All Things Must Come to an End - Great or Small

[glow=red,4,000]*The bitter season of winter had swiftly taken hold of the land in its icy grip and was once again turning everything to frost and ice. Small pockets of water could not escape the savage cold and be turned into a solid, a new form and beaing that was seen as useless if one was suffering from a great thirst and could get little moisture from the frozen liquid.
One such varg stumbled through the lands on weary paws that left a bloody imprint everytime a leg was weakly lifted and then placed painfully just before its previous placement. His pelt was of a deep, intense crimson red where it led to a shimmering white along his muzzle and underbelly - but no varg or lera that would have seen his previous state would have guessed as such. For his once so proud pelt was riddled with wounds - all self-inflicting or purpously caused - and they all oozed out his cruel, malicious black blood - matting each hair with the freezing life-source as it pulsed from his bitter heart and quickly out of his even more bitter body.

The varg, believe it or not, was once proud and well respected in the lands of Transylvania. Loathed by too many to count, and loved by the few he had now forgotten. Since the days of his arrival in the forest that had swiftly became his home, the ex First of the Balkar and previous Dragga of the proud List pack had always been seen as something rather unusual. His heritage was unknown to him - and if he'd known that his father was once a strong and proud Balkar varg who had raped his kerl mother as to spare her from a painful death, then he would never have followed the path he'd chosen.
If only the thought had occured to him...to seek guidance in the Vale of Shadows and found out he had become a being in such a cruel world. The surely the outcome would not have been as it was.

Leohlic. That was the name that the smaller than average varg bore. He had a long life...full of roads that he'd walked down and many that he'd passed without a second glance. And if only, as with any sorrowful story would begin with, he had went down one of those paths...he may not have ended up as he had done so.

Limping like the sikla's he had despised so much in his life, Leohlic came to a slow stand still by a large oak and lifted his small head to look before him. His face was deeply gashed in several places, all through his own crazed ploys, and his muzzle hung open as though his jaw had been shattered - blood oozing and dripping sickeningly from his drooping tongue, mixing with saliva to create a most grotesque concuction.
Shuddering badly his hind legs gave way and the aged varg's back end collapsed onto the frozen earth. He growled deeply and gave a threatening, fiery glare to his back end - almost as if he were so dilerious with blood-loss and dehidration that he thought that it was no longer part of him.

Leohlic was on his death bed. Insanity had taken him to his self-inflictions of pain and the torment of his twisted mind had not helped in the slightest. But who - who in the Balkar would come to visit him now? He was unknown to the world...unknown to those who once had meant the world to him..*[/glow]

[Carcharoth]

Fenris had risen late, as with every winter morning, and frost had covered most of the land in small white shimmering flakes. The sun god always seemed to be rather lazy during the moons of winter, leaving the duties down to his pearly moon Goddess Tor - where she would lie dorment for most of the summer moons when they arrived every cycle.
Large ebon paws tred the land as though power seeped through the bodice they were carrying. The huge bulk of an enormous varg shifted grotesquely as he moved through the lands - thick, loose skin sagging and swaying from side to side with every movement he made forward, thick bristled tail jutting out rigidly behind him as though to balance out his massive mass.

A single aud aloft his head swivelled too and fro as his poisonous green orb glanced back and forth whilst the silvery orb which lay jsut down from tufts of fur above his head stared blankly ahead - staring at everything and observing nothing. His chunky head lifted and a thick muzzle flecked with single silvery hairs scented the air tentively as the strong aroma of blood seeped through the thin air towards his looming pressence.

A wry grin spread across the same muzzle as Carcharoth remembered the scent well. It had been that of his previous Dragga, previous First of the Balkar; Leohlic. Though the blood he could scent was not that of any lera or herla...it was that of varg - Carcharoth knew this well enough for he had spilt enough to define its specific odur.
Growling with slight unease, the bulking shadow of a brute leapt into a steady lope once again and broke through the misting barrier that surrounded him and the rest of the Balkar territory.

It took Carcharoth little time to reach the withering legend with his steady gait - but as quickly as he'd reached the old oak tree, he came to a halt and lowered his head in respect, his brow frowning deeply as he observed the terrible state Leohlic had gotten in. "Sir? What's happened to you sir?" he asked deeply and curiously, hoping not to statle the obviously dilerious crimson varg.

