The cold artic winds blew wildly the fresh snow that had fallen overnight in Transylvania. The white landscape glittered brilliantly from the sun's light, though the warm of it was not enough to overpower the wretched cold of the winter. The evergreens bent heavily under the weight of the snow, until finally with the push of the scurry lera or the force of the wind, unbent. The branches still heavily laden with the white created shadowy canopies, allowing the non-hibernating predators of the forest to be concealed in its shadow, waiting for the moment for their reveal. The still forest in the winter usually had barely any movement, most creatures of Tor and Fernis resting quietly underground waiting for the first breath of spring to awaken them from their slumber. But today, the air was filled with the thick scent of a peculiar mammal. The usually never ending white of Transylvania was speckled with a dark brown, the mass of elk moving like a wave through the forest, stirring the quiet and stirring excitement in for the concealed and hungry predators…<br>
Hidden under one of these overhanging branches was the grey wolf Drappa. Only her eyes being revealed to Fernis’s glittering light, her blue eyes shining eagerly at the sight of the mass of Elk. Talla had waited for most of the winter for this migration to take place. She was tired of bring home hare to Ge-rad, and this was an opportune not to be missed. She waited in complete silence with her daughter under the branches. This was her time to show her daughter how to hunt and how to provide for the Ge-rad family. Talla’s grin almost gleamed with pride to have her daughter out on her first hunt, and hopefully a successful one, her reward of completing her training for Hunter status would be a great feast in the den later that day. She knew it was risky to start out the training with such large lera, but she had watched Faris grow up and she highly believed that they were capable of bringing down one of these large mammals. Talla could remember her first hunt as well, it was her test to be accepted in Ge-rad in the first place, and she was later to become Huntress of Ge-rad before becoming Drappa. Talla contained her excitement of the hunt and looked calmly at Faris, “Are you ready?”
