A new day dawned for Deor, as Fenris’ presence in the heavens acted as a beacon of awakening to the many creatures that inhabited the land. His warmth lapped at the ground and left remnants of heat in his wake. The light of a new day crept into every nook and cranny of the terra, and Deor was no exception to this universal law. It was time for the wolves of Deor to greet the coming day, and the first to do so would be a cream pup. His golden optics glittered from within the safety of the dens, as they looked on into the world that waited. His limbs felt light from the rest he had obtained, and Ryu was careful not to disturb any of the other inhabitance of the den as he stretched a bit. He had slept by his mother’s side, bathed in the love of her warmth; it was a wonderful rest period. But now he was ready for adventure, ready to take on the day and all the surprises that lay in store.
Glancing around the warm yet partially lit den, Ryu looked around to see if others were up with the sun. His mother and father, Mist and Chayton were still deep in the realm of dreams. Perhaps still exausted from the duties that entailed the care of cubs and other pack responsibilities that little Ryu simply couldn’t fathom. Then there were his sisters, who like their parents were still asleep. A gentle whine escaped little Ryu’s maw, for he wanted to play, but no one was up to accompany the Deorian. The closest sister to Ryu was Delilah, and so he decided to wake her. Quietly, Ryu moved towards the sleeping cub and licked her face several times with his small salmon colored tongue. “Wake up sis.” Ryu whispered to her, being careful to keep his voice down so others wouldn’t wake. “The sun is up, it’s time to play.” Ryu insisted, poking Delilah gently with his nose so that she would wake.

The winds raced across the open field, tugging playfully at the long blades of grass and combing gingerly through the ebony pup's short coat. A hazy rainbow of colours reflected dully up in the sky, mist seeming to cover it , giving the rainbow an almost glassy look. The light given off from the blazing sun warmed the faemme pup greatly as she trotted, tiny tassel held high, across the free space. Freedom soared though her veins, bring with it the feeling of a strange high. It was different to be free, without anyone to boss her around or care for her. Here, she was alone, and the slight breeze was more welcoming then the stillness that clung to Deor. Breaking into a run, she loped gracefully through the tall grass, her little paws creating reverberating thuds against the soft earth.
Rustling leaves and the hushed snap of a twig soothed her ebony ears, announcing the arrival of another. Skidding to a stop and turning around, she prepared to greet whom ever was coming. Her ebony tassel began to wag as she scented the air, for this was one whom she'd never met before. Perhaps it was one of her mother's friends. Or perhaps it was another member of Deor that she had yet to meet. But it had no scent of that of a Deorian; it was a different smell altogether. One that neither members of her pack nor any kerls that she'd came across had-- not that she'd met many. In fact, she had only met two, but each of them had almost the same vacant scent, like loneliness or independence.
Confusion spread across her puppy face and she cocked her head the side. If it wasn't a kerl, then who was it? Studying the edge of the trees where she'd heard the sound, she concentrated intently, till finally, the wolf emerged and--
* * *
Licks across her face awake her, disrupting her dream. A voice, muffed from her sleeping state, reached her ears, but she could not comprehend the words. Gentle probing followed next. Slightly annoyed, Delilah murmured softly, "What do you want? You disturbed my dream."Icy-blue orbs opened wide, searching for the someone who had arisen her from her slumber. Her eyes found her only brother, for the others where still sound asleep. Eyes wandering around the den, she noticed that Fenris' light had lit up the den slightly. So not to wake the others, she whispered quietly, "Morning already?"//Yay, I posted and I did another long one.//

With the awakening of his sister Delilah successful, the ivory Deorian’s morning could at last begin. In the golden orbs of a cub, there was only fun to be had, and Ryu wanted to get the fun initiated as soon as possible. Ryu didn’t know it, but he was actually quite the morning wolf. Full of energy that needed to be expunged through constant play and various other day to day activities. This was a wonderful feature about the Deorian, for while others slept under the weight fatigue; Ryu was up with the sun and the flying putnar, a warrior’s trait. “Yes sis it is.” Ryu whispered back, as he bounced on his paws due to all the stored up energy just waiting to be unleashed onto what ever game or activity that lay just around the corner. “Let’s sneak out and play, before mom and dad wake up and make us do boring stuff.” It wasn’t uncommon for Mist to take amble amounts of time to groom her offspring. And as much as Ryu begged his father to teach him the ways of the guard, his response would always be the same.
“One day I’ll be old enough father.” Ryu spoke silently in his thoughts. His golden gaze left Delilah for a few moments, to find Chayton, sleeping peacefully within the safety of the den, keeping his daughters warm. Perhaps the sleeping guard knew not how much his son adored and idolized him. One day, Ryu would prove himself to his father, and the warmth of Chayton’s gaze, proud and elated for his son, will bathe Ryu in the sea of accomplishment and praise. But that was far in the future, and time for games and fun was of the here and now. He turned his gaze back on Delilah, and gently prodded her a few more times with his cold wet nose, in order to assure that his sister would rise. “This way.” Ryu whispered, and motioned with a movement of his head toward the entrance of the den. Quietly, and carefully as to not make a sound, Ryu eased his way to the entrance. Fenris’ light lapped at Ryu’s ivory fur who he had inherited from his father no doubt, and bathed the pelt in a cool golden glow. There, he waited for Delilah to follow.