[Leohlic]

[glow=red,2,300]Blank, fiery eyes turned in the bloodied head and stared almost as if they were blind into the emerald and ivory eyes of Carcharoth - the Balkar's appointed head Lacan. A deep growl erupted from his throat which was, on the exterior, matted with clotted blood, and even more blood began to pour from his gaping muzzle. It was unlikely he was able to answer the large, demeaning male who stood so attentively to the side of where his previous Dragga no sat - waiting for his impending death to come.
"My mind...my dirty...filthy...poisoned....mind is what's happened to me C-C-Car-"
He cut off, simply unable to carry on. Or was it because he had forgotten his trustworthy Balkar's name? Who knew. After all, he had just stated it was his mind that had been the reason for his state now. Even if it had made little sense through his gargling growls as blood spattered in every direction.
His lip twitched and he let out a deep, unearthly snarl as his forelegs now gave way and the small crimson pelted varg collapsed into a bloody heap on the roots of the oak, his muscles beginning to spasm as his eyes were suddenly hidden behind lids as they winced hard with the pain.
But in retort to this pain, Leohlic let out a deep laugh and - with as much effort that he could muster - lifted his head and began to shake it furiosuly, his jaw swinging limply from side to side as his crimson liquid flew every which way.
The pain in doing so caused him to wince further - but the more painful it got, he simply continued to do so until all of his energy had run out and his head fell hard onto a breaching root. Panting heavily his enture body shook as he looked back up darkly to Carcharoth as though he should be alone. But his muttered words spoke of a different plead.
"My family...I do not know them...they do not know me...where are they?"

[Gryffin]

The cold wintry air had filled the lands of Transylvania with a sigh as it chased autumn and warmth away. The trees were deathly bare and the land was chilled and it was as if the forests had frozen in death.
Along the outskirts of the balkar lands though a young she wolf lingered. She was pregnant but she would not have given birth until a few moons.

Gryffin padded along a log before jumping off of it with a grunt. Lifting her head she tested the wind with any familiar scents but found none. Ears twitching she pressed on, not knowing where to go really. She felt restless the past moon and she found herself wandering along the outskirts of List and today she found herself near the balkar territory. Her father, had taught her to be careful when stalking by these lands. Of course e would know. Gryffin thought. He was the greatest balkar there was. Gryffin grinned before jumping over a large boulder that was in her way. But her grin soon faded into a frown. Where was he Gryffin did not know. Did the great Leohlic die? That was what had settled in Gryffin's heart but she refused to believe it. Ever since her mother had died, she found that her father was not the same. He had returned to the Balkar lands as the First but later on had stepped down and placed the burden on Serg. Now what? Where had the Great gone?

Gryffin shook her mind from those thoughts and padded on. By the time she realized where she was she found herself deep in the Balkar lands. Gryffin did not even know she had wandered so far. She remembered though how she had slipped so silently into the balkar lands many a times when she was just a pup,to visit her father and her brothers.

Gryffin turned on her heels and began to turn back and travel back to her lands when the sudden shriek of a raven caught her attention. She looked up to the smoky skies and saw a group of ravens. Their high pitched cry echoing the song of death. Gryffin raised an eyebrow at them and she scented the air. It was thick of blood, the blood of a wolf. Gryffin's nose wrinkled. "The balkar must have been at it again" she said with a wry grin before continuing on but stopped hot on her tracks. and scented the air again. "Wait a minute." she said. the blood and scent was intoxicating and it was hard to even tell which scent was which. Gryffin growled and scented it again. "No it can't be" she whispered and trotted into the thicket her paws flexing as she made no sound.

Parting from the shadows what she saw was a mad sight. A black wolf towering over a smaller red wolf. The red wolf's pupils seemed to have roll up into his eye sockets and he seemed ghostly blind. Where is my family the faint words Gryffin could catch. Gryffin snarled and her emerald glare rested on the large male that stood over the now defined Leohlic. Gryffin feeling a rush of anger and worry jumped out of the brush and charged toward the male Carcharoth. Gryffin snarled facing the male before bending down and nuzzling the bloodied wolf. "Leohlic." Gryffin whispered, "Father." Gryffin said and ran her tongue over his blood stained muzzle and cheek. She hissed and swung her muzzle to the Lacan. "Balkar what has happened. Pray that you were not the one who caused this or you would be the one to pay" Gryffin said her voice filled with emotion as she snarled like never before. Her gums were fully exposed and her fangs flashed with unearthly poison, one that suited a balkar in every which way.

