[glow=purple,9,000]The spring had finally come upon the land of List. Creatures began to stir again, the snow released it's icey grip upon the land finally, and the sun warmed the air and earth in a welcoming fashion. Upon a clear sunny day where Fenris was high in the sky, warming what was left of the frozen world below a howl would reach out.
Through the trees it rang, bounding off the tips with ease. Leaping across the mountain's surfaces and ricocqueting (spell?) towar the ground swiftly. The breezes carried it throughout List's boundries. Flying putnar took wing to it's call adding to it's melodious nature with their own screeches and their own calls. A stray breeze billowed above the tree line a while, catching the howl upon a stronger wind and shifting direction through the trees. It carried the howl through the sicamore and through the scrub, across the pack of List den and through the auditories of all the new and old pack members, the family of List. A moment it stayed in the area before it returned to flight, zipping through the trees and rustling their branches. Fur stood on end on the backs of squirrels and chipmunks as it passed, feathers were ruffled when it twirled high enough until at last it came to it's destination.
Where the trees began to lighten, not far from the pack dens, was a small clearing. A boulder sat in the middle of the open space, lightly dabbed with the leftover snow in it's shadow. The grass below the large rock structure sprouted a few suns ago, and now was green and lively. Through the grass the breeze traveled, cutting sharply up the boulder face to the howl's owner. The breeze raked through the raven black fur of the Drappa, though she did not move, nor stir.
Fiory's head was high in the air, allowing that breeze to take over her body's movement. Ebony fur wafted in it's wake, her tail held high and her ears erect listening to the echoes of her call. Golden hues were closed behind their raven black lids, and slowly the Star Gazer Drappa lowered her proud head from the skies. Her aerodinamic structure stood proud upon that boulder, looking out toward her pack's den site, knowing the breeze had come from that way. Soon, her pack would come to her call, for she held good news in her maw for all of them. It was a season of celebration, a season of renewal and rebirth. It was the season of love again, and it was the season for good news in the wake of the recently bad. From atop her perch, Fiory could easily see the weeping willow tree that not long ago she had placed her dearest love beneath it to rest for eternity. Her sister's memory still hung heavy in they young mother's head, though she tried to think positively about it all.
Bila was at peace with the gods and with the land now. There was no more need for sorrow. She was soaring upon wings of velvet feathers through the clouds, Shatocwnn at her right, and Bristol at her left. She slept beneath Tor's lights, and played beneath Fenris's sun. A smile crept upon the Star Gazer's raven maw and a sigh escaped her thin maw. It was good to dwell upon a thought like that, and not of a thought of death. With happy memories in her mind, and news to be shared, Fiory would wait patiently and proudly upon that rock. Never stirring, never shifting, waiting for eternity if she must for her pack to join her in the celebration she would bring.....[/glow]

*Aloft a cooling breeze came the proud call of her Drappa, her friend...a good varg. Silvery auds tinged by an odd colouration of icy blue perked erect as a long, slim head turned and looked to the skies, long stilt like legs coming to a halt as a lean figure swayed to get balance, feathery tail flickering in thought. Fiory was calling to them, the Drappa called to her pack to come - news was where she stood and it was something to be shared with all. A grin spread across Lyft's silvery maw and she growled deeply in anticipation - what could this news be? Something of good will she had hoped - for the call was urgent, but not desperate and pained.
With a sudden jolt of her hind legs the agile faemme burst into a spurt of speed and was sent through the forest's undergrowth at a swift rate, her form flying over fallen sapplings and other vegetation - needless leaps that were only done for the pure joy of it. She loved to run, it was her nature for that was why she was born - to run and hunt with the wild wolf...as she was. It took little time for the silvery white she-wolf to enter the clearing, and slowing to a halt before Fiory she nodded in greeting and to show her respect. Panting lightly she smiled lightly before stepping forward and taking a seat by the side of the Star-Gazer's boulder. Looking up at Fiory's golden auds she growled lightly.
So what is this news you speak of ma'am? *

