[glow=blue,2,300]Orion started at all the new arrivals. He hadn't really ment for the whole pack to come and see; nay he'd ment simply for his family to come. He was simply calling them to chat, not cause he had anything to say.
"Umm. Well, no, not really. I'm just sorta wanting to talk." [/glow]

(ooc. Sudak, yup, I was, leading the Balkar ) Tamra's attention was drawn to the larger of the two males present, his curiosity peaked as he tried to recollect the name and rank of the white varg. His brow furrowed as his striking deep green eyes seemingly pried it from the muscular frame, yet no name would come to his addled mind. He knew he was well liked, and held influence over the doings of the packs, but his concentration was broken as Gryffin, a name he could never forget bounded towards him, yipping and nuzzling.
Taken aback slightly by the sudden display of affection, Tamra was momentarily at a loss for words. It had been an age since he'd last been approached so cheerfully, and was unsure how best to respond to such obvious merriment. He responded by awkwardly nuzzling back, hoping against hope that it would both suffice, and display his own fond affection.
Biting back a laugh as she sat back, ruffling out her coat and poising her tri coloured head, he snuck a furtive glance at the others in the clearing. He was still struggling to identify the other, younger wolves, but once again, Gryffin's voice commanded his attention instead.
He blinked at first, unable to keep up with the rapid pace of conversation. Her question about her family rolled over his flanks, clawing at him till he could grasp a legeable answer.
"Father?" His brow furrowed as his mind caught up. "Ah! Leohlic! He was very well last I saw him. Still the scourge of the Balkar Borders it would seem. And I fear I've heard no word on your brothers. They may roam in the Nighthunters land, but there was no time to ask after their health while I spoke with Leohlic." His memory drifted back to when he'd taking his brother to meet the First of the Balkar. A small smile played across his maw as he recalled the terror Tren had faced, meeting the legendary Leohlic in the flesh.
Gryffin's attention was then diverted to the rest of her pack, introducing him to the white male. Sudak. Relief flooded his mind. Ofcourse he knew of Sudak. The mention of his name was like the opening of a door, and in his minds eye he could see the white male sparring with one from Deor when List and the Balkar had joined forces. But those days were long ago. Bila had been alive then...
Shaking his head, he blinked owlishly at Gryffin's latest question. He realised, foolishly, that he had no logical reason to be here, other than desiring friendly and amiable company. His maw parted to speak, though sound took several seconds to follow, and even then it was tentative and not its normal commanding self.
"I...I...came to see how List was faring. I have seen little and heard less of your doings since the battle against Deor and Ge-rad." It was a satisfactory, if not political answer.
The sublimal offer to stay in List warmed his chilled heart, but it was not hers to give, and so, like the latter question, his response was carefully designed to neither deny, nor confrim his feeling or intention.
"I travel through many lands these days, Gryff, and only Tor knows how long I stay in each."

Sudak smiled as he saw the rememberence in Tamra's eyes. He knew he'd remember him. Sudak strolled up next to Gryffin and gave her budge, trying to slow her questioning down. Tamra looked like he was getting overwhelmed. He looked over to Gryff at the same time and then back up to Tamra only to smile once again.
"It is great to see you again Tamra. It has been a while, and I can see that Gryff is glad to see you. I'm sure Fiory would love to see you once again. So much has changed since we last saw you."
Sudak had somewhat of a sorrowful look in his eyes after that but seemed to shake away the thoughts that dwelt in his mind. He returned to Tamra awaiting his reply