[Sudak]

Sudak had noticed after his return to the dens that Gryffin had wandered towards the boundaries. This wasn't very unusual of her at all, but with her being so close to birthing pups Sudak thought it best that he stick at her side. He bolted after her sent and soon came upon the strong and musk scent of the Balkar boundaries. Sudak had only wandered here on very few occasions and only once ever penetrated into the Balkar lands. However Gryffin's scent was strong now and he couldn't let his mate wander the lands of the Balkar unprottected. He knew Gryffin could handle herself plenty, but with the burden she carried this was no time for her to fight and stress. Without hesitation for Tratto's Blessing Sudak dashed down the hillside in the direction of his mate and soon came upon voices. One voice that being of his loving mate. He slowed to a trot then parted the brush with his maw to then see his mate towering over a figure whome seemed to be scarred and wretched in a menacing manner. Blood lay at Gryffin's paws and a black varg lay closer to himself facing his mate and the mutulated varg. He could see the anger on Gryffin's face as she stared at the black varg which he no doubtedly thought to be that of the Balkar. Sudak bolted out of the brush on instinct and slid to a halt in front of his mate without taking an eye off of the varg that he thought to posses a threat. Lowering his head and his teeth baring Sudak stood on his toes. A slight lift of his tail made a slight brush with his mate with the message of his greeting.

"What have you done here!?"

barked Sudak. Now Sudak took the time to let his eyes drift to the form that lay behind Gryffin. Sudak was shocked to find that of his Dragga of old and Gryffin's father. Whatever this varg had done he would surely pay for this crime, but he wasn't racing to conclusions quite yet.

[Leohlic]

[glow=red,2,300]The beating of thunderous paws against earth was suddenly all Leohlic could hear as his head lay firmly pressed against the tree's roots by gravity - his entire body weilding with the sensation of pain. So much so that now he literally felt numb with it - and it didn't phase him in the slightest. If he had even winced at a pang of pain he would have snarled bitterly for his stupidity at feeling such an emotion and caused himself further pain - for Balkar...especially the previous First...felt nothing of the sort.
But as he opened his fiery ember eyes the crimson male saw the appearance of a familiar varg dart towards him, snarling bitterly at the looming ebon pressence as he towered not far off from where his smaller body lay. Watching the same fire burn in the tri-hued faemmes eyes as his own had done once...and the same fiery temper that held Shato's pressence...Leohlic's heart began to accelerate and he muttered blood curdling words whilst peering up into her savage yet lovingly familiar face.
"G-gryffin?"
He stumbled before the appearance of an ivory male flew into the scene, the same fire burning in his eyes as they both snarled maliciously at the head Lacan.
A deept brewing anger bubbled within him and he growled devilishly at the two younger vargs - younger than himself at least.
"E-enough!"
He spat, looking up into his daughter's face and then into Sudak's, remembering now that Fiory had once told him on his last visit to List, the pack he and Shato had built together, that Gryffin had become mates with Sudak, the scrawny youth that had became a member when his own litter were still cubs. Recognition sank in and he shuffled his body round painfully before growling deeply and nodding politely to them both before throwing Carcharoth another glance which meant - some time alone...for now..[/glow]

[Carcharoth]

The spluttering words that were barely audible to Carcharoth's one ear were picked up with great difficulty and his shimmering orbs glistened with shock, only one emerald eye taking in the full sight of blood, pain and suffering. "Sir...please sir...remain still," he stammered whislt watching the small crimson male shake his head violently in attemtpt to brace further pain until he could stand it - at least this is how Carcharoth saw things.
But as he took a tentive step forward the rushing blur of many colours flashed before his eye and he drew back sharply, hackles bistling and tail rising in a threatening manner to the faemme who now towered over the small male. His ivory teeth flashed with malice as she threatened him and accused him of such a sin. "Watch your tongue little miss or it will be you who pays," he snarled furiously, turning his attention now to the white pelted male who swiftly joined the faemme.

