Drifting along like a shadow the she-wolf loped over the the River bed. The new lght from the morning sun layed upon the ground in pools of light. Kahrui dipped her head, lapping up the cool moutain water. Minnows darted underneath the almost clear surface. The blue hued she wolf lifted her head to the sky, clouds floated above in lazy clumps of white. Though it was in dead winter there was an unusuall warmth in the air. Patches of snow here and there littered the earth, they now were more like a muddy slush than snow at all. The navy fae, with a swift movement jumped into the welcoming water.

Above the landscape sat a she-wolf. Alone and unsure of certain things that poisened her life. She pondered everything she had ever encountered. From pain and betrayal to the feeling of having a family. Shaking her head slightly, she suddenly felt a cool breeze, as if the wolf gods had something to say to her wandering ways. She gazed silently up at the sun and her pupils slowly adjusted to the light. Although, she turned her head away from it and trotted off the hill, in the direction of the river.
She padded slowly through an outcrop of trees, no longer having much snow. Indeed, the air was humid and it seemed to have a warm up-lift in the air. Falstaf could even see the dead shoots of summer grass as the decayed figures poked up throught the snow. Even though the weather seemed promising, she shuddered slightly as she walked over a suken spot in the earth. It smelled old with death. She decided to bolt, but thought better of it. For she was curious of it, but she was soon to learn that curiousity can be a bad value if you are trying to survive.
Abandoning the river she could see just up ahead, she went to the depression in the ground and slowly scraped away at the dirt and snow that had mixed. As she got deeper from the shallow surface dirt suddenly tumbled in. It was a hole.
She saw a glint of somehting red and almost a creamy colour, but couldn't make out the shape. After all it was only a portion of light that shone through. She approached it and scented that this place did have a haunting history. As she stood looking down upon it, she heard a small crumbling sound. With a sudden yelp she fell face first into the hole. It sent her tumbling through the dark, roots snagging her fur and limbs. Terrified, she let out a howl of anguish as she stood on the uneven botom of the pit. She turned her head to the left and a chill went through her entire boy. She was staring into the empty eye sockets of a wolf's skull. Backing away, she bumped into yet another object. This time a decaying body of another wolf. She turned from it and found that the pit was filled with bodies of various creatures, but mostly wolves. She ran to the sides and frantically tried leaping up, but they were too high. She now knew her doom and her entire being showed it. She was trapped in this pit filled with who knows what and no one knew she was here. She let out a eerie howl and sat down with as her eyes shone with their defeat.

There was still that bitter chill in the air that winter often stole apon the world - not even Fenris could make much of an impact on heating the earth's exterior - however as time ewnt on through the day so too did the snow slowly begin to melt and grow to slush. It was growing humid and Sarlic didn't like it at all.
Growling deeply to himself he began to mumble and mutter as he always had done, his head twitching to the side as if it had an odd kink, so too did his muzzle spasm and his legs and tail would often shudder at random points of his journey - he gave the first appearance one that was crazed and mad with a hidden past.
The sound of a passing and traumatic howl caught the twisted kerl off guard and suddenly he stopped in his tracks, hackles rising and his lips twitching into a bizzare snarl, snapping his jaws at the air around him as though to threaten a being that only he could see. But as the howl subsided his yellow/green eyes began to flicker with malice as his auds flexed back and forth aloft his head. There was fear in the air, and Sarlic liked it!
With a sudden bound he bounced as if to catch a bird in flight before padding swiftly to the spot where he had heard Falstaf's terried call, body held low to the ground as he journied in an almost zig zag pattern. On reaching the great pit he barked and yelped in fright as he too almsot fell into it's depths, but catching his footing he bounced back and started to snap madly at the air, grunting and snarling wildly.
In replacement a cruel grimace spread forth on his twitching maw as he peared down into the pit to see the faint outline of a terrified wolf. He began to chuckle and snicker to himself before the not to distant echoes of splashing caught his ears. Looking up and out towards the river he saw yet another wolf swimming stupidly in the icy water. Had she fallen? Or was she looking for death to catch hold of her like the cold? Whatever it was, it made Sarlic laugh in a manic tone.
The tri-hued pelt of his was still thick with winter, but it was scruffy and matted, inclean and ungroomed. you could tell he was a Kerl, but you could not believe that he was a wolf with his awkward stance as he swayed back and forth eyes glimmering with a crazed and phsycotic glare.

