Ebon stilts carried the strong agile male across his own borders, into those of List's allies, the Balkar. Immediatly upon closing the gap between the edge of both lands, a rank scent flooded the male's nostrils. Large paws, decendent of his father, stopped abruptly along the edge of the night hunter's lands. A chill ran through the young he-varg's body, a shiver streaking up and down his spine causing his pitch black coat to prickle alone his back line.
Saphire hues glistened brightly into the lands that as a cub he feared above all others. And for good reason. Sure, his mother's pack were allies with that of the Balkar, but that didn't mean when he was growing up, that Orion liked them. Now however, was a different matter. Orion was stronger, larger, and more determined to continue to grow in strength and stamina. One day, he'd return to List for good perhaps, claim it as his own, but for now he determined that he needed training. A sort of training that can only be recieved from the feircest of vargs, and in the harshest of circumstances.
Caustiously, the ebony male moved foreward, his long feathered tail flicking back and forth in a slight unease, before he lifted his cranium and let his pressence be known to all. Let them come. Let any and all of them come. He was older, he was unafraid...he was ready. Orion wished to become that of which he had feared as a young cub in his mother's old den. Orion wished to request to join, the Nighthunter vargs.

Fragmented trunks of intertwined willows swayed with a bitter frosty wind. The inner tissue slowly deteriorating, ripping bit by bit, letting out large cracking melodies, that echoed endlessly into the hollowed forest. The last twines of emerald and auburn wilted from the branches, frozen in place by the early frost, appearing in the light like toxic rain drops. The territories ravine still flowed, with less momentum than the early autumn had brought. It's waters still hadn't lost the poisonous green hue, despite the rain the new season had brought. The transitions of the seasons was especially clear in the balkar territory, though the weather phenomenon appeared as boring as any other time of the year.
The second did not rest these days, easily awaken by the distractions around him; the wind, the rain, the cold, and the most aggrevating melody ever heard to species; the raven. Cold saphire optics revealed the miserable surroundings that Ziev had grown used to. The ravens continued there endless ranting. Ziev snarled, a cloud of his breath rose visable into the bitter cold breeze.
Nearby, Ziev glanced over, to see a scattered array of clean ivory bone, its ribcage bashed in and broken, and its skull pressed into the mud of the rain. Though squinting, the skull appeared as that of a wolf's skull, one he had seen just before being chosen Second. "There is no difference between the wolf I am, and the wolf who's heart lay pierced by my claws. There only exists that fact that I proved myself worthy to live." Ziev mumbled, smirking at his own words. It was a true statement, as it replayed itself in his mind. Between a Balkar wolf and a Pansy wolf, the only difference is the wolf who remains is the one who deserves to win, which in most cases was the Balkar. It was something about the Balkar that made every other wolf, warrior, scout or hunter, seem so much less worthy. The principals they lived by. Love. What has love done for everybody? It creates a reason to care for the life beyond your own. Face it, you can't stay protected for ever, you can't be with someone always. What's worth fighting over a female wolf, the blood doesn't taste better.
Yes, there was definately something about the Balkar. And it wasnt the reputation doing the talking. Tamra brought together a kind of wolf that didnt care about a pack, a leader or what job they had, what rank they carried. No, he brought together a kind of wolf that was independently and uniquely more ruthless and deadly than the one standing next to him. A kind of wolf, that put no priorities before his own needs. A kind of wolf, that lives in self purity, no cares for family, friends, no one. A kind of wolf, that turned out to be the most feared creature of all. Yet, it bothered him, to see wolf in the balkar, who do not live by the same principals that he did. And any wolf who did not live by the oath of balkar, and the qualities of a balkar wolf, should very well lay before the Second, with a nicely exposed throat. Never would the second let in a pansy into the pack.
Though a call of a male wolf broke the silence and it was only then Ziev realized how quiet the forest had become. "Now why didn't I think of that..." Ziev snarled, his lack of night sleep now taking toll, as rose to all fours, and padded toward the borders, the scent of a List putnar crossing under his nasal with a frigid winds of the winter. Just in time for my night's snack, a nice sip of warm crimson blood. Ziev thought, his redish tongue running over his ivory chops, that split the black pelt apart at the maw.