Darting his gaze back and forth from the two he soon came to realise that Leohlic was indeed the father of the faemme, and this male was her mate. Allowing his hackles to relax slightly, his tail remained static and erect - showing little signs of backing down before he peered at the crimson Balkar.
Looking back up with a hard stare his lips twitched and he growled deeply. "I would never harm this varg in any way even if the First ordered me to. He was a First before even Serg and he created the pack I am guessing you resided in. This varg is a living legend...or at least fo the moment he is...and I do not appreciate having blame placed apon me when it is unneccessary," he spoke with a deep and demeaning voice as though he were ready to spring for the two intruders. But he held back, flashing his teeth again and glancing back to his ex Dragga.
Seeing the look in his fiery stare, Carcharoth knew better than to stay and fight, so with a quick flick of his thick brushy tail he turned on heel and began to pad away from the scene, not before giving one last bow to the crimson male - a bow of respect and good will. "May Wolfbane be thankful for what he is about to recieve," he muttered deeply under his voice before disapearing into the misty shadows of the Balkar terrain..

[glow=black,2,700]A familiar sheet of orange staggered through the clearing, accompanied closely by the new found glacier flakes. The sheet was torn, its blood frozen, its skin rotten. It had been an autumn leaf, once filled with bright colour, now suffered and surrendered to the bitter winter. The autumn had long retreated, and the layers of frigid snow had settled with the twisted deceased forests. One time faded to another.

The Second lifted his head from the solid rock floor. The white washed limbs of the willows sulked over head, the fierce morning light curtained nicely from the saphire optics of the dark hued wolf. Mists from the slowed river drifted onto the land, caressing the limbs of much of the forest. The occasional flake of snow sifted toward the floor, marking the onyx maw of the night hunter with a clean sheet of white between the saphire hues.

Slightly unconscious, his eyes opened slowly, and closed for long intermissions. The light broke through the sinking arms of the willows now and then, limiting the view of the second. His half-awake mind was not slow to notice the quiet. The ravens were no where, the water sounded ever so softly. He rose to his feet, the cold muscles pained slightly, and the bones sounded as he rose. A rusted crimson paw reached forward, swatting aside a small branch. Though then, sounds echoed off the hollow trees. The black clouds of birds rose from the tree tops, scattering about in the sky. Voices repeated. Both Faemme and Male; ones he reconized, ones he didn't and some he remembered faintly.

The second padded slowly, a bitter winters wind brought a fury of unfamiliar scents, accomanied by that of blood. Much blood. " A fresh blooded feast, and where was I?" The mist fell to nothing from his maw, his words curled with a snarl, the commotion annoying, yet the curiosity took the best of the wolf.

Yet a feast was not to be seen. Blood was true, though. The form of the Former First lay uncomfortably on the frigid Balkan floor, two mere siklas at his side, their names unfamiliar. "Leoh..." The words fell with shock from the maw of the Second. His stomach curled with misery. Though his blood boiled, for the mentor of the Second, and the prominent figure to the Night Hunters, lay torn and shredded on his own lands, lands that remained his own, for the terms that he lived. " Who's done this...." The cold voice sounded. His saphire optics lifted from the Former First, to the two siklas at his side. His claws glided along the fresh powder, the tips sounding against the solid floor that lay beneath. Who's done this....?" Ziev said a second time, this time the question directed at the two unknown wolf. Who would cut Leoh's era short? Who would cut the era short un-noticed to the Balkar? The second's claws continued musing with the solid floor. His forelegs tensed, his claws clenched, his anger rose higher than sympathy. One time would not yet fade to another.

if a stray snowflake landed on the back of the muscular bulk of the varg that had paused atop a hollow log that gave him a slight vantage point over the Balkar lands, it would melt with the body heat that had managed to ooze out of his thick winter pelt. a pelt that had kept its pure black as a colour even in winter, a black that enabled him to slip into shadows unnoticed, however, perhaps not in winter; for now the pure unadultered whiteness of the snow surrounded him. Serg's lips curled, revealing sharp white teeth. his paws shuffled, his claws scratching the rotten bark of the log. forepaws covered in wet mud. his breathing was heavy and breathe plumed out of his maw in thick mist. he had been kept busy in Sarnes, lately he had been running from one pack to another, yet now he was back in his favoured lands.

