A silver paw lightly tapped at the water's edge and contracted back to shore as the cold streaming liquid stung at his fur. The timber mess stumbled backward away from the icey depths and fell in a sitting position. The juvenile shook his head and unsteadily regained his balance.
Standing on all fours the pup staggered back to the water and licked his chops before lowering his stained ivory muzzle into the thirst quenching substance. Slowly at first but then gaining confidence over the cold he lapped up that much needed drink and let his tired body rest.
Birds high above him in the barren trees shrieked their calls and made their jokes about the little lost pup that could barely have enough courage to face the icey cold water let alone suviving the harsh Winter.

The frozen ground blanketed the land beyond the forest in white, and the clouded heavens looked down drearily. Bland spruce trees stained the land, and a river that never stopped rushing swept a crack along the ground. A dark cub trotted near the steep bank, light enough so as not to fall through the hard snow. Her eyes were the still blue of a cub, and a clever wrinkle was on her brow. She stared into the rushing water and the ice that clutched onto the bank thoughtfully, and her mind was whirring as Rachie’s always had.
The river was thinning she noticed, and the ice was beginning to become more and more often, while the babbling began to die. Her thirst cracked at her throat, and Evander began to long for a drink. She came to a stop and looked over the edge of the bank. It was steep and wet, and only a thin edge was at the end, so that she would have to narrow herself against the dirt. She looked back at the drop off and calculated. The dirt was like wet clay, and her small paws would fall into it, she shouldn’t have trouble going down. With twinkling eyes at her discovery, she put a courageous paw into the mud. It sunk in, and so she placed another, she sunk in again. Carefully she began to lower herself down, nearly being swallowed up to her shoulders. But she was soon placing her front paws onto the muddy ledge below, and with a wriggle of her rump, she jumped. Her back legs flew to the side as planned, but as her clumsy paws hit the ground they swooped out in front of her, and with a yelp, she fell partway into the water.
Wet seeped into her thin fur, and she jumped up to her feet as if she had never been on her back, and then fell into the mud, panting hard from her surprise and cold. With pricked auds and narrowed eyes, she glared at the little pool in the ice. But she stepped forward and began to lap up the chill water. When she was done, she stared at the ice, and curiously, she touched it with her paw. It broke. She jumped at the crack, and looked surprised at the ice. She didn’t know it was solid. She placed her paw on more ice, and again it fell so suddenly she almost plopped into the water. She scrambled upright and then she wanted to walk on it. But it was to thin even to place a paw on it, and so she began to run downstream, and the river narrowed while the ice thickened.
And then she placed a paw on the water and it held, and then she placed the other. “Ha,” she growled victoriously, her eyes shining in delight. “I can walk on water!” Then she looked up and froze. A wolf was looking back at her.

With lazy steel gray eyes Kurtz glanced up at the birds that confidently made jokes of his loniless and he gave a look the gestured spoken words that would say "You wouldn't be saying that if you were on the floor" They flapped their wings annoyingly and gave screeching caws to shoo him away. Kurtz turned from the pests and his gaze fell upon that of a small fae, her pelt was beautiful and soft like his and she had a sparkling hint of cleverness in her eyes. She gave off an intelligent air even for a pup and he in turn froze in her presence. The young mann's gaze upon her was steady and certain, he wasn't to frightened after all she was just like him, what did he have to fear from her? His tail wavered from dominance to subordinance until finally peaking to the top and bristling with confidence. Kurtz let out a pup like growl to show his position in the situation. "Who might you be?" his eyes narrowing with an impatience.

Steadily Evander’s eyes started to narrow, until she was glaring at the other cub. She didn’t feel wary or scared, but annoyed. She couldn’t let this cub be more dominant. She lifted her tail high over her head and growled, but her eyes were glinting mischievously. She gave a cunning flick of her tail before raising her head up high. “I might be more dominant then you are,” she growled.

((Kurtz has kinda changed a wee bit btw!))
Kurtz’s tail flickered in curiosity, this young female before him was quite a persistent one in proving her worth. He however, was not any longer driven to show confidence in his step, in fact he was very mellow and rather unemotional. A lifeless like stare ceasing to fade from his face whilst he watched Evander.
Her words held an unchallenging tune to him, yet it seemed to amuse his persona. If it weren’t for his vocals being torn out he would have spoken in reply to her. So he had to gesture what thoughts were running through his head and at this moment there was none. Only blankness as he stood onto his paws and let out a relieving stretch, his muscles finally loosening from the cold winter’s bite. Pivoting on his heal he began to head away from the pup; there was nothing that needed to be mimed. [/center]

Evander waited with the mischievous grin on her face, her darkened auds pricked high up on her scalp. She wagged her tail playfully, wanting a good natured romp with the male. But he only stretched, unconcerned, and began to walk away. Evander looked after him, never feeling as insulted as she was now. She danced clumsily to the side, craning her neck and trying to see the expression on his face, in case he was playing. But he didn’t seem to be, and the browning eyes suddenly turned to angry slits in the stubborn cub.
“Hey you, stupid,” she growled fiercely at him, bouncing on the snow as the words filled her small body. “What’s the matter Sikla, to afraid to play?” She let her insulting words cut through the air as she waited with a raised tail. There was no way she could get to him, and she had to just talk to him instead of tackle him.