((No problems. )
The wind fell silent through out the dark and chilling lands, and though his howl had dissipated into the dark sky, Orion stood proud and tall, almost a mirror of his sire. The male was unafraid of the balkar any longer, and wished only to join their ranks. His triangulars swiveled atop his ebony cranium, waiting impatiently for someone, something to come out of the brush. For a moment, he thought that a stirring bush may have been a varg on the prowl, and his hopes soared. The blackness was almost blinding, and the anticipation for whatever it was that had created the thistle bush to move was more then Orion could bare.
Pitch black strands rose atop his spine and a crisp bark escaped his muzzle in a quick burst, warning a varg if it were so, that he was here and he was waiting. He was strong, and he was determined to prove himself both to the offending varg, and to his parents back in the lands of List. But to his disappointment, a white hare bounded from the brush and raced across the small clearing, dissappearing again beneath a different bush, terror streaking through it's frail being.
Orion seemed to swell, watching the hare dash away with fright, his chest swelled and his head and tail seemed to raise in a more dominant way. Sure it was just a rabbit, but he felt stronger and more powerful all the same. Now to prove that, to a balkar varg. Tenativly, Orion stepped foreward, listening and craning his ears to any noise or disturbance in the area. He knew his howl would not have gone unnoticed. But how long would it take for a varg of the night hunters to answer him? His nostrils flared with the scents of the dark wolves everywhere, so it was difficult to decipher which was fresh, and which was old. For now, Orion would just have to wait, until a varg showed it'self or didn't....It would be a long night at the rate this was going...

Frigid Sapphire optics made the darkness known to the dark hued second. Water that layed reserved in the tree tops, slowly began to run, down the deceased leaves, and onto the frozen floor. Water. This was the only sound to be heard after the howl of the unknown enemy. The river still flowed, but its sounds were suppresed to nothing by the thin layer of ice that kept its movement unnoticed. Though the ice shifted every now and then, there were no other sounds, but the sounds created by water. Not even the twisted arms of the willows echoed. Everything had slowed to a standstill. It was...peaceful. Something the wolf had wished for every now and then, so that his sleep would go undisturbed. Though he wished to spur the silence, he conscious returned to a angry state, that not even another Balkar wolf could answer calls of smelly little sikla crossing lines passed their bedtime. The second continued his place, letting his claws glide agaisnt the frozen rock solid floor, a thought that the claws could make silence last forever, gave a smirk off his maw.
The rhythm of all fours began to slow, as a scent grew stronger. The wind picked up, tearing the leaves from every last connection they had, masking the approach of the Second toward the list wolf. "Bloody List" Snarling under his breath. He knew that the List Pack were to be treated as allies. Yet the Second struggled to find any reason why. They belonged to the Former First. But they've done nothing for the Balkar. And their littluns acted like mere squirrels that Ziev could feel the ecstacy of just stepping on one of them. "What ever happend to purity between the Balkar Leaders."
Slowly, The second stepped from the shadows, seeing the full form of the List trespasser. Fear and Anxiety was not visible, though he could feel that it was what travelled at his mind. All sikla feared the unknown. It's what makes things so much more fun for the Second.
Though Ziev had never bothered to travel to list, he acted as though he knew this varg from old times. "You come from List?" He growled under his breath, stepping forward, a slight smile growing on his maw. " Don't think that puts restraints on me. " Further his continued to amuse his thriving feeling to put his claws to good use, and continued to drag them about of the solid floor of the Balkar. "Now come on, don't waste my time with more silence, what do you want?"[/glow]

Orion's auditories flicked gently, and a light shock of the surprise of seeing the second of the balkar washed over the adolescently young adult male. His ears flicked foreward, before laying at the sides of his cranium, exposing two stripes, one on each of the back of his ears, inherited from his dam Fiory. Gold they were, and brilliant against the ebony black; the only difference between Orion and his father Bristol.
"I wish to join your ranks sir." Orion spat out in a flurry of words, a little nervous at actually meeting one of the leaders of the balkar in person, and not one of his measly scouts. Slowly, Orion approached, his head lowering and his tail falling quietly showing submission to the older varg, the stronger varg. Oh how Orion wished to be as strong as Ziev or Serg, the leaders of the Night hunters. Maybe then, then it would be enough to show how much he was worth to his family in List. Maybe then it would show the world he was not a coward, or a sikla, or a weak pathetic varg, a burdon of black fur to his parents, and a shameful disgrace to his family.
Saphire hues glistened like the stars above, little flecks of gold glistening within their azure iris's, another inherited thing from his mother. Ah, Fiory; Orion wished to show her how he was the better of the three vargs she birthed a year ago most of all.

