The last of Wolfbane’s snow had at long last fallen to the raise of Fernis’ light. His warmth caressed the earth, and bathed the world in his pleasant bliss. Life had begun a new cycle in the land Koranian’s called home. Too think, in such a short time much had changed in the blink of a wolf eye. A new Drappa and Dragga now ruled the Koran terra, and new ranks were shifted amongst the family Maverick found comfort in. A family the Koran guardian was assigned to protect. Every wolf held a precious piece of the Koran puzzle that made up the ivory male’s family. From the familiar faces of his Drappa Phantom, and his blood sister Tarkah, too the unknown sights of Tourniquet, Abisso, and even more interesting, the ebon Beta Kai. There was certainly potential to be found in the male Beta, potential that Phantom and Kadin must have recognized if they had chosen the male to be the Dragga and Drappa’s second. It was a potential that intrigued the fighters spirit that lay within Maverick’s ivory form.
His ivory paws felt the warm soil that made of the Koran terra as they took the lead warrior deeper into the Koran forests. Today would be a special day indeed. Now that the last remnants of Wolfbane were gone from the world, at the present, was the perfect season to begin the long awaited training in which perhaps many aspiring warriors had been waiting for. Much wisdom filled the mind of the ivory male, wisdom that would be now passed down to the younger warriors that could benefit from the experience Maverick had obtained. Such as the many fighting styles and techniques held by all four compasses of the earth, to the secret ways of clan’s not known by many Varg. Yet Maverick was fortunate enough to have studied this knowledge under the careful, but strict and often times harsh teachings of his former master and Dragga, Kanis. His golden orbs soon viewed a clearing in the forest where no trees had taken root. It would be the perfect place for a summoning howl.
The guardian now stood in the center of Koran’s forest with firm, unmovable ivory paws. His confident pools of golden bliss and secure form gave off the look of a proud lead warrior. His mission on this day would be to pass down the knowledge bestowed in the fountain of wisdom that lay within his cranium. A breeze of a new beginning swept the land of Koran from the east, causing the grass blades and newly born leaves to dance and tangle amongst themselves as a sort of tribal ballet of what was to come. His ivory banner and double coated pelt complimented the wind and swayed elegantly, as Maverick took in a long breath. His chest expanded as his open ivory maw engulfed the cool air around the former Dragga. With his muzzle now pointed to the clouds that hung high in the stratosphere, a deep howl took hold of Koran, and raddled the very leaves that still had much growing to do. His voice climbed ever higher, to the very tops of the trees before escaping them completely, and spreading out to the far reaches of his home. The summoning howl would fill every inch of terra to which Koran claimed, and called for anyone who wished to follow the path of the warrior.

(By god your posts are the best i have ever seen. ) The sound of that mighty and pure howl could be heard on high through every inch of the terra, many raised their head in recognition but so far none had taken the first step forward to become a pupil to the ivory warrior known as Mav. That was when the howl finally reached the lowered ears of a navy hued grey varg that sat his lonesome days aside the rest of the pack. Auditories lifting at the sound of that powerful howl it was followed with golden brown optics that turned toward the sound next as thoughts buzzed through the lone sikla's mind at the very thought of what Mav was calling for. As a sikla he was nothing really but a sort of lonesome varg left to the side until higher status called him. But if he never did anything then he would always be a lonely sikla and there was nothing about that that intrigued him in the slightest of a notion. Lifting on his large grey paws that sank into the warm dirt of the earth under his pads, the sikla decided that he was tired of doing nothing and was sickened by the fact he never did anything to prove his worth to this pack in which he had joined in hopes of letting go of his past and even that was not granted to him. Turning the Sikla was dead set on finally doing something to prove his worth to this pack wether it killed him or not. Maw opening slightly as he breathed in the crisp air around him he began a quick trot toward the direction the howl had birthed from. The eastern wind that brought the scent of change and new begining ruffling his navy hued back as he moved. His maw shut as he spotted the ivory warrior who had beconed forth all those who would come to him. Lowering his head in the slightest he continued to moved, slipping out of the treeline that in it's own way was a sort of turning point for those who would cross it. He stood silently in front of Mav without a word or sound escaping his chest or muzzle, he waited for the one before him to speak.

