Lykaios padded quietly through her new pack territory. She couldn't help but feel joy welling inside her. She finally had a pack to call home. Lykaios turned her head up to bask in the sunlight filtering through the trees. It was a beautiful day, and she felt like she could do anything. She looked at the forest around her taking it all in. She had only been here but a few days, and she already felt quite at home.
Lykaios scented the wind and listened to the sounds of the forest. This was truly what freedom should feel like. Her blue eyes lit up in excitement. It was such a gorgeous day. The open air was clean and fresh, and Lykaios flicked her tail happily. Enough sight-seeing I need to stretch my legs, she thought to herself.
Feeling now quite comfortable she padded through the trees at a brisker pace. As she picked up speed Lykaios felt the freedom of the varg rush through her. Before she knew it she was darting through the trees; dodging rocks and roots it her path. It was an exhilerating feeling as she raced on. Her fur was plastered to her body by the wind. As she continued to run everything around her became a blur and she could hear her heartbeat in her ears. In her excitement she didn't look where she was going, and she was bound to crash into something.

// i had a better post typed out, then my comp when boom. bear with me. //
Phantom's ears pricked, breaking the spell of her daydream. The sound of galloping paws echoed softly through the trees. The Drappa of Koran stood, every muscle on her dark brown body taut and ready to deal with any invaders, be they Balkar or Kerl. But she relaxed once the scent reached her.
This Varg was of Koran, a new addition to the pack, in fact. The name came to her- Lykaios, a female pup with bright blue eyes. A blur of gray fur flashed past her, confirming that the cub was running, blissfully enjoying the beautiful summer day. Phantom caught a brief glimpse of the cub as she jet past- she looked very happy, and completely unaware of just how fast she was going- or where she was going. Phantom grinned as memories of her own cubhood flicked her for mind’s eye. She used to run through the territories like that too, and once she ended up bruised at the bottom of a steep hill. She chuckled to herself. Those were the days.
Amused but concerned too, Phantom launched herself into a run. Her long legs carried her effortlessly over the terrain with unnatural silence. Eventually, she caught up to the pup, and began running alongside her.
“I’d slow down if I were you,” she warned, grinning. “I barreled off a hill doing this when I was your age.”

((evil computer D:))
Lykaios skidded to halt just front of a fallen log. Smiling nervously she padded over to her drappa.
Dipping her head respectfully she muttered, "Sorry, Phantom. I'm just so excited." She chased her tail playfully as it remained just out of reach. With a more up beat tone she conyinued, "I just love it her. It feels good to be part of a pack again. Varg's aren't meant to be on their own for too long..." She swiveled a large ear towards the sound of shuffling to the left of her. Before she could continue her long-winded speech Lykaios pounced playfully towards the sound.
Turning around she showed of her quarry..a stick from the ground. She wagged her tail proudly. "I'm ready to hunt for the whole pack!" Lykaios felt her own eagerness surge through here paws. "Look at this catch," Lykaios added with a laugh. She was willing to do exactly as she said. Her pack was now her main concern, and she was determined to show all the loyalty she had within her.

The cub came to a screeching halt just as she was about to slam into a rather large log. She muttered an apology just as Phantom trotted up beside her. “No need to apologize,” she said, smiling. “I just wanted to make sure you didn’t get hurt. Just watch where you’re going next time, all right?”
“Well then, you have a reason to be excided then.” Phantom watched as Lykaios’s expression grew happy once more as she chased her tail around in a circle. The older female nodded approvingly at the pup’s words. “Yes, no Varg should be on her own. The life of a Kerl may be a better way of living for some, but I know for a fact that it is a very lonely life, especially for a young wolf.”
This was true. After the death of her parents, Phantom had been taken in by her older brother, Tante, who was a Kerl. They lived together for only a season, for her brother was soon killed by a Man hunting for fur. Phantom spent many of her young days wandering alone and hungry. Until, that is, she found refuge in Koran.
Her memories were vanquished as Lykaios bounded off again, and brought back a stick proudly, just as she would if it was a small lera she just caught. “I'm ready to hunt for the whole pack!" the pup exclaimed, pride and determination shining in her blue eyes,
Phantom gave a hearty laugh. “Oh, you’ve got a lot to learn before that day comes. But don’t worry.” She bent down and nudged Lykaios with her muzzle. “I can tell that you’ll be a fine hunter for Koran. You’re very fast and you’ve got lots of spirit in your body. That stick didn’t stand a chance- and neither will the Herla once you’re running after them.”

(ooc: sorry for the delay. I have more camp next week so...yeah.)
Lykaios stood tall as she accepted praise from her drappa. It had been a while since anyone had praised her like this.
"Thank you," she said giving a polite nod, but the was no disguising her happiness. "I'll make you all proud." With that she flicked her tail In another direction. "I should be off though. There's still so much for me to see here. I must find some of my friends who I know are here." With that the young wolf turned and leapt on top of the fallen log. "I'll be practicing my skills the whole time though," she chimed in just before she hopped down onto the other side in search of more adventure.
(yeah not much but I will have to leave for a while soon anyway)
