((Ok, I've been gone a while so I'm a little rusty.))
Could she really remember how long it had been since she had wandered from the Koran? Was it two, three, even four moons since she had last wandered around her Pack territory? All that Amore could be sure of was that there had been a change in leadership - that was obvious from the scents surrounding her. Where once the white Drappa, Tarkah's, odour had been the msot dominant, the most strong scent in the Hybrid's nose, now there were two center scents, engulfing Tarkah's. Although she barely recognised the male's, it had been so long since she had seen him, Amore identified the faemme's instantly as that of Phantom, one of Amore's closest friends. The newly-appointed Drappa had welcomed Amore despite her dual heritage, opposing her Mate, Kadin, whom had been prepared to chase the white fae from Koranian terra. And now it seemed that Tarkah had passed on her status to Phantom and Kadin. A small shadow of a smile flittered across the Hybrid's maw, it was a new age for the Koran, a fresh leadership. And that could only mean that there were new Betas too. For a few fleeting moments, Amore wondered if perhaps her friend, Kai, had been appointed as Beta Mann. Of course, it seemed a natural choice, but this was the opinion of a wolfdog who hadn't been around Koran recently, nor did she know all the members.
Kai, of all her memories of her Packmembers, the ones with Kai were probably the most deep. Never had Amore confided in anyone and neither had they confided in her apart from the black warrior. It had been the night of Zhentee's death, and - unable to contain his grief - Kai had run away from his adopted Father's death bed. Witnessing his sadness and feeling utter compassion for the black wolf, Amore had followed him, followed him until he stopped and let it out. It had been then that they had first become aquainted. Since then, the white fae had a certain fondness of Kai, though it was no different from the fondness she felt for Phantom.
Her thoughts turned to her position in the Koran. Would she still be the Healer Apprentice? And if she was would Snowy take her on again after her recent abscence? Nothing was certain at this moment in time.
((It sucks.))

((I'm a bit rusty as well, so no worries. It's good to have you back!))
The morning air was light and crisp, and was slowly making its way into the afternoon. Fenris showed his face much more often now, sharing his warmth with the land and dispelling the forest of Wolfbane's Winter. Surely the Lera had had their doubts about whether or not the harsh winter months would ever come to an end, as it was perhaps the worst winter Transylvania had ever seen. At least one Mann thought so.
Out on one of his daily patrols was an ebon Mann, long legs carrying him effortlessly over the softening terra. Though still in his youth, Kai was an experienced warrior of Koran and he held this position with pride. It was his ability to learn quickly and give his all that made Tarkah, his former Drappa and mother-figure, elect him as Beta of the pack. A welcomed rank that came with much thanks and appreciation on his part, but also with self doubt. Never in his life did he imagine he would obtain such a position, but now that he held it, he would keep to his promise of defending the pack at all costs, as well as helping to lead them alongside Phantom. Even if it meant risking his life.
Letting out a light sigh, the chilled air carried his breath as if on a cloud, and soon the mist disappeared somewhere among the trees. Nothing had happened thus far in the morning, but the warrior's luck was about to change. Pointed auds pricked forward at the sound of one approaching and his nostrils flared as he caught the scent. Dog... he thought bitterly, but that wasn't all. Mingling with the scoundrel's scent was that of his kind, wolves. Somehow it was familiar to him, it bore a resemblance to a Fae he knew once before. A fellow member of the Koran, he had not seen her in many moons.
Amore.
The hybrid Fae of the purest white had been the one to comfort him after Zhentee's death. He had opened up more to her than he thought was allowed, and it was she that had assured him that it was alright to do so. In that short time she had helped him to grow, and he wanted greatly to be able to see her again. Sure enough, he didn't have to wait long before her light form invaded his line of vision. Amber orbs shining bright, his slender maw transformed instantly into a wide smile as he bounded towards her.
"Amore!" he called without restrain. Stopping a few feet in front of his old friend he came to a quick halt, his black banner waving behind him like mad. Despite his superior position, his expression revealed he still had much of a pup in him as he danced around happily. Taking a moment to calm down, he bowed his head slightly to the ivory Fae and gave her a quick lick on the muzzle. "How have you been old friend? It seems like forever since I've seen you around." His handsome face was still turned up in a smile as he sat back on his haunches, anticipating the warm tones of the young healer.
((Horrible ending- I do apologize.))