It seemed that Wolfbane's Winter was finally considering handing over the reigns to Fenris, if the impatient sun god didn't decide to overthrow the dark lord himself. Sparkling snow still blanketed the land in some areas where the sun's rays barely reached, but the stunning sparkle of frost was soon to be completely gone. Helping to dissipate the snow were perfect indentations; the prints from perhaps the most graceful animal in the forest. They belonged to a wolf.
Stepping lightly over the melting wonderland was a Varg as black as night, his streamlined frame moving effortlessly in long, calculated strides. On patrol, he was a warrior of the Koran pack, inspecting every inch of the terra thoroughly to insure the safety of his family. Pride shone in his brilliant amber orbs as they scanned the horizon for anything out of place. Seeing nothing, he wheeled back on his paws and trotted back off towards the dens.
Although Kai had only recently been promoted to Beta, he took the protection of his pack very seriously. Tarkah had been the one to take him in, after Zhentee had brought him to the land, and it wasn't just an obligation, but a conscious decision. Already a skillful warrior, he knew he could be a thousand times better if he put his mind to it and with the right training. One particular Varg came to mind: Maverick. The ivory brother of Tarkah had recently been admitted into the family, and now held the position of Lead Warrior. Kai had talked to him on a few occasions, and had been more than eager to learn all he could from him. Recently though, they had both been busy off doing their own things and hadn't had much time to talk, so Kai had found things of his own to do until Maverick was ready- which often included taking short 'vacations' from Koran territory.
Without warning, a booming howl echoed through the land, reverberating off the mountains and lingering in the air to leave a ringing in Kai's perked ears. It was the ivory Dragga himself, Kai could tell, and he couldn't help but begin to grin. Raising his own maw to the heavens, he let out a short reply that filled the silent space the other Mann's voice had previously inhabited. Then, bringing himself to a sprint, he bounded over the earth, claws providing traction and tearing up the turf as he ran faster and faster. Though he was a warrior, it was clear that he was built for speed as well.
Skidding to a halt, he looked around carefully, trying to pinpoint the light pelt of Maverick. Earlier on in the harsh winter months, he would have blended in perfectly, but as the snow slowly disappeared, he would be easier and easier to find. Finally, amber orbs settled upon the muscular form of the Lead Warrior. Padding up to him he dipped his head in formal greeting. "I never did have the chance to congratulate you on your new position. Was there something on your mind?"

//OOC: My apologies for not getting this up sooner. In truth this post was finished days ago, but I havn't found the time to get on the computer until now.//
His howl echoed into the far reaches of Koran, held proudly as it reverberated into the depths of the region. A challenge for any Koranian that felt as though they could protect the family they loved so much, a challenge to walk a most difficult path that no normal wolf could hope to take. A distinguished path that crossed with death’s door countless times, yet all was necessary if the safety of the pack was to be assured. For who else would willingly sacrifice their life if it meant the well being of that family was certain? It was a fate that Maverick was ready to take at anytime. And a proud death it would be if the ivory lead warrior could give his life to conserve the future. Skilled, cunning, adept to any situation, and a heart of boundless courage made up the path of the warrior, a path that Maverick had trekked a thousand times over, and a thousand more times he’ll walk those familiar roads until his last dying breath, when Tor and Fenris feel that the ivory guardian had completed his mission in life.
But as the final remnants of his booming howl echoed its last note, still none had answered his call. Not a single hymn of a reply could be heard. Perhaps if he waited a bit, someone would respond in time. For now though, all was silent around the guardian. The very woodland creatures that dwelled in the forest had long since gone silent after the howl of the lead warrior. Was there truly no Koranian that would take up his call? It certainly seemed so, until at long last, a reply howl was given. Short that it lasted, it was still a reply from someone. But who had made the song of the wolf? Who had responded too the challenge given by the former ivory Dragga? Two forms would appear from the darkness. The first, he remembered from an earlier encounter suns ago. The friend of Exerci he understood him to be, and was known by Koran as Tourniquet. Maverick’s golden orbs could easily see through the form of this sikla. Like many, he wanted to prove himself, and there would be no better way then to follow the path that was about to lie before him.
