As the dust of play settled, all had not gone as the bi-hued fae had foreseen in her mind. The possibility that the Ge-Radian had taken this game too far was now possibly as real a scenario as the fish that lay dead underneath the charcoal beta. And it was only now at this moment, when Kai was still under the spell of shock as icy water dripped down his features, did the thought of just how grave things could get from here. The simple truth was this, Krystal was still a Ge-Radian, and a Ge-Radian had just intentionally splashed water on a high ranking official of Koran. Even if the intent was for play, the risk of carrying the burden of a broken alliance hung over the fae like of swarm of flies over a fresh kill. The life of play and joy was quickly slipping from her form, evident in a now limp tail and folded ears. The only question that remained in the fae’s mind, was why? What had caused the former Zanguzen to be so giddy and playful around Kai?
As Kai approached and stepped into the water, those thoughts were driven back into the mist from once they came. For it seemed time for Krystal to take responsibility for her actions. Each step made by the ebon beta was followed by a sea of ripples that bombarded Krystal’s legs, and too an observer, almost seemed to drain the life and strength from legs honed in the arts of speed and endurance. Yet it wasn’t the water at all, so much as it was the weight of uncertainty that zapped her strength and scattered her spirit into the four winds. “Kai I…” Krystal had begun to say once the ebon warrior had spoken. But her sentence would be unexpectedly interrupted, as the Beta of Koran suddenly went into a cleansing shake that banished the unwanted icy waters from his pelt, scattering it in all directions, including right at Krystal herself. It happened so quickly and suddenly, that the Lead Scout had no time or chance to evade it, and now felt as Kai once had, covered in the very act of flabbergast as he had been in only moments ago.
Drenched in the sudden shower, Krystal couldn’t help but laugh at herself outwardly, for ever thinking as she had. She was caught completely off guard, and deserved the surprise in which Kai had in store for her, a fact that was clearly painted on Krystal’s face as she gave the “I probably deserve that” look to the ebon male. As he in turn gave her a playful glance and a grin of enjoyment. Upon taking the offering of a meal, the two wolves now made there way on a pre determined journey to the Koran’s guest dens. The journey, not long at all, was mostly made in silence. Krystal was mostly in thought, recollecting on all that had transpired for the fae since the start of what would be a long journey of self discovery. There were still many questions that needed to be addressed; they lurked in the mist of the mind like specters in limbo, awaiting the time in which a clear destiny would be set for them, and a journeys end would at last be in sight.
Soon Kai and Krystal would be upon the den site. She stood silently, and watched with sapphire and emerald pools of serenity as the midnight Beta inspected the den. Giving words of encouragement and a look that seemed to reach into the soul of the Ge-Radian for acceptance; she placed Kai’s catch aside, and took a few steps towards the den, till she stood beside the male. His words were no less then genuine, and his hospitality and kindness spoke in a tongue that caressed the bi-hued fae’s auds like a lullaby to a tired cub. “You’ve been so kind to me Kai.” Krystal spoke softly, as she took her bi-hued gaze away from the den, and brought them on the Beta of Koran. “I don’t know how to thank you, for everything that you’ve done for me. I really enjoyed the time that we got to share, and I hope that one day you will come and visit Ge-Rad again.” She took a few steps into the safety and warmth of the dark den, but turned so that she could keep her gaze on Kai. “Kai, about what happened…” Krystal began with an unsure tone. “at the river…” As hard as she tried, Krystal couldn’t find the lyrics to express her thoughts and concerns about what had happened at Koran’s river. Sapphire and emerald pools would open themselves up to a golden gaze, in hopes that a message that could only be spoken through the eyes could be heard.