The young Deorian pup blinked the sleep from her drooping eyes and stared unseeingly at the light from Fenris that had pushed its way into the welcoming den. Although she wanted to sleep just a bit longer, she know that morning was already here and it was time to wake up and see to the day. But the tiny cub also told herself that she must get up because she did not want to disappoint her brother. And the ivory cub, Ryu, who she was closest to out of all her siblings, did have a point. When Mother and Father awoke, the cubs would be tortured into doing "boring stuff" as Ryu had said and Delilah just wasn't up for that. The energetic pup would rather play and romp around with her brother through out the whole day, from sun up to sun down, then have to sit through a licking.
When her brother probed her another time with his nose, Delilah hissed, gritting her teeth, "I'm getting up, okay?" Rising to her paws, the ebony cub stretched out each of her limbs in turn and yawned hugely, her pink tongue lolling out of her tiny open maw. Delilah then shook herself to rid her coat of any specks of dirt or dust that may have accumulated on her while sleeping and stifled another yawn. With the young pup's personality animated and lively, she was often tired after the long days. Although, once she had been up running about with her brother, the drowsiness would begin to fade. "Fine Ryu, we can go play if you want," she whispered, her voice hushed and low. "But we better not get in trouble for sneaking out of the den while they're sleeping."
Delilah yawned again, and then shook her head to try to get the sleepiness out of her body, but followed her brother out of the den nonetheless. The bright light of Fenris glowed low in the sky and Delilah's eyes narrowed to avoided the sudden brightness. Spotting her brother, she bounded after him, stumbling slightly on her puppy-like paws but regaining her balance before a fall. "So, what do you wanna play?" she asked excitedly, the energy returning to her, flowing thick in her veins. Cold icy-blue orbs, sparkling in the light of the sun, watched her brother.
//meh, it is a bit choppy, sorry//

The weather promised the two Deorian pups much pleasantries and splendor. Deor’s very landscape was returning to the lush green spring time flavor that the wolves loved so much. With the return of the warm season came the return of all life within the forest. As Ryu watched his sister emerge from the den, an example of such life had decided to make its presence known. About fifty yards from where Ryu and Delilah now stood, a rabbit had wandered out into the open. Such a careless mistake would normally have been the death of the creature, had there been adult, hungry wolves present. But because only two cubs were in the vicinity, the rabbit did not feel threatened and so found fit the opportunity to gather food. At the sight of the rabbit, Ryu’s golden optics lit up with delight. Delilah only moments ago had questioned onto the game in which they would play, and now the answer as if on cue, hopped into view, so to speak.
“Delilah, look behind you.” Ryu whispered to his sister, and made a gesture that indicated to his sister to do as he requested. Keeping his eyes on the target, rather then Delilah, Ryu continued with quiet lyrics. “Who ever catches it first, wins. But that’s not the real point. Think of how proud mom and dad will be if we bring them a meal right before they even woke up.” Ryu recalled a moment where he had spent time alone with his mother, and a similar situation unfolded. The ivory cub had tried to catch a mouse, in hopes of making his mom proud. But the result ended in failure, and now was the perfect time to make up for it. “I need your help sis; we can do it if we work together. What do you say?” The ivory pup was now filled to the brim with energy, his tail wagging; Ryu was nearly bouncing up and down on his paws. A decision would have to be made soon, for it looked as if the creature in question would leave soon if nothing was done.

(( Gosh, I feel so horrible. I forgot that I had a thread with Delilah. Sorry about that. I'll make up for it by posting quickly next time.))
The same energy flowed through Delilah as she listened to her ivory brother speak. Yes, this was a great idea! Mom and Dad would have a meal right when they woke up! And they would be so proud of Delilah and her brother Ryu for catching it for them. Ryu was truly brilliant! Happiness at the thought of that pride surged through the young pup and she nodded to her brother, fulling agreeing that this was, indeed, an excellent plan. She could just imagine the look on their faces when they saw that her and her brother had catch. A rabbit! A whole rabbit! Just the two of them! Boy would they be proud!
Again, Delilah nodded her ebony head eagerly. As quiet as a mouse, she shifted herself, moving over so she stood by Ryu's side, facing the rabbit that he had spotted. It hadn't noticed them; it was busying itself by looking for food. Excellent! Delilah thought with her own ting of pride. With the help of her brother, they would be able to catch this creature. Lowering her voice so it was just a whisper, she said, "Okay, good, it is unaware of us. This should be easy then, right Ryu?" Now, as Delilah thought about it, she wondered if it would work. She had never tried to catch a mouse or a rabbit before and was clueless about what to do. But she wanted to win this game, wanted to impress her parents, so she kept he mouth shut, not saying anymore.
However, her silence did not last and nervously, she motioned for Ryu to proceed and said, "Why don't you start this game, brother. You take the first try. If you catch it the first time, Mother and Father will be proud of you!" She grinned slightly at Ryu, then turned her attention back to the rabbit.