A lump of blurred fur lay. The heap slowly rising up and down with every breath it took. THe sun was already high in the sky as a meadow lark fluttered past chirping, its bright yellow throat bloated as it sung. The heap rustled turning over to reveal a slender snout and two pointing shell like shapes at the top. The ball of fur rolled over again and this time the form was clear. It was a young wolf as she lay there half asleep in the midst of the den. The wolf smacked her lips genlty raising her head and giving a long stretch. Today she was able to sleep in a bit longer since she did not have training with Lyft that morning.
Gryffin rised to her feet but taking on a sitting stance. She looekd around her eyes still a bit bluring as she yawned once more. She could just make out the other shapes of wolves in the List den, refusing to wake up at the sight of dawn. On nimble toes Gryff began to pad quietly and slowly to the entrance. The sun pelted bright rays reflecting off into her pupils makign her squint. Gryffin growled to herlself as she stepped out onto the dry ground. Snow had all melted, except of course a few pile or too rooted here and there. The feelign of dry dead vegetation was quite a weird feeling, especially such a long time spent trying to keep all four paws out of the cold depths of snow. Gryffin began to walk to the nearest soucre of water, which was a small runnign creek.
When she got there she took in her fill with great sips before lickign her ebon lips and started to walk when a howl, so loud and so clear echoed into the caverns of her auds. Gryffin stopped head lifting and ears erect. Tassel twitched to and fro as she pondered about the song. It was made by her Drappa. Could it be somthing about the pups? Gryffin worried for a second there, but the song did not sound like it was an emergency.
But nonetheless Gryffin took off into a bursting speed, tearing through the regrowing forests and banking around a small knole. THe tri coloured she wolf lifted her own muzzle, sending out her own melodious call to reply to the ebony drappa as she made her way towards the clearing. On fast paws she skidded sliding to a stop a few meters away from two wolves. One Fiory and the other Lyft. Gryffin barked, tail high and wagging as she approached them and greeted them with ecstatic barks and yips. nuzzlign both faes. Gryffin then turned to Fiory, she did not see the pups here so Gryff presumed they were still asleep in the den. "Fiory what is the matter? " Gryffin spoke, though she knew not every call was somthing bad but it almost came routine to ask the same line.

[glow=blue,9,000]Deep within the caverns of the den site, in a pile of last years dirt leaves and soft dead grasses, lay the black son of the Drappa. His hues were sheilded by his ebony lids, and his form was stretched out fairly comfortably, his sisters at his sides. Sharp erect ears flicked a moment, the distant calling of a bird outside catching his sleeping auds attention. More noises came to his tired auditories, those of rustling feet and yawns. The morning sounds of waking vargs. His lids squished tighter around his hues, and the male gave a soft half silent groan.
"Just five more minutes mum..." He whispered, turning over upon his back and stretching out. But the sounds of the waking vargs had clearly woken him aswell. Try as he might to go back to bed, Orion's hues would stay locked no longer. Flickering open, his eyes blurred the inside of the den before clearing with Fenris's glowing lights. Almost weakly, he rose upon his strong legs, standing up and plodding out. His paws crunched against the last fall's dead leaves, used in the winter for insilation (sp?) from the bitter cold. The sun was high, and Gryffin was already gone from the den, as well as Lyft and his mother. Where had they gone to he wondered, stepping out into the bright light and showing the world his grown form.
Orion was still a cub at any rate, but he was showing the signs of a strong adult now. His limbs steadily were getting longer, as well as his length too. His neck fur was thicker and muscles were beginning to ripple beneath his raven black fur. Featherings once a tinged blue upon the backs of his paws now stood out as a soft azure color in the new light. A stripe each upon the backs of his ears the same saphire as his featherings below, a single stripe running cleaning and thinly down his muzzle from the stop between his eyes. His long ebony tail wagged gently, and blinkingly he stepped further into the sun. No longer were his eyes the puppyish blue that had clung to them in his newborn stages of life. Now, a vibrant yellow gold stuck out against his raven black pelt. He had his mother's mysterious and beautiful yellow eyes.
A yawn escaped his closed maw, showing off small ivory fangs and teeth within his cavern, when he heard his mother's call. Ears flicked and his head tilted. News? What news? Without waiting for his sisters to catch up, Orion sprang away, tail high in the air as he sprinted to his mother's calling. Over brush and bramble, over fallen logs and ditches along the way. The rustle of the brush before the clearing was the last thing heard, before Orion's growing form leapt into sight of Gryffin, Lyft and his mother, Fiory. Tassel swishing lightly behind him, the adolescent male strutted foreward, stumbling a bit on an unseen rock. Clearly, Orion was still a cub, even though his form was beginning to take the shape of an adult.[/glow]