A light breeze carried his scent toward her moments before his voice sang her name. Sitting up, Amore spotted her ebon friend leaping towards her on powerful long legs. Crystal orbs mirrored the smile on her face as she recognised Kai and the Hybrid delicately got to her paws to greet him, catching his friendly lick 'pon her muzzle and returning it, though she had to stretch up to reach him. Amore's pathetically petite anatomy - caught somewhere between a dog and a wolf - meant that the tips of her auds only just grazed Kai's chin, reminding her of just how small she really was. But despite this, Kai still seemed to have a slightly dominant air about him, whether it was his scent or the new way he carried himself Amore could not be sure; was her earlier suspicion that Kai could possibly be Beta correct? Oh well, whatever his ranking was now it was blatant that he could still have fun as his previous antics had shown.
"It has been forever, or at least many Moons," Amore answered his statement. "I suppose I simply wandered away from the Koran for a bit. I am not quite sure what drew me away but the important thing is I have returned now - and it seems like a lot has changed since my last appearance here." Her azure orbs flickered knowingly as she spotted his banner was raised up high. The slender fae's suspicion was correct, all she needed was to see his new dominant body language to be able to tell Kai had moved up.

((No worries, I'm kind of at a loss for what to write as well...))
Amber eyes blazed excitedly as he stared down at Amore. She was much smaller than him, a result of the dog's blood that flowed through her veins. Before he had met her, he had had the mentality of many other Varg in the forest; a sheer dislike for anything that carried the blood of dog within them. Hybrids were impure and their ancestors were traitors to the life of the wolf, but Kai had been able to shed this frame of mind, and rather quickly, when he first lay eyes on Amore and heard her speak kindly to him.
Her motions were much more graceful than his own, though he didn't feel foolish for letting his true self be known around her. She was more than just a pack mate to him, even if he was only a mere acquaintance in her sapphire gaze. She had helped him when it seemed no one else could, and although he hadn't been the only one traumatized on that fateful night, he had become a recluse in his own little world of sadness and grief, unable to realize that he was not the only one experiencing loss, and unable to care. Luckily, she had come along to help him, not to rise above his emotions, but to get through them, True, these things couldn't be rushed, and he had spent a bit of time away from the pack to reflect on his own life choices, but her loving words had rehabilitated him more than anything.
It was true; a lot had changed since Amore had been gone. He wondered if he was the first Koran Varg she had seen since her return, and it filled him with a sort of joy that it would get to be him to tell her the news. "I've missed you..." he said with an almost sad tone, much lower than he had spoken before, as he stared down momentarily at his paws. But this was no way for a Beta to act, surely. It would be a while before he grew into this new skin, and perhaps he would never fill it out completely, but he still had the pack's best interests at heart, and wasn't that what really mattered? "You're right, a lot has changed," his tone was now a bit lighter. "Tarkah has stepped down as Drappa while Phantom and Kadin have stepped forward to lead us. With that came a change in Betas as well, and I somehow managed to gain the position of one." The last words were spoken quickly, as though he was excited yet embarrassed and even seeking her approval of such a promotion. Keeping his head low, his amber orbs wandered back up to meet her azure eyes.
Amore felt herself mentally start at Kai's words and an odd knot in her throat for a few moments. Thankfully, she shed this within moments and smiled, noting the soft change of act within Kai as he realised that he was behaving contrary to the popular belief of Beta behaviour. The black wolf's next words were lighter as he informed the white fae of changes in the Koran since she had left, confirming her previous suspicions. Amore also noted how his last words were rushed and excited, like a young pup telling his mother of how he'd caught a mouse. It was sweet, but if Kai what if Kai was starting to see her as a motherly figure? Fenris, she could not have that, true it was that the Hybrid had come to Kai after Zhentee's departure to the 'other side' and it might be possible that she had replaced Zhentee in Kai's eyes in a female form, but hopefully this was not the case.
"Congratulations," Amore's voice was filled to the brim with warmth as she gazed up at Kai. What more could she say? The white fae hadn't been around recently, she knew nothing besides what Kai had told her, which was very little with no details. "Just remember that though your rankings changed you can still be the real Kai around me." Amore said, smiling, letting Kai subtly know that she had detected the change in him and was right now using intuition to tell that he felt he had to change and mould into a new Beta shape. Once that was said, Amore stretched up and licked Kai once upon his maw, affectionate but nothing more than a friendly gesture. Afterall, Amore had the feeling she was still helping Kai with himself, a task she had taken up when she had gone after him after Zhentee's death.