sniffing the air tentatively, Serg tried to place the scent of his Second. or of the Lead Lacan Carcharoth. and the chill winters breeze brought to him a scent all the more confusing. blood? already? growling Serg leapt off the log and resumed his running pace towards the source of the smell. as he neared, his confusion grew. more scents came to him now. Ziev, Carcharoth, Gryffin, and another varg he did not know. and the most powerful scent of all, blood, blood and.. Serg growled and increased his pace, skidding to a halt as the group burst into view. his flaming amber eyes widened in shock upong seeing the crimson varg covered blood, his own blood, and sunken and broken, unlike he had never seen him before. Serg had always seen his predecessor as strong and powerful. it was a strange oddity indeed to see him like this, and the very sight made the irritation and frustration that had been building up inside him all the more potent.

'Sir..' he growled as he prowled forward, although he had not called anyone 'sir' for a long time, it never felt strange to call Leohlic sir. this varg was definately worthy of the title in Serg's opinion. 'what happened here?' Serg's head turned to Ziev, he had caught his question the second time he had uttered it, and nodded in agreement. 'yes Sir, give us a name and their miserable life shall be stripped from them in the slowest and most painful way we know.' Serg's eyes flickered for a second, as if part of him was praying that Leohlic would say the name Draeg, and he'd have an excuse to run down his enemy immediately, but that cowardly sikla would not have done this to such a great varg, he wouldnt have dared. he could only wait patiently for an explanation.

Ebon stilts stood on the end of List's boundries, their owner over looking the valleys and forests from her vantage point. A snow white male, and a much loved female, dashing off across List's boundry line into Balkar territories? But why? Fiory was uncertain, though her long tail gave a light sway as she made her way down the face of the mountain, running after her two betas, Sudak and Gryffin. Perhaps they wanted time alone with one another, but Fiory doubted this. Why go into the Balkar if alone time was wished? Perhaps Leohlic called for them, and if this was such the case, Fiory would indeed wish to be there before her formal, regal, Dragga.

Silk like the shadows she ran on through her own woods, following the faint scent of her young seconds, though it didn't take long for the stealthy speedy she-varg to reach where they were going. Her pace slowed quietly as blood began to drift on the breezes, and before she came up to the little group huddled around a bloody small creature, she slowed her run to a gentle meloding walk. Blood hung thickly in the air, and her eyes watered in greif as that smaller the average varg she had come to respect so much lay in a bloody heap beneath an oak. Though nothing was said, as blame circled the group, Fiory's gold splashed auditories taking in each word.

"Your honorable Former has said enough" Fiory snarled quietly, those ears still foreward as she held herself up like a Drappa should. Tears welled in her golden hues, looking from Sudak, her beta male, to Gryffin, her neice beta female...Her eyes traveled to the forms of the First of the Balkar, Serg and his excuse for a Second Ziev. Though Leohlic had allied himself with both List and Balkar alike, joining the two packs, Fiory was never one to be kind to the night hunters. She did not approve of their ways and therefore, showed little to no respect for them. However, today, respect was clearly shown, if not only for Leohlic.

Fiory shouldn't be welcome here, she knew that, and her sharp eyes caught the glance that was given to another varg who had just left. Leoh wished for time alone with his daughter and his son-in-law. So, her eyes poured over towards Serg and Ziev, who both wished for any vargs name so they could kill said varg; it was in their eyes, it was all over their faces.

"If I might inquire towards the both of you." Fiory spoke majestically, a regal way that a Drappa should when addressing ones of her own rank. "That we allow them peace with themselves for a time. Discussion of who's to blame will come later...First...and Second...For now, Family, will stay while we move to wait." Fiory's words were demanding at best, but she was not afraid of either Serg or Niev. After all, she had the same rank as Serg did, and was if not on a higher plane the Ziev. It would have been cowardly for either of them to remark in a way that would suggest disloyal and harsh relations towards Fiory, and she knew it. On Leoh's death bed, how would it look if a request given by a female from his own created pack, was attacked by his First and his Second, for even making such a request? The star gazer knew it would not go over well in her Honored Dragga's eyes. And so, with the invitation and demand of it made, Fiory began to move away from her neice, her Dragga, and her beta male. Though, a small pause was given and she bowed her head in sadness, dispair, and respect towards Leoh's deminishing form.