Sudak slowly let the light emerge to his icy blue eyes as the fenris' orb shown its rays throughout the List den. He sat there for a minute but then realized that half the pack was gone. Fiory, Lyft, Gryffin and one of the cubs as well, Orion. Now he knew Orion had a habit of running off without telling anybody, so this came to no surprise to him but he was usually stil worried about the cub when he was alone. It seemed however that he may as well be with Fiory, Gryff or Lyft.
Sudak shook the thought from his mind and crawled forward letting his back legs stretch as he moved along. He then stood on his back and pushed his chest to the ground, stretching his front. While he was stretching he let out a long yawn and his tongue lay stretched with is maw wide open, eyes tightly shut.
He then heard a voice among the tree-tops that reached its way into the den. Fiory's voice came to him this time. Lone, high, and mysterious, but this time it was not anger or misery, but happiness and joy. Sudak stood up all the way now and let out a smile across his maw. Sudak blinked for a second but then to see Orion jumping and running playfully towards the howl. Sudak turned at once and gave each of the cubs a lick on their forehead to wake them and then took off after Orion towards the howl.
He sprinted, jumping over the same logs and leaves as Orion was, following his exact path. Sudak's tongue lay limp out the side of his mouth as he panted for breath as he ran with the cub. He saw Orion stop a few feet ahead of him and was kind of upset that the joyous morning run had ended so abruptly. He slid to a stop, on his haunches, next to Orion and let out a little yip as he sat there next to him.
"Hi, he said with a little laugh in his voice. He then turned his attention to Fiory and all the others that were missing from the den this morning.
Ah, well here you all are, what's the news Fiory. Good news I hope, he said still panting for breath from the run.

[glow=purple,9,000]A smile crossed the young she varg's maw, ivory teeth being shown in a kind and gentle manner. They had come, almost all of them at the very least. Her tail swished slowly behind her agile form, but erect her form stayed, proud and loving. Golden optics glistened with the pride that swelled throughout her body. They had come, to her. She had never thought it possibly, plausable that they, the List pack, once under the rule of Bila and of Shatocwnn, would come to her calling. It was a pride unmatched, and it almost wanted to bubble out of her nostrils and out of her maw in happiness.
Lyft was first to arrive, her dear friend like a second sister to her, and her second in command. Memories flooded her head of the times Fiory and Lyft had faught with each other oh so long ago in the summer time mists. "There's no way you'll beat me Lyft, I'm am the fastest varg alive, you will choke on my dust" "You think to highly of yourself Fiory, your going down" A soft almost nonexistantly heared chuckle immited from Fiory's raven black maw at the memory of the great race Shatocwnn had put together. Bila, Lyft and herself had joined in it's fun. There were of course, times when Lyft and Fiory hadn't gotten along, but as of this moment, they were far from sight.
Next was Gryffin, Shatocwnn's beloved daughter, and memories of Lyft's past were lifted as new ones emmerged. "Stay silent, can you hear it?" A sparkle twinkled in the Drappa's eyes as she looked fondly down upon Gryffin, their hunt with Sudak and herself coming clear into her head. The tri colored she-varg had grown handsomely, if only Shatocwnn were alive to see her beautiful coat now. Ears of sunshine gold flicked a moment as a stumbling black varg entered the clearing.
If more happiness could have been filled into Fiory, it would have overflowed now, seeing her dear son followed closely by the very much trusted Sudak plod into the area. He had Bristol's fine stature with his newly rippling muscles and his adult coat coming in. But his eyes, were all his mothers. Where the blue had come from, even Fiory did not know, nor did she care. Her son was growing handsomely, and would be a valuable asset to their family, their pack, even if he was a bit mischevious at this point in his life.
"Patience all, Patience...We still have three more heads to count. My daughters must not be awake yet and the third is part of my news to you. Yes Sudak, it is good news I bring." The stargazer said softly, her voice quiet and strong, melodious with a heavenly touch but able to be heard upon the ground and the earth. A deep inhale of the nearest breeze brought relief for a moment. This was news more for the cubs she expected then the others, though she wished everyone to hear it for themselves. And perhaps, they would find news in her second attempt that was worthy of their own attentions. At least, Fiory dearly hoped so, for she had tried very had to accomplish this for them, risking her own self for it, and now she could hardly wait to allow the great good to spill from her maw. Gryffin danced on impatient toes for a while before finally sitting herself down onot the spring earth. This moring though Gryffin foundherself feeling jittery and couldnt keep still, not for two seconds! The she wolf sat there rocking back and forth her aurburn tassel swishing right to left like a propeller. Head swung suddenly to the right as she caught sight of a Meadow Lark. A dark hued and yellow bird. She barked at it for no reason and watched as it fluttered about, its thraot vibrating as it sang out its song. Gryffin frowned wondering how it made that sound.
She padded a few steps away from Fiory and Lyft, watching the bird closely. She lifted her head and opened her aw attempthing to twirp like the Lark but only came out with a high pitched howl-yip followed by voughing. Gryffin shook her pelt and barked sharply at the Lark and turning she padded back to the pair. Gryffin grew restless again, she never liked waiting. But before she could do anything more or even try to sing lke a bird again she heard the footsteps of two vargs. Jumpign around she spotted two young wolves. One ivory and one of ebony.
Gryffin recognized them both. The tri coloured she wolf lifted her head and howled melodiously with enthusiasme. Dancing on the tips of her paws she whirled over to Sudak and Orion, boncing at their flanks as they padded towards Fiory and Lyft. Gryffin growled in pleasure as her tasssel wagged faster. Lifting herself up off the ground she was able to catch a hold of Sudaks left ear and tugged it. Tail high she yipped at her trick and then went over to Orion giving the ever growing he-pup a great big lick. She then eased down and sat next to Sudak. She wondered too what Fiory had instore to tell the pack but the little she wolf could somehow sense the brimmign pride ablaze in her deep orbs.