Upon the grassy knolls stood a white form, her pelt thinning as winter began to shed its form. Golden orbs sought out the distant hills and forests that decorated the little valley as the breeze carried the scents of welcoming life. Tarkah let out an inward sigh, her tail flickering in the wind as she took in the scents for herself, they were soothing to the taste and the senses and once again she felt as if she could glide upon the sightless foothills of the wind, and soar freely.
Her shoulders had been relieved of some of their burden with the passing of the leadership. And much to the drappas dislike, she was aging, like the sapling that had provided her shade the summer before, and before and before. Though know stood a willow that shook with its gracious fingers, beautiful and well adorned.
No sooner had Tarkah paused at the knoll did she then scent a scent that she she stored in the back of her scent banks. It was a scent that was familiar but not been used for a while. And what she remembered from it was 'dog'. Tarkah's spine bristled form the thought of dogs, to the past on how Koran had been breached by man and their hounds, how they too had tormented her brother's old pack, Frecne and toyed with her son's old pack as well, the ge Rad. But with this scent game the sweet topping to it, And the sweetness override the rank of dog. Tarkah knew her well, and she also knew that they did not start on the right foot. Tarkah as some could say had been to good hearted, a true motherly figure at birth she could not help but treasure and treat most as her own children, as she had her pack.
But today was different, today Tarkah knew that somewhere inside her, she held a loving grasp for the ivory wolfdog. And that love was as Tarkah so commonly used, was a motherly one. At first she had been weary of the hybrids joining, but she could not send her back to the lands of the kerls. Though to proud to admit her faulty judgment she had begun to get used to having the hybrid amongst them and when she had left Tarkah had been deeply dismayed. Though the drappa had thought no more on it as she figured Amore would never return.
But here she was, standing the scent of the hybrid wafting inthe spring air. Curious Tarkah sped towards the scent and there she found her Beta Kai standing and conversing with the unmistakable Amore. Tarkah stood, not knowing how she should approach this situation. Would they still have the same awkward glance and a mere greeting? Tarkah took a step forward "Amore..."

((Sorry you guys! I figured you would have went on without me :-/ I just need to be kicked into gear sometimes. Grah, shameshameshame. Sorry again for the wait.))
He waited eagerly, yet with apprehension at what she might say. Of course, he hoped to hear that she had missed him as well, though more than likely she had been too busy with her own business to have thought about her much. Truth be told, though he was now a Beta with more responsibilities than he had had to deal with prior to his promotion, he still found his mind wandering often back to the night of Zhentee's death and the new friend he had found in her.
Finally, after some consideration, she spoke; her voice was filled with warmth and kindness and eased the chilling silence that his mind had started to build. He felt his own maw pull into a wide grin to match hers as she consoled the inner turmoil his heart had taken on since his promotion, even though he tried not to let it show. She finished her short speech with a tender lick on his muzzle, and though affectionate, he could tell she meant nothing more than to be his friend. He valued their friendship greatly, but was a bit let down on the inside. He wouldn't show it, though, for he was part of something bigger than himself and his pup-hood fantasies.
He was also somewhat distracted by a rushing sound in the distance. A familiar scent in the air told him that it was Tarkah, his former Drappa, though he would always look up to her as his mother and the real Drappa of Koran. No disrespect meant towards Phantom, but it was just the way he saw things, perhaps due to the bond they had forged since his entrance into the Koran. Dipping his head low in respect for the motherly Fae, she stood in amazement at the sight of the hybrid before her, much as he had done, he was sure. Quietly, his gaze rose once again as he waited to see what would unfold.