"May you rest in peace...I will look for you in the stars, just as I do Shatocwnn.....She will be glad to see you again, I am sure of this...Rest easy, my dear sir.." Her words were soft, gentle, caressing to the ears around, as Fiory's voice usually was, though a solemness had entered each syllable, yet she left it at that. Her gaze turned to the First and to the Second, and she motioned their attention away from their dieing Dragga. If Leoh wished to be alone, Fiory was not one to deny his request.....would Serg and Ziev?[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Watching silently, bar the pained and raspy breathes that were rattling through his blood soaked lungs, as Carcharoth gave his retort back to Gryffin and Sudak before leaving the scene with a generous bow to his large head. Bowing back to the Lead Lacan, Leohlic turned his gaze back once more to his daughter and son in law. But before he even got the chance to utter further words to the couple, two ebony pelted vargs tore through the brush near enough at the same point.
His burning eyes flashed up towards them and they seemed to literally set alight as Serg suggested taring out the life and soul of the varg who had done this to him. Leohlic was delighted that the larger male had taken on such a determined and savage role as First, but on realising that if he were to fulfil what he had said...then he'd be killing his previous Dragga.
"T-there is no u-use in killing me off S-Serg. All this w-was of my own d-doing."
He growled deeply, ignoring as the blood which spattered from his gaping jowls splattered over the daughter who was towering over his broken form, tending to his gushing wounds with little success in her attempts.
"I-I'm finished boys...t-there is no where for m-me now but W-Wolfbane's den."
He snarled savagely before turning his attention swiftly to the silent and slender appearance of Fiory - the faemme now who had taken over Bila and Shato's tole of Drappa. Drappa of the pack he had created alongside his precious love. A stabbing, searing pain hit his gut and his entire body tensed as his head fell sharply onto the oak's root again, an ear shattering howl breaking through his clogged lungs and more crimson fluids leaked and spurted everywhere.

The pains. They were the true cause for his suffering. Since the day his mother had abandoned him to die, he had felt nothing but the same stabbings of pain in his gut whenever feelings of happiness or love rested on his mind. However, after his meeting with Shato and the feelings that soon grew between the two varg...things had been different. So much so that he no longer felt so much anguish and pity for himself in life. He'd been offered the place of Second within the Balkar's ranks and the couple had taken in a small number of varg to create the small mountainous dwelling pack List.
But from the day of her death...it had all returned. The same pain, anguish and pity he'd felt before the two had ever met. And his ruling for List was over. Without his mate by his side, he had no choice left but to leave it for Bila's rule.
Returning as First to the Balkar's terrain he ruled the place he'd always dreamed of running for merely a small number of moons before handing it down to his Second, Serg.
Leaving them for some time - he now returned to the lands he had been brought up in to die. And here he lay...shattered and fit for death.

As the crimson male's howl fell short and his pained eyes glanced up towards Fiory, he watched her leave in hope that Serg and Ziev too would follow in her wake - but not without giving him a last farewell on such a beautiful voice.
Hesitating for a mere second, Leohlic suddenly stuttered and let out a bark to gain their attention - hoping they would come in closer as now his voice was swiftly failing him.
"B-Balkar a-and List...m-must remain...a-allies..."
He croaked as best he could before throwing them all urgent glares and looking back towards Gryffin - his only link to Shato he knew had survived.[/glow]

[Gryffin]

"Father" the words escaped Gryffin's maw and entered the cold chilling winds. "Why must this be" she growled and she looked to Carcharoth and nodded a silent sorry before quickly turning back to her father.
Gryffin turned her head and acknowledged Sudak, though her heart was much to pained to say much more then a nod. But the sudden growl from Leohlic sent the same shivers through Gryffin's body. She shut her trap instantly and turned to look at Carcharoth guiltily.