“Welcome, Tourniquet.” Maverick said, as he gave his own respectful bow in response. Upon lifting his head too meet the gaze of the sikla, he spoke again. “There are no Sikla here young one.” The guardian spoke, his voice gave off the presence of a true leader and guardian. The aura of a strong warrior emanated from his form, to which only that in-tune with the path of the warrior could sense. “It takes much bravery to accept this path that will soon befall you. More courage then any Sikla could ever hold, so arise to full height, Koranian tyro.” It was only moments later that the guardian’s instincts were set on alert, for another was near. This one had experience, had walked the path, or at least understood its many curves and dangers. His senses did not lie to the former Dragga, and his ivory auds stood erect and attentive. The noise made by Kai’s skidding turned Maverick’s golden gaze on the ebon Beta. He had expected the young warrior to answer his call, and had looked forward to his arrival. “Kai,” Maverick began, a smile adorned his scarred maw. “Thank you. It’s good too see you again, my Beta.”
Maverick dipped his maw in a bow to the Beta of Koran for a few moments. It was a strange feeling for the former Dragga. Kai was much younger then the guardian and more likely then not, far from the experience held by the lead warrior. Yet he ranked higher then himself, according to Koran law. But such was the decision made by Phantom, Drappa of Koran, and he would honor her words, with his life if came to it. “I have to admit, I’ve been looking forward to seeing your capabilities. My sister and our Drappa hold you with high regard. I’m honored, that you’ve decided to join us, Kai. Today I’ll begin training the warriors to be of Koran.” His tone was deep, honorable, and full of respect for both the Beta, as well as Tourniquet. A strong wind would continue to blow from the east, carrying the hopes and dreams of Koran as on this sun, wolves would be made into warriors. Now was the time to address the two Koranians who had shown interest.
“My brothers… Today is a new dawn for our family. With Fenris our gods blessing, and the blessing of our Drappa, if you are ready, I will guide you into the path that I have taken a thousand times over, the path of the warrior, as showed to me by my own mentor. But I cannont force this destiny on you, you must choose it willingly. I can only show you the path; it is you that must walk it. You are all my family now, my brothers. I do not look at you as underlings, but as equals with a common goal. To protect what we love so dearly. Protect what we love, with our very lives if need be. That is the path of the warrior. A path I will guide you through, if you are ready.” With that said, Maverick waited for the response from Kai and Tourniquet. Would they become his apprentices? Would they have this destiny placed on their shoulders? Their final decision would soon come. The fate of Koran’s future would rest with their decision, their path in life was now set before them. Even Maverick knew that he could not protect his family forever. There would come a day when he would fall, and with no kin to pass on his knowledge, the secrets of his experience would disappear with him.

Previously this cub had told the then-Beta Phantom, now newly appointed Alpha female, that he longed to become a warrior. However, for the first time in his life, Abisso was beginning to have second thoughts as he gazed at the trio of Vargs who had now formed. He stood downwind, fluffy banner resembling that of his German Shepherd kin was somewhat limp, at a loss without the usual wag and swagger he normally possessed.
Perhaps his sudden burst of doubt came from the awkwardness that was adolescence. No, Abisso wasn't growing up, he couldn't be. This was the sort of Varg, no matter how large and old he became, would still possess the naivity of a cub and still act as such.
And yet he wanted to be a warrior. Funny.
His awkward large form made him appear full grown, and yet his obnoxiously large ears and feet had another story to tell. Truth was, he was only half his full grown size, perhaps even less. It was his bloodline that made him rather large, and who knew how long it would be until he stopped growing? And by the looks of his clown-sized feet, he still had a lot of growing up to do. Not only physically, but mentally as well.
Lifting his large paw up, he took a step forward towards the trio, yet paused as the white male began to address the two.
Once again, a glimmer of doubt passed through his slowly-developing mind. What if he wasn't good enough? What if he was made out to be a fool? What if...?
Hey, what's the worse that could happen? Retorted the largely childlike portion of his mind, shoving the little bit of maturity he had back to the depths of his light-hearted mind. You want to be a warrior, right? Hello, this is training!