Once again, Amore very very slightly sensed a minute change in Kai's general feelings, only this time she chose to ignore it and instead focused her attention on the new familiar scent that rushed toward her. It's owner was a Varg Amore had once feared, dominating the Koran and having particularly sharp feelings toward the ivory half-breed, but now it barely held its former dominance and was far more kind on Amore's nose. She sensed none of the former negative feelings that were once barely masked. Infact, the difference in the scent confused the white fae, and it took voice confirmation for her to realise that it was indeed her former Drappa, Tarkah. Despite Tarkah no longer ruling the Koran, Amore realised that the white wolf may not consider allowing her to re-enter Koran, for though she had not officially left, Amore had still disapeared for quite some time. Instinctively, she took a small step nearer Kai - their fur brushing and sending an odd tingling throughout her body that lasted less than a second. She soon realised that she was reddening under her snow-like fur, but Amore mentally shook it off, determined not to look too intimidated by Tarkah.
"Greetings Tarkah, I see your position has shifted since I left," Carefully, Amore kept ehr voice neutral, worried that tipping the balance in any way would not react in her favour. Saying this, Amore kept silent, not knowing how to continue. The situation was probably as awkward as it could possibly get and she didn't want to make it worse.
A second. no minute, or was it an hour that had seemed to lapsed as the two white canines stood opposite eachother, as quiet as the clouds above them. And finally the older one spoke. "yes it has.." Tarkah started, sensing the silent tension in Amore's stance. But now silence again. The drappa knew why, as the two of them did not start off on the right paw to begin with. Her tassel shifted slightly to the right. The young hybrid had grew since she had left and Tarkah noted this. She remembered when she had almost repelled the young cub back out to the harsh winter of Trasnlavania, though at a split moment the white drappa had changed her mind. Perhaps it was pity? A change of heart? Maybe Amore had silently won a place in Tarkah's heart. Either way the white wolf had quite the weakness. Though some believe that it is the strongest power of any ability. The strength of maternity. And the white wolf had a knack for becoming overly maternal.
Over time Tarkah's heart grew warm to Amore, the motherly instinct taking over her once more, though the drappa had grown to confident to break. But here she was again and indeed Tarkah had noticed her being gone. The white drappa looked to Kai giving a gentle smile before turning back to the ivory wolfdog. Her face had relaxed now and Tarkah's lips curled into a soft smile. A smile Amore would most likely not have been quite used to. Finally words broke the silent air "Koran has missed you, as well as I" The white drapap spoke, her voice as genuine as could be as dipped her head in a formal welcome.

((Amore said she wanted to try and continue this, so I'll post what I can with the position that Kai's in right now))
As Tarkah approached and Amore realized who it was that had come, Kai could sense a tension in the air that made him uneasy. What had happened between the two of them to have had such bitter feelings, he was unsure, though if he had to guess he would say that it stemmed from Amore carrying the heritage of domestic dog within her veins. Tarkah, like most wolves, was not very fond of hybrids or dogs i general, believing them to be impure betrayers who had no right to walk the forest with their pure-blooded ancestors.
He started slightly as he felt Amore's pelt brush softly against his own; the two contrasting shades of their fur, for a moment, coming together. His spine and hackles tingled at the bristling sensation and he could feel his face growing hot beneath his fur. Embarrassed, he awkwardly shifted his gaze to the ground beneath his feet and pretended to disappear; letting the encounter between Amore and their former Drappa commence.
At the sound of Tarkah's calm reply,he couldn't help but lift his amber gaze and return her compassionate smile withone of his own. It seemed that whatever bitterness between the two of them had been abolished, and the rare bond between wolf and wolfdog had been forged once again.