Before long though entered the present First and the Second of the balkar. Gryffin looked up and nodded to Serg. Though she had not met the Second yet but knew his name to be Ziev. Gryffin turned her attention back onto her father though and growled agreeing whole heartedly to Serg's words. Though she still did not know why her father came to this outcome she swore she would get revenge on someone, anyone who would have had a link or something to do with this. Gryffin would tear them apart herself.

Gryffin swung her head around, emerald eyes blazing with pain and anger as she pinned her optics onto the familiar form of Fiory. Gryffin acknowledged her drappa but cared not for anything else. She let out a pitiful whine and licked her father's bloodied muzzle.

Gryffin frowned and shook her head, not understanding. Leohlic the great balkar had done this to himself? But why? Gryffin did not know. She felt like a pitiful whelp again, unknowing what to do and how to act. When Gryffin looked up she could see that Carcharoth had left but Fiory's sullen words had finally struck a chord in Gryffin and the inevitable knowing sunk into her head. Her father was dieing.

Gryffin lowered her muzzle closer to her father, her ears pressed against her skull as she listened to his favor. Gryffin nodded, "Of course father." she said and with a growl she replied, "and who ever dares to come against the List or the Balkar will be sorry,in honor of List and you." Gryffin said her lips trembling.

Gryffin sunk lower on her paws so that she was level with the great Balkar. "I will wear my blood and birth with pride." Gryffin whispered and her emerald eyes shut for a moment. "Father..." she growled, "Its not fair. It's not fair that Wolfbane will receive such a varg. too great you are for wolfbane's depths." Gryffn muttered and she looked to Leohlic. Would she have time to tell him of her pups? That his blood still vividly in her would live on? Gryffin hoped so. But as a snowflake fell fro the grey skies and landed on her she shivered. Something she had not felt for many a seasons.

Sudak slowly let his hackles lower as he saw that his ex-dragga knew these varg. They seemed to be of little threat to them, List was still allies with the Balkar to his knowledge and he would hope for it to remain that way as well. Sudak turned to face Gryffin as she grieved of her father's dire condition. Sudak couldn't undertand, himself, how a varg could do such a mutulating thing to himself. The pain he could only imagine. Sudak bent down so his maw was alongside his mates. He gave her an encouraging lick on the muzzle and a whine escaped his maw. Now turning to Leohlic that lay still underneath the oak Sudak stood tall and proud.

Sir, I will not dissapoint you. List shall live on strong and I will commit myself to keeping the packs of List and the Balkar together as allies for as long as Tor and Fenris see my life useful here in this world."

With closed eyes he bowed his head in respect to the quickly fading mann.

"Sir... My Dragga... you shall live on in all of our hearts. You shall not be forgotten."

[Serg]

he bowed his great black head in respect for his former First. maybe the others could not understand what could have driven Leoh to do such a thing to himself, but Serg thought he could. 'Wolfbane would be honoured to recieve you, Sir.' he growled deeply.

Serg's auds and burning amber eyes flashed around to Fiory, Drappa of List. lips curled back tobare sharp white teeth. she might be an Alpha such as he was, but she was pushing things way too far. she had forgotten her place, which was back in List. maybe she had gotten herself too comfortable with pushign the vargs of List about, she thought she could try her luck over in Balkar territories. Serg's tail flicked in annoyance. he had planned on leaving, but with Leohlic so close by, the retorts and harsh remarks building up inside Serg had to be forced back down again. he was aching to put her back into her place, she was a Drappa, true enough, but a Drappa in his lands. any more disrespect would not be tolerated. Gryffin's loss was the worst, she had lost her father, but Serg had lost the varg he had respected the most. if Fiory annoyed him further, he could not count on keeping his cool.

without another word, Serg turned around to walk away, but then Leoh's voice made him stop midstride and look his head back towards the former First. amber eyes regarded him closely. how could he refuse a dying wish? his smouldering orbs strayed to Fiory and his lip curled, but on the other side of his maw to where Leoh lay, if Fiory continued to show disrespect to him. could he remain allies with her? glancing back at the blood-stained red varg, Serg bowed his head. before he turned and stalked off into the darkness again. they were left in peace. he had said of much of a goodbye as was in him. Serg had never been any good at goodbyes.