Lurking within the depths of the pit, Falstaf was still there. How she would escape was a mystery, for her future looked dim. She neded help or at least someone there to know she was trapped. She didn't want to perish in vain, her death unknown. But perhaps she was taking this too drastically. A pit, that was all it was. Some way she would get out and the danger would soon pass.
Suddenly she was aware of a presence above her. It's shape blocked out the only light that illuminated the pit and she growled softly at it. The figure was definitly lupine, with cold staring eyes. His coat shaggy and ungroomed. But not knowing of his history or his being a kerl, she called out. She felt calmed by another varg's appearance. "Who is there and what are you doing there, gaping at this? I would appreciate it if you would say something." She looked at him with a glint of her eyes that was cold, but still not unwelcoming.

The voice from below turned his attention once more and this time his auds perked forwards as he peared down through the pit once more, yellow ochre orbs dancing with his madness and insanity.
The wolf appeared to be female, or at least that was how he interprited her vocals - but the light was so dim that he could not see her outline, shape or pelt colours. His maw cricked into another malformed grimace as his paws kept shifting and padding on the spot as he began to mutter and chuckle to himself.
He could only speak to himself, it was hard for him to communicate now with other vargs or other species...it jsut wasn't in his capabilities no longer. But still he tried by speaking up...but it made little difference as the words merely rolled from his tongue and were of jumping tones. "Talk...not...what...river...varg...kill!!" With the last word he yipped and pounced back from where he leant over the edge and began to jump around madly as he barked and snarled, tassel wagging furiously as his entire body shuddered with the word.
Finally he came to a stand still, tail held high as his maw was parted and mutters and grunts emitted once again from it's depths. He gazed back to the varg out along the river's side and he lowered his head so that it was in line with his protruding shoulder blades and spine - this could be fun.

Falstaf had asked the question fom the varg above, what what answer he gave, she did not expect. A chorus of jumbled words, but they still had meaning. Although, confused by what they did mean, she trampled the ground under her nervously. After all, she was in a pit filled with decomposing bodies and here was a mad varg refusing to help.
She growled to herself out of frustration, but soon stopped. The male had turned around from the edge of he pit. She couldn't see what he was doing, but his words went through her mind once again. river...varg...kill She didn't like the sounds of it. It seemed as sentence fit together from it, but not involving her imprisionment. It all made more sense as she realized that he wasn't looking down at her anymore.
. "Come back! I demand you do! I don't care what you are setting off to do, but I want a few things explained first!", she cried out frantically. For she hoped he would turn around.

Kahuri splashed in the depths of the cool water. Shr padlled aroound, like a cub. Though she was odler now the she-wolf had never really grown at heart. She was still the same old pup. It wasn't until she picked up a scent did the varg halt. Her nose twiched as she tested the air, her hackles rippled along her back. There was another wolf some where, no wait two. As Kahuri contined to sniff the breeze she noticed the familar tone, then it hit her Falstaf! She had not seen Falstaf in a long time, and she really missed the kind she-wolf. With out even seeing the two watching eyes the blued hued varg trotted playfully up a small slope. It wasn't until she had reached the top when she saw the other wolf, standing there. He had a strange expression. Almost confuised yet fierce and angry. Still Kahuri tried to be friedly. "Hello," she said in a cheery voice. "My name is Kahuri, did you see another she-wolf around here? She is a good friend of mine." Kahuri dipped her head in her own way of greeting others. But when he didn't answer she simply turned but then looming in frot of her was a pit. Death hung in the air like a fog over a marsh. But when she saw who was in it she really got panicked. "Falstaf! Are you okay?!" the she-wolf cried feeling helpless as her friend sat at the bottem. "I'll help you!" (Okay I did not read all the posts, make that most of then so Falstaf you did land in a hole right?)

