace slowing or rising to match the terrain. Fenris must have been happy with her, for the god didn't scorch her; instead the amber rays rode the breeze and cooled and warmed her at the same moment. Lydair stopped suddenly, ears perking and her muzzle swung towards the west as a voice pricked in her kind; her orbs flashed an odd blue-green and she started downa small hill, wondering, head cocked, what she would find at the bottom.
One paw raised with uncertainty as she discovered what had made her mind bend awkwardly- a he-Varg, one of Ge-Rad. he had a proud air about him, and his body looked strong, for all the wounds and scars that riddled his dark gray form. As his eyes closed, she saw a sliver of amber and smiled gently but it dissolved into a frightened frown as he shuddered and became limp. Lydair whined softly as she approached the Varg, she looked over him silently and troted towards his head. "Good day to you, he-varg." The hybrid barked softly. "My name is Lydair; I'm Ge-Rad's healer...' Glancing back over his form, long limbs stepped tentively forward, although her cyan orbs held no fear, only kindness. "I can help you." she said softly, sitting back and letting her tail slide around her hindquarters.

A single amber orb opened, glancing up at the fae who had appeared. A smile appeared on his maw, and he gave a small laugh. There was less bitterness in it this time. She didn’t know, nor understand why he was like this. No one could help him. Koan felt beyond the help of any. His wounds, he knew would heal, leaving only the memory of pain, and the scars.
“Thank you for the offer, but I don’t belive that you can. I have no doubt that you know how to heal, but some wounds cannot be touched, save by Fenris, or by time.” Koan’s eyes were open now. She looked familiar…. With a sudden leap of his heart, he realized it was the fea that he had found himself drawn to before, in the meeting place. Koan had been planning on speaking to her, and now, she had found him wounded. He must appear so weak, collapsing as he had.
“Lydair…” he said quietly. “So that’s who you are.” He rose to his feet, his side screaming at him. Blood oozed freely from the wounds, but he ignored both pain and blood. He stood, shook lightly, and dipped his head to her. “Don’t waste your time with me, milady. I’m not worth healing.”

Lydair nodded her head; it hung sadly but she kept her azure gaze trained on the male. She had noticed him before, although Trile and Shako had been with her, as well as Uskiya, and her close friends had kept her attention from others. "I understand what you mean." she whispered quietly, averting her gaze from the steely wolf. "Who did you lose..?" She stood up, tail slowly swinging, and leaned forward to sniff his muzzle. "You're Koan- yes?" Lydair barked. Her small, rounded ears flicked; she knew him to be Draeg's son.
"Those wounds not of the heart and mind," she said, voice beautiful and wispy in the autumn air, "Those I can heal. The pain will fade; the scars may last but I wouldn't want someone like you losing strength." Her voice was bolder, more confident, and she delicately sniffed Koan's side, lips crinkling as she eyed the blood that still ran slowly from the gash. The hybrid stepped backwards, ears pinning against her blue-black cranium as he stood and spoke to her. The auds swiveled foreward to catch his voice; her lithe paws side-stepped and she smiled at the Varg, somewhat wryly. "There is no time wasted around you, Koan." Lydair said softly, gazing at him and cyan orbs gleaming. "And all Vargs deserve, need, healing. Let me help you."

"Who did I lose? Someone...very dear to me." he said, quietly. His amber orbs watched her with amusement. He was different then he had been before, far different then the gentle soul he had been. Koan had wandered the lands alone, barely out of cubhood, while his father had trysts with a pair of fae that he had little love for. He had battled others, and won some, lost others. The cub he had been was truely gone now, crushed by the final loss of his dearest friend. "Her name was Huts." he said quietly.
As she spoke of all wolves deserving healing, he couldn't help himself, he gave a bright smile. "Ah. You feel that one like myself is worth healing?" he said, his brows raising in jest. "But why spend time here when I know of a certain wolf who watches you with eager eyes? This was his father's pack before; perhaps you should be healing his heart?" The phrase was gentle, ment to highlight the feelings that obviously flowed between her and the other, Shako, Koan belived his name was. He gave a deep sigh, and sat back onto his haunches. "Fine, if you're going to insist, milady, then I won't fight with you about it anymore."
(blarg... rushed, sorry)

"I am sorry for your loss, Koan." Lydair spoke quietly, crouching. her long limbs tucked beneath her slender form, and she gazed up at Koan. Her eyes clouded in confusion and her head cocked as he suddenly gave her a bright smile. "Yes, " she began. "I-" She suddenly realized what Koan was talking about. "I know nothing of Shako's father." she spoke began gritted teeth, and almost blutnly. Looking away, her eyes dimmed with sadness and her tapered muzzle hung. "No more." she said softly, barely audible. "Never again will here, I assure you. He has found another, a new member of Ge-Rad- one he has known for longer than he has me. I am forgotten, lost in the darkest corners of his mind." Lydair slumped downwards, her usual bright and chipper nature suddenly torn, shredded by confusion. "how could she..?" She grolwed suddenly, head snapping up. She had yet to know the true feelings in Shako's heart, but she had seent he way he had looked at the white fae, and it burdened her greatly.
"Yes, I am insisting." Her voice rose firmly, and she stood, trying her hardest to foget her own troubles and work with his. "Draeg would be none too pleased if he found his son was wonderign around, bleeding." Her long, thick tassle flicked, and she was quiet once more, brooding in her mind, but trying to concentrate on Koan. "Would you rather stay here or accompany me?" Lydair spoke finally, looking into his amber orbs.

A chill ran though the young wolf as her sea-hued eyes met his own. Koan had not felt a shock like this in a while... since he was a cub, the first time he'd met Huts' eyes. He shook off that thought. He was not ready to begin looking for a new mate yet. "It would be my pleasure to accompany you, milady."

(((Sorry for the crapiness. I'm kinda bummed about stuff right now; my posts aren't that great today. I'm tired, too, lol.)))
Lydair dipped her head in agreement and her tail swished to curl around her hindquarters. "Good." she smiled, eyes sparkling as her cranium turned to stare ahead of her. "Ge-Rad's meadow would be a good place to start." she barked absentmindedly. She pressed against his darked-hued sides and nudged him gently, swinging to face him. "Come on, then." she barked, tail wagging as she padded forward. Now was the time to forget, to stop dwelling on Vargs of the past, look to furutre, look to her job.
It was not in her personality to believe a Varg had truly fallen for her; Shako was handsome and kind, but the fae Yalae was in his mind now. She frowned and sighed, shaking her graceful head as she danced over the leaves and loam, stopping only to cast Koan a friendly grin over shoulder as she encouraged him to follow her.
(((Um- go to my post 'The Meadow'. I'm going to make it now...)))