[glow=purple,9,000]A smile crossed the raven she-wolf's maw, and she gave a gentle chuckle to the impatient she-varg before her. Well, this would be as good a time as any she supposed. No longer would she hold back the secret she held, and her tassel wagged gently behind her in anticipation.
"I will say it now. To long have we been destined into the shadows of dispairity with death and with hurt in our hearts. No longer. Spring is upon us dear friends and family. And I have made a decision to help our packlands." For a moment she paused, a breeze ruffling her fur before her heavenly voice full of strength began again.
"I have traveled from our home den across the forests and plains of List to the boundries of Deor. I have passed their boundries easily and have found our enemy in their wake. For this I have done for you. I have set into motion, a peace between the two rivals of List and Deor, and as we speak I hope to keep this new alliance and allow it to grow, for you all who stand before me, and for the future generations who come after our time." Her chest puffed out slightly in pride for her own accomplishment, her tassel wagging, awaiting for the approval, but it wouldn't come yet, there was still more to tell.
"Further more, I have also allowed another into our midst, though she is not here at the moment, she will be soon enough. Her name is Shadow Dawn, whom Lyft and Gryffin already met I believe. She is a cub like List's own bundle, and will need training and teaching, but she will be a good asset to us all." Again, a pause of a short second was given as those golden optics looked over her friends and family, over Lyft, her right hand paw and dear friend, over Gryffin, daughter of the great Shatocwnn and Leohlic, and finally over her own son, standing there with the same pride and determination she had seen so clearly in Bristol's old form.
"And finally, I would like to announce for the children...that I have decided them old enough to be taught to hunt. I have decided that Denisha, Shatila and Orion are finally large enough and strong enough, to practice their hunting skills and to learn from the finest hunters List has to offer, two of them, I taught breifly myself...not like they needed my guidance either.." She said softly, her gaze moving from her son's joyous face over to Gryffin and to Sudak. A warm and gentle smile spread across her raven black lips, before her form slowly lowered to a lieing down position upon that large rock, the very same rock so long ago that Fiory had found refuge for. The boulder was used by the star gazer many nights to stare up at the stars, to gaze upon Tor, and to think of yester years. It was here, her favorite spot in all of List, where she gave her good news...

[glow=pink,3,900]Hunt. Denisha’s blood chilled in excitement for a moment before it died away to leave a gnawing at the back of her mind, one that had been growing more consistent over the suns. At the back of her brain something was disturbed, and she thought she knew what it was, but every time she tried to concentrate on it something would interest her or she would find she didn’t care or was too afraid to find out. But it was about Bila, about the dead, about so many things that disagreed with her. She was the daughter of a Drappa now and she had to live up to maybe be the next Beta. With the death of the Warrioress came a deep disturbance in the center of the pack, and rank was being carried about, along with strange feelings between Sudak and Gryffin. And quiet Denisha would no longer be quiet.
“I don’t like this pack,” she squeaked, and was silent. But that wasn’t what she meant. She tried again. “Why did we bury Bila? That was wrong, that isn’t the way of the wolf.” With haunted eyes, she glanced at the mound of Earth. Still, that wasn’t what she meant. [/glow]

Sudak smiled as Fiory announced the begging of the cubs new task. To start to hunt would be a challenge for them and it would help the pack in the future. He looked down at the cubs that stood at his side and whispered.
"Be strong and proud little ones, this is a big day for you all."
He heard Denisha mention Bila and Sudak turned away, not wanting to think of the death of another close friend.
