The sound of silance was completely dashed by a sharp yip, the pain was searing in his paw as the iron jaws clamped down on the flesh. Snarling angrily at himself for even stepping into the trap he tugged on his paw causing more pain and more tearing of the tender flesh of his paw.
Tourn hissed angrily as he bit on the iron jaws that kept him confined and in such terrible pain, his paw was throbbing from the force and the blood stained the silvery jaws of it. Biting it only served to hurt his own fangs, he whimpered and slid his ears back as he was finding it hopeless to escape the trap.
His golden brown eyes moved about quickly and he relaxd slightly as he heard no sound of a human approaching, he growled and continued to try to free himself until his energy was spent a while later and he lay down with his paw still enclosed in the trap.

Curled up in the midst of the snow was a drappa. Her tail layed gently over her muzzle as she tried to hide away from the cold. Her sleep gentle as the cold wind blew over her. The snow chilled her but her inner coat kept her snug. All seemed well and calm until the shriek erupted throguh the naked canopy.
Tarkah's head snapped up, her body uncurling as she blinked back the sleep that dissappeared. Tarkah rose to her feet as she pricked her ears swiveling them so she could detect the shriek better. It was quieter now but it was still evident. Tarkah scented the air, no sign of any apparent danger. Tarkah blinked scenting the air again. It was clearly a cry of a wolf. And he was definatly in Koran. But strangly Tarkah could not identify the voice right away. She gave a frustrated whine as she continued to scent and listen.
Her nares twitched once more and they caught the strong scent of blood. Tarkah shook out her coat and her paws were away. Kicking up the snow behind her the arctic fae sprang into a gallop. The cries and the scent was becoming much stronger now and so Tarkah slowed down. Her senses alert. She looked for any immediate danger and there she spotted the greyish form of Tourniquet. Tarkah lowered her head cautiously, her tail erect and her hackles spiked. She blinked wary of the danger that might come with Tourniquet. And there she spotted what he was doing, he was struggling feverishly to free his trapped paw. Tarkah let out a whine and dashed out towards the youth. Forgetting about the danger of an approaching hunter.
The femme scented the trap giving the male a gentle lick on the top of his head before he nosed the trap. "Tourniquet! Don't move." the drappa hissed. Worry plastered against her maw as she looked over it. the iron jaws seemed to be pulling tourniquet towards the ground. Tarkah licked his paw, careful at the tender area. Would they have to...chew it off?! Tarkah let out an exasperated whine but shook her muzzle. "Is it in deep?" Tarkah spoke looking into the distressed gold-brown eyes of Tourniquet.

Tourn listened to her and quit his struggles as his ears pricked forward to listen to her words, he blinked and shivered lightly with the pain "No...It's not deep." he replied, it wasn't deep but it was painful at any solid rate, he noticed that it was a bit rusted from being left out in the snow for too long but he didn't think that was enough to make it weak.
His fur was a little wet from snow and sweat and a few shivered traveled down his navy spine, he wasn't sure how to get out of this but he hoped to avoid the drastic option of having to chew it off. He kept his ears erect for the sound of a hunter but luckily the sound of crunching snow did not come to him but they still did not know how long it would be before they checked on this vile trap.

Tarkah nosed the trap once more, her tail curled and her ears keen for any sounds. Her nose travelled towards the iron jaws which clamped onto the leg like a hungry monster unwilling to let go of its prey. Tarkah nosed through the snow noticing how the monster seemed to be protrude from the ground.
Frustrated the she wolf gave a rough bark. Would they have to chew it off? She looked up to the navy dusted wolf, who was shivering slightly from the ordeal and cold. He could be kept alive, being brought food. But the injury would bring infection and the thought of humans coming back to praise the monster and take its capture away chilled Tarkah to the bone. They would have to get Tourniquet out and before the night set and temperatures dropped.
Tarkah licked the trap but gave a tiny jerk back, as if the trap would jump out at her as well. She let out a disgusted snort as the monster tasted disgusting. With a paw she scraped at the clamped jaws, but carefulled her blow when she remember Tourniquet would feel her movements.
It was not deep.
Good. Perhaps there would be some way to open the jaws. Maybe offer it another piece of scrap? No. It wasn't alive. It was another one of man's objects. Tarkah chewed on the trap, but it hurt her teeth, as everytiem she bit down allshe heard was a clang but to no avail. It was like a rock. yet shiny and tasted different.
An Idea then sprang to Tarkah. What if instead of Removing Tourniquet they could remove the monster? Tarkah looked over to Tourniquet as she padded closer to the root of the monster, encrusted by snow the white drappa began to dig, her iron coloured claws slashign at the icy slush as she dug around the trap

Tourn felt his trapped paw slowly going numb from the cold steel that was clamped into it's flesh but at least he could no longer feel the pain the iron jaws caused. The fur was caked in blood as well as the snow underneath but it did not seem that he had lost too much in this situation.
Tourn blinked and watched Tarkah with intersted golden brown eyes while studying her movements before finally catching on to her plan, it might work and he still hoped that they would not have to chew his paw off, no he would save that drastic measure for later if the trap was still on him by then which he hoped would not be the case.

Paws began to run cold as they dug deeper into the snow. The white drappa gave a grunt as she paused, ehr tongue hanging out as she panted, her breath visible and vibrant as steam in the frigid air. She brought her golden eyes back onto the injured leg, still clamped firmly around the limb. Tarkah noticed that the blood had stopped and clogged, drying up in the frozen air. But it would go numb and if Tourn couldnt feel it, then there would be no use in saving it if he had to chew it off anyways from the cold.
Shaking off the snow clung to her fur the drappa dove back into the hole which she barely made. It wasnt much but the frozen terra had made it twice as hard if not more to dig. Tarkah scented it nosing it and testign the trap. Was it loosening or was it just her imagination? Tarkah moved digging around it until finally she could see the rusted metal buried under the snow and ice. She dug faster still until she saw the trap move. It was loose now!
Tarkah gave a jump, expectign the trap to lunge at her. Givign a growl she pawed at it gingerly it was cold and heavy, its wet metal slick as it sucked at the snowy ground. But the jaws were still wrapped around Tourniquet. Though evidently looser. The rusted and frozen hinges must have stuck in place. But now that the trap was loose, perhaps they could part the jaws of the monster. or maybe pull his leg out. Which option seemed less dangerous?

Though half of the trapped paw was numb he could still feel it and he blinked slowly as he lightly wiggled the trapped paw. His ears perked immidiatly at that as he felt like he could possibly pull the paw out of the iron jaws now but he still did not want to make any unneeded movements unless Tarkah believed it was at least woth a shot.