An age seemed to pass before Tarkah spoke - and it did nothing to soothe Amore's rising doubts. Although the white Varg had stepped down as Drappa, she still held a great influence over the Pack due to her popularity. A popularity that significantly bore over Amore's. Of course, it was partially due to her duel heritage, but probably more to her recent absence - something that would not have thrilled her peers. Gazing into Tarkah's eyes for a few moments, Amore thought she caught a flicker of something, some emotion that the former Drappa had never directed toward the hybrid; was it tenderness? Maternal even? Whatever it was, it was hard to replace the white fae's first impression of Tarkah. Even now, Amore could still remember when she entered the Koran. Weak and an outcast in the wildernest, the hybrid fae had turned to her last source of hope, a Pack. She was risking everything, afterall some Varg have been known to kill their canine counterparts and a hybrid was often seen as an abomination. And she had at first been recieved as such. Amore had entered the Koran by the skin of her teeth, thanks to Tarkah's last minute change of heart. But, if her senses were correct, it seemed that Tarkah had accepted the slender youth.
Despite their mixed feelings and the tension in the air, Amore still felt a tinge of happiness. Knowing she had Kai beside her at this awkward time sent a slight shiver through her body - though it was barely noticeable. Grateful for his prescence, Amore leant into him slightly, though kept her gaze fixed on Tarkah, taking in her words.
And just like that, the tension dropped a notch. Returning the former Drappa's smile with a warm one of her own, Amore bowed low to the white wolf. With Tarkah's support and of course that of the Beta Mann, fitting back into the Koran should be simple enough. "I am glad that my absence fly completely over our Packmates heads," She said carefully, thinking through her words. "I wish to return to my post as the Healer Apprentice. On my wanderings I picked up many tricks and lessons on herbs and their uses, it would be lovely to help others." Breaking her cyan gaze from Tarkah, Amore flashed Kai a little smile, meeting his eyes for a few moments. Once again, her throat seemed to knot up a bit, and she looked awy again quickly.

((Got antsy and couldn't wait- sorry Tarkah. If you want me to, later I'll edit/rearrange this post.))
After minutes of feeling like the three of them were suspended in mid-air, everything finally seemed to fall into place. The tension was broken, and they could breathe easy once again. Letting out a deep sigh, his breath suddenly caught noticeably in his throat as he felt the petit frame of the ivory hybrid leaning comfortably into his broad shoulder. Shocked by his own feelings for her, it was especially surprising to see that she might be returning some of the affection he held for her. That, or his lonely and eager mind was only jumping to conclusions. Either way, he flashed her a small smile, suddenly feeling much more shy than he had been previously.
At Amore's set of words, Kai could only disagree in silence. It didn't go over my head, he thought in somber objection. He had been all too aware of her absence, all but counting the days until her unforeseen return. She, along with sketchy images of his old friends, had entered his mind many times since his admission into Koran and the fall of Zhentee. Now that she was back, he could think of little else. Feeling her sapphire gaze upon him once again, he withdrew his attention from the ground, shifting his amber orbs to fall upon the beauty of her face. She turned away first this time, and he was thankful that he hadn't been the one to do it this time. "I'm sure everyone else will be glad to see you back too, Amore. She really does have a great talent for healing." The last part of the phrase was directed more towards Tarkah, though his eyes were stils fixated in Amore's direction. "A talent worth appreciating, to be sure."