[glow=violet,3,000]The warm spring sun beat down on her black pelt as the thick hairs mingled with her Mothers smooth black pelt made thick by the cold weather of the mountains. She breathed in the scent of her Mother, of List, and of the heat that rose from the ground. The green needles sticking from the spruces layered the clearing in the sweet, green smell edged with the aroma of brand new pine cones. The twitter of birds dancing on the shaded branches played pleasantly against her large, bushy ears and mingled with the bold screech from an eagle flying high up in the blue sky before it flew proudly out of earshot. A large flock of crows passed overhead cawing raucously, and Denisha was sure they were going to feast on some dead animal. Her mind buzzed busily as she let herself fall into meditating state of mind, her brown eyes closed peacefully. The growls and whimpers of her pack mates hummed inaudibly at the back of her head, and every once in a while an ear would flick backwards. The immediate voice of Sudak made her eyelids flicker open, and she looked down from the rock at him with her wide, wary eyes that never seemed to put aside the fear of pain.
Denisha was cursed with her fear, and she knew it but was to afraid to think of where the curse would go so she always tried to divert her thoughts from that terrible truth, and it worked well. But it did nothing for her wellbeing and every day of her life she was jumpy and scared; scared of physical pain, scared that her home would be invaded and killed. When Bila lead her pack to war many moons ago she had unconsciously left a deep mark on her young niece, because as she sat in the darkness of the den snuggled to her mother’s chest she repeated those well meant words over and over. “We must drive Koran from their home so that we may eat and live, and we must be aware that they will wipe us out either now or in the future! We must fight for our pack, and for my beloved sister and your good pack mate’s cubs!” She had thought long and hard over Bila’s strong words, and she had come to think that Denisha and her older siblings were the cause of this war and that her family would be hurt very badly and so would she. Pain. She had never thought much of it before but when her pack mates came home defeated and some wounded she had watched their whimpers as Fiory and Bila tended to them, and she had seen their muscles contract in pain and their eyes suffer as the blood slowly dribbled to the ground. She never wanted to see them hurt again and she never wanted to suffer that pain. She had been trying so long to stop herself from doing anything that would cause her to scar and she now did it without telling herself too. The cub, with her puppy fat slowly leaving her, her body slowly begin to slender out, she would be a perfect List she-wolf some day, but not now, not when she was so disturbed. Denisha needed help desperately for she was not the gentle, loving cub when she was so pitiful with fright.
She smiled softly at Sudak, her ears pointing backwards as she wagged her skinny tail in a subdued way. As delicately as always she placed out a small paw and patted him playfully on the head, her eyes lit in with timid delight and amusement. But Denisha didn’t want to rough house, and she tucked her paw neatly under her again still smiling softly. “I don’t think I can catch you,” she growled. “You’re much too fast for me.” And than she leaned her head against her Mother contentedly, her head moving up and down the same time as her mothers side rose.
Tamra came so suddenly that for a moment she didn’t know what was happening and the large male made her yelp in fright as she hid herself, trembling wildly. She knew who it was, but she was very afraid. [/glow]

The deep green wisened eyes displayed mild perplexity for the briefest of moments, as if some hidden thought was determined to make itself heard. As the image was dredged from the recesses of memory, a coy and slight smile appeared on the scarred and battered maw, indicating that the aging wolf was still quick to notice the subtlties of affection.
"Indeed it has been a while Sudak. Some might argue too long." His gaze was drawn to Fiory as a strangled yelp reached his ears. A small cub stood hidden behind the firm support of her mother, staring wide eyed at his large blackened frame. Sorrow seemed to fill his expression, but the indifferent and callous mask quickly slipt firmly back into place. Averting his eyes from the youths apparent terror, he instead rested them on the image of Gryff and Sudak, eye arching intriguingly at the esteemable closeness that had developed between them.
"I can see quite clearly that much has changed." He replied, not caring whether his intrigue was disguised or not now. Tamra had long since acquited the trial of the heart, but birdsong on the wind had already forewarned him of a union that might interest him. Still, it was not his place to throw it into the open. He would allow them the pleasure of announcing.
"While we wait for your Drappa's blessing, perhaps you would be so kind as to enlighten me?" Steeling his countenance to one of warmth and welcome, he offered his belegerent smile to Gryff in an open invitation of conversation.