The second felt amused, slightly. A smile fell across his maw, as he broke his glance from the dark hued wolf. The backside of solid onyx claws met the frozen balkan floor, gliding with short-lived sounds, as the second drifted around the male. Time and time again, the wolves he'd meet at the borders claimed they wanted to join the ranks. How many did this to avoid death? Well their lesson awaited them, the split second they make the break to escape tooth and claw. He could live with chasing off worthless Sikla, but things were supposibly different with List. On the account, of Leohlic, former leader of both the List pack, and the Balkar.
Leoh was a noble beast, cruel to the bone, and short-tempered, the one who saw qualities in Ziev when he joined. Though Leoh did things that Ziev greatly opposed. For an example, he had a mate, Shatocwen. And they even had cubs. The Second clenched his paws, the smooth crimson fur at his forepaws became disturbed as it met the floor. His black coat shined slightly, distorted morbid moonlight occasionally broke through deceased branches. The other part of Leoh was that of him that he tolerated a second pack. Full of weak sikla and cubs and what not. Ziev did not disrespect him for this, though definately, it angered him, it angered spirits of wolfbane that Ziev often felt beneath his blood. The spirits that brought him from a clean family to severe savagery. This part of Ziev, combined with his authority would do anything to raise the pack back to savagery. Betray the allies, and destroy the kin. The wolf would once again be fierce and savage, to truely live out the reputation of the Balkar.
"Well then," Ziev snarled. Saphire optics grew to learn that the wolf was rather young, younger than the kin of Leoh. He wasn't small, though Ziev could note that his spine was shaking, not visible, though, definately there was no confidence. More amusement to Ziev. He'd not end the meeting so quickly and send him home. No, he'd already be awoken, and now he'd make the most of it. "Tell me something, how do you think, being a well grown wolf now, that you may make such a transition, from that of List, to a night hunter, such as myself?" A smirk was shortlived, cold saphire optics met those of his. The wolf's answer wouldnt go to waste, mere fun to put a wolf on the spot. It amused him ever so much, to struggle to fit in. Cruel? Not at all, just wait until the scale begins to tip. Then no longer is it fun and games. Like the old times.

Orion would have flicked one of his golden striped ears foreward at the second's words of silk hisses, but he thought against it. He needed to show them, show them that he wouldn't be shoved around, not even by the Second. Perhaps then, they would see him worthy of their vicious training. His question confused him slightly. Orion, truthfully, had only grown up in list for the first few months after his birth. It was after that that his cowardice came, and he had run away, becoming the varg that he was now.
"Sir...The transition would be hard, I know it would be. My parents crafted my heart soft, but I wish to harden it. I must grow stronger, more feirce. For that is the way of the varg, not to be pitiful such as my late sister were once." Orion's head slowly raised, but he wasn't being defiant. But instead helping to show Ziev how strong a varg he was. He was young as an adult, but already his muscles were finely tuned. He was definatly Bristol's son, sinuy strength thick beneath his ebony coat of fur. He was built to be a fast warrior, and he wished to be trained as such; a blood thirsty warrior whom did not care but was strong...something a son should be....something to be proud of.
"I promise you sir...I will work until my very last breath leaves my lungs....Through bites, through scratches, through snarls and growls, I will give my life to please you and the first....I only wish to be the best....and I know that the Night Hunters are, the best." Orion wasn't kissing up, he was being truthful. The Balkar were known for being cruel and vicious vargs. Maybe even mad. But they were a strong pack, full of warriors, hunters, vicious things that were sometimes stronger then most wolves were. Though Orion wasn't necassarily evil, he wished to gain some of that strength the Balkar were famous for.....even if it ment turning Evil himself..
(no kidding...x.x' Sheesh....stupid writers' block)