Tongue lolled out foolishly. Ah yes, here was the young Abisso we knew and loved. His apparently tense form loosened quite a bit, and he ambled down towards the three in a lively jaunt, banner waving as the awkwardly large hybrid came back to his childlike senses.
"Hey there!" he yelped in the voice only a male going through the awkward portion of his life could possess. Still possessing half of his cub-like vocals, yet lower and occaisionally cracking. Okay, so he was somewhat ruining the dignified moment. But at least he had a little sense to do such when the male was done with his speech.
Yeah, a little sense.
//Gah, no good...-.-//

Audotories slowly rose at the lead warrior's words and slowly the shadow of doubt that had weighed on Tourn's heart began to lift, he had turned his head and nodded to Kai in his usual silent greeting which was normal for him but his attention turned back to Mav as the Proud Ivory Varg began his words again.
Tourn was always a silent Varg and he let all the others do the talking and there was no doubt in his mind that if there was one varg that was worth listening to it would be Mav, as his words were always wise and laced with the tones of pride and kindness.
Golden eyes blinked slowly as he lifted his head out of the sikla position, almost eagerly since the position alway put a crick in his neck at one point or other and made it hurt to move his neck. He stood quietly in a normal stance that a lone varg might have taken as a stature of higher position, and for a lone moment the young sikla looked more then what he really was.
As Mav spoke his words he could feel some of that pride that was always there begin to enter his heart and a small smile creeped onto his muzzle, he kept his attention on Mav's words in careful examination.
When Mav was finished Tourn responded in the same manner he always had, Silently. He spoke not a word but moved to stand in front of the ivory warrior as his sign of accepting the path that lay before him, sikla or not.

((Sorry this took so long and isn't very good. Haven't posted in a while.))
Arriving alongside another Varg, he hadn't seen Tourniquet at first. Turning to him now, he smiled kindly and bowed his head politely. "Good morning, Tourniquet." Although he had learned not to expect a verbal response from the silent youth, it didn't hurt to tell him hello all the same.
"And you as well, Maverick" he said with a grin. He looked up to the ivory Mann a considerate amount, but when he heard the words 'My Beta' spill loyally from his maw, he was less than prepared. An old-time veteran of many years of experience, bowing to him as a lower rank? He should have known better to accept such a position when he was far from ready to hold it. Everyone had so much faith in him though, that he vowed he would do his best to fulfill it properly, even if he at times had his moments of doubt. His auds swiveled back and flattened for a moment as he wondered what to do. Letting out a short sigh and shifting his weight a bit, he smiled again and let his ears return to their upright position. "My capabilities, huh?" he chuckled, though on the inside he was more than a bit nervous. Proving himself to Maverick seemed as though it would be the hardest feat of all. "Thank you, Maverick. It means a lot that you would regard me so highly, much as I do yourself." He knew there was much room for improvement, however, and didn't mind learning alongside his other family members who pined for the position of warrior themselves. Perhaps he would learn a thing or two.
Following introductions, Maverick gave a short speech, a rundown of what he aimed to accomplish and hoped those around him would strive for as well. Though already holding the title of Warrior, Kai was more than up for the challenge to prove himself. Not only to show Maverick and the others that he had been rightfully chosen as Beta, but to prove to himself that his Drappas had not made a mistake as well.
Nodding to show he understood, he took one step forward towards the Lead Warrior, as though stepping up to fulfill a part of his own destiny. He had already made the first move in training with Tarkah upon his arrival and honing his skills best he could while living in Koran, though there was still much to be learned from a seasoned warrior like Maverick.
Before anyone could get another word in, the distinct sound of paw steps sounded from not too far off. Pointed auds swiveling, Kai moved to turn his head and his amber orbs caught the sight of Abisso. A young hybrid, Kai had met him once before alongside Phantom. He remembered telling her of how he would someday make a great warrior, with his mammoth frame and unparalleled energy. "Hey Abisso!" he said happily, black banner waving contentedly behind him. "You said before that you wanted to be a warrior, right? Now is your chance." Amber eyes shining bright, he turned back to Maverick. Having reverted somewhat back to his pup-like nature, he was eager to get the ball rolling.