((Yeh you got it pretty much right )) The voice of Falstaf had no more inpact on his mind and he stared at the new wolf as she padded towards them. She sopke with kind words to him, and it made him tingle with joy. She was an attractive wolf with a curious scent on her, but it only brought back bad memories and he growled deeply to her, mumbling words to himself that she would not be able to interpret or even understand, for what did mindless mumblings mean to others anyway?
His manic grin stretched across his muzzle and he yipped loudly at her, barking as if to attract the attention of all those who passed by. With a leap of his jerky, long skinny legs he bounded over Kahuri and nipped at her heels, distracting her from her fallen friend. After all, what could a wolf do to save one from such a deep hole? You were jsut asking to fall in and die yourself.
He barked at her with his tail held high and let it sway furiously. He would lul her into a sense of security and then have his way with her. He would never fall in lvoe again...not if it ended up your heart turning black and splintered by hurt and misery. Madness was his only love now. Yellow ochre eyes stared at Kahuri with a penatrating gaze and he lowered his head, stepping back slowly, trying to make her follow his crazed glance. Though he was slim, long stick like legs with an unkept and grubby coat, his eyes had a strange beauty to them, however manic they were.

Falstaf, realizing that she was doomed, sat on her haunches and laid her head on her paws. No, the crazed wolf would not reply to her. She could now tell that he was indeed a Kerl. Quite alone and lost. He probably used to be a kind fellow..., she thought with remorse.
With the scent of death and the decayed bodies in her nostrils, she could hardly smell anything that drifted down from the air above now. Yet she heard a familiar voice very close, asking for a she-wolf.
She got up, yipping silently to herself. It was Kahuri! So long had it been that she had seen her. She wagged her tail happily as she came into veiw. For within the safety of freinds, she still had hope. But a dark shadow crossed her mind: How would she escape? Surely it would be nearly impossible to climb up the earth wall. She scratched at it and it crumbled beneath her paws. Shaking her head she turned her attention to Kahuri. "Kahuri, my friend! It has been so long! But you have to help me! I am stuck in this dreaded pit...with wolf bodies. She shivered as she said it, but waited to see Kahuri's face yet again. But another thought was there. Of course! The kerl was lurking around here too.

The she-wolf cocked her head watching the stranger. She wagged her tail weakly. He wanted her to come with him, but why? There was a wolf in trouble, shouldm't he care? "I am sorry, but I cannot come with you. I must help me friend." Kahuri spoke in her same smooth voice, that was always kind. She turned back to the pit, where her dear friend Falstaf now sat at the bottem. Carfully the blue hued she-varg looked over the edge and shivered, there were bodies, dead lifless forms of wolves. She knew that she need to get Falstaf out of there, Now! "Falstaf, i will..." her voice broke off, what was she going to do? Finally an idea came to her. "I will find a limb and try to pull you up! Just wait!" Kahuri turned almost bumping into Sarlic. "Sorry," she whispered then bounded off frantically searching for some stick or branch.

Falstaf saw Kahuri above. She sighed with relief. Good, the other strange wolf didn't harm her. For she didn't know what to trust. Many she had come upon and they betrayed her. All life is sacred. She had learned this the hard way. Life must not be wasted upon foolish actions, so she always had to be careful of whom she came across. Every varg deserves respect.
Yet, Falstaf waited patiently for Kahuri to return. There was nothing to say, as she was alone again. But with hope, she was never alone.

xXYay someone got on!Xx
Kahuri finally ran back to the hole, a young tree grasped in her jaws. It had fallen down and the root no longed reached into the ground, making it easy to pull out of the earth. She wasn't even sure if this was going to work, Falstaf was by fact older than she was. So how was she suppose to pull out of the trap alone. Alone... the word repeated in her head. Yes, the kerl, he could help. But the problem was would he help? The she-wolf dropped the young tree into the hole, it was just long enough. Now was the hard part. She turned to Sarlic, walking up to him. "Excuse me, but I need help. My friend she has fallen into the pit over there, as you have probably seen. I need your help to pull her out." there was a pleaing tone in her voice, Falstaf could starve to death if she was left in there.
