[glow=purple,9,000]The day had come. Dawn was sending it's vibrant rays across the vallies and forests of List, allowing light into the canopys and into the deths of dens. It shone upon the clearing where meetings were held, and upon the boulder whose nose pointed toward the lightening heavens. A shadow stood proudly upon the top, the gushes of summer time winds mixing with that of spring's vanishing vapors. Summer would soon be upon them, and Fiory's children were still not fit to be adults quite yet. Their first birthday would be here, in the winter of this year, and Fiory was keen on starting a test she had long been collecting herself about. With her agile crania high, and her snout pointed vertical, a howl of great importance lifted from her ebony maw and soared into the skyline. It hung for a moment, in it's own mysterious way before plummetting down with a passing gust of wind and spreading throughout the territory, into the ears of the frightened lera awaking from their night time slumbers, and into the den of List, where Fiory's children lay (more then likely) sleeping. It was time for her test, and it was time for her children to begin their training....
((cruddy post, I know, but at least you get the point across, and besides, they'll be better when others come....-.-' I just don't know how to start this thing off correctly, or as long like I usually would...forgive meh..))[/glow]

The bolder Denisha sat up in the den, blinking sleep from her soft gold eyes and shaking her crania. It was almost to cold to sleep in the dens as summer began and the world beneath the Earth began to cool down. Denisha fluffed out her thickening pelt as she hunched her head over her protruding shoulder blades so as not to bump her head against the pact dirt of the ceiling. Shatila, Orion, and herself were almost the size of large dogs, Orion as the biggest, than Shatila, and than Denisha. Shatila and Orion were always shifting in rank, and neither of them would back down so that the scrabbles would go on for suns before someone won, and than another always started. Denisha would join in sometimes, but she always submitted and bowed out soon after. She was gentle like their Mother, though she did not have as much of her dominance and pride than she might of. Shatila had the slender, agile form of Fiory also, but her features were sharp like Bristol’s whereas Orion was a young Bristol and Denisha was a young Fiory. When Bristol and Fiory died and Gryffin and Sudak took their places the two eldest of the three would make perfect Beta’s, but Denisha would remain the gamma of the pack with only a little self esteem.
She turned to the patch of Fenris that had seeped through the hole of the den and lay down on her belly, crawling forward on the cool, moist dirt floor. The air was fresh in the den, but outside it was warm and close as Fenris’s strength grew each day in the heavens. Denisha poked her nose out of the hole and took in the summer air. She caught the overpowering and pleasant aroma of the pines, and the faint scents of Lera and other plants, but rain was hinted on a southerly breeze, and she poked her head out, looking at the large conifers that blocked her view of the southern sky. She tasted the air, looking good natured and feeling light hearted as she made a song in her head.
The clear day sings with the song of the birds, As the voice of a pack goes out carrying a thousand words. Fenris shines high in the sky while the weather is fair, But hurry to shelter for rain’s in the air.
Denisha stared into the southern trees for a moment, repeating the words in her head a few times before staring around the clearing. The back of her Mother was to her, but she smiled softly, her eyes glowing with love. This was the figure she most admired and wished to live up too, and her whole being seemed to sigh as protection ensnared her in a grasp full of her Mother’s scent. She would never be harmed and never be alone when her wise, kind, caring Mother was their. Denisha let herself be swamped in the feeling and everything fell into sharper view as her thoughts left her head and she turned to her instinct. Denisha’s instinct gave her insight, and she strangely yet naturally knew her Mother wanted her children. Denisha held very still, watching the elegant Drappa for a moment as a solitary lark chirped from somewhere high in the air, and than she began to edge back into the den, turning around to face her sleeping siblings. “Shatila, Orion,” she growled softly but urgently, her golden eyes lighting in the dim of the den. “Mother wants us. Denisha than glanced shyly at Novex, who she still did not know.

Novex shifted positions in the cool earth den with his back to the others and blinked. The young black-phase was awake, but would not stir as he replayed the dream through his thoughts. It had been a good dream but had ended rather unpleasant, and he had been thinking for sometime now how different it could have ended. For one, he may not be here or met anyone from this pack. It's not like I really know anyone here though. I may share their den but I hardly know what they are like. For the past few days, he had been procrastinating and waiting for a perfect opportunity to actually meet the pups here. He knew their names of course but didn't even play in their gambols for a higher rank. There were several times when he could have started a game but other things had been on his mind, and so he had decided against it.
Novex's ears flicked behind him as he heard the shifting of dirt as someone made their way back into the den. The scent of Denisha then became present. He could hear her waking up her brother and sister, and when Novex did not hear his name mentioned he just lay where he was for a moment, then rose to a sitting position and turned to face Denisha.
"Hello Denisha," He dipped his head for a moment, and grinned. "What are you guys doin?" This was very nearly the most words he had ever said to any of the pups, and surprised himself in the process as the words merely poured from his muzzle.

Denisha started at Novex’s voice and turned to face him almost guiltily, looking at the ground bashfully. The new cub barely spoke up at all, and so she had quietly kept out of his way because she wasn’t sure what he was like, and very shy. Denisha studied the ground a moment longer. “I-I was just telling Sh-shatila and Or-Orion that Mother w-wanted us,” she growled timidly and than went silent as the awkwardness seeped between the two black cubs. She had just learned how to talk to her family, and Novex was a stranger to her. She desperately wanted to get away into the fresh air, but she felt bad for him too, but not as bad as she felt for herself for being so unfriendly and shy. “Well I better go to her, she’s in the clearing,” she murmured and than turned quickly to climb up the hole
Fresh air greeted her and nearly swept away her embarrassment, and as she slunk from the den and rose to her full height she shook her big, bushy ears on top of her delicate head than looked with love at the form of her sleek Mother. Softly Denisha padded forward and sat beside the gentle Drappa and was silent. She loved these moments best when she good enjoy the cool moments without words with Fiory when her siblings were not awake and on the prowl. “I made up a new song, Mother,” she growled, looking up at the ebon Drappa.
